Florida Rapper SpotemGottem Arrested After Evading Police On A Jet Ski

20-year-old SpotemGottem is having a rough start to his summer, as the “Beat Box” rapper was arrested over the weekend in his home state of Florida.

According to NBC Miami, the Jacksonville native – born Nehemiah Harden – was taken into police custody on charges including reckless operation of a boat, fleeing police, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and finally, aggravated assault.

The arrest report reveals that officers on duty and patrolling the area near Miami Marine Stadium noticed someone speeding on a jet ski and attempted to pull them over.

The offender (later identified as Harden) sped away after police turned their lights and sirens on, though he was eventually stopped and placed under arrest. It’s been noted that the rapper is expected in bond court today (June 27).

Less than a year ago, SpotemGottem found himself in trouble with the law again, when the U.S. Marshals discovered him inside a room at the Aventura hotel room, laying in bed with an AK-47 pistol next to him.

At the time (July 16, 2021) he was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and accessory after the fact to a felony.

On top of that, late last year the rising rapper was left in critical condition after being shot five times in a drive-by incident.

Luckily, he was able to make a full recovery, and has clearly made his way back outside (and into trouble) since then – read more about SpotemGottem’s 2021 shooting incident here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop news updates.

Ludacris’ Longtime Manager Injured In A Triple Shooting In Atlanta

Ludacris’ longtime manager, Chaka Zulu, was one of three men shot in a parking lot on Peachtree Road in Atlanta on Monday morning. The triple shooting took place outside of a restaurant called Apt4b following a dispute.

Zulu has been transported to a local hospital to undergo surgery, along with one of the other victims. The third man was killed during the attack.

“We have three persons shot at the location. One deceased and two are in hospitals as a result of a dispute in the parking lot,” Lt. Germaine Dearlove told local Atlanta news station WSB-TV.

Police continue to search for the gunman, and have said that they are reviewing surveillance video of the scene with hopes that they are able to identify the shooter.

Zulu and the other victim are expected to recover from their injuries after undergoing surgery overnight.

Zulu co-founded Disturbing Tha Peace Records in 1998 with his brother, Jeff Dixon, and Ludacris. The label has signed Chingy, Shawnna, Bobby V, Playaz Circle, Lil Scrappy, and more. Zulu also works as the co-CEO of Ebony Sun Entertainment.

Back in January, the Atlanta Hawks recognized Zulu as the ninth recipient of the “Forever 404 Honors.” The award recognizes those who are committed to serving Atlanta and embody a unique combination of cause, culture, and community.

Machine Gun Kelly’s New Documentary Reveals He Nearly Shot Himself On A Call With Megan Fox

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox love to share the super sexy, intimate details of their life together, there’s no denying that, but in the recording artist’s new Hulu documentary, Life in Pink, he recalled a less than pleasant moment for the couple, when he nearly ended his life on a phone call.

As Page Six notes, the father of one took us back to July of 2020, when he was mourning the loss of his own dad, who had passed away on the one-year-anniversary of Colson Baker’s Hotel Diablo record.

“I wouldn’t leave my room and I started getting really, really, really dark,” he admitted, mentioning that, at the time, his partner was overseas in Bulgaria shooting a movie. “I started getting this really wild paranoia,” MGK went on.

“Like I kept getting paranoid that someone was gonna come and kill me.” In order to cope with the delusions in his head, the 32-year-old slept with a shotgun next to his bed, though that proved to be a risky idea as one day he “just f*cking snapped.”

Baker called Fox, accusing her of not being there for him. “I’m in my room and I’m like, freaking out on her. Dude, I put the shotgun in my mouth. And I’m yelling on the phone and like the barrel is in my mouth. And I go to cock the shotgun, and the bullet, as it comes back up, the shell just gets jammed.”

The “Wild Boy” hitmaker said that his fiancée was “dead silent” on the other end of the line afterward, and in that moment, he realized that “something’s not right” in his life, ultimately pushing him closer to embracing sobriety, though he didn’t clarify whether or not drugs were involved in the tense phone call.

Elsewhere, MGK gushed about his “sun” of a lover, who has helped lift him out of the darkness he dealt with for so long. “That’s what helps me write those songs. ‘Cause it’s just like every fairy tale that they never told you in school… the passion between us is just otherworldly,” he said.

Speaking of passion, earlier this year the Transformers actress revealed that she and her man cut a hole in the crotch of one of her outfits so they could have sex with ease – read more about that here, and check out the trailer for Machine Gun Kelly’s Life in Pink documentary below.

The Inaugural Big Climate Thing Festival Will Feature The Roots, Haim, Khruangbin, And More

So it turns out that at the moment, the climate could be doing better. There are some people out there trying to do something about that, including the folks at Climate Control Projects and Brian Eno’s EarthPercent with their latest endeavor: the first-ever The Big Climate Thing festival.

The inaugural event, intended to raise awareness and take action about the climate crisis, is set to go down at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium from July 16 to 18 and the lineup features The Roots, Haim, Khruangbin, The Flaming Lips, Gary Clark Jr., Courtney Barnett, Sheryl Crow, The Weather Station, Sunflower Bean, Bonny Light Horseman, Guster, Pom Pom Squad, and others.

The Weather Station’s Tamara Lindeman told Rolling Stone, “I think music, along with all the cultural industries, have spent way too long sitting back on this issue. I believe music plays a primarily emotional role in people’s lives, and as such I think it has huge potential in pushing us to recognize our tangled emotions around this topic. When I imagine a stadium full of people coming together for a climate event centered on music, what I imagine is an enormous opportunity to feel a solidarity that has been so missing here. I truly hope that an enormous in-person event can have some power to bring people together and create some common experience around climate, and push those in attendance to examine their climate feelings and push through them enough to act.”

Sunflower Bean’s Julia Cumming also notes, “I believe that music is one of the most powerful communication tools we have on this planet, way deeper than just words could ever express. Music has to power to influence people’s decisions by touching their hearts and relating to them on the human condition. We are all facing the same problem: this is all our home and it happens to be on fire. If we can figure out how to properly utilize music in this era of the climate crisis, I know more good could be done.”

More info about the festival, including ticket information, can be found at the Big Climate Thing website.
