“The View” experienced an emotional moment as Whoopi Goldberg reunited with the cast and crew of “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.” The reunion brought tears to Goldberg’s eyes as she reconnected with Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and other cast members. A recreation of the “Joyful, Joyful” choir scene further heightened the emotions, with Tanya Trotter taking over the solo originally performed by Lauryn Hill.

In character, Goldberg donned her nun outfit and joined the choir, performing alongside Ryan Toby (who played Ahmal in the film) and her daughter, supported by students from LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Following the performance, Goldberg, overwhelmed with emotions, was comforted by Ralph.

In case you never saw the film, “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit,” was directed by Bill Duke and released in 1993, and is a sequel to the 1992 film “Sister Act.” The sequel follows Deloris Van Cartier (Goldberg), now a famous Las Vegas performer, who is asked by her nun friends to help save their school. The film is loosely based on the life of Crenshaw High School choir instructor Iris Stevenson.

“Kelly is getting backlash over this from people who say she previously claims she was losing weight by walking. Here’s a point about that: a lot of people are taking this shot because they need it,” Goldberg stated. “Some people need bodies jump-started, some have diabetes, there’s lots of reasons. She has been walking. But this has helped.”

While Clarkson has chosen not to disclose the specific diabetes drug she is taking, her openness about her journey serves as a reminder of the importance of destigmatizing health issues

Whoopi Goldberg Admits To Battling Cocaine Addiction In The 80s

Today, Whoopi Goldberg released her new memoir, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me. The book encompasses her early life, growing up in New York City with her family, and the obstacles she faced as a young adult. At one point in her memoir, Goldberg details her battle with cocaine addiction in the 80s. She recalled realizing that she needed to clean up her act when a housekeeper found her lying on a closet floor.

“I had stayed pretty far away from drugs, except for pot, after getting cleaned up in the early ‘70s,” she explains. ”But Los Angeles and New York started to redefine what ‘recreational drug use’ meant in the ‘80s.” She continues, “It was a really good time for about a year. Then I fell into the deep well of cocaine and sank to a new low. Nobody around me caught on to where I was at with it. At least, that’s what I wanted to believe. I would have called myself ‘a very high-functioning addict.’”

Whoopi Goldberg Recalls Telling Herself, “Fix Your Life”

That didn’t last for long, however, as Goldberg soon found herself at a new low after a two-day binge at a hotel. “Cocaine started to kick my a**,” she recalls. “I’d go to work and realize I was getting sloppy. I was sitting on the closet floor, just putting it up my nose,” she says. “All by myself. I didn’t hear the housekeeper knock or let herself in the room to clean it up.”

“I looked at myself in the mirror near the door and saw cocaine all over my face,” she admits. “Get up, get out, and fix your life,” she recalls telling herself. “’You’ve been sitting in a closet for two days. The View’s co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin, have followed Oprah Winfrey, who spoke out in her televised special An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution, which debuted on ABC on March 18 and the next day on Hulu, about using popular weight loss medications on the market.

Deadline reports that Goldberg said she made the health decision after weighing nearly 300 while filming the 2022 movie Till. “I weighed almost 300 pounds when I was made Till,” Goldberg said while the Hot Topics segment aired on ABC’s The View. Goldberg starred in the film about the lynch-style murder of Emmett Till.

Get this, Goldberg back in 2021 suffered severe back pain and had to be treated with steroids to aid in her recovery process but also lead to more weight gain.“I had taken all those steroids and was on all this stuff,” Goldberg said, “and one of the things that helps me drop the weight is Mounjaro.” Okay, so if you didn’t know, Mounjaro is a prescription weight loss medication in the same world as Ozempic.

Goldberg said she didn’t realize her gain of all the pounds. “I just always felt like me, and then I saw me and I was like, Oh, that’s a lot of me.” Hostin then added she dropped 40 pounds after her own prescribed regimen of Mounjaro. “During Covid I gained 40 pounds,” the co-host said. “All I did was eat. I love to cook and I found out I love to eat. And I was horrified by the fact that I would have to come out on air. So I took Mounjaro.”

Deadline goes on to report that Hostin said the reaction from the public regarding her weight loss was unpleasant, which came as a surprise. “I got all these nasty emails saying you’re too skinny and why did you do this and you’re taking the drug away from diabetics. So there is shame when you’ve gained weight and I had never experienced that kind of shame before. And what I loved about what she [Oprah] said is obesity is a disease…” Right there, Joy Behar The View co-host jumped in and said, “Wait a minute. How is it a disease when you were just eating everything?”

Hostin explained, “I didn’t have the disease, I wasn’t clinically obese.”

“I was,” Goldberg confirmed. In February, Winfrey announced she was leaving the board of directors at WeightWatchers after nine years and was donating her stock to the company to ensure there was no potential conflict of interest after admitting she used weight-loss medications. Good on everyone for their honesty all around, when quite frankly, their health is not anyone else business.

During an episode of The View aired Thursday (March 7), Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts discussed the new film The Idea of You before spilling some major tea. Starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galatzine, it follows a woman dating a pop superstar much younger than her, which made Whoopi reflect on her thoughts on age gaps. “I’ve gone up and down,” she remarked. “Because your age is not what’s going to get me into your arms. It’s not your age that I’m concerned about. Unless you’re under 18, in which case I can’t.” When co-host Joy Behar said a big age gap “could be problematic,” the 68-year-old replied with a shocking revelation.

“One of the last relationships I had, he was 40 years older than me,” Whoopi Goldberg told her bewildered co-hosts. What’s more is that we technically already knew this about the Raven-Symoné admirer back when they were just rumors that her granddaughter spread. “She had a boyfriend that was, like, 90 years old, and she used to go hang out with him,” Amara Skye said of Whoopi on an ABC game show. “Some old white man named John, and he was like a billionaire. She used to sneak off and have [sex] appointments, randomly.”

“Apparently, they said I was on the island,” Goldberg began. “And I don’t go anywhere! So I’m just going to say — and there’s just been a lot of stuff recently, I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody — but apparently there are a lot of the [tabloid] sites [and] people don’t realize they can be harmful.”

Whoopi Goldberg wants the Internet to leave her name out of rumors of being a client of Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking on The View, Goldberg attempted to clear her name.

“I’m just gonna say, there’s been a lot of stuff recently,” Goldberg said. “I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody, but apparently there are a lot of these kind of sites that are satire sites. But people don’t realize that they can be harmful, so let me just get my part out. I have to explain, because there was a fake list, and I’m on it.

“Apparently. I don’t know. they said I was on the island, and I’m like, ‘I don’t go anywhere!’”

The long-promised release of the Jeffrey Epstein documents occurred on Wednesday. According to CNN, this is the first set of docs to be released, which will have a total of 200 names of people who interacted with the deceased sex trafficker.

The documents are expected to list nearly 200 names, including accusers, businesspeople, politicians, and more.

The initial documents did not bring shock, but records showed Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Michael Jackson had interactions with Epstein, according to The Blast. Clinton was stated to have dinner with a woman on Epstein’s island. A woman stated she met The King of Pope at Epstein’s home in Palm Beach.

Insider the document is a deposition from Joanna Sjoberg, who stated she was touched by Prince Andrew on her breast while taking photos, and she also was told Clinton “likes them young, referring to girls.”

Clinton’s spokesman confirmed a visit in 2019 but was unaware of “terrible crimes.” Representatives for Prince Andrew have not made a statement.

‘The View’s Joy Behar Called Travis Kelce ‘Illiterate’ And Hopes Taylor Swift Won’t Be ‘Stuck With This Idiot’

Joy Behar did not hold back her thoughts on The View as the panel recently unearthed tweets from Travis Kelce that showed the NFL star expressing some immature thoughts about women during his college career. As a self-avowed Swiftie, Behar became immediately concerned for Taylor Swift and got very blunt that she hopes the pop sensation breaks up with Kelce.

“Here’s one of his [tweets], ‘Damn, the Clippers girls gotta be the girls that don’t make the Lakers team ’cause they was all ugly,’” Behar read during Thursday’s episode of the talk show.

She then read two more of his old tweets: “Why can’t girls hide they back fat?” and “I feel like if you want to be a cheerleader, you have to pass a beauty test. There’s too many ugly cheerleaders out here.”

Behar did not hide her disgust with Kelce’s old tweets and called him “illiterate.” However, Whoopi Goldberg came to Kelce’s defense.

“Young people do young people stuff,” Goldberg said. “What you said 25 years ago, may not be the way that you feel this time. So everybody needs to lighten up and let these people do what they want to do.”

When Goldberg pressed Behar on why she was so “fixated” on Kelce’s social media posts, The View co-host affirmed her Taylor Swift fandom.

“I’m a Swiftie,” Behar said. “I love her because she’s getting young people out to vote so I don’t want her to be stuck with this idiot.”
