Danny Brown Details How Far He Has Come On “Quaranta”

Danny Brown’s career is one that will go down as maybe the most underrated in the history of the genre. His gut-busting humor, along with his ability to get serious at the drop of a hat, has made him an extremely versatile artist. Brown’s sound may not be for everyone, but his individualism makes him one of the more memorable figures in hip-hop. He has obviously experienced a lot over the course of his time in the industry and that is one of the topics he tackles on his brand-new album.

Quaranta is Danny’s sixth studio album and first since his 2019 effort, uknowhatimsayin¿ This project is sort of a sequel to his 2011 tape, XXX, which is the Roman numeral for 30. If you took any Italian in school, Quaranta translates to 40. The Detroit rapper turned 40 back in 2021 and he wanted to make this LP about how much his life has changed in the past 10 years.

Listen To Quaranta By Danny Brown

Brown gets into this theme right from the beginning on the title track. “A lot changed since triple X came out / Bought a few cars and a house / Almost had a spouse, got caught up, she was out / Now I’m sitting here, questioning what life is about.” Of course, ahead of the release, Danny put out a couple of singles. Those being “Tantor” and “Jenn’s Terrific Vacation.” For this full-circle-like record, Danny brought out some big names to help with the project. Some of those include The Alchemist, ZelooperZ, and more.

Drake Throws Shots At Joe Budden, Kanye West & Pusha T On “Scary Hours 3”

It’s Scary Hours, once again. Drake came through with the third installment of his EP series, For All the Dogs Scary Hours Edition, this morning, a little over a month after the release of For All The Dogs. Recorded in the days following his latest studio album, Drake appeared to have a chip on his shoulder with old feuds weighing on his mind. Drizzy addresses his issues with Kanye West, Pusha T, and Joe Budden, whose criticism of For All The Dogs earned an angry DM from the Canadian rapper, across the 6-song release.

Although the last time Ye spoke on Drake, it was more or less on a positive note, “Red Button” begins with the Canadian artist airing out his grievances regarding what he believes to be a fake friendship. “Every time you need me for a boost, I never hesitated/ Every time that Yeezy called a truce, he had my head inflated,” he raps. “Thinkin’ we gon’ finally peace it up and get to levitatin’/ Realize that everything premeditated.”

Drake Throws Shots At Ye, Joe Budden & 6ix9ine

However, Drake continues to fire at Kanye on “Stories About My Brothers,” referencing the Chicago artist’s recent barefooted outings. Additionally, he appears to reference Kanye’s verse on ScHoolboy Q’s “THat part,” where he compares himself to Kobe Bryant, as HipHopDX notes. “I can’t wait for the day that you choose to retire your stuff/ Taking off the sneakers ’cause you tired of tying ’em up/ That one day you wake up and tell ’em, ‘Enough is enough’/ That’s how you gon’ find out you not Kobe Bryant to us [laughs]/ Man, you not Kobe Bryant to us… at all,” he says.

Elsewhere in the song, he goes in on Joe Budden. “Imagine us getting our validation from an ex-musician searching for recognition/ Same story every time, they heckle in repetition/ I’m top of the mountain, these n***as still down at base camp, they planning they expedition.” Although we could expect Drake to fire at both Joe Budden and Ye, he took an unexpected shot at a 6ix9ine. “Y’all the type to catch a charge, head to the deposition/ And act like the rapper named after the sex position.”

Drake Continues To Diss Pusha T

Ever since Drake threw in the towel during his lyrical war against Pusha T, he’s attempted to revive the beef, presumably to redeem himself in some capacity. However, Push has said time after time that he had no interest in entertaining that feud again. Nonetheless, Drake took aim at Pusha T on “Wick Man,” rapping, “Man, I remember n***as was joking ’bout some tick, tick/ And now that rapper broke as fuck, that boy a statistic,” referencing Pusha T’s cruel diss toward Noah “40” Shebib on “The Story Of Adidon.”

DJ Akademiks Yelled At By Audience Member Who Threatened To Beat Him Up: Watch

DJ Akademiks is someone who has angered a lot of people in the hip-hop world. Overall, he knows that being honest and unfiltered will garner a lot of attention. However, he has tried to be as authentic as possible, which is admirable. He has grown a massive platform and he continues to do big things with the likes of Spotify and Rumble. That said, now more than ever before, he has been getting pressed for a lot of his takes. Moreover, this has led to some breakdowns over petty beef.

Recently, Akademiks got into it with the likes of Saucy Santana, which was a weird crossover. In the past, he has also had beef with Vic Mensa, Erykah Badu, SZA, and a whole host of others. Akademiks has been mostly unapologetic about these feuds, and that will continue to be the case. However, this does open him up to scrutiny from the public. For instance, during a Figgmunity Live event in New York, Akademiks was pressed by an audience member, In footage from HipHopDX, you can see the whole thing go down.

Akademiks was on stage with a mic where he was looking down on an audience member who also had a mic. “It ain’t really like that! Don’t play with me, pussy boy!” the man in the audience yells. The man continues to threaten to beat Akademiks up, while Ak continues to yell back. Unfortunately, the audio doesn’t get the full scope of the argument. Moreover, we don’t know how it started. What we do know is that Akademiks eventually left the stage, and that was all she wrote.

Draymond Green Suspension Supported By Steve Kerr

Steve Kerr has publicly supported the five-game suspension leveled against Draymond Green. “He took it too far. Draymond was wrong. He knows that. It’s a bad look, and the five games are deserved,” Kerr said Thursday night. Green picked up the longest suspension of his career after putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold earlier in the week. Three other players, including Gobert, received $25,000 fines but no suspension. The severity of Green’s behavior, plus his history of “unsportsmanlike conduct” contributed to the length of his ban.

“I don’t have a problem with [Green] trying to get Rudy off of Klay … but he’s got to let go. He hung on for six, seven seconds. It was a terrible visual for the league, for Draymond and for everybody. Draymond has to find a way to not cross the line. I’m not talking about getting an ejection or a technical, I’m talking about a physical act of violence. That’s inexcusable. We have to do everything we can to give him the help and assistance he needs to be able to draw that distinction between being an incredible competitor … but he can’t cross that line. He crossed it the other night, for sure,” Kerr added. Green was most recently suspended after stomping on Domantas Sabonis during the 2023 playoffs.

Shaq & Antonio Brown React To Green’s Ejection

Furthermore, Green’s ejection elicited a variety of reactions from around the NBA and beyond. Shaq had a hilarious response to the sight of Green putting Gobert into a chokehold. The Hall of Famer’s response came during Inside The NBA‘s half-time segment. After the team had discussed Clippers-Nuggets, they turned to Shaq. The self-described “best musician in the NBA” proceeded to remix the show’s theme song (Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out”) to reflect Green’s actions, instead singing “Mama Said Choke You Out”.

Meanwhile, Antonio Brown also weighed in on the situation. “Draymond Green in Antonio Brown” was the simple post that the former NFL star made on X, formerly Twitter. Brown is likely alluding to the notion that both men are/were “unfairly targeted” or demonized by their respective leagues. Brown, due to his position on the offense, was never given the label of being a dirty player. However, he does believe himself to have been essentially run out of the league for his on- and off-field antics.

Snoop Dogg Announces He’s “Giving Up Smoke”

Screenshot 2023 11 17 at 8.20.02 AM

As one of the industry’s biggest marijuana advocates for the past 30 years, it is to the surprise of fans and fellow artist alike that legendary weed smoker Snoop Dogg has publicly declared that he is “giving up smoke”.

In an Instagram post that went up just yesterday (November 16), Snoop posted a picture of himself with his hands in prayer that stated, “After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.”

Snoop didn’t provide any added context to his decision, meaning if he would ingest cannabis by another means, but his request for privacy merits the seriousness of his intent to quit smoking.

Snoop’s influence on weed smokers was proven almost instantaneously when Meek Mill announced that he would follow in Snoop’s footsteps and stop smoking weed after he claims his doctor told him that he found a “lil bit of emphysema” in his chest.

Kanye West Claims He’s Not Anti-Semitic In Alleged Snippet: “I Just F*cked A Jewish B*tch”

Kanye West has been going through an interesting transformation lately. However, interesting doesn’t necessarily mean good. In fact, this transformation has been downright difficult to watch. This time last year, Ye was going on every single talk show he could and would espouse anti-semitism. It got so bad that Adidas had no choice but to drop him. Overall, there were a lot of people who dropped Ye out of their lives. That said, there are still a lot of people who are keeping him around.

For instance, Ty Dolla $ign continues to work with Kanye. They are working on a collaborative album together, and it still remains to be seen if it will ever be released. Fans are very excited for this project, and while it started being made in Italy, it is now in Saudi Arabia. Ye is making music in the desert and he has a very unique studio set up. Now, some snippets are starting to make their way to the internet. In the snippet down below, you can hear Ye address the anti-semitism concerns, albeit in the worst way possible.

Kanye West In Saudi Arabia

“They say I’m anti-Semitic but I just f*cked a Jewish b*tch I just f*cked a Jewish b*tch,” Ye raps. These bars are extremely distasteful, especially when you consider everything that has taken place as of late. However, he does not seem to care. Instead, he is just doubling down on the attention-seeking. Only time will tell whether or not his new album even comes out at this point. He has scrapped plenty of albums in the past, and we’re sure he hasn’t done it for the last time.

Let us know what you think of the snippet, in the comments section below. Are you still rocking with Kanye, or are you done with him? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed.

Drake & J. Cole Do It Again With “Evil Ways”

Drake surprised everyone yesterday early in the morning as he revealed that he would be dropping a new 6-track EP. Scary Hours 3 is essentially a deluxe version of For All The Dogs. As Drizzy previewed, this was going to be a project with bars only. In the eyes of many, FATD had too much singing and too many slow tracks. People wanted Drake to drop some bars and give fans his best work to date. Well, he heard those comments and decided to show the world he’s still got it.

If you have listened to Scary Hours 3, you know that he is really doing his thing on this project. There are some incredible verses and the instrumentals are hitting. There is even a song with J. Cole called “Evil Ways” that acts as a spiritual successor to the song “First Person Shooter.” Overall, these two always come through with dope collaborations, and this is yet another example of that. Below, you can listen to the song in full.

Drake Is RAPPING Rapping

There are no hooks to be found here. Instead, Drake and Cole can be heard trading bars and going back and forth. It is a perfect dynamic and they do this style extremely well. At this point, a collaborative album might just be a possibility. However, one could say Drake deserves a break right about now.

Overall, this is a great track and it is an example of just how hungry Drake still is at this age. Let us know what you think of the song, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always be sure to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists. And now my paper folded like when teachers don’t want classmates to see your grade
Time is speedin’ now, I see the greys pokin’ out this beard, but it’s weird ’cause I feel like I ain’t even age (Yeah)
Y’all seize the rage, feet firmly planted for these precious flowers I’ve been handed, watch me be the vase
