Killer Mike Joked That He And His Wife ‘Need A Third,’ And He Thinks Taylor Swift Fits The Bill

When a microphone gets in front of Killer Mike, the result is either going to be really great (his Grammy Award-winning album >Michael) or make anyone listening want to groan aloud in horror. His latest stint on The Daily Show falls into the latter category — at least, it does for me — and I think we should maybe consider restricting his engagement with live mics to him rapping on them and nothing else.

While Mike reflected on his Grammy wins, host Jordan Klepper asked him a jokey question about another award show fixture, Taylor Swift, wondering if Swift “snubbed Celine [Dion].” The minor controversy found fans nitpicking Swift for not properly acknowledging the Canadian diva, who presented her the award for Album Of The Year (despite her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis). Unfortunately, Mike took it left almost immediately, praising her for winning the award, then jokingly propositioning the “Anti-Hero” singer.

“She won at the Grammys,” he noted. “Her boyfriend won the Chiefs. If she’s into poly, me and my wife need a third. We’re trying to win again.”

Yikes, Mike.

Klepper did his best to mitigate the off-color joke, asking, “You feel like you could pull off polygamy right now?” prompting Mike to reel it in a bit. “I feel I could pull it off,” he said. “Only problem is my wife’s good with a gun. She doesn’t agree. But I’ll keep trying for all the men out there.”

Hey, man. That sounds like a YOU problem. Don’t do anything for all the men. My name’s Bennett and I ain’t in it. I’m sure the Swifties will be nice about this when they find out. It’s not like there isn’t already a wildly problematic history of rappers saying gross things about their leader.

Killer Mike Shoots His Shot With Taylor Swift Despite His Better Judgment

Killer Mike is someone who has experienced a lot of success over the last few weeks. Overall, he came through and won three Grammys for his album MICHAEL. It was a huge accomplishment especially this late into his career. However, it came with a pretty hash moment as well. Immediately after his wins, he was arrested for an alleged incident with a security guard. Whatever the case may be, he has since retained his freedom and he is happier than ever with his new hardware.

The artist has been making the rounds as of late when it comes to the media. From The Breakfast Club to The View, Mike has been everywhere. In fact, last night he got to be on The Daily Show where he spoke about being on a high from the Grammys. He also touched on one of the other winners from that night, Taylor Swift. In fact, he shot his shot at the singer, despite the fact that he is married, and she is dating Travis Kelce. “God—n, she won at the Grammys. Her boyfriend won the Chiefs,” he said. “If she’s into poly, me and my wife need a third. We’re trying to win again.”

Killer Mike On The Daily Show

Host Jordan Klepper was quick to follow up on that one as he wondered if Taylor Swift would go for that kind of arrangement. While Killer Mike acknowledges his wife may not like it, it is still something he would consider. “I feel I could pull it off,” Mike said. “Only problem is my wife’s good with a gun. She doesn’t agree. But I’ll keep trying for all the men out there.” Either way, Killer Mike has had a lot of good stuff come his way as of late, and it is deserved. After so many years, the establishment is giving him his recognition.

Desus Nice Eviscerates DJ Envy On “The Daily Show”

Desus Nice and DJ Envy had a feud back in the day. Overall, it played out at The Breakfast Club, and Desus’ former partner Mero was there as well. In fact, Envy had beef with both of them over comments they made on their show. Subsequently, there was a huge fallout from the confrontation. However, the internet was firmly on Desus’ side. Now, DJ Envy is being scrutinized for his alleged role in a real estate scam committed by Cesar Pina. As you can imagine, Desus is paying close attention.

This week, it just so happens that Desus Nice is the guest host on The Daily Show. The influential parody news show is looking for a new host, and Desus is being given a tryout of sorts. On last night’s episode, he tackled the DJ Envy case. Overall, he took a sarcastic tone, saying the story was “very serious” despite laughing through the segment. Additionally, he referenced their previous feud, noting just how much he is reveling in all of this.

Desus Nice For “The Daily Show”

“It’s definitely not funny. There’s certainly nothing personal that makes it funny to me. It’s not like RaaShaun accosted me on the radio for making a little joke about him and his wife, which I only thought we were friends,” Desus said. “It’s not like he called me ‘d*ckhead’ and then got so mad he locked himself in the studio for the rest of the show and then told the building security I was a threat. But even if that happened, that’s all in the past.” Needless to say, it couldn’t have been better timing for Desus to host the show.

Recently, Cesar Pina told his followers that Envy is completely innocent in all of this. However, an investigation is currently still pending. Give us your thoughts on the Desus segment, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed.

Don Lemon Allegedly Slights Jon Stewart On Hot Mic

Embattled CNN anchor Don Lemon is facing more controversy. Lemon had created a likeable image for himself during his time with the network. However, his reputation has taken a beating in 2023. Lemon was lambasted in February for sexist comments he made about presidential candidate Nikki Haley. Additionally, an article was released last week detailing Lemon’s alleged history of abuse towards CNN colleagues. Now, Lemon is accused of criticizing comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart on a hot mic.

TMZ reports that the latest incident happened during CNN Morning on Monday. Lemon threw to a story of Stewart interviewing U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks. During the interview, Stewart passionately derided what he considered waste by the DOD. “I can’t figure out how $850 billion to a department means that the rank and file still have to be on food stamps. To me, that’s f***ing corruption.” While the clip aired, Lemon could be heard talking to his co-anchors. “He gets a lot of leeway with the comedian thing, though,” he said. Evidently, Lemon didn’t realize his microphone was still on. After an awkward silence, Lemon attempted to clarify his thoughts on Stewart. “He’s so much more than a comedian,” he said.

Commenters Come to Jon Stewart’s Defense

Many commenters have called Lemon’s comments inappropriate. Moreover, many have pointed out that Stewart has done much more than just tell jokes. Stewart hosted the “Daily Show” for 16 years. The show combined humor with Stewart’s usual hard-hitting political commentary. Stewart has also spent much of his post-Daily Show career supporting military veterans. The show was so popular that it became many people’s primary source of news. Additionally, he has lobbied congress for greater support for 9/11 first responders.

For Don Lemon and CNN, this latest gaffe is an unwelcome event. Slumping ratings have been a cause for concern at the network. Additionally, the network is still recovering from the 2021 firing of former anchor Chris Cuomo. Cuomo’s unamicable split from the network is still fresh in the memory for many. Subsequently, many have wondered if Lemon will be the next anchor out the door. Lemon’s controversies have placed him firmly on the hot seat. We will see going forward if he is able to weather the storm.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Fails At Roasting KD, LeBron, & Nikola Jokic: Watch

Giannis Antetokounmpo is known around the NBA for being one of the nicest guys out there. Overall, many see him as the best player in the NBA. Even on a bad night, Giannis will give you at least 25 points and then another 10 rebounds on top of that. Furthermore, he brought a championship to Milwaukee, which is pretty legendary. He could have easily gone anywhere to win a title, but instead, he opted to play in a small market and give them everything they ever dreamed of.

Additionally, Giannis does all of this while being extremely humble. Despite all the chatter of him being the best in the league, he has no interest in actually claiming this title. Instead, he would rather defer those titles to people like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Although some believe he is putting on a “fake modesty” act, there is no doubt he is sincere. At the end of the day, he is just a guy living his dream and nothing can take him off of his pedestal.

Giannis Antetokounmpo On “The Daily Show”

Recently, Giannis was on The Daily Show which was hosted by Hasan Minhaj. During the episode, Minhaj, who is a huge NBA fan, tried to get Giannis to diss other players in the NBA. However, Antetokounmpo simply did not have the heart to do it. Instead, he just praised everyone. For instance, he made a joke about Kevin Durant and how he can’t carry his own team. Giannis hated the bit and decided to just praise KD immediately after. The same occurred with LeBron, as he told the Lakers star that he looks up to him. Luckily, we got some jokes for Nikola Jokic as Giannis said “Joker, how are going to make it through the Finals when you look like you could barely make it through a Burger King drive-through?”

For the foreseeable future, it appears as though Giannis will not be offering up any disses to his peers. Overall, he is too nice of a guy for that kind of thing. For now, he is just focused on winning a second title with the Bucks. If he makes it happen, he will certainly become one of the greatest players ever.

Sarah Silverman Thinks She Knows Why Rihanna Didn’t Bring Out Kanye During Her Super Bowl Performance: ‘There Wasn’t Enough Room For Her Dancers To Form A Swastika’

Whether you loved it or not, people can’t stop talking about Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, which might go down in history as the most watched public pregnancy announcement in the history of the world. While Donald Trump wasn’t impressed by what he called an “EPIC FAIL” of a performance, RiRi somehow managed to overcome the former president’s review and dethrone Taylor Swift as Spotify’s top artist.

Amongst detractors, two of the biggest complaints seemed to be Rihanna’s decision to not turn the halftime spectacle into a who’s who of former collaborators. Yet she was also criticized for “honoringKanye West by including “All of the Lights” in her medley of hits — a song she performed with Ye, which appeared on his 2010 album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Which only goes to prove that you can’t please everyone — though Sarah Silverman has a pretty solid theory as to why the artist formerly known as Kanye wasn’t invited by Rihanna to participate. As the comedian explained during her first night as The Daily Show’s newest guest host:

Some people were surprised that Rihanna didn’t bring out Kanye West during “All of the Lights.” But when you think about it, it makes sense. Because there wasn’t enough space for her dancers to form a swastika.

While the comment was met with some surprise by the audience, Silverman assured viewers that “I can say that because I’m a Nazi.”

You can watch Silverman’s full review of Rihanna’s performance — and how she upped the bar for pregnant women everywhere — above.

“The Daily Show” Reveals Its Next Slate Of Guest Hosts

Comedy Central has confirmed and set dates for the next five guest hosts at The Daily Show. Per Comedy Central, guest hosts have been holding weekly residencies on the program since Trevor Noah exited the show on December 8, 2022. Chelsea Handler is hosting the show this week. This is only her most recent late-night guest hosting gig after she filled in for Jimmy Kimmel in June of 2022. Sarah Silverman is set to host The Daily Show next week, on February 13.

As for the now extended list of comedians hosting The Daily Show, it is full of talent and obvious hilarity. Hasan Minhaj (The Patriot Act) will cover the week of February 27. After that, Marlon Wayans (White Chicks) will take the following week of March 6. Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar go to White Castle) will host the week of March 13. Al Franken (Saturday Night Live) will take on the week of March 20, and John Leguizamo (Violent Night) will host the week of March 27. Comedy Central will announce dates for more guest hosts, including The Daily Show correspondents and contributors, in the next few weeks.

“The Daily Show” Guest Hosts

Comedy Central is keeping an open mind in terms of who will succeed Noah as permanent host, according to Deadline. Also, the network is considering hosting duos and trios. Particularly, Comedy Central is considering some of the Daily Show correspondents for the promotion, possibly even in a team of hosts for the show. For instance, Roy Wood Jr. and Desi Lydic are being considered as a hosting duo. Other correspondents include The show’s other correspondents include Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Dulcé Sloan, and reporter Jordan Klepper.

The switch to a duo or group cast would give The Daily Show a unique edge in daily late-night television. Moreover, this would also give the show a fresh look as it has historically only held one host (John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, then Trevor Noah). It would give The Daily Show a Saturday Night Live ‘Weekend Update’ energy that fans of late-night television generally adore. Whatever the permanent solution ends up being, the permanent host (or hosts) will start in the fall of 2023.

Leslie Jones Went Off On Stephen A. Smith For Slandering Rihanna: ‘You Need To Act Like Your Hairline And Back The F**k Off’

On Monday, Stephen A. Smith probably thought the lowest point in his career was having to publicly clarify that he has never had his ass eaten after insinuating as much while appearing on Jake Paul’s sports show (though most people would have stopped short of “appearing on Jake Paul’s sports show”). But that was before the fiery ESPN host messed with the Rihanna Navy — with Leslie Jones as their leader.

Jones guest-hosted Thursday’s episode of The Daily Show, where she called out Smith for his rather unenthusiastic response to the news that Rihanna will play this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. While appearing as a guest on Sherri, host Sherri Shepherd asked Smith whether he was excited that Riri would be performing at this year’s Super Bowl. His response was… disappointing.

“I don’t want to say I’m not excited. She’s fantastic,” Smith explained… then unfortunately added: “There’s one thing she’s not: She ain’t Beyoncé.”

Jones was NOT having it:

DUDE! NO! Why would you do this to yourself? You know what, Stephen A. Smith? You need to act like your hairline and back the f*** off!

Now, the good news is that he did apologize. The bad news is his apology.

Smith posted a video, which seemed to be shot in the back of an empty party bus, where he addressed Rihanna directly to let her know that she’s a “superstar” and “sensational.” Then came his sign-off: “Good luck, sweetie. Looking forward to see you perform.”

That’s when Jones lost it again: “Oh how DARE you call Rihanna ‘sweetie’! You calling her ‘sweetie’ like you know her. She don’t know you. But you know who she does know? Beyoncé!”

You can watch the full clip above.

Trevor Noah Cooked Kanye West For Responding With A Racial Slur To Concern About Kim Kardashian

Trevor Noah devoted a substantial chunk of time (on Tuesday night’s The Daily Show episode) to discussing the ongoing trainwreck of the Kanye West/Kim Kardashian/Pete Davidson situation. By now, you’ve surely noticed the back and forth, including how Kayne has thrown obstacles into Kim’s divorce filing (which was granted by a judge) and depicted an act of physical violence against Pete in a music video, and Noah has warned this very publicly rendered obsession could take a terrible turn.

Noah, who had discussed how his own mother endured an abusive relationship before being shot in the head (Patricia Noah did, miraculously, survive), did carefully make sure that he wasn’t accusing Kanye of physical violence. Still, Noah expressed worry and wondered, “Do we wish to stand by and watch a car crash when we thought we saw it coming? Or do we at least want to say, ‘Slow down, let’s all put our hazards on, because there’s a storm coming and sh*t might go down.’”

Before long, Kanye posted (as noted by both TMZ and Us Weekly) a response on his Instagram page. He’s since deleted the racial slur-filled post, but here’s a screenshot:

Noah stepped up and responded in the comments to that post. Of course, the post and the comment are now deleted, but Noah (via The Wrap) declared (of the racial slur), “Clearly some people graduate but we still stupid.” He added, “Don’t ever forget, the biggest trick racists ever played on black people was teaching us to strip each other of our blackness whenever we disagree. Tricking us into dividing ourselves up into splinters so that we would never unite into a powerful rod.”

Earlier on in the comment, Noah expressed concern for Kanye’s well-being, too:

“There are few artists who have had more of an impact on me than you Ye. You took samples and turned them into symphonies. You took your pain and through the wire turned it into performance perfection. I thought differently about how I spend my money because of you, I learned to protect my child-like creativity from grown thoughts because of you, shit I still smile every time I put on my seatbelt because of you.

“You’re an indelible part of my life Ye. Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this. I don’t care if you support Trump and I don’t care if you roast Pete. I do however care when I see you on a path that’s dangerously close to peril and pain.”

As of now, there’s been no additional response from Kanye.
