Yo Gotti’s Brother Accused Of Allegedly Putting $100K Hit On Young Dolph

Young Dolph’s murder case has been seeing some weird developments since its inception, but things are getting even more odd. Today marks the first day of his murder trial, as just a couple of days ago a jury had been seated. Judge Jennifer Mitchell is overlooking it all the main three suspects are still Justin Johnson, Cornelius Smith, and Hernandez Govan. Leading up to this morning/afternoon, Govan has been constantly painted as the possible head honcho behind the murder of the beloved Memphis rapper.

However, prosecutors are making a shocking accusation against the deceased brother of Dolph’s longtime foe, Yo Gotti. According to an update from The Neighborhood Talk, Big Jook allegedly was the one to put the hit out on the Paper Route Empire boss. This allegation comes from Shelby County Assistant District Attorney Paul Hagerman. Mr. Hagerman claims that Jook put out a $100,000 reward and Justin Johnson, one of the alleged gunmen, was looking to sign to CMG, Gotti’s label. So, to earn respect and that money, he was the one who gunned down Dolph.

“Big Jook, the person I told you about before, the number two guy at CMG, he’s put out a hit, a hit, $100,000 to whoever kills Dolph”, Hagerman said. “He has met with Justin (Johnson). He has met with Cornelius (Smith) and they think they’re ready to do it”. They also claim to have video evidence of Johnson firing at Dolph. Given Dolph and Gotti’s history, this makes things incredibly interesting and certainly makes us wonder if the latter will have come to court. Right now, the trial seems to be still happening. So, be sure to stick with us for any more updates later today.

What are your thoughts on Yo Gotti’s brother being accused of allegedly putting out the hit on Young Dolph? Do you think this will actually be true, why or why not? Young Dolph Murder Trial’s Jury Has Been Selected Amid Trial Controversy

The trial for the murder of Young Dolph will officially begin on Monday (September 23), as the court finally seated a jury for the proceedings. Moreover, this news comes from an ABC24 Memphis report from Friday (September 20) that indicates the three men suspected of planning and carrying out the attack will face trial in the Shelby Country Courthouse in Tennessee. Judge Jennifer Mitchell will oversee the trial of the alleged gunmen, Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith, whereas the alleged mastermind Hernandez Govan will face trial on the same day. But this new report is a big change from what we last heard about this case.

For those unaware, prosecutors previously indicated that only Johnson would stand trial on Monday, which left many confused and outraged. As such, it’s still a bit unclear whether or not this new report from ABC24 Memphis confirms that the court changed their approach, or if it’s just a missing piece of information that we’ve yet to clarify. Either way, we will find out what’s going on and who will face trial soon enough. Given that some suspects in the murder of Young Dolph have different charges, this could suggest why authorities seemingly went back and forth in their procedures.

Young Dolph Murder Trial Selects Its Jury

In addition, prosecutors refused to explain why Johnson was the only one who was going to stand trial on Monday due to a risk of compromising an active investigation. We haven’t heard anything about that probe, so we could simply assume that they will have all three defendants on trial on Monday. Young Dolph’s alleged killers, Johnson and Smith, face first-degree murder charges and other related felonies. Govan, who allegedly planned the hit, also received a conspiracy to commit first-degree murder charge.

Meanwhile, a fourth suspect in the Young Dolph case – Johnson’s brother Jermarcus – pleaded guilty to three counts of accessory after the fact and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder charges. Some folks believe that he will testify against his colleagues in court, but we’ll have to wait and see. Elsewhere, Dolph’s loved ones and fans continue to keep his spirit alive passionately and with great dedication.
Rest In Peace Young Dolph.

Young Dolph Trial’s Prosecutors Catch Heat For Only Trying One Of Three Suspects

The murder trial of Young Dolph just got a bizarre update, as it seems like only one of three suspects charged with his murder will stand trial on Monday, September 23. According to FOX 13 Memphis, this announcement came from a spokesperson for the Shelby County Criminal Court Clerk’s Office, and they clarified that Justin Johnson (one of the alleged gunmen) will begin trial. However, many folks expressed outrage as to why the other two suspects will not begin their trial as well, despite the fact that the court scheduled them to appear on the same day. Moreover, the other suspects are the attack’s alleged mastermind Hernandez Govan and alleged gunman Cornelius Smith.

FOX 13 attempted to clarify this development with the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office on whether or not this will be one trial, multiple proceedings, and why the other two suspects will apparently not be tried starting Monday by prosecutors. On multiple occasions, the D.A.’s office reportedly stated that they could not answer their questions due to a risk of compromising a current investigation into Young Dolph’s murder. Johnson and Smith face charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder among others, whereas Govan faces a first-degree murder charge and a conspiracy to commit first-degree murder charge.

Furthermore, this is similar to the reasoning that prosecutors used last month to explain why they refused to clarify whether or not Govan would face trial alongside Johnson and Smith. The latter duo remains behind bars, and they have for over two years now. Govan, on the other hand, saw release in 2023 on bond. Elsewhere, a fourth suspect in Young Dolph’s murder, Justin Johnson’s brother Jermarcus, pleaded guilty to three counts of accessory after the fact in 2023 and has yet to receive his sentence.

Meanwhile, Young Dolph’s loved ones continue to honor his life and legacy. “Today I will live in gratitude, celebrating & cherishing every single memory we created in life together…” his partner Mia Jaye recently shared via Instagram on what would’ve been his 39th birthday. “Thank you for every lesson you taught us, sacrifice you made for us and for the beautiful spirit you graced the world with… May we continue to feel your presence through your absence… and may our eternal love reach you where your spirit resides… Happy Heavenly Birthday my love…”

A Posthumous Rich Homie Quan Album Could Potentially Be In The Works

Since the sorrowful news of Rich Homie Quan’s tragic death, fans of the “Spin” rapper have continued to listen through his discography.

What is even more heartbreaking for fans is he had just wrapped up a new project shortly before his death, which could mean a posthumous album is on the way. This news is all according to the late musician’s father, Corey Lamar. On September 7, Lamar sat down with WSB-TV’s Michael Seiden to discuss his son’s life up to the last moments.

“We had just completed a 20- or 25-song project, and we were in the process of scheduling two video shoots off our project,” he said. “Quan has probably over 2,000 unreleased songs. But once he gets in a mode to record those songs become old to him. And when they become old he wants to focus on the new stuff. He has a catalog in the vault. He has a ton of music that the fans need to hear.”

So, who could fans expect to hear on the project should it ever be released? In the chat, Lamar shared that Rich Homie Quan just wrapped up collaborations with 2 Chainz and Plies.

Posthumous album are an extremely delicate situation. Still, many of rap’s fallen figures including Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, DMX, XXXTentacion, Young Dolph, and Pop Smoke’s estates approved the release of a project after the untimely deaths. Many of which of gone on to shift the culture.

Young Dolph’s Murder Case Remains Puzzling Following Latest Update

The murder case of beloved Memphis rapper Young Dolph continues to raise a lot of eyebrows. Over just the course of this year, the trial has seen multiple delays, and it’s led to a lot of people calling out the Justice System. In fact, the MC’s partner, Mia Jaye, went on an explosive rant venting her and a lot of others assumed frustrations. “My love’s life was taken… And to be left behind to see no one be held accountable in the [court] of law for the act… Is INS*NE. Our family has witnessed lenient bonds being granted, absurd requests for the defendants to get a venue motion, freedom, more time to create a stronger defense, witnessed songs made, defendants enjoying life while on H.A… All while our loved one is 6feet deep”.

Unfortunately, her, the rest Dolph’s loved ones, and fans alike are going to have to witness even more court hearings. According to AllHipHop, the hopeful final trial will go down on Monday, September 23. Originally, this date was only going to be for the alleged shooters, Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith. However, after an appearance in court yesterday by the supposed organizer of the rapper’s murder, Hernandez Govan, he will be joining Johnson and Smith.

However, it’s unknown if Govan will be tried alone on the same day, or alongside his alleged assailants. Judge Jennifer Mitchell gave off the impression that it’s the latter, though. So, local Memphis news station FOX 13 reached out to prosecutors to get any sort of confirmation on the matter. However, the results were futile. “We are unable to release those specifics at this time – in order to not compromise investigation”, they said. Govan, Johnson and Smith all are staring at first-degree murder charges.

Is There A Key Glock & Young Dolph Collab Album On The Way?

Key Glock and Young Dolph have worked together on two Dum And Dummer mixtapes — is there a third on the way? Some fans believe so after the surviving Paper Route Empire rapper responded to one Twitter user’s lamentation that Dolph’s death in 2021 would mean an end to the series.

“We’re never getting another Key Glock and Dolph album,” wrote the fan, with a broken heart emoji indicating their mindset at such a thought. After all, it’s been three years since Dolph’s death and while his name occasionally pops up as a featured artist on some rappers’ records (particularly those of the other remaining PRE artists), there’s a general thought that if there were enough material left over for a posthumous full-length release, it’d have already been shared by his estate.

However, Glock revived hope in the potential for another epic team-up from the Memphis duo with his reply: “never say never.”

The Dum And Dummer, released in 2019, featured singles such as “Water On Water On Water” and sort of helped launch Key Glock as an artist in his own right with Dolph’s co-sign. Dum And Dummer 2 arrived in April 2021, further cementing the two rappers’ indefatigable chemistry, and seemingly setting them both up for superstardom. Perhaps a third album will finally deliver on that promise, giving Key Glock the springboard to the upper echelon of rap fame.

For now, though, all we can do is speculate.

Young Dolph Murder Suspect Secures A Legal Victory Amid Another Unrelated Arrest

Hernandez Govan, the alleged mastermind behind Young Dolph’s murder in 2021, caught a lucky break in Tennessee court on Friday (July 12) despite other legal worries. Moreover, authorities arrested him on June 23 in Mississippi for trespassing, driving with a suspended license, and an improperly mounted license tag while out on bond in the Dolph case. For this most recent arrest, Govan also bailed out of the DeSoto County jail with a $2,250 payment. Then, back in Tennessee, Judge Jennifer Mitchell ruled not to revoke his bond from the rapper’s murder case, so he will not have to return to jail since prosecutors didn’t ask to revoke his bail, per Fox 13 Memphis. Govan will face trial for Dolph’s death in September of this year.

Furthermore, the other three murder suspects in this Young Dolph case are Cornelius Smith and Justin and Jermarcus Johnson. Hernandez Govan, Justin, and Smith faced first-degree murder charges and al pleaded not guilty, whereas Jermarcus took a plea deal for three counts of accessory after the fact, and he awaits his sentence. Prosecutors alleged that Govan was the one who ordered the hit on the Memphis MC, and that Justin and Smith were the ones who carried it out for him. While Govan has been out on a $90,000 bond since 2023, Justin and Smith are still behind bars.

“It is truly hurtful that my family was robbed of a future,” Young Dolph’s partner Mia Jaye said of this trial process. “My love’s life was taken and to be left behind to see no one be held accountable in the [court] of law for the act… Is INSANE. Young Dolph’s Alleged Killers Get New Trial Date

Young Dolph family

news reports have confirmed that the two men who were arrested and charged for the murder of Young Dolph have recently received a new trial date.

Both the prosecution and defense have contributed to the delay of the murder trial of Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith, which was originally scheduled for March, but pushed back until this month. Now, the new start date for the murder trial is set for September 23.

Shelby County Judge Jennifer J. Mitchell was not happy granting the motion of continuance, stating, “I was really anxious to get this case over and done with starting this week, but they both expressed to the court the desire to get experts in. So I allowed the continuance to occur.”

Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Thornton Jr., was shot and killed in front of a bakery in November 2021. Two other men have also been charged for their involvement in the killing. Jemarcus Johnson has pleaded guilty to three counts of being an accessory after the fact, but has not yet been sentenced. Hernandez Govan has also been accused of ordering the killing, which he has denied. He is also currently waiting on a trial date.

Young Dolph Murder Trial Gets New Start Date

Young Dolph’s murder trial has unfortunately faced various delays on the path to justice. But it seems like things might change soon. Moreover, according to new reports, the court rescheduled the previous start date of today (Monday, June 3) to September 23. His alleged killers Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith will face trial. However, it’s unclear if this new trial will also settle the case of the alleged perpetrator Hernandez Govan. He’s currently out on bond providing for his family and on house arrest. Govan risked endangering these conditions by conducting an interview on YouTube during his time at home.

Elsewhere, Young Dolph’s partner Mia Jaye had blasted the courts system for this delay and spoke to her frustration with what she sees as a lack of accountability in this legal case. “It is truly hurtful that my family was robbed of a future,” she expressed. “My love’s life was taken… and to be left behind to see NO ONE be held accountable in the court of law for the act… is INSANE….

Young Dolph’s Alleged Killers Learn Of Their New Trial Date

“Our family has witnessed lenient bonds being granted, absurd requests approved for the defendants to get a [change of] venue motion, freedom, more time to build a stronger defense… witnessed songs be made, defendants enjoying life while on [house arrest]… all while our loved one is 6feet deep, waiting for JUSTICE to be served… talk about disheartening, unfair, triggering and hurtful,” Young Dolph’s loved one continued. “For everyone who is like ‘trust the process’ our family has for 3 years, but the process & system is BROKEN (which is evident across ALL of Black America LBH… check the stats) and continuing to sit back allowing people to PLAY in your face isn’t trusting the process it is ignoring the process and giving room for any and everything wrong to happen, overlooking ACCOUNTABILITY.

“this case is not apart of ENTERTAINMENT which it can be easily mistaken for given Dolph’s nature of business…” Mia Jaye concluded. “Dolph was just as human as anyone else, his life meant so much to so many, he was and still is so SPECIAL and he DESERVES to rest in peace receiving the JUSTICE he rightfully DESERVES… #JusticeForYoungDolph.”

Young Dolph Murder Trial Delayed Again As Defense & Prosecution State They Need More Time

The hip-hop community continues to mourn the tragic loss of Memphis, Tennessee icon Young Dolph. The influential rapper was murdered back on November 17, 2021, at a local bakery and four men we arrested. However, after all of this time, two of the suspects are still awaiting their fate. Those are Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith. Luckily for them, their defense attorneys were able to negotiate with prosecutors to get more time to review pertinent information. According to AllHipHop, they agreed on a September trial, with an exact date yet to be determined.

Ultimately, both sides concluded that they needed extra time to “litigate the admissibility of expert opinions on “‘Timing Advance Records.’” They felt that this would not be accomplished before the trial’s start date of June 3. Originally, it was supposed to begin on March 11. “While both parties are on path to proceed to trial, this issue is a highly technical and novel issue that requires expert testimony and hearing. As such, the parties submit that the present trial date cannot accommodate expert review, scheduling and hearing,” according to the joint motion.

Furthermore, they gave a rough timeline for when this could finally get under way. “It is expected that litigation of this issue… could be resolved within the next 60 days.” This delay rightfully set off former longtime partner of Young Dolph, Mia Jaye, who was not afraid to share her feelings on Instagram. According to Action News 5 Memphis, she went after Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy. “DID YOU REALLY STAND FOR THESE WORDS OR JUST NEEDED AN ENDORSEMENT & VOTES DURING THE 2022 ELECTION? THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DIDN’T ENDORSE ANY MEMPHIS POLITICIANS OUT OF RELUCTANCE THAT MY VOICE & CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD BE USED AS A PAWN, RATHER THAN BEING HEARD FOR TRUE CHANGE… CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING, BUT CHANGE HASNT TAKEN PLACE… PEOPLE ARE STILL BEING LET OUT ON BOND…SO REMIND THE COMMUNITY WHAT YOUR OFFICE IS DOING TO BRING FORTH CHANGE?!”
