YNW Melly’s Lawyer Puts Pressure On The State Ahead Of Murder Retrial

YNW Melly’s lawyer is attempting to get answers regarding upwards of 20 motions that remain outstanding in the rapper’s ongoing alleged double murder case. Appearing at a status hearing on Tuesday, attorney Raven Ramona Liberty demanded an explanation.

“I made several attempts to schedule the close to, I think, 15-20 motions that are still outstanding,” Liberty said, as noted by AllHipHop. “We could not get the state to agree with any dates and your office then told us not to contact them unless the state agrees to dates.” The judge responded: “I’ll give you dates and then whatever motions the defense wants me to hear, just file a notice of hearing. And just articulate on the notice of hearing these are the motions that are going to be heard. And then likewise, state, if you have anything you want me to hear, you can file a notice of hearing for the same date and time and say this is the motions that you want me to hear, and then I’ll hear them.”

When the prosecution argued that they were going to need a list of the motions, Liberty countered: “I gave her the list. Some of these motions—when I actually gave the list, I gave dates … I don’t think there’s any motion that I have filed that date goes past May. So to say we need time to respond, it’s October. They’ve had time to respond.”

Hearings regarding the motions are scheduled for January 2025. They mark yet another prolonged wait for Melly, who has been behind bars since his initial arrest in 2019. He stands accused of killing YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser. He originally stood trial in 2023, but the case ended in a mistrial. His retrial is scheduled for September 10, 2025. It’s no secret that DJ Mustard and his ex-wife Chanel Thierry’s divorce has gotten messy. Since filing in May of 2022, they’ve battled over assets, their three children, and more. Details of their divorce settlement surfaced online earlier this week, prompting a heated response from Thierry on Threads.

“Although I wasn’t going to say anything being silenced is something I literally fought NOT TO BE,” she wrote. “This ruling was made back in JULY (I went to Belize) to celebrate right after. Now the week I turn the car back to its owner ALL of my business is in the blogs. Of course I know these things are public info, i got that part but the fact I knew u would be so petty to let everyone know you ‘took the car’ and acted as if my back CS was payment for the car and it’s not. It’s just that, BACKED CS.”

She went on to accuse her ex of faking a cancer scare to prevent her from leaving him. “Playing the silent’ [role] while intentionally dragging me through hell for 2 years (u promised u would make divorce hell for me and you did) i have the text messages still,” she alleged. “You made sure your PR team dragged this play each way to make me look bad for 2 years! And You are still doing it. Please leave me alone and stop using me for publicity and record sales. Check the date, after he filed in May 2022 he ‘claimed’ to have cancer to make me stay in the house. I left in July. Of course no cancer.”

Fivio Foreign Turns Up On Braggadocios New Song “Living Legend”

Fivio Foreign is an artist who has completely taken over the New York drill crown. Overall, it was a crown that once belonged to Pop Smoke. However, following his unfortunate passing, the scene was looking for a star to uphold the mantle. Fivio was the one to do it and his verse on “Off The Grid” is what truly helped him ascend to superstardom. Since that time, the artist has been consistent with his releases, from singles to projects. He continues to impress, and his following has remained steady.

Today, Fivio dropped off a new track simply called “Living Legend.” As the title would suggest, this is a fairly braggadocios cut in which Fivio can be heard reaffirming how he got to where he is in the music industry. It’s a song that is meant to uplift, and the New York drill production certainly helps with that goal. While Fivio has been subjected to online ridicule at times, he simply does not care. He knows he has it all right now, and for him, that is all that should matter.

Kendrick Lamar was the biggest winner at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards on Tuesday night, taking home eight total awards during the ceremony. His wins included some of the most coveted honors such as Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Lyricist of the Year.

His Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” helped him earn Song of the Year, Impact Track, and Best Hip Hop Video while working with Metro Boomin and Future for “Like That” notched him Best Collaboration and Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse. Other winners from the night included The Alchemist, 50 Cent, Sexyy Red, and more. Fat Joe served as the host of the ceremony.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards success comes as rumors continue to circulate about Lamar working on a new album. His former TDE labelmate, SZA, recently hinted at a new project being in the works in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Additionally, Terrace Martin confirmed the news while streaming on Instagram Live, earlier this year. “Aye, let me tell y’all the records I’m excited for. I’m excited for YG’s album, I’m excited for Mustard’s album. I’m excited for a lot of people, but there’s two albums, I’m going cr*zy, I can’t wait ’til they drop,” he explained at the time. “Roddy Ricch album and whenever Kendrick drops his album, I’m excited for those two. Diddy Halloween Costumes Reportedly Fly Off The Shelves Amid Mogul’s Legal Battle

Diddy has been making plenty of headlines in recent months for his ongoing legal battle. In September, the mogul was arrested in NYC and hit with charges related to alleged racketeering and sex trafficking. He’s currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn awaiting trial, which is expected to kick off in May.

It looks like the real Bad Boy founder won’t be celebrating Halloween this year. There will be plenty of lookalikes running around, however. According to TMZ, several vendors are selling Diddy-inspired costumes. The costumes include full Diddy face coverings, baby oil t-shirts, and more. For those who don’t recall, his indictment states that 1,000 bottles of baby oil were found on his property during a raid earlier this year.

Diddy’s case has resulted in countless jokes and memes, but his situation is incredibly serious. Reportedly, if convicted on every charge, he could face a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison. Just this week, he was also hit with four new lawsuits from men accusing him of alleged sexual assault. They’re being represented by Tony Buzbee, an attorney who reportedly plans to represent around 120 of Diddy’s alleged victims.

A woman also sued him earlier this week, alleging that he raped her at a Manhattan hotel in 2004, when she was only 19 years old. “When we talk about the ages of the victims when the conduct occurred, it’s shocking,” Buzbee alleged at a press conference earlier this month. “Our youngest victim at the time of the occurrence was nine years old. Diddy Shares His First Social Media Post Since Being Arrested Over Sex Trafficking Charges

Yesterday (October 15), Love Sean Combs, Diddy’s youngest child, turned two years old. Diddy’s daughter’s big day got the controversial rapper to make his first social media post since being arrested for sex trafficking and racketeering.

On Instagram yesterday, Diddy shared an Instagram gallery post, featuring two photos of Love and two photos of himself with Love. He wrote in the post’s caption, “Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday baby Love! Happy Birthday to you!! [heart emoji][heart hands emoji] Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you [cake emoji][party popper emoji][balloon emoji].”

Diddy is currently in the Special Housing Unit at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, so the post was perhaps technically shared by his team and not Diddy himself.

Diddy should remain there for the next good while, too: A few days ago, his trial was scheduled for May 5, 2025. Shortly after that, a new lawsuit surfaced, in which Diddy is accused by six different people of rape, sexual abuse, and sexual assault.

In light of all this, many people have been doing what they can to distance themselves from Diddy. Kesha and Reneé Rapp famously changed the Diddy lyric in “Tik Tok” at Coachella, and Joe Jonas made his own change to DNCE’s “Cake By The Ocean.”

Diddy's legal team is asking for his release. In a court-submitted letter, Diddy's team pens, "This letter will walk the Court through a series of actions taken by Mr. Combs over the past six months that prove that he is not a risk of flight or a danger to anyone in the community."

A woman is alleging Diddy raped her with a TV remote after she stated she beleived he had a hand in the murder of Tupac.

According to TMZ, Ashley Parham stated she was assaulted by Diddy during a “gangbang-style” rape after levying the accusation in a Facetime call.

Parham met a friend of Diddy’s at a bar in Feb. 2018. Not a fan of the mogul, she stated she felt he had a part to play in the death of the rap legend and he responded she would “pay” for her comment, being set up for a rape a month later.

Parham stated she was invited to the friend’s home in Orinda, California, only to meet Diddy who stated “she thought she would never see him in person.” He then presented a knife to her face, threatening to cut it. According to Parham, Kristina Khorram, a Diddy consultant was present and advised the mogul to not cut her face but instead to traffick her.

The woman states then Diddy doused her in a bottle of liquid after removing her clothes, followed by the mogul using a TV remote to rape her after another utensil failed to work properly. The woman states Diddy then anally raped her and three other men also raped her.

The woman states to Diddy’s suprise the woman was able to regain control of her body, grabbed a knife to leave but was confronted by Diddy who offered her money to say it was consenual, even calling his own mother, Janice Combs, to assist in the cover up. The woman also stated Diddy had someone with a live stream of her family’s home.

A scuffle ensued later where Diddy reportedly pleaded for his life and she grazed his abdomen with a knife. After escaping, the woman stated she alerted Contra Costa County Sheriff, Walnut Creek Police and Orinda Police Department, who she believes did no investigation to her claims.

NFL Extends Partnership With Jay-Z, Roc Nation on Super Bowl Halftime Show

The NFL has a reason to dust their shoulders off because the league is extending its partnership with Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment power house, to continue producing the Super Bowl halftime show.

We’re right in the thick of the NFL season and guess that was perfect timing for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to confirm the ongoing collaboration during the NFL owners meeting in Atlanta.

Goodell described the relationship as highly beneficial for both parties. “It’s been a mutually positive relationship,” Goodell stated, referring to Jay-Z and Roc Nation’s CEO Desiree Perez.

Get this, while addressing the nature of the partnership, Goodell added, “I’m not sure either one of us really spend much time talking about contracts. Jay is happy. Desiree Perez is happy. I’m happy, so we’re all good.”

If you recall, the partnership, which originally began in 2019, saw Roc Nation take the lead in advising and selecting artists for major NFL performances, including the coveted Super Bowl halftime show. Additionally, Roc Nation has played a significant role in supporting the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative, a social justice program that has distributed $375 million in grants to various causes.

If you’re curious about the math, while the original deal was reportedly valued at $25 million over five years, specifics regarding the value and duration of the new extension remain undisclosed.

The collaboration between the NFL and Roc Nation began at a time when the league was under intense scrutiny for its response to Colin Kaepernick’s protests and players kneeling during the national anthem. Some called it disingenuous. Others felt it was a step in the right direction.

Since the partnership took effect, the Super Bowl has featured headline performances from top artists such as Rihanna, The Weeknd, and Shakira. Kendrick Lamar is slated to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl in New Orleans.
