Erica Banks And “I Ain’t Fresh” Internet Meme Sensation Link Up For Rowdy Track & Music Video

Erica Banks has been putting on a clinic over the last few months, especially on YouTube. The DeSoto, Texas rapper and performer has been releasing raunchy and wild singles with accompanying twerk-filled music videos. Most of them have been renditions of previous hit rap songs from the likes of Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj. While there might be a lot of viewers due to the content of the visuals, Erica has sneakily proven that she has a style that is separating herself from the crowded pack of femcees. Over the weekend, Erica Banks dropped off another track on the platform called “I Ain’t Fresh” and it is going quite viral.

One of the main reasons why is because of the song’s title and music video. If you love keeping up with internet culture and memes, you will recognize a man wearing a striped baby blue Ralph Lauren polo shirt, blue jeans, and baby blue New Balance 574s. Your eyes are not deceiving you either, that is indeed the “I Ain’t Fresh” man from the viral video that swept across all of social media. The original video was recorded by a couple of women outside of a Texas Whataburger. They ruthlessly roasted his fit, but now he is a star in the making.

His name is Derrick Lambert, and he calls Arkansas home. Erica is definitely smart for this move because the video and song is still trending on YouTube. At the time of writing, it sits at number 42 with over 91,000 views. Throughout the hilarious video, Erica is twerking all over Derrick and it looks he is having an absolute ball. As for the song itself, she is rapping with tons of charisma, toxicity, and with a contagious nonchalance. The beat also seems to vaguely sample Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag” by speeding up the instrumental. Check out “I Ain’t Fresh” with the link above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “I Ain’t Fresh” by Erica Banks? Is this one of her better songs as of late, why or why not? Do you think he should drop this song on streaming services, why or why not? Was it a genius move to bring on the “I Ain’t Fresh” meme star? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. G-Eazy Raps Over Saweetie’s “Tap In” With “All I Wanna Do”

G-Eazy has been a controversial rapper for most of his career it seems. Some think he may be in the wrong profession, just ask Anthony Fantano. However, over the past decade or so, the Oakland, California veteran has delivered a fair number of bangers. 2014-2015 were some of his peak years with songs like “Me, Myself & I” with Bebe Rexha, “I Mean It” with Remo, “Random,” and “Calm Down,” are fan favorites to this day. However, G-Eazy is looking to round back into that form with “All I Wanna Do.”

Since the release of his last LP, These Things Happen Too, back in 2021, G-Eazy has been releasing a nice chunk of singles and features. He ended 2023 off with “Girls Gone Wild” with Mike G and Offset. That track got numerous versions such as sped up, slowed with reverb, and instrumental only. To start his 2024, “All I Wanna Do” is here to get things going.

He raps over an interpolation of Saweetie’s hit song “Tap In.” G-Eazy even shouts her out rapping, “Uh, (Yeah) tap, tap, tap in / Saweetie just dropped that pin.” That is not the only person he references to, though. Travis Scott, Tom Brady, and Travis Kelce and Young Thug get their flowers as well in the bars below. The Chiefs tight end can actually be heard at the beginning saying, “You gotta fight for your right, to party.” Finally, there is a callback to Drake and DJ Khaled’s “For Free.” “I go on and on / Can’t understand how I last so long.” Outside of all the references, Eazy sounds good on the track and it has fans pumped for what is to come.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “All I Wanna Do,” by G-Eazy? Is this one of his better performances as of late? Do you think he will return with a new album this year? ScHoolboy Q At Peace On “Cooties” & “Love Birds” With Devin Malik & Lance Skiiiwalker

It hard to believe we only have 10 more days until ScHoolboy Q drops what looks to be an album of the year contender, BLUE LIPS. If you have not been paying attention, the rollout for this album has been nothing short of incredible. From the album artwork to the trailers, the merchandise, and of course, the music, he really has fans on the edge of their seats. Now, ScHoolboy Q is back with another two pack of “Cooties” and “Love Birds.”

These are now the fourth and fifth songs to be released ahead of the LP. Now, for three consecutive weeks, ScHoolBoy has impressed us with the material. “Blueslides” and “Back n Love” were different sonically but offered a lot of great writing and production. Then, last week, “Yeern 101” took us back to the Oxymoron days where he was dropping head-knocking trap bangers. His blistering flows complemented the up-tempo beat from Cardo to a tee.

Listen To “Cooties” & “Love Birds” Featuring Devin Malik & Lance Skiiiwalker By ScHoolboy Q

This leads us to “Cooties” and “Love Birds.” Both are more vibey and have more of an interlude-like feeling to them. The structures of both songs are mainly a verse and a short chorus on the first of the two. “Cooties” is exclusively handled by Q both rapping and producing wise. He seems at peace on this one. The Cali artist talks about how his kids are finding meaningful interests and how much he has succeeded after removing himself from the people who were bad for him. On “Love Birds,” Q takes a back seat to the singing talents of frequent collaborator Lance Skiiiwalker, while Devin Malik once again takes the reigns on the beat. This one is more about the challenges in relationships with women.

What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles, “Cooties” and “Love Birds,” by ScHoolboy Q, Devin Malik, and Lance Skiiiwalker? Are these the stronger releases compared to the rest of the BLUE LIPS teasers, why or why not? Is this going to be the best TDE album release of 2024? Do you think he should stop dropping songs with the album only about a week and half away? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding ScHoolboy Q and BLUE LIPS. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

Kodak Black Drops Some Crazy Bars On “Shampoo”

Kodak Black can either go really dark and serious or just plain goofy on a track at any given moment. One of his most iconic performances has to be on A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s smash hit “Drowning” back in 2017. Who could really forget when the Florida rapper said, “I’m the s*** I’m fartin’, I don’t know how to potty /
Pull up in a ‘Rari, I’m in the Yo like Gotti
.”

Well, he might have another signature moment on his latest single “Shampoo.” This Kodak track is quite the contrast in tone and sound compared to his previous single “11am In Malibu.” It saw him rap over Drake’s “8am in Charlotte” beat from For All The Dogs and diss Boosie Badazz. It was one of his best outings and it shows that Kodak is more than a mumble rapper to those who are in that camp.

However, “Shampoo” just is not it. Unless you are into the funny bars on this thing, then have at it. While some of the lines made us genuinely laugh out loud, Kodak has stronger writing skills than this. Just look at the lyrics section below and tell us what you think. The beat itself is solid but run of the mill at the same time. Some people are making jokes in the comments section of the video, saying, “Drink a lot of coffee, now I gotta s*** again ……underrated line. IYKYK.”

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Shampoo,” by Kodak Black? Is this one the best songs of his, why or why not? Do you like when he acts more goofy or serious on his songs and why? NBA YoungBoy’s Relentless Single Run Continues With “No Time”

If you think NBA YoungBoy is going to slow down production any time soon, you would be sorely mistaken. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper and singer seems to always have something on deck each week. Over the last three months the prolific artist has put out nine singles. But, it has been these last two weeks or so that we have seen him at his most eager.

In just the last week and change, NBA YoungBoy has put out two singles. While the tracks all feature similar lyrical content the production is at least slightly varied. “Closed Case” and “F*** N****s” sees him rap in his loud and yelping tone about violence. However, this latest one, “No Time,” takes a “softer” approach in NBA’s standards.

G Herbo Has A Fan-Favorite With “Get In Wit Me (Freestyle)”

G Herbo is currently dealing with the repercussions of wire fraud conspiracy and another count of making false statements to a federal official. The gritty Chicago rapper is in the midst of serving three years of probation. While it is not an ideal situation, he is “taking accountability” for his actions. “But you know just staying alone, staying the course, and a lot of money for sure. You feel what I’m saying? A lot of money to stay free. At the end of the day, I was taking accountability for a minor role in some s***,” he told Drink Champs.

To help get through this, Herbo is dropping some new music. Part of that output is the new freestyle below called “Get In Wit Me.” He also dropped a Valentine’s Day-themed single “My Baby.” Both of them are available on YouTube only.

Lil Tjay Is Keeping His Eyes On The Prize With “Good Life”

New York rapper and auto-crooner Lil Tjay is someone who like to stay true to his style. He likes to melodically rap over glistening trap beats most of the time. Tjay also likes to thrown in piano loops into his mixes as well. Just listen to his previous single “Told Ya.” Today, Lil Tjay is following that up with a similar vibe on “Good Life.”

The 22-year-old’s last two songs have been more deeper songs that have a theme of resiliency. This is nothing new for Lil Tjay, but he usually delivers some passable material. “Good Life” is another one of those instances. The chorus, which you can see below, is a telling sign of what the verses will be focusing on.

On top of the piano weaving in and out we mentioned, there are also some slight guitar strings being plucked. Both complement the bars that Tjay is providing about making the smart decisions to live a “Good Life.” There are also some violent threats thrown in too. “Switches, them buttons right here, got them things on us / How you feelin’? Come pull up and bang on us.” All in all, it is another solid listen. His fans are certainly loving it on YouTube right now with over 784,000 views.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Good Life,” by Lil Tjay? Should he drop a project this year after hearing his two recent tracks? Wiz Khalifa Presents His Take On 310babii’s Viral Hit “Soak City” With A Freestyle

Freestyles have been a major part of hip-hop’s history. While they are mainly lyrical exercises and are not really viewed as songs per se, they can feel that way sometimes. That has been the case for Wiz Khalifa as of late. The always-high rapper with roots in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently put out a little vibe over Veeze’s “Not A Drill.” What Wiz has been doing as of late is taking up-and-coming rappers’ big hits and bringing his bars to the table. Veeze inevitably caught wind of the remix and he was extremely thankful for the shout-out from the veteran.

Wiz posted on his Instagram that he had uploaded it to YouTube last week and Veeze commented on it. “Mad love big bro 🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣❤” Fans of Khalifa are enjoying that one because of the throwback vibes he is giving off in his rap style. It is understandable for sure, as that was when he was at the peak of his powers, back in the early 2010 decade.

Now, the 36-year-old is back to rap over 310babii’s viral “Soak City.” The single dropped back in the summer of 2023. But, lately, the song has been picking up steam. On Spotify, the track has over 56 million streams. It has helped 310 gain a bit of a following and he currently has over 5.5 million monthly listeners. Wiz brings a rollercoaster-like flow that goes up and down and just sounds good. It fits the fast-paced piano beat to a tee and it may be the better of the two freestyles.

Babyface Ray Spits Over Trippy Beat On “Waymo Freestyle”

Babyface Ray is a sneaky underrated talent who hails from the crowded scene of Detroit Michigan. We say that because there are so many who attract a lot of attention from the media and fans. Babyface has a more lowkey style compared to artists like Eminem, Danny Brown, Big Sean, and others. If you want to size him up to some of the more recent talents, Veeze and Luh Tyler share similarities. Raspy and conversation-like flows with more minimal production. Whether those two names would like to thank Babyface for his influence remains to be seen.

But, Ray clearly started some movement when he began rapping back in 2014. As we said though, he does not seem to get the recognition for his contributions. Maybe this could be a big year for him. 2023 was a busy one for him, though, with several singles and his album, Summer’s Mine. In 2024, he has gotten off to a quick start as well.

On January 5, Babyface Ray teamed up with FreshDuzit and Lulboobie on “Wavy Navy.” Now, he is delivering his first solo track of 2024 with “Waymo Freestyle.” Currently, you can only find it on YouTube, but it is gaining some traction already. Ray is delivering bars in his typical style over a head-nodding beat with wavy synths. This is a great headphone song to hear all of the sounds meshing perfectly together. Give it a spin with the link above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Waymo Freestyle,” by Babyface Ray? Is this one of his best singles ever, why or why not? Does he deserve more credit for shaping Detroit’s rap scene? Chance The Rapper Makes His Return With “Writing Exercise #5”

Ever since the copious amount of backlash Chance the Rapper got for his 2019 record, The Big Day, it seems he has taken a step back. Sure, the Chicago artist has some singles after that release, but there has been little headway if any toward a new LP. It is crazy to think after such tremendous success earlier in his career is nullified by one less favorable project. This just goes to show how unforgiving music fans can be and it is part of the problem.

However, that topic can be talked about at another time. Let us focus on this brand-new single from Chance. One of the things that makes him so great is his wit and fun wordplay. He has put this on full display throughout his career and he does it even more so in his “Writing Exercise” series.
