Festival Wars: Rolling Loud Sends Wireless Fest a Six-Figure Bill for ‘Festival Reviving’

The festival streets are getting spicy. The Rolling Loud team noticed Wireless Festival used content from Rolling Loud festivals to promote their own. In response, Rolling Loud hit social media with an invoice, billing them for “Video footage assistance for promotional use and for festival reviving.”

Ken Carson, Lil Durk, Playboi Carti, and Travis Scott are specifically mentioned in the invoice, and a glance at Wireless Fest’s social media accounts confirms the allegedly “stolen” material.

Wireless is accused of using video from Travis’ cameo appearance at Future’s Rolling Loud Miami 2022 performance in their TikTok and Tweet promoting Travis Scott’s upcoming performance. Lil Durk’s performance at Rolling Loud Miami 2022 is featured in videos for his future performance on IG Reel and TikTok.

Wireless Festival 2023 Will Be Headlined By Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, And D-Block Europe

Festival season isn’t complete with the announcement of international shows. Glastonbury Festival, Afro Nation, and Rolling Loud have all revealed their lineups. That leaves just a hand full of others, including Wireless Festival. Well, the organizers of the annual three-day music extravaganza have just dropped a promotional advert starring British talent Nella Rosa, Yung Filly, and more to share this year’s lineup.

The festival set to take place between July 7 and 9 in London’s Finsbury Park will be headlined by Playboi Carti (July 7), Travis Scott (July 8), and D-Block Europe with special guest 50 Cent (July 9). For the full day-to-day lineup, continue below.

With a roster full of drill, grime, and gangster rappers, the festival might as well lift its vulgarity clause.

During Scott’s previous appearance at the festival, he advocated for the release of ASAP Rocky, who was being detained by Swedish authorities. On the other hand, Playboi Carti had a bad fall during his set last year but recovered well.

Last year’s festival headliners included Offset and Cardi B (who nearly got into an incident with an attendee, as did Lil Uzi Vert).

GoPuff is billed as this year’s sponsor. While 1XTRA returns as the official broadcaster.

It will be Playboi Carti’s second year in a row playing at Wireless. In 2022, he went viral for falling off the stage during his set. Travis Scott most recently performed at Primavera Sound in Santiago, Chile back in November. 50 Cent toured across Europe just last summer. He performed in London at OVO Arena Wembley.

Tickets will be going on sale at 10:00 AM, GMT this Friday. Although presale is available as of Wednesday morning. The event will go down at London’s Finsbury Park between Friday, July 7 and Sunday, July 9. Fans can expect even more noteworthy names to be added to the lineup in the months to come. In previous years, headliners have included A$AP Rocky, SZA, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, Cardi B, and more.

On Friday, Carti will headline with Uzi, Metro Boomin, Latto, Ice Spice, and more performing before him.

For Saturday, Scott will be handling headlining duties. Bryson Tiller, Joey Bada$$, and others will all open.

Lastly, on Sunday, D-Block Europe will cap off a night featuring Lil Durk, Popcaan, Lil Tjay, and more.

It’s unclear where 50 Cent will fit into the schedule, as he’s listed as a “special guest” for now.

Cardi B Seemingly Got Into A Fight With A Fan During Her Wireless Festival Performance

The second weekend of London’s 2022 Wireless Festival got underway on Friday night. This year’s edition of the hip-hop-themed showcase kicked off last weekend and brought forth performances from Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, and many more. One of the big names that took the stage so far this weekend was Cardi B who brought her talents on stage for an exciting performance. Cardi’s set seemed to be smooth sailing except for one moment when she appeared to get into a fight with a fan.

The moment was briefly caught on camera by those in the audience. It appeared that while Cardi was performing on stage, she leaned down to interact with the crowd. It’s here that a fan seemingly grabbed her hair which led to Cardi swinging her mic at the individual. The incident could also be seen on the festival’s big screens, but the visuals were cut shortly after Cardi began to fight her way out of the fan’s grasp.

Cardi did not speak out about the incident, but she did share a performance recap afterward. In it, she thanked Megan Thee Stallion and Offset, who both joined her on stage during the performance. “Let me tell y’all something … WIRELESS LONG ASSS STAGE AINT NO JOKE,” she wrote in the post. “You need lots of stamina.”

Lil Uzi Vert Allegedly Threw A Phone And Hit A Fan In The Face During His Wireless Festival Set

A number of hip-hop and R&B acts took their talents to London for this past weekend’s Wireless Festival. The bill promised performances from big names like J. Cole, ASAP Rocky, Tyler The Creator, Playboi Carti, Roddy Ricch, Don Toliver, Trippie Redd, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and more. Lil Uzi Vert was also among the performers at Wireless, and while his set was certainly an electric one, it appeared that things got out of hand and resulted in a fan getting injured.

A woman took to TikTok, under the username @ccornonmycob, and claimed in a pair of videos that she was hit in the head with a phone that Lil Uzi threw into the crowd during his Wireless set.

“So as some of you guys may know, there is a video of Lil Uzi Vert throwing a phone into the Wireless crowd 2022 on Friday,” she said in the video. “I am sadly that chick that got their head smashed in by the phone. There was someone else but I don’t really want to mention him in case it is not permitted, but yes, there was some damage caused. But the guy got his phone back and everything is being dealt with.”

She continued, “For those who are asking why I didn’t move out the way, if you have been to Wireless Festival before, you will know how packed the crowd is. There is no space to move, and even if there was, I think the reaction time with the phone landing wouldn’t have been enough to actually move out the way in time. And even if I did, it would have hit someone either way. It wouldn’t have hit the floor first — it was head to head.”

A source close to the situation shared a statement with XXL. “During Uzi’s set at Wireless Fest, fans threw multiple cellphones onto the stage and inadvertently struck him,” they said. “He merely attempted to clear the phones from the stage, avoid slipping and safely continue his performance — he never intentionally directed it at a specific individual.”
