In an odd twist for The View, co-host Joy Behar took a moment to express her sympathy for the predominantly right-wing horde of men who have been frothing at the mouth over Taylor Swift attending NFL games and, presumably, the upcoming Super Bowl.

Swift has been dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, and with his team now headed to the big game, conservatives have latched onto a wild conspiracy theory that the CIA orchestrated the Chiefs’ AFC victory so Swift can endorse Biden during the massive sporting event. It’s all pretty nuts, and Behar feels “sorry” for the men who are launching these hare-brained attacks.

“I do! No, I’m not making a joke,” Behar said. “I feel for them because things have not gone their way. There are fewer jobs for them, a lot of these guys … college enrollment for men [is] down. They were up 60%, now it’s 41%. Women are moving ahead like crazy.”

To be clear, Behar qualified her remarks by saying these men should try working harder and seek out therapy. Via Decider:

“Look, as a woman comedian, I felt like it was harder for me,” but she added, “I didn’t say, ‘Oh, I resent that the men can do it better or that they get a better audience.’ I tried to work harder.”

Behar then suggested “these guys” try out therapy.

“Go get a shrink!” she exclaimed. “I mean, they don’t consider it masculine to be in therapy. It is not about masculine, feminine. It’s about your brain. They need some help, and that’s why I feel sorry for them.”

Despite being sympathetic to their plight, Behar made a point to highlight the severity of the situation.

“These kind of guys can be dangerous,” she said. “They have guns, a lot of them. I feel sorry — at the same time, I’m worried.”

‘The View’s Joy Behar Called Travis Kelce ‘Illiterate’ And Hopes Taylor Swift Won’t Be ‘Stuck With This Idiot’

Joy Behar did not hold back her thoughts on The View as the panel recently unearthed tweets from Travis Kelce that showed the NFL star expressing some immature thoughts about women during his college career. As a self-avowed Swiftie, Behar became immediately concerned for Taylor Swift and got very blunt that she hopes the pop sensation breaks up with Kelce.

“Here’s one of his [tweets], ‘Damn, the Clippers girls gotta be the girls that don’t make the Lakers team ’cause they was all ugly,’” Behar read during Thursday’s episode of the talk show.

She then read two more of his old tweets: “Why can’t girls hide they back fat?” and “I feel like if you want to be a cheerleader, you have to pass a beauty test. There’s too many ugly cheerleaders out here.”

Behar did not hide her disgust with Kelce’s old tweets and called him “illiterate.” However, Whoopi Goldberg came to Kelce’s defense.

“Young people do young people stuff,” Goldberg said. “What you said 25 years ago, may not be the way that you feel this time. So everybody needs to lighten up and let these people do what they want to do.”

When Goldberg pressed Behar on why she was so “fixated” on Kelce’s social media posts, The View co-host affirmed her Taylor Swift fandom.

“I’m a Swiftie,” Behar said. “I love her because she’s getting young people out to vote so I don’t want her to be stuck with this idiot.”

The Kid Rock Apology Lightning Round: Oprah (No Apology), Joy Behar (No Apology), Kathie Lee Gifford (Apology… Kind Of)

Apparently, Kid Rock and Tucker Carlson aren’t done bro-ing out. The two appeared in a new episode of Tucker Carlson Originals on Fox Nation where the rocker doubled down on his 2019 drunken on-stage rant that infamously blew up on TMZ. While Rock refused to apologize for the part of the tirade that targeted Oprah Winfrey, and Joy Behar, he did admit to feeling bad about including Kathie Lee Gifford because, as it turns out, that last part was an honest (drunken) (kind of hilarious) mistake. In Rock’s defense, Gifford’s name does sound a little similar to his intended target. (Again, kind of.)

Via Entertainment Weekly:

“I was trying to go after Kathy Griffin you know, for holding up Trump’s head, but I’m so out of it I’m like ‘f— Kathie Lee Gifford.’” he said. “When it comes back on TMZ or whatever a few weeks later I’m like ‘oh man, I like Kathie Lee Gifford.’ We’ve been kind of friendly throughout the years… now I feel a little bad.”

Rock did not reveal whether he apologized to Gifford for the mix-up or not, but his declaration that “I don’t apologize to anybody” doesn’t bode well. In fact, Rock still seems proud of the whole thing.

“A drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts, I own what I said,” Rock told Carlson. Like he said in the on-stage rant, he’s just a “cowboy” and a “honest guy,” and if a few names get mixed up when he’s had a few too many, them’s the breaks, apparently.
