2 Chainz Used To Be Lil Wayne’s Weed Dealer

During their recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne opened up about how they first began working together. According to Lil Wayne, they first met at a studio in Atlanta, and had great chemistry from the start. “I mean, once we linked up, we were friends from there,” he explained. “Just same type of attitude, cool, but I didn’t know he rapped at the time.”

While they weren’t yet connected through their music, they had come together through another one of their passions- weed. “Uh… Wayne wanted cannabis,” 2 Chainz revealed. Lil Wayne elaborated, “And so every time I would go to Atlanta and I wanted to speak about that one thing [marijuana], I would always call this guy [2 Chainz] to talk about that.”

2 Chainz & Lil Wayne Explain How They Met

Eventually, 2 Chainz let the cat out of the bag that he can rap, playing Lil Wayne the track “Duffle Bag Boy.” Right away, he was in. “The moment he said he rapped and the moment I heard it, we got to the studio, and I did this hook for the song, ‘Duffle Bag Boy.’ And the rest is history,” he explained. Clearly, the duo have come a long way since they first started collaborating, as they’re only weeks away from their follow-up to 2016’s ColleGrove.

The sequel, Welcome 2 ColleGrove, is slated for release on November 17. “Me and Wayne’s album drops next month. This is a full circle moment,” 2 Chainz announced during an interview in September. “It was built on a relationship. Wayne at the time, was the hottest artist in the world. He could’ve charged me eight million, but he didn’t.” Are you surprised that 2 Chainz is Lil Wayne’s former weed dealer? Are you looking forward to their upcoming album, Welcome 2 ColleGrove? Ice Spice Smokes Weed On IG, Haters Say She “Just Lost All Her Charm”

Social media hardly bats an eye at celebrities who regularly indulge in drinking. When it comes to smoking weed or other substances, however, artists are often condemned. Doja Cat has faced regular backlash for hitting her vape (even on the Met Gala red carpet, despite Anna Wintour’s famous rule), and Cardi B had to call out those criticizing her for smoking a cigarette on her birthday earlier this week. Now, it’s Ice Spice who’s feeling the heat. A video of the “Munch” spitter hitting a blunt on her Instagram Story seemingly turned off several of her Munchkins.

In the recently posted clip, Isis Gaston casually smokes while seemingly riding on a bus. It’s unclear who’s in her company. Male voices are heard from off camera, raising eyebrows after she confirmed that there’s a new lover in her life whom she wants to keep secret. Once the video was uploaded on IG, it wasn’t long before haters began to share their thoughts. “[She] just lost all her charm,” one user suggested.

“She never had charm, just a fat a**,” another user chimed in. “They gon cook [you] for this,” one reply to that post reads, obviously awaiting Spice’s loyal fans to stick up for her. “This is not attractive at all,” and “I thought she was different,” others wrote after seeing the 23-year-old’s incriminating video. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but a @nojumper comment points out, “[You] ain’t expect a drill rapper out the [Bronx] to smoke? What kinda Fenty snortin’? Talkin’ ’bout losing her charm 😂.”

Not everyone is impressed with Ice Spice’s occasional indulgence in weed. Still, her latest single is already earning a lot of positive attention online. For her latest collaboration, the redhead teamed up with Rema to give us a new sound on “Pretty Girl.” Check that out at the link below, and tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Dr. Dre Turned Down Opportunity To Make “The Chronic” Weed Strain, Berner Recalls

During his recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Berner revealed that Dr. Dre once turned down his idea to team up to produce a strain of weed called “The Chronic.” According to Berner, the performer was concerned about getting himself into the industry before weed was federally legal, which is why he declined the offer. Despite him passing on the opportunity, Berner reflected on the memory of meeting with Dr. Dre “three or four years ago” fondly.

“Dre sat down with me and I showed him a jar of what we wanted to call ‘The Chronic,’” Berner explained. “It was by far the best-looking weed we’ve ever produced — it was incredible, beautiful, it was orange, purple, funky, stanky … it looked like it was out of a f*cking movie, how good this weed looked.”

“I showed him ‘The Chronic’ and he was just like, ‘yeah, I f*ck with it I appreciate Slim [the Mobster] putting this play together and, y’know, we’ll think about it, but like I don’t know if I really want to put myself in the industry.’” According to Berner, Dr. Dre told him that since he had already managed to make it big, he didn’t want to put everything on the line with a venture into the weed space. “He told me, ‘I got money money and I don’t really want to play with that until, y’know, maybe it’s federally legal,” he explained. “‘I just don’t want to risk it.’”

Though the strain surely would have been a hit among fans, nobody can blame the 58-year-old for opting to play it safe. What do you think of Dr. Dre turning down Berner’s offer to produce “The Chronic” weed? Would you have given the strain a try if Dr. Dre had agreed to Berner’s idea? Boosie Badazz Details Wild Nightmares Amid Marijuana Withdrawals

During a recent interview with VladTV, Boosie Badazz opened up about some of the conditions he has to follow while out on bond in his gun case. The rapper spoke on some of the ins and outs of wearing his ankle monitor, revealing that he has to wrap it up to even take a shower. Although wearing the device does have it’s downsides, the rapper claims that it’s also working to help keep him out of trouble. “I can’t go out at night,” he explains, “I gotta be in [by] ten at night.” Despite the curfew, Boosie’s been given clearance to perform still, regardless of the timeframe.

He described feeling grateful for the judge’s leniency in his case, claiming that he hasn’t been able to detect any “hate in her heart.” Despite the court’s leniency, however, Boosie also has to refrain from using substances while out on bond. This includes marijuana, which Boosie was a frequent user of. He shared that although the process of quitting is difficult, he’s actually felt better since he did.

Up To 80% Of NFL Players Smoke Weed, According To Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. After playing as a hybrid QB/TE for the University of Cincinnati, he was taken in the third round of the 2013 draft by the Chiefs. From there, he has blossomed into one of the league’s greatest-ever tight ends. He became TE1 for the Chiefs in his sophomore year and currently holds a host of records at the position. Furthermore, he sits fourth all-time in receiving yards for a tight end as he enters his tenth NFL season.

But we’re not here to talk about Travis Kelce. Instead, we’re here to make talk about a bold claim he made in a recent interview. According to Kelce, between 50 and 80 percent of all NFL players smoke weed. Additionally, Kelce revealed just how players get away with such a prevalent practice.

Kelce Shares NFL Weed Smoking Secrets

Speaking with Vanity Fair, Kelce revealed how NFL players typically get away with smoking weed. “If you just stop in the middle of July, you’re fine. A lot of guys stop a week before and they still pass because everybody’s working out in the heat and sweating their tail off. Nobody’s really getting hit for it anymore.” In 2021, the NFL relaxed its stance on marijuana. Players were only tested in a two-week window before the season, as opposed to more rigorous testing schedules. Furthermore, the threshold for a positive test was raised from 35ng/ml to 150ng/ml.

While Kelce hasn’t been suspended during his time in the NFL for smoking the good kush, he was in college. He missed the entire 2009 season for violating the NCAA’s marijuana policy. Meanwhile, Kansas City legalized recreational weed this year. As a result, there are just six teams still located in states where weed is illegal under all circumstances. They are both Texas teams, the Falcons, Panthers, Packers, and Colts. However, if what Kelce says is true, it’s like that’s not stopping players lighting up.

2 Chainz Reflects On Housekeeper Stealing His Weed

2 Chainz recently hopped on social media to share a story with his fans. He revealed that once while on vacation, a housekeeper of his stole weed from his hotel room. He explains that the housekeeper then proceeded to help the rapper search for the stolen goods. “I ain’t trippin’ I respect it,” the rapper says while laughing about the incident. “God dang I had backup,” he continues, adding that the housekeeper’s behavior was that of a “real Soufside N***a.” Instagram users leaped to the comments section of the clip, joking that 2 Chainz “know how the game go.”

Though he may not have tripped about the stolen weed, he did trip about the price of vegan weed last month. On an episode of GQ‘s Most Expensivest, 2 Chainz spoke with cannabis cultivator Kyle Kushman about his “veganic” weed. When Kushman revealed that the product costs “pretty damn near a $1,000 an ounce,” the rapper couldn’t believe it. “What?!?” he shouted, “Hell naw!” He want on to ask for clarification. “A $1,000 for a zip? $1,000 for 28 grams?” 2 Chainz then added, “That s**t, sometimes when you make it that expensive, it make people want it, you know what I’m saying?”

2 Chainz told his followers, “I have so many items and memories of Trappy. Can’t believe I won’t hear you snoring no more. 2 Chainz Says “Hell naw!” To Vegan Weed, Son Reveals A Booking Costs $50K

Over the weekend, Georgia rapper 2 Chainz shared his feelings on organic vegan weed in an episode of GQ‘s Most Expensivest. The series, hosted by the rapper, showcases him trying high-priced items and discussing them on the show. This episode was centered on organic weed. The rapper was also joined by comedian Sarah Silverman, and the two talked with cannabis cultivator Kyle Kushman. As they dsicuss the weed with Kushman, which he calls “Veganic,” he shares with 2 Chainz that it costs “pretty damn near a $1,000 an ounce.” 2 Chainz promptly shouted “What?!?” He went on to say, “Hell naw!” Asking, “A $1,000 for a zip? $1,000 for 28 grams?” “That s**t, sometimes when you make it that expensive, it make people want it, you know what I’m saying?” the rapper adds.

Kushman then revealed that he sold so much vegan weed that he didn’t leave his home for five years. He said, “People would come to my house and just bring me money.” The rapper responded to the entrepreneur with, “That’s trappin’! That’s trappin’! That’s trappin’, man!”

2 Chainz’s Son Says It Costs $50K to Book Him

In other news, the rapper’s son Halo also recently shared on the pair’s podcast Me and Halo that it costs a pretty penny for him to make an appearance. In the episode, he asks the 6-year-old how much he charges to be booked. Halo then responds to his father with, “Somebody wanna book me, I’m talking at least like $50,000.” He responds to his son’s answer, asking “50 grand? $50k?” He went on to say, “$50k to book Halo, man.” The child then said, “If not, at least $500.” The rapper laughs as his son later specifies, “If you got a lot of money, ten hundred or $500.” The boy doubled down with, “If you’re really really rich, I’m talking $50k.”

Last week, the rapper also shared another cute moment with his son on his Instagram. In the post, screenshots of text messages between the father and son show the boy responding to a photo of his dad, telling him he needs to “do some push-ups.” Halo is one of 2 Chainz’s three children he has with businesswoman Kesha Ward.

We Smoked Vic Mensa’s New Cannabis Line And It’s A Major Win For Chi-Town Weed

The west coast is spoiled when it comes to weed. Not only do we have some of the best brands on the market — California is still the capital of weed in the United States, that’s not up for debate — but even our celebrity brands are high quality. Seth Rogen’s Houseplant, Bella Thorne’s Forbidden Flowers, and Shavo Odadjian’s 22Red (also available in NV/AZ) are all legit top-shelf lines that can compete with the very best strains on the market. And while I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon, as more states and cities legalize recreational weed usage, brands nationwide are going to keep coming for California’s crown.

This brings us to the latest celebrity weed brand — Vic Mensa’s 93 Boyz. Right off the bat, here’s what I like about 93 Boyz: instead of relying on the star power of Mensa, the brand focuses on the fact that it’s the first black-owned cannabis brand in Chicago. The weed is Chicago-owned, Chicago grown, hand-trimmed, and makes reinvesting in the community core to the overall 93 Boyz mission.

The community-first branding isn’t lip service, either. 93 Boyz is made in partnership between Illinois growers Aerīz and Mensa’s nonprofit SAVEMONEYSAVELIFE, an Indigenous and Black-led organization that advocates for sustainable community change. 93 Boyz has committed to using portions of its profits to sponsor initiatives aimed at prison reform and equity in the cannabis space.

The products available from the brand include flowers, pre-rolls, and vape cartridges. To get a sense of what 93 Boyz has to offer, we sampled each form factor. Here are our thoughts, starting with my favorite of the trio.

Flower — Jealousy Thin Mints // Jet Fuel

93 Boyz
Dane Rivera

THC: 28.35% // 32.59

Terpenes: b-Caryophyllene, Limonene, Humulene, Linalool // b-Caryophyllene, Mycene, Limonene, Humulene

Strain: Hybrid // Sativa

Tasting Notes and Effects:

Before we get into the flavors and the high, we need to talk about this packaging. I don’t like it. I’ll always take a glass jar over a thick zip lock bag, I find that it tends to keep the bud fresher, and stickier, and helps to retain the natural flavors.

Both my Jealousy Thin Mints and Jet Fuel strains lacked stickiness. Would a glass jar have stopped that from happening? We can’t say for sure, but I’m going to guess “yes,” considering I have weed that is from 2022 in my bedroom and it’s still sticky as f*ck.

Luckily, Jealousy Thin Mints and Jet Fuel still provided a lot of flavor and a strong high — at the end of the day that’s all that matters.

The Jealousy Thin Mints is a hybrid strain made from a crossbreed of, as you might’ve guessed, Jealousy and Thin Mint, two beloved strains, and the result is great. It’s sweet and tantalizing on the nose, smoking through my vaporizer I tasted hints of chocolate, lavender, mint, and pine.

After just a few hits, I felt a strong full body buzz as my eyelids got heavy, and feelings of euphoria rushed in. This is a great, feel-good strain, and while it’s incredibly relaxing, I never felt too tired to get up, manage tasks, and generally just change my environment to experience the high in new ways.

This is a stay-at-home high though — I couldn’t imagine myself out in the open while on this stuff, it’s too relaxing.

93 Boyz
Dane Rivera

This brings me to the Jet Fuel, which offers the opposite experience. The strain is bred from Aspen OG and High Country Diesel and has that pungent skunky smell typical of Diesel strains. That experience transfers over to the taste as well, it’s earthy, citrusy, and a bit peppery but with a sweetness that balances out the harsher aspects.

The high had me hyperactive and euphoric, I wasn’t content with sitting around and taking in the experience so I threw some headphones on and went for a mid-afternoon walk. This was the best experience, I found myself fixated on the colors around me, particularly transfixed by blue sky and white clouds.

I probably looked insane walking around looking at the sky, but I was too in my own world to care. Unfortunately, this was followed by a very sluggish crash that had me pretty tuned out for the rest of the day. That could be easily remedied by smoking more though. Or maybe a solid nap.

The Bottom Line:

Both strains offer a pretty great experience. For flavor and relaxation, go with the Jealousy Thin Mints, if you’re looking to be high on the go, Jet Fuel is your herb. Just be careful with the latter’s crash.

Pre-Roll — Lotto

93 Boyz
Dane Rivera

THC: 18.95%

Terpenes: Myrcene, Limonene, b-Caryophyllene, Humulene

Strain: Hybrid

Tasting Notes and Effects:

Starting off with the packaging, I wish the pre-rolls gave me more. All that was available on the label was the strain’s THC content, nothing about what type of strain I was smoking or the terpenes. Obviously, I was able to find this information, but it would be great if it was on the packaging.

93 Boyz pre-rolls come in .5 and 1.0-gram sizes, both form factors are pretty small. As a relatively heavy smoker, the pre-roll was good for a nice strong head change but it isn’t the type of thing I’d want to share with another smoker.

Lotto is a crossbreed of GG4 and Do-Si-Dos and sports a super skunky diesel smell. Luckily the taste is more citrusy than it is earthy and harsh, with a strong zesty finish that gave me a sneezing sensation. The high was a feel-good stress buster, strong enough to feel the buzz but light enough to keep me on my feet.

I can see myself smoking this tiny joint during a break between tasks.

The Bottom Line:

A nice strong steady high that results in a refreshing head change. A great option for those who want to get high but don’t want to be pushed into the psychedelic stratosphere.

Vape Cart — Super Donutz

93 Boyz
Dane Rivera

THC: 81.18 (Total per cart)

Terpenes: b-Caryophyllene, Humulene, Limonene, Myrcene

Strain: Hybrid

Tasting Notes and Effects:

The 93 Boyz vape carts are pretty standard stuff, a mix of plastic and metal housing a thick distillate that fits into standard battery vape pens.

Super Donutz is a cross between Banana Creme Cake and Jealousy and that lineage results in sweetened top notes with a bright citrusy character, and a little bit of funk on the backend.

The high knocked me the f*ck out. After a single hit, a rush of euphoric feelings hit my senses, which had me supremely couch-locked. It’s the sort of high that makes you feel good to lie down and do nothing. So if that’s not your speed, be wary — there is no conquering that feeling for a few hours.

My suggestion would be that if you plan on doing anything while under the influence of Super Donutz, you get it prepared in advance. That includes getting your snacks, picking any movie or tv show you plan to watch ahead of time, or queuing up the right playlist.

The Bottom Line:

A highly euphoric experience that’ll make you content with laying around and doing nothing. Just don’t try to do anything else (unless you have a sturdier constitution than me). This is the sort of high that comes across like a mini vacation. Save it for your most stressful days when you need a respite from all the noise.

Find 93 Boyz products here.

The Big Takeaway:

93 Boyz isn’t just a celebrity-endorsed brand that tries to sell weed on a big name. It’s a passion project from Vic Mensa that reflects how much he cares for both the city he calls home and good quality herb.

93 Boyz is a brand exclusive to Illinois, shop the herb at a dispensary near you here.
