Donald Trump Selects Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon For Key Administration Position

Donald Trump has nominated Linda McMahon, who is famously married to WWE mogul Vince McMahon, to take on the role of Secretary of Education in his administration. Having previously served as the WWE’s chief executive, Linda stepped down from the role in 2009 to pursue a career in politics. She ran for a U.S. Senate seat in Connecticut twice, in 2010 and 2012, but lost both elections.

“Linda will use her decades of Leadership experience, and deep understanding of both Education and Business, to empower the next Generation of American Students and Workers, and make America Number One in Education in the World. We will send Education BACK TO THE STATES, and Linda will spearhead that effort,” Trump said in a statement on Tuesday night.

It’s not the first time McMahon will have worked with Trump behind the scenes. After supporting his campaign throughout the 2016 election cycle, McMahon took on the role of Administrator of the Small Business Administration for the former president’s first time in office.

The presumptive appointment of McMahon comes after Trump previously promised to shut down the Department of Education. In one campaign video caught by AllHipHop, he accused schools of “indoctrinating young people with inappropriate racial, sexual and political material.” To take action against the perceived situation, Trump vowed to slash federal funding to “any school pushing Critical Race Theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children.” As for Trump’s other picks, he also caused controversy by selecting Dr. Mehmet Oz as the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as Matt Gaetz as the Attorney General.

WWE and Netflix are joining forces to bring the high-energy excitement of Monday Night RAW to streaming, with a historic live debut on January 6, 2025, at the state-of-the-art Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Netflix and WWE announced that the brand-new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles will be the home of Monday Night RAW’s debut on Netflix, LIVE at 5pm PT/8pm ET on January 6, 2025.
 
The announcement was made by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Travis Scott on stage from his sold-out concert at ComplexCon in Las Vegas. Scott, who will be at the January 6 Netflix debut, also revealed his new music will serve as the theme song for RAW.
 
The premiere episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix will feature some of the biggest names in WWE such as John Cena, Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Bianca Belair, in addition to many other Superstars and surprise guests.
 
This partnership marks a new era for WWE fans, with the much-anticipated debut of live weekly programming with can’t-miss action unfolding 52-weeks a year on Netflix.
 
In addition to Monday Night RAW, Netflix will bring WWE’s electrifying content to audiences outside the United States, including SmackDown, NXT, and Premium Live Events (PLEs) such as WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam. These events can be seen on Netflix starting January 6, 2025 in most international markets around the world.
 
Many of WWE’s top RAW moments will be available to watch on Netflix, plus select programming and historic PLEs also available outside the United States, from January 1, 2025.

Randy Orton Only Listens To Female Rappers When Working Out: ‘They Get My Blood Pumping’

There are few things more important to getting a good workout in than having the right playlist. Having the right soundtrack is vital for most people to getting maximum output, and sometimes what you need in the gym varies by what you’re doing — for example, cardio and weights might need different genres.

Everyone’s taste is a bit different, which is why there’s few things worse than forgetting headphones when going to the gym and having to listen to whatever they’ve got playing over the speakers. That is, unless you have your own fully built out home gym and can pick the music blasting through the speakers, as is the case for WWE superstar Randy Orton. The 44-year-old has been in WWE for more than two decades, and he looks like the kind of guy that is likely playing something pretty heavy in the gym.

However, as he recently explained to Sheamus in his home gym, he goes to a different genre and is far more up to date on his playlist than you’d expect. The Viper is all about the ladies when it comes to the gym, explaining that he has “an extensive female rap artist playlist” rattling off everyone from Megan Thee Stallion to GloRilla and fellow St. Louis native (and WWE fan) Sexxy Red.

It’s clearly not the answer Sheamus was expecting, but as Orton explained, “they get my blood pumpin, what can I say.” I think my only follow-up questions would be what did Randy used to listen to in the gym back in the day and when was he introduced to some of these artists, because he’s been in the gym for decades and I’d be fascinated to know when he figured out that Cardi B and Nicki Minaj got the blood going and the muscles firing in just the right way.

Cardi B Assists The WWE In Announcing Inaugural Two-Night SummerSlam Event For 2025

Cardi B has been making a lot of headlines for her newest social media debacle with Offset. The ex-couple have been putting each other on blast for cheating allegations and more. The former Migos group mate has been claiming that she’s been having a hard time moving on. However, she revealed some pretty salacious text messages that would prove otherwise. Also, Cardi B helping the WWE announce this new SummerSlam format for next year is also making her point in some way too.

According to Billboard, The Bronx superstar took to Instagram to drop a mini trailer for the still popular entertainment company. In the clip, Ms. B teams up with female wrestling star Bianca Belair to reveal that one the most coveted events in the sport is getting some special treatment. In 2025, SummerSlam will be heading to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for not one night, but two nights. It’s the first time ever for this sort of format, so it’s obviously a big deal.

On the Hot Girl Summer Tour, Megan Thee Stallion showed the world she can rock arenas stage around the country. Now, the “Mamushi” rapper’s music will continue to shake up many of the venues long after she left.

Yesterday (September 13), the WWE revealed that one of Megan Thee Stallion’s new tracks will serve as its official theme song. Over on X (formerly Twitter), the company announced that Megan Thee Stallion’s latest single “Neva Play” featuring RM (of BTS) will serve as WWE Smackdown’s new intro song.

“Friday Night #SmackDown’s new 🔥 intro,” read the post. “Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Neva Play’ featuring RM of BTS.”

WWE SmackDown’s season premiere on the USA Network yesterday seems to be a taste of what crossover they have lined up. In the past, several musicians have made a cameo either in the WWE ring (hi, Bad Bunny and Snoop Dogg) or a promotional campaign latest being Meek Mill.

So, Megan Thee Stallion super fans, the Hotties, are on high alert to see what’s next. Megan’s athletic talents extend far beyond her impressive twerking skills as her multiple workout video shared online revealed. However, only time will tell if this leads to anything further. But given Megan Thee Stallion eye for lucrative marketing opportunities it probably already is in the works.

Travis Scott Is Now Rey Mysterio’s Tag Team Partner In The WWE

Travis Scott has one of the most extensive extracurricular resumes out of any contemporary rap star, and it just keeps on growing. Moreover, he was at Fanatics Fest over the weekend in New York City, where he also announced that Days Before Rodeo will drop on streaming services very soon. But another big reveal was when Rey Mysterio announced La Flame as his new tag team partner in the WWE. It was a pretty bombastic occasion, with Scott coming out donning his own custom mask to the tune of his 2023 hit “FE!N.” Let’s see what else this partnership holds, and if it’s a successful one, we hope that we get plenty of chances to see them make some magic in the ring.

Rey Mysterio Announces Travis Scott As His New Tag Team Partner

In other Travis Scott news, he continued to build his relationship with the streaming world by competing in a foot race with IShowSpeed. It was pretty comical and heartening to see, especially as you could see their entourages (Quavo included) have a great time. We don’t always get to see more innocent and playful peeks behind the celebrity curtain, but thanks to this popular avenue of content creation, we have more of them than ever. Hopefully this trend evolves in a positive way, as we all know that over-exposure can also exhaust fans’ attention spans pretty quickly.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott also popped out for at least a couple of shows during Future and Metro Boomin’s tour. Their Brooklyn performance in particular seemed like a truly electric affair, which is the energy that Travis hopes to bring to his Latin American run later this year. Now, we know that we will get to see him on multiple stages in the near future. Let’s see how the WWE’s latest celebrity guest holds up.

Travis Scott Enters His Lucha Libre-Era After Being Announced As Rey Mysterio’s Tag Team Partner At Fanatic Fest NYC

Apparently, Chappell Roan has some stiff musician turned lucha libre competition. Today (August 17), Travis Scott was announced as wrestling legend Rey Mysterio‘s tag team partner at Fanatic Fest NYC.

At the Javits Center, Mysterio made the former announcement as promised days before online. “Are you guys ready for me to introduce my latest tag team partner,” he asks the crowd. “Are you ready? Alright. This man has shaped the landscape for hip-hop. He is an icon. He is also on sicko mode.”

“He is a rapper, producer, songwriter, and Grammy nominated,” he added. “Let’s give it up for the highest in the room, my newest tag team partner, Travis Scott.”

In the video, shared by WWE, Scott quickly got into character dressed in a customized mask as his track, “Fe!n” played in the back.

Now, fans are hoping he pulls out the victory to complete the arch.

This news is part of the WWE’s continued incorporation of rappers into their ranks. Global superstars such as Snoop Dogg and Bad Bunny have hit the ring on behalf of the organization. Even Meek Mill was featured in WrestleMania XL’s promotional videos.

Chappell Roan’s meteoric rise continued to reach new heights at Lollapalooza on Thursday, with nearly every aspect of her performance capturing headlines.

She commanded the stage, had an audience some called “one of the largest ever seen” at Lollapalooza, and her lucha Libre-inspired attire continued her crossover appeal to both of wrestling top promotions.

Nyla Rose first invited Roan to AEW’s All In show at Wembley Stadium at the end of the month, which happens to take place just days before an upcoming show in Berlin, Germany:

Following the release of her 2023 debut album, The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess, Roan’s rise in popularity comes as no surprise. With the world at her fingertips, there’s endless possibilities for what Roan does next.

Whether the eccentric superstar steps anywhere near the ring remains to be seen, but there’s no question a music performance at one of the big shows of the year, an in-ring cameo, or even showing up next to some of the wrestling world’s most popular luchadors would set the internet on fire.

Westside Gunn & DJ Khaled Song Used At TNA Wrestling Event

Westside Gunn is a lifelong fan of professional wrestling. He often appears in the front row when WWE or All Elite Wrestling are in New York. He played fellow Buffalo native Daniel Garcia to the ring before a match in September 2022. The Griselda trio of he, Benny The Butcher, and Conway The Machine are famous for their sports references. He and Conway refer to themselves as Hall & Nash, referencing The Outsiders, the tag team of Kevin Nash and the late Scott Hall. Gunn even has a mixtape called Fourth Rope, with every track named after a wrestler or something related to wrestling.

On Saturday, TNA Wrestling held their Slammiversary event. The yearly show was the 20th in the Slammiversary series, while the company celebrated its 22nd year of existence. TNA used Westside Gunn’s single “Chocolate Face” as the theme song for the event. “Chocolate Face” features DJ Khaled and is the lead release for Gunn’s next album, Flygod Is An Awesome God 3. Gunn previously attended TNA’s No Surrender event in February.

Professional wrestling and hip-hop have long overlapped. Wrestlers have had rap songs as entrance music for years. Wale hosts his yearly WaleMania event during WWE’s WrestleMania weekend, where wrestlers and rappers come together to party and tell stories. All Elite Wrestling has multiple hip-hop inspired albums about different wrestlers on the roster. Action Bronson competed in a match a couple of years ago. Westside Gunn providing music for TNA Wrestling is not surprising, especially considering his own love of the wrestling business.

Flygod Is An Awesome God 3 arrives this fall. The usually prolific Westside Gunn has been surprisingly quiet this year, with no new music over halfway through 2024. Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher have both released new albums already, leaving Gunn as the last of the trio to come out with something fresh. Gunn recently teased a mixtape to hold fans over until he’s ready to drop his next work. His collaboration with TNA is the latest work Gunn has done with a wrestling promotion, and it probably won’t be long until fans see him in a different promotion.
