Ciara & Derek Jeter Are Distant Relatives, PBS Show Reveals

Ciara and Derek Jeter are distant cousins, the singer learned on the latest episode of PBS’ Finding Your Roots. “What in the world? You are kidding me. Derek Jeter! That’s crazy,” Ciara said upon hearing the news. Meanwhile, Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson, took to social media to share his own reaction. “Always knew it! [laughing emoji] @Yankees Captain! @DerekJeter @Ciara,” the Broncos QB wrote.

Ciara was the guest for the show’s January 2 season premiere. However, the episode dropped a little under a month after Ciara gave birth to her and Wilson’s third child. On December 11, they revealed Amora Princess to the world. The pair had largely kept the pregnancy a family secret until Ciara made an announcement post showing off her baby bump in August 2023.

Russell Wilson Benching Due To Contract Dispute, Broncos QB Confirms

However, it’s not been all good news for Ciara and Wilson. Just before the New Year, Wilson confirmed speculation that the Broncos benched him because he refused to make significant adjustments to his contract. “They definitely told me I was going to be benched and all that. That whole bye week I didn’t know what was going to be the case. I was going to be ready to play, I wanted to go to Buffalo and beat Buffalo. I wasn’t going to remove the injury guarantee, this game is such a physical game, I’ve played 12 years and all that. And I want to be able to play, I want to be able to help this team win. Every time I step on the field it’s a physical game. I never play timid; I never play scared,” Wilson confirmed to reporters Friday.

Specifically, as Wilson alluded to, the Broncos had wanted the veteran QB to defer an injury guarantee to 2025. Under the current language of Wilson’s contract, he would receive $37M in guaranteed money if he wasn’t able to pass a physical in March 2024. Meanwhile, head coach Sean Payton, who cited the desire to trigger an “offensive spark” when benching Wilson, denied any knowledge of the contract dispute. “I’m not privy to any of those [discussions], I’m handling the football. I know how this has been written, but this decision is strictly what I believe gives us a chance to win No. 8. Hard decision [but there] will be no other reasons,” Payton said.

Jackson Mahomes Reportedly Facing Reduced Charges In Assault Case

Prosecutors have filed a motion to dismiss three felony sexual battery charges from their case against Jackson Mahomes. Per sources who spoke to TMZ, an uncooperative alleged victim has meant that the prosecution has had to amend the scope of their investigation. Despite video evidence tying Mahomes to the alleged assault of a restaurant manager in Overland Park, the woman has told prosecutors that she does not want to press charges. Furthermore, sources have gone as far as to say that the woman had threatened to say she had been untruthful about the assault and that her encounter with Mahomes had been wholly consensual.

The 23-year-old Mahomes was arrested and booked at Johnson County Detention Center in early April 2023. Furthermore, he was reportedly charged with sexual battery relating to a February incident at the Aspen Restaurant and Lounge. “Like I said from the beginning. Jackson has done nothing wrong. We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would ultimately be revealed. The defense will reserve further comment until the remaining count is disposed of,” Mahomes’ attorney told a local FOX affiliate. A judge will rule on the dismissal motion later today.

Patrick Mahomes Praises Taylor Swift

Meanwhile, Jackson’s brother Patrick recently went viral for singing the praises of Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of his teammate Travis Kelce. The Chiefs QB called Swift “top tier” and said that Swift had quickly become part of the team after she began dating Travis Kelce. Furthermore, Mahomes said he’s enjoying seeing Swift bond with his wife Brittany. Swift and Kelce recently engaged in some pre-birthday shenanigans with the Mahomes. She and Kelce recently partied until 2am with the Mahomeses to celebrate Swift’s birthday early.

In late 2023, Swift was spotted getting a little foul-mouthed with the refs during the Chiefs’ game against the Patriots. The Chiefs ended a two-game skid with a 27-17 win over the hapless Patriots. However, there were some close calls and tight moments, leading to Swift’s animated reactions. The Chiefs, who beat the Bengals last weekend to move to 10-6 on the season, close out the season against the Chargers on Sunday.

There, Jada promoted her memoir, Worthy, by discussing some of the headlines she had made on the press tour. In particular, the two spoke about Jada’s description of 2Pac as her “soulmate.” She clarified: “I said he was my soulmate? You gotta read the book. ESPN cameras caught an image they are now apologizing for.

During the All State Sugar Bowl, ESPN cameras took to Bourbon Street to catch the action of visitors enjoying New Year’s Day. They also caught a woman flashing her breasts on the strip. The moment prompted an apology from ESPN’s Bill Hofheimer.

“We regret that this happened and apologize that the video aired in the telecast,” Hofmeier said.

Will Kid Cudi Go On Tour In 2024?

So far, a highlight of the set of albums that are expected to be released in 2024 is Kid Cudi’s Insano. As fans wait on that, they may be wondering:

Will Kid Cudi go on tour in 2024?

It appears so, yes.

Currently, Cudi’s website does not list any upcoming tour dates, and none have been officially announced elsewhere. But, on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday (January 2), somebody asked Cudi if there will be a world tour in support of the album. He responded, “Yes!! Startin in June!”

Aside from his own tour dates, Cudi is set to open a couple of shows for Red Hot Chili Peppers this summer. In December, Cudi said that in support of his upcoming memoir, he plans to do “a little tour to bookstores around the globe doing signings.”

Meanwhile, another fan asked Cudi yesterday about when he’ll reveal the Insano tracklist and Cudi replied, “Day before the album. Features will be hidden. Ull discover when it drops.”

Somebody else asked Cudi what makes Insano stand out from his previous albums and he answered, “None of my albums was I truly this happy. None. Thats why this one means more than anything else. I went in surrounded by light. I hope u enjoy it.”

The Weeknd Revealed As Co-Writer For Upcoming Film Project

The Weeknd has been revealed as a co-writer for an upcoming film from director Trey Edward Shults. Little is known about the project, but The Weeknd will also reportedly star alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The untitled film is Shults’ first since 2019’s Waves. The film was an indie darling, scoring well with critics and audiences but failing to recoup its $6 million budget. Shults has two other feature films – 2015’s Krisha and 2017’s It Comes At Night.

However, Shults’ 2024 outing is shaping up to be his biggest yet. Ortega is one of the hottest stars in Hollywood following her massive 2023 with Wednesday and Scream VI. Meanwhile, Keoghan comes off the critically acclaimed Saltburn. As for The Weeknd, he will likely be hoping for a better-received screen outing after the critical disaster of HBO’s The Idol. A lot of criticism was leveled at the project from Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson. However, The Weeknd’s portrayal of primary antagonist Tedros was notably slammed by critics.

The Weeknd Reportedly “Ordered” To Film Unscripted Assault Scene For The Idol

As mentioned, most people know The Weeknd as an actor from his time on the HBO miniseries. This generated a lot of unsavory headlines about a less-than-professional shooting environment. According to one on-set source who spoke to Page Six in June 2023, Levinson “ordered” The Weeknd to film a scene in which his character rapes the character played by Lily Rose-Depp. According to the source, Levinson made a surprise mid-scene adjustment during the shooting of a sex scene for the show’s fourth episode. Levinson reportedly “explicitly directed” The Weeknd to have Tedros “strangle” Jocelyn before ejaculating inside her. Furthermore, these non-consensual elements of the scene were not in the original script. However, the scene was reportedly cut from the episode entirely.

Levinson was “by the monitor, laughing and feeding lines to Abel’s character, like, ‘I own you,’” the source alleges. While The Weeknd and Rose-Depp did the scene as instructed, many of the production staff present found it “extremely disturbing.” Additionally, the show’s intimacy director, Mam Smith, declined to comment on the scene when approached by Page Six. The revelation is in spite of the source also claiming that Levinson “does not take issues of consent lightly” and “was committed to creating a safe, collaborative, and mutually respectful working environment on set.”

Although Wack is known for getting into a few feuds here and there, he is still seen as a credible voice on certain topics. One topic that he has been keen to speak on is the 2Pac murder case. Overall, this has been a huge storyline as Keefe D was recently arrested. Soon, he will be put on trial and many are waiting to see what will come of all of this.

Recently, Wack 100 got to talk with Vlad TV about the ordeal. Wack knows Keefe D personally and has had conversations with him. In the clip below, Wack explains how he believes Keefe D will end up getting off. Although Wack 100 does think the man is a bit of an idiot for his comments and actions, he doesn’t think the evidence holds up. Additionally, Wack noted that he once spoke to Keefe D about his comments on the situation and how he was setting himself up for this kind of scenario.

“I don’t think they’re going to convict him,” Wack 100 exlained. “A lot of circumstantial stuff. I think he’s a damn idiot. I think they’re just stroking the ego of the people because there’s no murder weapon.”

At this point, it remains to be seen whether or not Keefe D will be convicted. He is looking to get bail right now, although his hearings continue to be delayed.
