On this day in Hip-Hop history, Wu-Tang Clan’s Ol’ Dirty Bastard released his debut solo LP, Return of the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version. Released by Elektra Records, Return of the 36 Chambers was only the second solo LP by any Wu-Tang member. Largely produced by fellow Wu-Tang emcee RZA, the album had a mostly positive commercial reception.

Peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart, Return of the 36 Chambers sold 81,000 albums in its first week and was certified gold later that year. The album was also nominated for “Best Rap Album” at the 1996 Grammy Awards.

Coming off such a successful group debut, there were few critics could say to discount the record. The Source, Rolling Stone, and Allmusic have all given the project four out of five stars. In 1998, The Source selected the album to be a part of its 100 Best Rap Albums list.

Following Return of the 36 chambers: The Dirty Version, ODB went on to release one more solo album, Nigga Please, before his untimely demise in 2004. Ol’ Dirty will forever be remembered as one of the most talented and unique emcees to ever grace the mic.

Caitlin Clark Offered $5 Million To Join Big 3 League and Still Play in WNBA

Caitlin Clark Drops Logo Three to Break NCAA Women's Scoring Record

Caitlin Clark is positioned to be basketball’s first $5 million woman if she accepts the deal from the Big3 league, a 3-on-3 basketball league owned and operated by Ice Cube.

The iconic West Coast rapper turned business mogul and let the basketball world know he meant business when he spoke about the no-brainer offer to Caitlin Clark.

“Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3,” he posted on X. He also pointed out that the Big3 had a track record of breaking down barriers with female coaches like Nancy Lieberman and Lisa Leslie.

“With our offer, Caitlin Clark can make history and break down even more barriers for women athletes,” Cube said.

Cube even weighed in on the Big3 being a better alternative to earn a living in the WNBA offseason rather than going overseas. “And they should have more than just one professional option in the US at a time when American pro sports leagues are being infiltrated by autocratic, anti-women regimes such as Qatar,” he said. “Our pathbreaking offer to Caitlin Clark demonstrates that BIG3 now offers another choice for athletes.”

Here’s what the deal basics look like based on sources to TMZ, who know the offer … $5 million to play eight regular-season games and possibly two playoff games! That’s it—10 games for $5 mil, guaranteed.

We’re told Clark would also get “substantial additional compensation” generated from merchandising and sponsorship revenue. What’s even more important is that Big3 would still allow Clark to play in the WNBA, and there would only be two games in scheduling conflict, so that looks like a win all around if she accepts Cube’s deal.

Six People Presumed Dead From Baltimore Bridge Collapse

Six People Presumed Dead From Baltimore Bridge Collapse

CNN reports that three Mexican nationals were on the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore after it collapsed following a collision with a container ship Tuesday. The news was confirmed by Mexico’s president Wednesday morning.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said one of those individuals was rescued and is alive as he described him as “injured” but “safe.” Two are still missing, the President of Mexico added. His administration is currently in touch with those families whose diplomatic officials are aiding.

López Obrador stressed a hot-button issue, reminding his neighbors in the north that migrants usually work jobs at midnight and do “risky work,” adding, “They do not deserve to be treated, as they often are, by some irresponsible politicians and with little sensibility in the United States.”

López Obrador’s administration was aware of more missing people, which included those believed to be brothers hailing from Central America.

A father of three from El Salvador was identified as one of the missing, as well as another father of two from Honduras. And these were two men who had lived in the US for nearly twenty years each. Also, two Guatemalans were unaccounted for. Divers resumed their recovery efforts as of Wednesday.

Beyoncé’s ‘Act II: Cowboy Carter’ Tracklist Released With Songs “Jolene” and “The Linda Martell Show”

The Backlash Against Beyoncé is Further Proof of the Need to Teach History

Beyoncé’s debut country album, Act II: Cowboy Carter, will be released tomorrow at midnight on all platforms. The 32-time Grammy winner just released the tracklist before its highly anticipated March 29 release date.

Beyoncé dropped the news on Instagram as she has in the past to preview the tracklist. Notable songs include “Jolene,” a record Dolly Parton previously teased, which may appear in Beyoncé’s second Renaissance installment. Another title that stood out was “The Linda Martell Show,” a notable reference to one of the first commercially successful Black artists in country music, not to mention the first to play the Opry.

Now, get this: It’s not clear if “Dolly P” and “Smoke Hour Willie Nelson” are telltales that two of the biggest names in country music are featured on those records, so we’ll have to wait and see. Reports have shown that Travis Scott may appear in a cameo, but that has not been confirmed.

ICYMI, Beyoncé jump-started her move into the genre back in February when, out of nowhere, she released two singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” both during the Super Bowl.

In a previous post on Instagram, Beyoncé explained why she began studying the origins of country music. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed… and it was very clear that I wasn’t,” she said. “But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive.”

Whether you’re a country music fan or not, the queen is about to drop, and we’re here for it.

Dawn Staley: Breaking Barriers as the Highest-Paid Black Female Basketball Coach

Dawn Staley After Final 4 Loss: 'We Just Didn’t Perform'

Dawn Staley’s name in basketball resonates with the authority and leadership that transcends the courts. Her journey is marked by resilience, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Recently, Staley etched her name in sports history again, not for her exploits on the court as a player but for her groundbreaking achievement as a coach. As the highest-paid Black female basketball coach, Staley has shattered glass ceilings and paved the way for future generations.

Born in Philadelphia in 1970, Staley’s love for basketball ignited at an early age. Despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks, including financial constraints and limited access to resources, she refused to be deterred from her dreams. Staley’s unwavering determination propelled her to the pinnacle of success as a player. Her illustrious career includes three Olympic gold medals, multiple WNBA All-Star appearances, and induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Transitioning from player to coach seemed like a natural progression for Staley, who possessed an innate ability to inspire and lead both on and off the court. In 2008, she took the helm as the head coach of the University of South Carolina women’s basketball team, heralding a new era of dominance. Under her guidance, the Gamecocks emerged as a powerhouse in collegiate basketball, clinching national championships and earning widespread acclaim.

Staley’s impact transcends wins and losses; it’s about empowerment and representation. As a Black woman in a predominantly white, male-dominated industry, she understands the significance of her role. Through her achievements, she sends a powerful message to aspiring coaches, particularly those from underrepresented communities: dreams know no bounds, and barriers are meant to be broken.

The significance of Staley’s historic milestone as the highest-paid Black female basketball coach cannot be overstated. It symbolizes progress—a testament to the strides made towards diversity and inclusion in sports. However, it also serves as a reminder of the work that remains. Despite her success, Staley acknowledges the systemic challenges that continue to hinder opportunities for Black women in coaching and leadership positions.

Beyond her salary, Staley’s true legacy lies in her commitment to fostering positive change. Through her foundation and various initiatives, she champions causes related to education, social justice, and youth empowerment. Staley understands that true greatness is measured not by individual accolades but by the impact one has on the lives of others.

As Dawn Staley continues to rewrite the narrative of what is possible for Black women in sports, her journey inspires us all. With each triumph, she paves the way for future generations to dream bigger, reach higher, and defy the odds. Rick Ross Vibes Out To Kendrick Lamar’s Drake Diss After OVO Boss Invites Cristina Mackey To His Show

Rick Ross and Drake are seemingly no longer friends. Overall, this conclusion was made following the release of Metro Boomin and Future’s We Don’t Trust You. Future and Kendrick Lamar take shots at Drake on this project, and fans haven’t stopped talking about it. Moreover, Ross is on the album, and while his verse may not be directed at Drizzy, there is no doubt he is separating himself from the man. For instance, just hours after the album came out, Ross unfollowed Drake on Instagram. A small gesture that can mean so much.

Since that time, Drake has been trying to figure out his best course of action. He has made some cryptic statements here and there, but a diss track has not been released. However, over the weekend, he did try to get in Ross’ head. As we reported, Cristina Mackey was invited by OVO to attend his show in Miami. She ended up accepting his invitation and was blessed with front-row seats. Now, Ross is seemingly hitting back at Drake with a subtle retaliation.

Tyrese Offers Support and Prayers for Diddy: ‘I Can’t Turn the Blinds On’

Tyrese Gibson Confirms Beef With Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is Over

Tyrese is sticking up for Diddy. In a post-and-delete on Instagram, Tyrese remembers the good times with the Bad Boy mogul, including some storied parties.

“What I can’t do and what I won’t do is downplay the laughter, the fun, the energy, the inspiration, the award shows, the studio sessions, the most legendary parties and events I’ve ever attended in my life,” Tyrese said.

Later, he added, “I don’t condone nor do I support abuse, bullying, sexual assault or anything that is currently being alleged, but what I can’t do is turn the blinds on how much this [man] means to me and all of us.”

In another post, Tyrese spoke about praying for Diddy’s family. Which you can hear below.

Drake Seemingly Responds To Kendrick Lamar’s Diss On ‘Like That’ With A Simple Declaration

Drake found himself in the crosshairs last week on Future and Metro Boomin’s new album, We Don’t Trust You: Kendrick Lamar took an apparent dig at him on “Like That,” rapping, “Motherf*ck the big three, n****, it’s just big me.” The line is seemingly a reference to a J. Cole lyric from his and Drake’s “First Person Shooter,” in which he refers to himself, Drake, and Lamar is rap’s “big three.”

Since then, fans have been waiting to see how Drake would respond, and now it looks like he may have.

Sharing a photo gallery of various shots on Instagram late last night/early this morning (March 28), Drake captioned the post, “They rather go to war with me than admit they are their own worst enemy [crying laughing emoji].”

He got support from notable folks in the comments: Birdman wrote, “Fukem @champagnepapi”; Odell Beckham Jr. chimed in with “Game time” and some laughing emojis; and Kevin Durant added, “Real sh*t.”

Drake’s dad Dennis Graham previously came to his defense with a sarcastic message, writing, “Yo, I am about to drop some new music. And I am not sure if it’s going to sell, but I am going to call some of my homies and get them to start a beef with Drake and get them to unfollow him, and that’s going make my sh*t shoot up to number 1. I’m sure this is going to work, so let me get some people on board for this and watch what kind of attention this gets!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL BE NUMBER ONE 1Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

JT Gives An Impassioned Response To Drug Accusations Made In Light Of Diddy And Yung Miami’s ‘Pink Cocaine’ Allegations

There’s so much going on in Diddy’s world right now. He’s facing a sex trafficking lawsuit, two of his homes were just raided, and he allegedly got Yung Miami to transport “pink cocaine” for him. Somebody used the latter news item to make an accusation/assumption about Yung Miami’s City Girls cohort JT, and JT was not having it.

As HotNewHipHop notes, an X (formerly Twitter) user shared a video from a 2019 Instagram Live session with JT and Yung Miami. In the clip, JT briefly leaves the frame and supposedly makes a suspicious noise, which some believed to be her snorting drugs. The X user wrote, “So that’s where JT getting that shit from? Makes perfect sense now,” with the implication being that JT was getting drugs from Diddy.

JT wasn’t going to take that accusation lying down, as she responded, “First of all I was in the half way house being drug tested EVERY night I went in! I explained this YEARS ago I NEVER did cocaine & never will it actually destroyed my family! Y’all get on her making jokes about shit for shits & giggles & don’t know ppl post trauma! Stop playing with me! PLEASE.”

Another user responded, “JT i luv you but what was u doin in that live cos gurrrl???” JT wrote back, “You ever had mucus? Lol yall are something else on these apps.”

50 Cent Reacts To His Ex Daphne Joy Being Named As Diddy’s Alleged Sex Worker

50 Cent has been going after Diddy for a long time. Ever since Cassie came through with her allegations against Puff, Fif has been having a grand old time on social media. Almost every day, it feels like he is posting some sort of meme about the music mogul. Of course, this has only ramped up in light of the raids that were conducted at Diddy’s home on Monday. The G-Unit artist has been making some wild memes, and has also been teasing a documentary that may or may not exist. Needless to say, he’s having fun right now.

However, an interesting development came through yesterday. In Lil Rod’s revised lawsuit against Diddy, it was alleged that Diddy was paying women for sex work. There were two big names in here, including Yung Miami and Daphne Joy. For those who may not know, Joy is the ex-girlfriend of 50 Cent. Moreover, they have a child together, Sire. 50 Cent is someone who pays attention to the headlines, so you can be sure he saw the news about the mother of his child. Below, he gave his reaction to the news, in typical Fif fashion.

50 Cent Never Skips A Beat

“I didn’t know you was a sex worker,” 50 Cent said. “You little sex worker. LOL. Yo this sh*t is a movie.” Once Fif has a reason to talk about you, he doesn’t stop. Consequently, this probably isn’t the last time he will talk about the Daphne Joy/Diddy allegations. After all, when has Fif ever done something in moderation? The Diddy scandal is one that 50 Cent will be talking about for a very long time, and he certainly isn’t alone on that one.

Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments section down below. How do you feel about 50 Cent and his constant attacks on Diddy? Do you believe Diddy will say something about Fif? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.
