Before the season even officially began, Yung Miami and JT came together with Diddy and Fabolous to declare 2023 an “Act Bad” summer. We recently saw Caresha and Sean Combs turning up to their hit single together at the club. Meanwhile, JT has been busy promoting her new collab with Kali Uchis. She’s still doing it with an “Act Bad” approach, serving up plenty of body and tantalizing social media users with her curves in various designer outfits.
The “Act Up” hitmakers often step out together, but on Sunday (August 6) evening, Miami met up with some of her other celebrity friends for a fun night on the town. the Careasha Please host wore a sheer all-black ensemble, consisting of a tiny dress, leg warmers wrapped around her strappy heels, and a chunky choker necklace. Her long hair was sitting back in a wavy ponytail, and she went through the evening with complete confidence from what we’ve seen on her Instagram page.
“About last night! ,” the mother of two captioned her photo dump, which landed on Monday afternoon. In the latter half of the post, Miami included a candid photo that finds her posing alongside Dwyane Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, as well as R&B iconKeyshia Cole. The group was celebrating the NBA star’s upcoming induction into the Hall of Fame with a FWRD bash, and the smiles on all of their faces prove that good times were had all around.
On the topic of Union and Wade, the stylish couple began trending online in the spring after the Bring It On actress revealed that she and her husband split things 50/50. While some are in favour of the balanced agreement, others have been poking fun at Wade for not spoiling his partner more. Yung Miami first rose to fame thanks to her work alongside JT in the City Girls. Since then, the Florida native has never been one to put herself in a box. Rather, she’s only further explored new avenues since reaching superstardom. Among them are acting in BMF and Netflix’s You People. In addition, she’s been hosting her own REVOLT podcast series, Caresha Please. Not everyone was impressed with her skills as an actress (that doesn’t mean she can’t improve with dedication and coaching). However, as a media personality, Miami has succeeded with flying colours.
Not only do the “Twerkulator” artist’s distinct voice and never-ending clever catchphrases keep us laughing, but she also has a knack for developing strong chemistry with guests. Among the most noteworthy interviews she’s done so far include Diddy, Megan Thee Stallion, and G Herbo. While she’s most comfortable asking the questions, it seems the mother of two will sit on the hot seat on another REVOLT series, Drink Champs, in the coming weeks. As TMZ reports, it remains unclear when we’ll hear the rap diva’s discussion with DJ EFN and NORE. Still, a brief snippet online proves that it’s sure to be full of comedy gold.
“I’m the Black Oprah,” Miami declares in the clip above, understandably causing confusion. She then quickly admits that she knows the renowned journalist has the same colour skin as her. Afterward, the 29-year-old seemingly suggests that because Oprah carries herself in a more “proper” manner, she may be perceived as less Black in the world’s eyes. When the full episode drops on YouTube, we’ll likely receive more clarity on the point the fashionista was trying to make.
Elsewhere in the news, Miami received backlash earlier this month after a video of her son at Rolling Loud surfaced. While some internet users expressed concern about the 10-year-old throwing money at dancers, the City Girl made it clear she doesn’t play when it comes to her children. Read what Caresha had to say at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
Yung Miami is ready to put an end to her “Act Bad” summers. Hitting Instagram, Yung Miami announced that she is ready for a relationship.
“I’m ready to be in a relationship & love again!” Miami said. “This was my last summer being outisde.”
Looks at Diddy, does this take you off the block again? Antonio Brown is shooting his shot.
Antonio Brown is trying to steal everyone’s girl. AB was on hand at Rolling Loud Miami, and he ran into Yung Miami. The two took a picture, and AB brought it right over to Instagram: “Told Caresha I’m in the city, She don’t need diddy”
Since being freed from prison in late 2022, Finesse2tymes has certainly made waves him the music industry. His 90 Days project marked an impressive return for the Southern superstar, and more recently, he’s joined forces with J. Lock on “Money,” as well as Kaliii and Sexyy Red on “Shiesty.” Outside of his rap releases, Finesse has also been in the headlines frequently due to his romantic life. First there was the toxic aftermath of his short-lived relationship with Erica Banks. Now, he’s got multiple women on his arm.
Seeing as the 1501 rapper couldn’t meet his needs, the “How To Act” hitmaker is trying his hand at polyamory. He’s had a handful of women surrounding him for Instagram photos and at public events lately, showing no embarrassment about his decision to pursue an unconventional lifestyle. Earlier this week, Finesse’s feed lit up with new photos showing off two of his girls, all of them lounging in their underwear on the couch. Some of snapshots show the couple exchanging PDA, while others offer words of motivation from the 31-year-old to his followers.
2tymes turned off the comment section on his latest post, that hasn’t stopped various blogs from reposting the photo dump and sparking conversation. When City Girl Yung Miami caught sight of Finesse’s antics on @theneighborhoodtalk’s profile, she left a response revealing that she might be interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle herself. “Mood ,” the Florida native wrote, though it’s unclear exactly how serious she was being.
As you may recall, this isn’t the only salacious confession we’ve heard from Yung Miami over the past few months. While interviewing G Herbo on a past episode of her Caresha Please podcast, the mother of two confessed to enjoying golden showers. Read all about how social media reacted to that news in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
The City Girls have made a name for themselves in the world of rap for their unapologetic and risqué rap bars. The duo consists of longtime friends, Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee and Jatavia “JT” Johnson. Their careers took off unexpectedly in 2017 after their diss track “F*ck Dat N*gga” went viral. This eventually led to an uncredited appearance on Drake’s Billboard chart topper, “In My Feelings.”
The City Girls continued to work their way up into the consciousness of mainstream music. Soon enough, they began to rack up hits on various music charts. Now, the rap duo has achieved great success, not just for their music but for their bold fashion and outspoken personalities. They’ve also earned several wins and nominations over the years.
Early Days & The Formation Of City Girls
JT and Yung Miami are Miami natives and met as teenagers in middle school. JT was quickly determined to become close friends with Yung Miami, and the rest soon became history. Both women have stuck close to each other since their teenage years, proving a valuable help for their relationship.
JT has gone on record to share her difficult upbringing marred by a drug-addicted mother. The pair turned to rap, eventually buying a beat from MajorNine. The production, which featured a sample of Khia’s hit song “My Neck, My Back,” became the foundation for their debut track, “F*ck Dat N*gga.” The song was a diss track aimed at their respective broke ex-boyfriends and became a viral sensation. City Girls signed with Quality Control Music and featured on the successful compilation album, Control the Streets, Volume 1. By mid-2018, after their debut mixtape, Period, the City Girls would receive a huge career boost when their vocals were tapped to feature on Drake’s massively successful song “In My Feelings.”
Commercial Breakthrough & JT’s Prison Sentence
After skyrocketing to fame with the appearance on the Drake single, the City Girls experienced a major setback. JT turned herself in to the authorities and began a two-year sentence for identity theft. Much of the duo’s heavy lifting was placed on Yung Miami, who continued striving for more success. She worked hard to get their songs played at clubs in Miami and beyond.
While JT was in prison, the City Girls released their anticipated debut album, Girl Code. The album housed the Billboard charting singles “Twerk” and “Act Up.” “Twerk” quickly became a viral hit and featured a guest verse from Cardi B, who also appeared in the music video. “Act Up” remains the duo’s highest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100.
After JT’s release from federal custody in March 2020, the duo quickly began recording their sophomore album. Titled City on Lock, the project received very positive reviews from music critics. It featured appearances from Lil Durk, Lil Baby, Doja Cat, and Yo Gotti. City on Lock enjoyed a successful rollout and peaked at the 29th position on the Billboard 200 chart. City Girls also enjoyed another viral moment with their popular song “Twerkulator.”
Yung Miami is a mother to a son and daughter, born in 2013 and 2019, respectively. Her son’s father was shot in 2020, and her daughter’s father is producer Southside. She has been romantically tied to Diddy since 2021.
Yung Miami has also released music as a solo artist and hosts a podcast. Her debut single, “Rap Freaks,” was released on October 29, 2021. It was a love letter to all the rappers currently killing it in the game. “Rap Freaks” peaked at the 81st spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Her podcast, Caresha Please, continues to enjoy success and has featured many notable guest stars.
Meanwhile, JT and fellow rapper Lil Uzi Vert have been dating for years and show no sign of slowing their romance down. She is also very active on social media, particularly Instagram. JT is a prominent influencer, showing off her unique fashion styles and choices.
Besides their work in music, the ladies are executive producers of the Max original series, Rap Sh!t. The comedy series created by Issa Rae follows the lives of Miami-based rappers navigating their journey to the top. Rae revealed the City Girls partly inspired the series and that “you can’t do a show in Miami about female rappers and not involve City Girls.”
The first half of 2023 found Yung Miami primarily focusing on her acting career, but now that summer is quickly approaching, she and JT have been back on the music grind. The City Girls came together with Diddy and Fabolous for their first song of the year, “Act Bad,” which was later followed by “I Need A Thug” and the previously teased “Piñata.” Fans of the female partners in rhyme were obviously happy to hear their salacious singles, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t already begging for updates on more music.
Miami was slammed with plenty of questions about what’s next for the City Girls during a Twitter Q&A on Thursday (June 15) afternoon. She addressed some of them, along with others about her on-again-off-again situationship with Sean Combs, coupled with other hot topics. Perhaps one of the juiciest responses we got from the mother of two is confirmation that, if Diddy got her pregnant, she would keep it. The Bad Boy just welcomed another child with Dana Tran last fall, and many thought this would put a rift between him and Caresha.
Elsewhere, the Florida native revealed that she and Combs had their first date at Tootsies, her favourite childhood cartoon was SpongeBob SquarePants and that she has no plans to move out of Miami. As for her more NSFW replies, the “Twerkulator” rapper told us which positions are her favourite in the bedroom, and that she apparently “[doesn’t] wear panties.”
As far as an album announcement for the City Girls, Caresha wrote, “Chile idk don’t ask me s**t fr!” when one user pressed for a confirmation date. What she was willing to spill, however, is that she gets particularly raunchy on an upcoming track from the project that we can’t wait to hear.

City Girls have dropped their much-anticipated single, “Piñata,” just in time for the summer. Yung Miami and JT first previewed the song during their set at Rolling Loud in California back in March. Now, they are gearing up for the release of their third album, having released a two-pack of songs over the course of 24 hours.
Hours after dropping “I Need A Thug,” the girls surprise-released “Piñata.” On the song, the girls rap with some Spanish-inspired flair.
“I’m wet like agua / got him bussin’ like a choppa / P*ssy make him do the cha-cha / He wanna hit it like a piñata,” rap the girls on the chorus.
In an interview with Complex published earlier this week, the girls spilled the tea on their new era. While they have several playful hits in their cannon, Miami and JT are determined to deliver a classic with their third album.
“It’s just a perfection thing right now,” said JT. “I don’t want to put out nothing corny. I feel like we’ve been here too long, and I don’t even want to play how we used to. I want the music to be good and hit. It’s still p*ssy rap, like it’ll be fun, but much more elevated. It’s elevated p*ssy rap.”
Today, Miami’s trailblazing City Girls return with the new single “I Need A Thug.” via Quality Control / Motown. Yung Miami and JTare primed to make it a too make it the Summer to act bad. Real Bad.
With sex-positive lyrics and bombastic beats, “I Need A Thug”finds City Girls breaking down what they do and don’t want in a man. The song turns the corner on LL Cool J’s “I Need Love,” and features JT and Yung Miami trading verses about their ideal man. “I need a thug with swag, like a rock star,” raps JT. “Bonnie and Clyde s–t, tongue kissin’ in cop cars.”
“I Need A Thug”follows “Act Bad,” a recent collaboration with Diddy and Fabolous. Prior to that, the duo left their mark on 2022 with “Top Notch” featuring Fivio Foreign and “Good Love” — an uptempo linkup with R&B legend Usher. The latter was the latest in a long line of outrageous hits stretching back to 2017’s “Fuck Dat N***a.” Since then, they have landed platinum records with bangers like “Act Up” and the Cardi B-assisted “Twerk.”
“Girl, I ain’t even gonna tell!” Miami said in the accompanying cover story. “I don’t know, like, it is coming, and it will be sometime this summer — for real, for real, for real. When you doing a project, it takes time. We’re trying to sit through it and make sure that that’s what we want to put out. It’s gonna hit different.”
The timetable was narrowed down with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on Thursday, June 8, when Miami confirmed the album is due in July (as relayed by Billboard). City Girls officially initiated an album rollout by simultaneously dropping “I Need A Thug,” a two-minute single that packs enough punch to contend as a summer anthem. (Their Instagram and Twitter accounts promise “City Girls loading…” and “#CityGirlsAreComing.”)
Billboard additionally noted that Miami and JT drew from LL Cool J’s “I Need Love” for the duo’s first featureless song since 2021. The chorus also pays homage to TLC: “I need a thug / Sex, money, and drugs / Private jet flights while I’m gettin’ my back rubbed / Like TLC said, ‘No scrubs’ / Cut a check before I even give a hug.”
Last month, City Girls hopped on Diddy’s “Act Bad” with Fabolous, and the single’s video is as raunchy as you’d expect. City Girls enlisted Usher for “Good Love” nearly one year ago, which followed in the footsteps of the Fivio Foreign-assisted “Top Notch.”
If there’s anything Yung Miami could consider herself to be an expert in, it’s acting bad. Since she and JT teamed up with Diddy and Fabolous to drop off what’s already being called the “song of the summer,” we’ve frequently seen the City Girl out on the town, often twerking at the club alongside her besties in designer duds. On Saturday (June 3) evening, Miami gave us a glimpse into her most recent wild activities, which include plenty of PDA with her good “friend,” Diddy.
“Imma give y’all act bad advice ,” the mother of two wrote in the caption, kicking things off which a photo of Sean Combs shamelessly admiring her cake while she throws it back. Following that comes photos of Caresha holding stacks of cash in her shiny silver bra, posing salaciously with a friend, and smiling from ear to ear while turning up in great company. The latter half of her post is where the “Twerkulator” really lets loose, sharing a snapshot of her and the father of six sucking serious face while outside in broad daylight.
Afterward, she gave another glimpse of her bodacious booty, which Diddy happily grabs onto during their embrace. As he glances over at the camera, Miami wraps her arms around the Bad Boy’s neck, showing how much affection her heart holds for him – even with their past drama. To round out the IG post, the Florida native threw in a picture of her and Diddy hanging out the window and sunroof of a luxury whip, respectively.
Even with the constant public displays of affection, we’re fully expecting the collaborators to continue defining themselves as “friends” to the public. Do you think you’ll be able to keep up with Diddy and Yung Miami during “Act Bad” Summer? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
