Reason Debuts His Cocky New Single ‘Barely Miss’ On ‘A COLORS Show’

Over the past year or so, it’s become something of a trend for artists — especially rappers — to not only use the popular YouTube series A COLOR Show to expand their fanbase with hard-hitting performances but to also debut brand-new singles on the show as well. Previously, rising rappers like Flo Milli, Joey Badass, Guapdad 4000, and D Smoke have all premiered new music on the show, and this week’s guest continues the tradition. This time, it’s Top Dawg Entertainment rapper Reason dropping in to introduce his latest single, “Barely Miss,” going for a fuschia and tan aesthetic as he gets his whole body involved.

“Barely Miss” is the second new single from Reason this month after he teamed up with labelmate Jay Rock to drop the humble “Is What It Is.” Prior to that, Reason hijacked the beat from Jack Harlow’s Drake collaboration “Churchill Downs” for his own “Churchill Downs Freestyle” aimed at letting latecomers know that TDE is in good hands with its current generation of burgeoning rap stars. Reason’s recent activity seems to suggest an impending follow-up to his October 2021 EP No More No Less, which contained features from Adé, Benny the Butcher, Doe Boy, Isaiah Rashad, and Wale.

Brittney Griner’s Trial Date Has Been Revealed

WNBA star Brittney Griner has been detained in Russian prison for nearly five months after she was caught with cannabis oil while trying to leave the county. In the time since her arrest, the NBA and the WNBA have joined efforts and prioritized working to bring Griner home while NBA teams have shown their support for the Phoenix Mercury star.

Her wife, Cherelle Griner sought aid from the U.S. government, although the results were futile.

Last week, the country deemed Griner a political prisoner but Russia has denied that claim. Russian officials insist that she will head to court for her breaking Russian law, and will not be exempt because of her status as a U.S. citizen.

For her crimes, the 31-year-old was initially ordered to remain in pretrial detention until at least July 2nd, but instead made an early court appearance on Monday (June 27).

Griner was pictured shackled and handcuffed to a guard who led her into the courtroom. According to TMZ, a trial date of July 1st was agreed upon at the proceedings. It’s also been noted that if she is found guilty of her charges, Griner will be facing up to 10 years in prison.

The U.S. is committed to preventing the WNBA player from being sentenced, and according to Congressman Colin Allred of Texas, authorities are  “actively negotiating” Brittney’s return to America.

Reason’s Hot Streak Continues With “Barely Miss”

There’s been a lot of exciting news coming out of the TDE camp in recent times. While Kendrick Lamar released his final project on the label, artists like Ab-Soul and ScHoolboy Q have been gearing up to drop new music. Reason, too, has been coming through with a consistent stream of heat over the past few weeks. He teamed up with Jay Rock earlier this month with “Is What It Is” and now, he’s back in action with his latest release, “Barely Miss.” The rapper tackles serene flute-laden production handled by Allen Ritter, Vinylz, and Maneesh where he reflects on the resilience and strength of the Black community through years of oppression. “What you get you take n***as, take a system, take a struggle/ Take oppression, take a hustle mix it in that pot of gumbo/ We don’t miss,” he raps.

With two new singles from Reason this month, it seems like he could be coming with a new album this summer.

Quotable Lyrics
Blame it on a n***a pigment, you forget where history went with it
Left us ignant with no way to get it
Been this way since infants
Redline lead red rags, shit been blood baths
N***as scammin’, tryna build future for they son to have

Kendall Jenner & Devin Booker Spotted Together After NBA Star Double-Tapped Model’s Nude IG Pic

Sources have been alleging that 26-year-old Kendall Jenner and her NBA star boyfriend Devin Booker broke up recently after spending two years together and realizing that they wanted different things in life.

Since then, the model has seen photographed by the paparazzi living her life as usual – attending workout classes around Hollywood, dining at the finest restaurants, and most recently, spending time with her rumoured ex. As TMZ reports, Booker and Jenner were spotted together on Sunday – the same day that she dropped off a cheeky nude picture to her Instagram feed.

Cameras caught the famous pair at Soho House in Malibu on Sunday, and reports note that they were “seemingly good spirits” while “[passing] each other some flirty looks.”

In the aforementioned IG upload, the reality star teased her hundreds of millions of followers with a completely nude shot that finds her laying face down while tanning, exposing her bare bottom to the sunshine.

She also gave a glimpse at her other hobbies, including riding horses, eating delicious sushi, and taking in views during sunset cruises.

Seeing as neither Jenner nor Booker ever confirmed the gossip about their breakup themselves, it’s entirely possible that the whole thing was a big misunderstanding (or perhaps the Phoenix Suns player was caught in a thirst trap – time will tell).

Prior to their alleged split, the duo flew overseas to Italy, where they watched Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker tie the knot in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana-themed affair, and late last year they packed on the PDA after Booker has a big win on the court – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates.

Roddy Ricch And Mustard Cruise In The Desert in Their Boastful ‘Real Talk’ Video

After fans weren’t really feeling his second album, LIve Life Fast, Roddy Ricch went back to the drawing board and returned with a new EP, The Big 3, getting back to basics and resetting ahead of his plans to follow-up his fan-favorite mixtape series Feed The Streets with a third installment this year. On the EP, he reunited with Mustard, the producer behind some of his biggest hits, and together, the dynamic duo dropped some “Real Talk” for their longtime fans.

In the new video for “Real Talk” released today, the Compton and Long Beach natives take it to the dusty dunes of the California desert, cruising with a small fleet of Ford trucks in perfect formation. Roddy sits at the lead, rapping from atop the hood of a Mercedes-AMG. In a separate scene, the rapper and DJ stand on a mirror reflecting the crystal blue sky, resulting in some stunning imagery. And finally, in the video’s third act, they both perform on a makeshift basketball court at sunset, a striking shot made more poignant with Roddy’s Nipsey Hussle tribute shirt. It looks like Roddy’s bounceback is in full effect.
