Tinashe And Buddy Get Away From It All In Their Sun-Washed ‘Pasadena’ Video

In the sun-washed video for their collaboration “Pasadena,” Tinashe and Buddy head for the hills — literally. Taking over a far-flung, glass-walled home overlooking a truly stunning view, the two California artists take in the sights from the balcony while smoking and getting away from it all. Tinashe also puts her choreography skills on display with a team of dancers giving a performance that could put TikTok’s top influencers out to pasture.

The recently released track is their second collaboration to be released over the past year after August’s “Glitch.” It’s also Tinashe’s first solo single of 2021, building on the buzz from her cover of Chaka Khan’s 1978 classic “I’m Every Woman” from The Undefeated’s Music For The Movement Volume II project celebrating Black History Month to suggest that a new project is on the way from the genre-mixing singer.

In the press release for the video, Tinashe said she “felt a very strong calling to release music that feels like joy, excitement, and freedom” after the past year “to contribute positive energy to the universe.” “I wrote and recorded the song Pasadena in my home in Los Angeles with a bold, bouncing tempo that makes me want to dance,” she recalled. “The song is about growth, family, and the feelings I get when I visit the area I grew up in — energetic and nostalgic, but hopeful.”

Watch Megan Fox Punch Machine Gun Kelly In The Face In The ‘Midnight In The Switchgrass’ Trailer

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox have been turning heads as a couple since they went public with their relationship in 2020, and Megan’s bonkers quote about her new boyfriend, along with the fact that MGK wears a necklace with her blood in it have led some to dub them the new Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton. If the shoe fits! Anyway, after recent public appearances together at the Indy 500 and the Billboard Music Awards, a trailer for the movie that started it all just dropped.

Fox, who was married before splitting with her husband to date Kelly, met the musician on set for their new movie, Midnight In The Switchgrass, where she plays an undercover FBI agent who is used as bait to help the law track down a serial killer, and in the meantime she encounters MGK’s character, and punches him in the face (!). While that doesn’t seem like the most romantic of settings, the two definitely have onscreen chemistry in the new preview. Switchgrass is the directorial debut of Randall Emmett, and it also stars Bruce Willis as Fox’s fellow FBI agent along with Emilie Hirsch, and Lukas Haas. The film will drop in theaters and be available for rent this summer, on July 23. Check out the preview above.

Doja Cat Teased Another New Single, ‘Need To Know,’ With A Space Age Clip

Fans have been waiting patiently for Doja Cat’s new full-length album, Planet Her to drop, the follow-up to her 2019 project Hot Pink. One of the clearest signs that the record was going to be dropping soon is her new collaboration with SZA, “Kiss Me More,” — which the pair performed at this year’s Billboard Awards — but that song came out over two months ago now, and no album. But we’ve got another sign that Planet Her is going to be coming soon with a clip of a new track that Doja shared on Instagram today.

Though there’s very little actual music in the clip, the camera is whooshing through space to double down on the intergalactic feel for the record. Finally zooming in on a room decorated with art, where the long, pink nails give away Doja herself. Dubbed “Need To Know” in the video and in the pop star’s caption, the song is scheduled to drop this Friday, June 11. It’s too early to tell if this song will get caught up in a TikTok craze like her past singles “Say So” and “Streets” have, but it seems like it’s definitely going to have a space age theme. Check out the clip above and keep out an eye for Planet Her hopefully lifting off some day soon.

Ransom Spits Sinful Bars On “Sloth”

Everyone who has ever seen David Fincher’s dark and brutal cinematic masterpiece Se7en was likely affected by at least one of the chilling murder scenes. For Ransom, he found himself inspired by the acclaimed director’s vision, to the point where he designed his brand new EP around the flick. Featuring guest appearances from Lloyd Banks and Royce Da 5’9″, who hold it down on “Gluttony” and “Greed” respectively, the entirety of the album is named after the seven deadly sins. T

hat includes the penultimate “Sloth,” which also happens to be a highlight on the brief and thematically vivid project. Despite what the title may suggest, Ransom’s bars are anything but lazy; in fact, he continues his merciless massacre through instrumentals, furthering the case that he’s among the game’s most slept on spitters. “I done took this hoodie off and the villain’s my own reflection,” he raps. “Soul possession of a sober perception with no deception, no depression / Life’s a test, ni**as blessed when they know the questions.”

Check out “Sloth” now, and be sure to show some love to Ransom in the comments below.

QUOTABLE LYRICS

Ludacris Joins The Cast Of Netflix “End Of The Road”

It’s been over six years since Ludacris released a new album but ever since his 2005 Hollywood run, he’s successfully transitioned into the world of film and television. That’s largely due to the success he had on movies like Crash and the Fast & The Furious series. However, his acting resume has exponentially grown and continues to do so with every year.

The latest cast Luda has joined is for Netflix’s forthcoming film, End Of The Road. The “Blueberry Yum Yum” rapper was announced as a new cast member along with Beau Bridges (One Night In Miami) for the film. Queen Latifah was previously announced as a star of the film.

“After losing her job, recently widowed Brenda drives her family cross-country to start a new life. In the New Mexico desert, cut off from help, they must learn to fight back when they become the targets of a mysterious killer,” a description of the film reads in a press release.

End Of The Road will be directed by Millicent Shelton who worked on Insecure and Black-Ish with Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere serving as executive producers.

Ludacris is evidently getting cozy with the folks over at Netflix these days. Last fall, the rapper announced that he would be bringing an animated series titled Karma’s World to the streaming platform.

We’ll keep you posted on more information regarding End Of The Road.

Almighty Jay Drops “YBN” Name Following IG Beef With Nahmir

Over the years, the YBN Crew has altered quite significantly from the lineup many of us were introduced to them as. Cordae was the first of the most popular members of the group, the others being YBN Almighty Jay and YBN Nahmir, to drop the YBN name from his stage name in August 2020.

Insisting that regardless of any name changes they’re still brothers at the end of the day, no one could anticipate that Nahmir and Jay would eventually be trading insults online. Jay later explained that there was an “almost two-year” beef between the two of them, resulting in Jay’s confession about wanting to drop the YBN name for months now.

“I BEEN GOING BACK AND FORWARD WITH MY LABEL FOR MONTHS TRYNA GET THIS ‘YBN’ SHIT OFF MY NAME ON SOCIAL MEDIA,” he wrote. “I’M ALMIGHTY JAY!”

In the heated exchange on Instagram live between the two of them, Jay said to his former crew member, “He already know I’m gonna beat his ass. He continued, “I might as well get paid to beat his ass and I want to do it in front of everybody. I’m the one trying to make the fight happen, how am I nervous? You don’t know how bad I want it to happen. You thin as hell, you know I’ma punch a hole through your ass.”

Nahmir replied fired back, “I been tryna beat your ass, just like I beat your mans and them up. When y’all see cuz hurt with all them black eyes, n-ggas ain’t hit cuz with bottles this time. Tell n-ggas to drop a location in Houston we gon’ pop out.”

In a follow-up video, Jay explained they haven’t been cool for almost two years now. Right now, it’s not clear when he’ll officially go as just Almighty Jay.

Joe Biden Revokes Trump’s Executive Order To Ban TikTok

The power of TikTok shined in 2020. The idea of going viral has transitioned to the social media app which has been a catalyst in introducing new talent. However, the dangers of the app became a topic of conversation, especially under the Trump administration. Trump signed an executive order that attempted to block TikTok, WeChat, and Alipay from app stores in the U.S., citing potential threats to the American people’s privacy.

Joe Biden revoked the executive orders issued by Donald Trump earlier today, though insisted that there will be apps that undergo investigation. Biden’s new executive order offers guidelines for investigating apps that could potentially compromise national security.

“The administration is committed to promoting an open, interoperable, reliable, and secure internet and to protecting human rights online and offline, and to supporting a vibrant global digital economy,” a senior administration official said on Wednesday. “The challenge that we’re addressing with this EO is that certain countries, including China, do not share these commitments or values and are instead working to leverage digital technologies and American data in ways that present unacceptable national security risk.”

Biden’s order calls on federal agencies, including the Commerce Department, into investigations into how Americans can be protected from the collection and sale of personal information to foreign entities.

It looks like TikTok will continue to dominate the world of social media in the foreseeable future.

The new single, titled “Baddest,” features 2 Chainz and Chris Brown, and given the fact that it drops on Friday, June  11, we’ll be finding out very soon. The “You’re Mines Still” singer took to social media to promote his new single earlier today, excitedly announcing the drop along with a snippet of the song on his Instagram.

Yung Bleu has also posted a flick with Kelahni, captioning the photo, “Dinner with gang @kehlani! Big sounds,” suggesting the “Distraction” singer will add to his impressive lineup of features from some of the hottest female singers, too.
