Jack Harlow Helps Detroit Upstart Babyface Ray Throw A ‘Paperwork Party’ In His New Video

Michigan has become a hotbed of hip-hop talent in recent months thanks to the wave of young upstarts from the Great Lake State rising in conjunction like 42 Dugg, Icewear Vezzo, and Sada Baby. Another of the state’s up-and-coming potential stars is Babyface Ray, who debuted earlier this year with the release of his EP Unf*ckwitable. Building on the favorable buzz from the project’s release, Ray followed up with a deluxe version in May featuring additional tracks and Midwestern guest star Jack Harlow, who’s in the midst of a breakout of his own this year.

Today, Harlow and Ray released the video for their collaboration, “Paperwork Party (Remix).” A boastful track produced by Kardiak, the song features a ghostly woodwind loop over which the two rappers brag about their money-making enterprises — and their endeavors to blow it all, because as Ray puts it, “I never seen a money truck chase a hearse.” The video makes the title literal, as the duo celebrates their riches with a get-together, complete with confetti rain and bottles of champagne, as Harlow boasts that “shows got banned, but I still got bands.”

Jack Harlow is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Trevor Noah Had An Amazing Response To Learning That Jay Z And Beyonce Actually Know Who He Is

Celebrities, they’re just like us! They, too, get excited when they learn that two of the most famous and brilliant people in the world actually know who they are. That’s what happened to Trevor Noah the other night when he went to Barclays Center to see the playoff game between the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks. The Daily Show host and sporadic Ted Cruz sparring partner was casually sitting courtside when who should show up but former Barclays stake holder Jay Z and his wife, Beyonce, who is also very popular.

A Getty photojournalist just happened to snap the meeting of the minds, catching Noah and Beyonce mid-fist-bump. Noah made sure to post that pic to his Instagram feed, complete with a gushing, fanboyish, pinch-me-is-this-real? caption:

“I’ve thought of every possible caption for this picture but really what can I write? You’re at the @brooklynnets game, the King of Brooklyn walks in with his wife @beyonce and then they both fist bump you. You try to act cool but then later you see a picture of the moment and you realise that this life is insane!!! What a privilege and magical moment to experience in life. And even though magic happens to me every day, I hope the little South African boy inside of me never stops reminding me that I’m living a dream.”

Who among us hasn’t been sitting courtside at an NBA playoff game and traded fistbumps with Jay Z and Beyonce? Many were quick to congratulate Noah on the honor, though in the comments, Daily Show colleague Jordan Klepper took some jokey umbrage with one detail of his caption: him referring to Jay Z as “the King of Brooklyn.”

“To be clear, I live in Brooklyn,” Klepper wrote. “Is the Jay Z is King a totally settled thing?”

Anyway, it’s great to know one of the world’s most powerful power couples watches The Daily Show.

Polo G Wants To Work With J. Cole And Kendrick Lamar, But Has One Condition Before He Does

Ever since debuting with Die A Legend in 2019, Chicago rapper Polo G has been pretty intentional about stating his goals and following through on them — many times within the titles of the projects he’s released. For instance, after stating he’d “die a legend” on his first project, he followed up by calling himself The Goat in 2020. Now, he’s days away from dropping Hall Of Fame, and you can’t say the young rising star doesn’t aim high.

In a new feature in Complex about the upcoming album, Polo states another one of his goals — and the one caveat preventing him from pursuing it as aggressively as he normally would. He tells Harley Geffner that while he’d love to work with rappers like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar in the future after being shouted out by Cole’s Dreamville partner Ibrahim Hamad, he wants “to get a little bit better lyrically in that style before I would jump on that type of song.”

Hall Of Fame will see him taking steps in that direction, sharing mic time with lyrical all-stars like Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, but as Geffner notes, he may not be as far off as he feels. Look no further than his recent LA Leakers freestyle, which impressed Rap Twitter over its use of DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” and Polo’s verse in BET’s 2020 Hip-Hop Awards Cypher, where he stood toe-to-toe with hard-hitters like Chika, Jack Harlow, and Rapsody.

Hall Of Fame drops 6/11 via Columbia Records. Pre-save it here.

Kanye West & Irina Shayk Return To US Together After Their Romantic Getaway

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian announced their separation earlier this year after seven years of marriage. Rumored to be heading towards a divorce late last year, however, reports indicated that Kanye’s bizarre 2020 presidential run was the final straw for the reality TV star. She subsequently filed for divorce from the Yeezy CEO.

After their breakup, Kardashian was rumored to be seeing political news commenter Van Jones, while Kanye was falsely rumored to have a fling with Jeffree Starr. Prior to this week, neither of them had confirmed any new romances. According to TMZ, however, Kanye and Irina Shayk are officially an item, confirming previous rumors.

The new couple embarked on a romantic getaway to Paris earlier in the week to celebrate the Yeezus artist’s birthday. They returned from their vacation together on Wednesday afternoon (June 9), arriving in New Jersey on a shared private jet. While they flew back home together, an insider reports they did not leave the airport together. Ye covered his face as cameras snapped the pair walking inside of the facility.

“Kanye and Irina are seeing each other,” confirmed an insider. “It’s casual at the moment, but they are into each other.” They have apparently been seeing each other for a few weeks now.

As for Kim, she doesn’t seem to be looking to jump into another relationship anytime soon. After reportedly being pursued by all types of eligible bachelors, she’s not ready to date quite just yet.

She recently opened up about her divorce for the first time on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “I feel like a f*king failure, that it’s like, a third f–king marriage,” she tearfully confessed in the clip, referencing her previous divorces from Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries. “Yeah, I feel like a f*king loser. But I can’t even think about that like, I want to be happy.”

Metro Boomin & Travis Scott Are Cooking Up

Travis Scott’s albums generally shine in the production department, with the Astroworld artist having united no shortage of brilliant musical minds to realize his vision. Now, Scott has been steadily putting together his anticipated album Utopia, having been hard at work in the studio with his longtime creative collaborator Mike Dean. Now, it would appear he’s been connecting with Metro Boomin, who took to Twitter to tease some future musical endeavors.

“Up to something,” teases Metro, who has been relatively busy of late. Lest we forget that the Savage Mode 2 mastermind was recently seen working with J.I.D, a collaboration that may very well manifest on The Forever Story. Metro was also putting in work with Future and Drake, fueling speculation that the What A Time To Be Alive duo would be reuniting on Certified Lover Boy. Now, he’s throwing his hat in the Utopia race, marking the first time he’s contributed to a Travis Scott studio album since Rodeo.

It should certainly be interesting to hear what Scott and Metro cook up, as both artists continuously bring no shortage of creative innovation to the table. Alas, it’s unclear as to when “Utopia” will surface, though Travis Scott previously teased that he’d be looking to “expand his sound” even further. He also may or may not have been recording with Roddy Ricch and Young Thug, having bestowed Utopia chains to both parties.

Look for more news on the upcoming Utopia, which will likely feature some music from Metro Boomin and Travis Scott, and sound off if you’re excited for the album to drop.

The NBA Allegedly Told The Nets To Stop Poking Fun Of Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Milwaukee Bucks faced off against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night (June 7) at the Barclays Center. While the Nets came out on top and will thus be advancing in the NBA playoffs, the basketball organization is not completely happy with the team.

Bucks star player Giannis Antetokounmpo is notoriously known for taking his time with his free throw shooting. This has been particularly highlight during the playoff games, the most prominent reason being that he is not particularly a long free throw shooter. In this postseason, the two-time MVP, unfortunately, boasts the worst shots he’s thrown in his postseason career.

He was fined in a recent game against the Miami Heat for a 10-second free throw violation in one of the very rare instances this violation is actually called. This led to opposing fans poking fun of Antetokounmpo, something on full display during Game 1 against the Brooklyn Nets.

The team put up a timer to track how long it took him to get free throws off, and according to Peter Botte of the New York Post, the NBA was not feeling this. An NBA source explained the league ordered the Nets to cut out the gamesmanship antics of the timer shown on the overhead scoreboard at Barclays during Monday’s playoff game whenever Antetokounmpo was at the throwing line. The league is against teams inciting any type of taunting of other players by their fans, adds the source.

As opposed to this, the Nets projected a video of longtime fan Mr.Whammy extending his arms towards the Bucks star during his free-throw attempts during Monday night’s Game 2 victory.

In the end, the Nets came as the winners of the first two games, so perhaps the gentle banter wasn’t too bad.

Megan Fox Punches MGK In “Midnight In The Switchgrass” Trailer

Entertainment Tonight has premiered the first trailer for the long-anticipated film Midnight in the Switchgrass, a thriller starring Megan Fox, Bruce Willis, Emile Hirsch, and Machine Gun Kelly. The trailer shows an FBI agent teaming up with a Florida state police officer, in order to investigate a string of unsolved cases. The trailer shows plenty of fighting, kidnapping and even Megan Fox punching her real-life boyfriend in the face.

Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, and Fox have been making headlines in recent months as a couple, primarily for their PDA on red carpets and social media. However, the couple first met on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass, so fans of the pairing have been waiting for this movie to come out ever since rumors of their relationship started to spread, over a year ago.

In the scene that features the couple, Fox wears a black top and a mini black skirt. Her character is undercover, portraying a prostitute as MGK’s character comes in telling her to lift her skirt, and then pulls a knife out when she refuses. That’s when Fox defends herself and eventually punches the would-be predator in the face. Later on in the trailer, the culprit is seen one more time, all beat up, while Fox interrogates him for answers.

The film comes out July 23rd, be sure to check out the trailer below to see what to expect from it.

2FeetBino & Cristo Team Up For “OTR Freestyle”

2FeetBino is shaping up to be the next artist to blow out of Atlanta. The budding ATL star has gained an organic buzz in his city which is always a sign of good things to come. Atlanta is certainly competitive with an overwhelming amount of artists emerging from the city. However, 2FeetBino’s laidback confidence on wax has made him one of the most exciting new artists to watch, especially after he collaborated with Young Nudy on “No Freestyle” in 2018.

As fans anticipate his next move, he slid through with a brand new record titled, “OTR Freestyle” ft. Cristo. Over upbeat, bouncy production, the two rappers effortlessly talk their shit with a few hilarious punchlines that keep the song exciting.

Peep the latest song from 2FeetBino below.
