Today, Diddy has been making headlines after CNN exclusively obtained hotel security footage that allegedly shows him physically assaulting his ex,Cassie. It appears to corroborate some of the accusations Cassie made against the Bad Boy Records founder in her now-settled lawsuit against him. The disturbing footage is now circulating online, with countless social media users and peers weighing in. Of course, this latest development has also led to the resurfacing of some previous unrelated allegations against Diddy, including one made by Jaguar Wright during her interview with RealLyfe Productions last month.
During the interview, Wright was asked what she believes will “happen next,” to which she replied “Cathy White’s true killer is going to be unveiled… And it’s not a man.” From there, she was asked to elaborate, and she accused Diddy of having a tape of the alleged crime. “Show them the tape Diddy, you’ve got it,” she stated. “That might buy you a little time… We’re gonna hang you high, b*tch. Jay-Z too, Beyonce too.”
For those who don’t know, Cathy White was alleged to be Jay-Z’s mistress before passing away in 2011. Their rumored romance and her subsequent death led to countless conspiracy theories, which are all completely unconfirmed. Nonetheless, it looks like social media sleuths have been hard at work digging them up.
This isn’t the only shocking claim Jaguar Wright made during the interview, however. She also reflected on her relationship with Katt Williams, revealing that they met at her 30th birthday celebration. “He taught me so much in nine months,” she said of the comedian. “Walking away was hard, but it was when the Illuminati first started coming after him, and I left. In a startling revelation, CNN has obtained a 2016 surveillance video showing Sean “Diddy” Combs engaging in a violent altercation with his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The footage, which aligns with allegations Ventura made in a federal lawsuit that was settled last November, reveals a series of abusive actions by Combs at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. This article delves into the details of the incident, the lawsuit, and the broader context of the allegations against Combs.

The video, dated March 5, 2016, and verified by CNN, shows Ventura leaving a hotel room and walking toward the elevators. Combs, dressed in a towel, is seen running after her down the hallway. He grabs her by the back of the neck and throws her to the floor. Despite holding his towel with one hand, he kicks Ventura as she lies on the ground. Combs then picks up a purse and suitcase from the floor near the elevators, turns around, and kicks Ventura again.
After this, he briefly drags her by her sweatshirt before walking away. Ventura is seen slowly getting up, gathering her belongings, and picking up a phone on the hallway wall. Combs returns, appears to shove her, and then sits down, forcefully throwing an object at her. He walks away again but turns back as an elevator door opens and someone steps out. Legal Battle & Allegations

Ventura, who reached an undisclosed settlement with Combs, has declined to comment on the newly released footage. Her attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, stated that the video further confirms the disturbing and predatory behavior of Combs and praised Ventura for her courage in bringing these actions to light. Combs and Ventura, a model and singer known for her hit song “Me & U,” had an on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018. They were photographed together at the Los Angeles premiere of A Perfect Match on March 7, 2016. Ventura’s complaint alleges that the altercation captured in the footage took place around March 2016. The complaint detailed that Combs became “extremely intoxicated” and punched her, giving her a black eye.
After Combs fell asleep, Ventura tried to leave the hotel room but was followed by Combs into the hallway. He continued his assault by grabbing her and throwing glass vases, causing them to shatter around her as she ran to the elevator. Ventura then took a cab to her apartment but returned to the hotel, fearing Combs’ reaction. Hotel security, reportedly having seen footage of Combs’ violent behavior, advised her to leave.
The complaint further alleges Combs paid the InterContinental Century City $50,000 for the hallway security footage. This incident was part of a series of allegations Ventura made in her lawsuit, including claims of rape in 2018 and years of repeated abuse. Ventura, who was signed to Combs’ label, stated that he exerted significant control over her both professionally and personally.
Since the lawsuit’s settlement, Combs has faced additional civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and other illegal activities. Despite his denials, these cases remain active. In April, federal authorities searched Combs’ homes in California and Florida as part of an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security into human trafficking, stemming from the same sexual assault allegations.
Combs’ attorney, Aaron Dyer, criticized the searches, describing them as an overreach and part of a media-driven rush to judgment. Dyer reiterated that there has been no finding of liability against Combs, who continues to deny all allegations and is determined to clear his name.
The news has gotten worse and worse for Diddy as 2024 has gone on. After he took to Instagram earlier this month asking fans to show their love for him and claiming the truth would come out eventually, many believed there would be more drama soon. That came to fruition this morning when CNN shared a newly leaked hotel security camera video. In the video Diddy seems to be physically assaulting Cassie, something she accused him of in a lawsuit filed last year. Like with much of the Diddy news, fans subsequently pivoted to asking what his most recent girlfriend Yung Miami thinks about it.
Yung Miami’s real name Caresha was on Twitter’s trending topics just a few hours after the video leaked. Some fans took to the platform to try and separate Miami from the ongoing events involving Diddy. Others claim that her association with the rapper may end up ruining her career. Others went digging for receipts that her affiliation with the rap mogul went pretty deep. Backlash to that saw even more fans claiming people were more upset with Caresha than with Diddy himself. The leaked video is only the most recent incident in months of months of trouble dating back to last week. It follows a period of relative silence following the March raid of two of his properties by the federal government. They were in connection with an investigation into sex trafficking that is believed to still be ongoing. Russ and 6LACK are two longstanding names that can rap or sing at any given moment. Both have a true identity and have carved out niches in the crowed R&B space. This weekend, Russ and 6LACK are working together for the first time on a single called “Workin On Me.” It is a track all about the struggles of self-improvement.
The Secaucus, New Jersey native seems to be on a relationship/introspective kick, based on the pattern of his last few releases. “I Got You,” “Work This Out” with DJ Premier, “In The Dirt,” and “Drives” are in that similar realm. For 6LACK, this is his most recent work since his feature on Strick’s “COME ALIVE,” which dropped in early April. Additionally, the Baltimore, Maryland native dropped a three-pack, No More Lonely Nights in March.
According to The Source, this song had been in development for a little over a year. DJ Akademiks is having a rough time in the spotlight right now, as a woman named Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe officially filed a sexual assault and defamation lawsuit against him. However, he still has other things to look forward to and celebrate, such as his 33rd birthday. Moreover, the media personality recently celebrated with his partner, who took to Instagram to share some snaps from their vacation, their celebrations, and some of their antics. It’s bizarre to see this footage when the accusations are fresh in everyone’s mind, but this is all speculative right now, as nothing has been confirmed or officially dismissed at press time.
Furthermore, for those unaware, Abashe claimed that, in DJ Akademiks’ home in New Jersey back in 2022, two men unknown to her drugged and assaulted her. While this specific incident allegedly happened on his pool deck, she also accused him of sexually assaulting her in a bedroom. What seems to have provoked the lawsuit itself (as these claims have been around for a while) are supposedly defamatory claims that Ak launched in late 2023. He claimed that he was sleeping while the two men had a consensual orgy with Abashe.
“Let me tell you this about everyone in the industry. If Ak ever goes down, y’all going down with me. Because I hold no secrets for nobody,” DJ Akademiks responded to the lawsuit during one of his livestreams. Previously, he alleged that large institutions or groups like Roc Nation, as well as individuals like attorney Tyrone Blackburn, are out to get him. Much like the narratives against the former Everyday Struggle host, these claims are also unconfirmed and purely speculative. Whether or not this will fully go to court or see some other form of resolution remains a mystery.
Meanwhile, DJ Akademiks will most likely try to continue his career and share his perspective as usual, including a notorious rivalry with Meek Mill. Still, it’s impossible to tell whether or not things will remain the same for him moving forward. While the streamer’s fanbase is supporting him, and folks divested from his personal life can still consume his content, he’s been in tough positions with higher-ups before, such as his 2020 exit from Complex. Now that he’s more independent, and if these salacious accusations are to be believed, this might fall more onto the court of public opinion.
We first shined a light on Milwaukee rapper Myaap (pronounced mia-p) back in December following a successful 2023 year that elevated her stock and expanded her fan base. Her rise continued just a month in 2024 as she was enlisted as an opening act for Veeze on the second leg of the Ganger Tour. Myaap smartly used the five-week run of shows to debut live performances from her Big Myaap, Not The Lil One project, released just a week before she hit the road. It’s been smart move after smart move for the Milwaukee native, and when you combine good music with that, it’s a surefire recipe for success.
To take things even further, Myaap also incorporates her love for dance into her artistry, making music that leans into it and uses it promote her music as her social media pages are riddled with videos showing off her dance moves. Myaap’s first viral moment came as a result of her 2023 track “Getting To It” which produced a TikTok dance craze that stars like Reneé Rapp, Coco Jones and Meghan Trainor joined in on. You’ll soon learn that dance has always been a foundational aspect of Myaap’s life, just like her hometown of Milwaukee. Her sound is very much tied to the city that has produced notable names like Lakeyah, DC The Don, Certified Trapper, and more. She’s proud to be a part of Milwaukee’s rap scene, and it’s reflected in her music, and the love is reciprocated in a fan base that continuously pushes her to new heights.

My earliest memory of music is dancing, just taking lessons in Milwaukee. I’ve used that early memory and my passion for dancing to incorporate into my music now.
Who inspired you to take music seriously?
TikTok! I was uploading music on there when I first started, and that really motivated me to keep going ‘cause they were dancing and supporting the music I was putting out. That motivated me to make even more music. I was just playing at first, but that made me take it more seriously when I saw that they were really liking it, and making dance routines to it that were getting views on TikTok.
Do you know how to play an instrument? If so, which one? If not, which instrument do you want to learn how to play?
I used to play the piano when I was in school, but I don’t really know how to play it like that anymore [laughs]. I wanna learn how to play the electric guitar or violin, and start incorporating them into some of my beats.
What was your first job?
My first job was working at McDonalds, then I started working at Gap, then Walmart. After that, I stopped working because I got fired from Walmart when I took a drink out of the machine, and they considered that to be theft. I used to make my TikToks at Walmart while I was working there too. I got fired last year in February – ever since, I just started taking my music more seriously and going to the studio more. I was still going when I was working but not as much.
What is your most prized possession?
There’s a lot of stuff I can’t live without. I can’t live without my AirPods and my phone, ‘cause that’s how I write my music. I need that at all times – especially when I’m on the road, to write my music. It helps to have ideas and lyrics written down already.
What is your biggest fear?
Bugs! All bugs. One time I was asleep at home and I felt a spider crawling on me while I was asleep, and that scared me. I didn’t even wanna go back to sleep after that!
You get 24 hours to yourself to do anything you want, with unlimited resources: What are you doing? And spare no details!
I’d just still be in the studio and keep working! That’s what I like to do. If I had 24 hours, I’d love to see how many songs I could get done in those 24 hours. I would guess I could get about 20 songs done, or probably even more if I had some ideas written down already.
What are your three most used emojis?

What’s a feature you need to secure before you die?
Veeze, Sexy Redd, and Rio Da Yung Og. Rio actually already just added me on Instagram yesterday – that would be so crazy if we could do a song together!
If you could appear in a future season of a current TV show, which one would it be and why?
I feel like BMF, ‘cause Meech is from Detroit and I feel like there should be some Milwaukee in there too. In real life, BMF was actually in Milwaukee too, so I feel ike it would be fire if we got representation in that series.
Which celebrity do you admire or respect for their personality and why?
Veeze! He has a nice personality, and he’s very humble. Being on tour with him, I learned that he likes different genres of music – we were listening to the Shrek song (“All Star” by Smash Mouth), and we were just dancing to it together. I didn’t even know he listened to that kind of stuff!
Share your opinion on something no one could ever change your mind about.
I love dancing and can’t nobody change that. People always tell me to change up my dance moves, but I’ma forever do the same dance moves. If you get tired of seeing it, I don’t care!
What is the best song you’ve ever heard in your life and what do you love about it?
“Everybody” by Nicki Minaj and Uzi. I like it ‘cause it’s bounce music and I’ve never heard Nicki make a song like that – it’s different. I feel like Nicki and Uzi work really good together.
What’s your favorite city in the world to perform, and what’s a city you’re excited to perform in for the first time?
I liked Buffalo, New York a lot. Performing there with Veeze on the Ganger Tour was the first time I’d been there, and they’re super lit. They knew my songs and were dancing along with me during my set. I’m excited to perform in San Diego, I’m about to perform there!
You are throwing a music festival. Give us the dream lineup of 5 artists that will perform with you and the location where it would be held.
I would say Certified Trapper, Chicken P, J.P., AyooLii. I would have it in Milwaukee or New York, and use it to show off all of the talent we have coming out of Milwaukee.
What would you be doing now if it weren’t for music?
If it wasn’t for music, I’d probably be somewhere working right now, or somewhere dancing and making TikToks. I always wanted to be a back-up dancer ‘cause I was dancing when I was younger, but I guess I grew out of that. I never knew I was gonna be a rapper, that’s what’s crazy. I saw myself as either being a back-up dancer or working a regular job.
If you could see five years into the future or go five years into the past, which one would you pick and why?
I would choose to see five years in the future to see how far I would be compared to where I am now. I predict I’ll have a big house, somewhere outside of Milwaukee. I see myself having a lot of plaques hanging on my wall. I see myself winning a Grammy in five years, and performing at the BET Awards, and all that.
What’s one piece of advice you’d go back in time to give to your 18-year-old self?
Just to stay focused and not give up. I used to wanna give up when I was young ‘cause I wasn’t really motivated. My supporters, my team and my family all support me now, plus watching other artists and their success all motivate me now. I would tell myself not to ever give up.
It’s 2050. The world hasn’t ended, and people are still listening to your music. How would you like it to be remembered?
I would like to be remembered for doing my dance, and just encourage people to keep listening to me and my music!

Russ’ latest Friday single release is “Working On Me,” a laid-back rumination on a failing relationship set to a downtempo, grungy guitar loop. After crooning and rapping the first half of the track, Russ cedes the mic to his It Was You All Along Tour mate, 6lack. The Atlanta rapper-singer takes over to deliver an apologetic double-time verse admitting his wrongdoings and promising to step it up in the future.
