Yelawolf Says He Gave Away Everything He Owned After Mac Miller Died

Yelawolf says he gave away over $100,000 in clothing after Mac Miller‘s death. He reflected on his grieving process during an appearance on the Bootleg Kev Podcast, last weekend. In doing so, he recalled how the two met at an event for XXL.

“I love Mac, man. Mac is the best, dude. I love Mac so much,” he said. “When Mac passed, dude, I was so hurt from that that I gave away everything I own. That’s a true story. I gave away every article of clothing that I own when Mac passed, the next day. Just ’cause I felt like I needed to do something nice. No one really knew how cool he and I really were ’cause we didn’t do music. When we first kicked it, it was the cypher. It wasn’t even a cypher, it was like a freestyle for the XXL cover. So everybody did a verse. And Mac, dude, he might have been, God, 19? I mean, he was young, young.”

He continued: “And I pull a cigarette out and we were chilling. He’s lit. He’s like, ‘Oh, that’s what we’re doing?’ He pulled a cigarette out, he fucking lit a cigarette up. And it was a very affectionate, almost an instant big brother role. Like, ‘Alright, dude. Let’s go. I see you.’” Later in the interview, he spoke more broadly about their relationship. “He went on to make incredible music, obviously,” he said. “We’ve done tours together, dude. I’ve done shows with Mac in the Swiss Alps, bro. That was my homie, man. When he passed, I had just text him weeks before. Just tapping in, you know what I mean?”

Dr. Dre Turned Down Opportunity To Make “The Chronic” Weed Strain, Berner Recalls

During his recent appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Berner revealed that Dr. Dre once turned down his idea to team up to produce a strain of weed called “The Chronic.” According to Berner, the performer was concerned about getting himself into the industry before weed was federally legal, which is why he declined the offer. Despite him passing on the opportunity, Berner reflected on the memory of meeting with Dr. Dre “three or four years ago” fondly.

“Dre sat down with me and I showed him a jar of what we wanted to call ‘The Chronic,’” Berner explained. “It was by far the best-looking weed we’ve ever produced — it was incredible, beautiful, it was orange, purple, funky, stanky … it looked like it was out of a f*cking movie, how good this weed looked.”

“I showed him ‘The Chronic’ and he was just like, ‘yeah, I f*ck with it I appreciate Slim [the Mobster] putting this play together and, y’know, we’ll think about it, but like I don’t know if I really want to put myself in the industry.’” According to Berner, Dr. Dre told him that since he had already managed to make it big, he didn’t want to put everything on the line with a venture into the weed space. “He told me, ‘I got money money and I don’t really want to play with that until, y’know, maybe it’s federally legal,” he explained. “‘I just don’t want to risk it.’”

Though the strain surely would have been a hit among fans, nobody can blame the 58-year-old for opting to play it safe. What do you think of Dr. Dre turning down Berner’s offer to produce “The Chronic” weed? Would you have given the strain a try if Dr. Dre had agreed to Berner’s idea? EST Gee Claims Officer Involved In Breonna Taylor’s Death Held Him At Gunpoint

During his recent interview on the Bootleg Kev Podcast, EST Gee opened up about some of his previous experiences with law enforcement. The artist claims to have had a pretty poor relationship with the police from a young age, and it seems to be for good reason. Apparently, one police officer held EST Gee and his friend at gunpoint while they were kids. He also claims that the officer then went on to become involved with a high-profile case of police brutality.

“Louisville police is different,” he explained to the host. “You know how n***as teach them to not like the police? I don’t wanna say his name. He was involved in the Breonna Taylor sh*t, one of the police officers. When I was little, he walked a group of us home at gunpoint, on my granny. She lived in Turtle Creek.” EST Gee went on, “One of the dudes from the Breonna Taylor muthaf*cka. So I had my own experience early. The police they ain’t never helped me.”

EST Gee On Louisville Police

Breonna Taylor was only 26-years-old when she was shot and killed by police in her own apartment in 2020. Authorities claim to have mistaken Breonna’s residence for another that they were trying to search, instead breaking down the medical worker’s door. Her boyfriend was at the residence, and believed the officers were intruders. He responded by firing one shot at police. The officers ended up firing 22 shots, with several of them hitting Taylor.

Though it’s unclear which of the seven officers involved had the run-in with EST Gee, it’s clear why the experience had a profound impact on his relationship with law enforcement. He went on to explain that in the past, police have also interfered with his shows. “They told the promoter they didn’t want me in there,” he revealed. “The promoter was like, ‘Alright well I’m gonna have just [Lil Baby] then,’ and they was like, ‘Nah, ’cause Baby might try to bring Gee out,’ because he did before on some surprise sh*t.”

EST Gee Walks Out On Bootleg Kev, Tells Him He “Plays Crazy”

EST Gee recently stopped by Bootleg Kev’s podcast, answering questions and promoting his upcoming album. Unfortunately, things went south pretty quick, and EST Gee ended up storming out. He was being asked some questions about his football career, and was clearly over it. “What do that got to do with music and sh*t right now?” he asked just before cutting the interview short.

Kev appears stunned as the rapper makes his way out. “Well, for the very first time in Bootleg Kev Podcast history, we had someone walk off the set,” he says. As expected, a clip of the incident quickly started to make its way around the internet. Though EST Gee seemed pretty calm as he left the set, things escalated quite a bit when he took to social media to comment on the situation. He seemingly threatened the host on his Instagram Story, claiming that he was trying to use the situation to get attention.

EST Gee Cuts Interview Short

“You asking me if I remembered an old man pornstar. If I believe in aliens and the NFL combine????? WTF do that got to do with my album dropping Friday? And I literally just walked out that interview 2 hours ago you already got a clip up??? You tryna go viral LOL 100,” EST Gee wrote. “I got real life sh*t going ask around Ion feel like playing so please don’t play wit me cause I play crazy.”

Bootleg Kev hopped on Twitter later, defending his choice of interview topics. “I’m a fan of his music & was genuinely excited to talk to him,” he explained. “I was told by his team that he wanted to not have an interview NOT filled with typical stuff where we talk about music this music that etc.” Apparently, EST Gee didn’t seem too eager for the interview from the beginning. Despite the awkward walkout, Kev says he’s still a fan of EST Gee and has “no hard feelings” towards him.

Slim Jxmmi Used To Rap Like Eminem

Sometimes, rappers pull inspiration from the most unlikely places, especially long before their careers establish. For example, Slim Jxmmi recently revealed on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, on which he spoke alongside his brother and Rae Sremmurd partner Swae Lee, that he used to try to rap like Eminem. Not only that, but they both expressed being fans of the Detroit legend, despite hailing from Mississippi. During their conversation, they spoke on their recently released album Sremm 4 Life, Internet virality, and many other topics. “That was definitely my favorite rapper [growing up],” Jxmmi remarked. “Man what, I used to do all that ‘Hi, my name is’ [stuff]. I used to like the way he rapped. I [even] used to try and rap like him at one point in time in my life.”

Furthermore, his use of the phrase “used to like” is quite interesting. Is he one of many Stans who think that his music fell off deeper into his career? Regardless, the Marshall Mathers connections to Rae Sremmurd run surprisingly deep. Slim Jxmmi’s rap name is quite similar to that of Em’s alter ego Slim Shady. Also, on Sremm 4 Life, they include an homage to the classic track “Stan” and the Dido song that it samples on the cut “Not So Bad (Leans Gone Cold).” While that track caused a dispute between the rap duo and fellow MC Millyz, it still made for a wild crossover moment.

Slim Jxmmi Wanted To Emulate Slim Shady, Admired Eminem’s Rap Style

However, it’s not the only hip-hop legends that the rap duo is connected to. Moreover, they addressed comparisons to Outkast, specifically a viral 2022 tweet that claimed that Rae Sremmurd was better than the Atlanta icons. “Y’all gotta chill,” they posted on Twitter, and each member actually elaborated on the comparison previously in a 2018 interview with NME. “Shout-out to OutKast man, they’re some originals in the game, so you can never compare us,” Slim Jxmmi stated. “But I think that Rae Sremmurd are doing our own thing, in our own way, in our era of time and music. But OutKast is a great group, and we really like them, you know what I’m saying?”

“I think the game is trying to turn us to some OutKast [comparisons],” Swae Lee added. “And there’s a lot of hate and hating on us going on because we’re doing our own thing and we’re in our own lane. They tried to turn Rae Sremmurd into OutKast and count us out, so we had to come out and remind them that, ‘Look, we’re here to stay.’” Regardless of your take on that, return to HNHH for more on Eminem, and the latest on Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd.

DMX Faced A Scorpion In Wild Story From Cassidy

The loss of DMX shook hip-hop to its core, as one of its most definitive, perseverant, and unique voices. While his storied battles with his inner demons inform much of his discography, his close friends and collaborators also keep his legacy alive in other ways. For example, the Ruff Ryders recently announced a Ryde Out through the five boroughs of New York to commemorate the two-year anniversary of his death. Through those acts and other testimonies, they show us a more complete picture of who Earl Simmons was and still is as an individual.

Philly rapper Cassidy recently recalled visiting the Ruff Ryder and Swizz Beatz while in Arizona, as he worked on his third album B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story back in 2006. While on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, he told a fun story involving the crew. “I went back to Arizona for my third album,” the rhymer began on the show. “That was the last time I was really around X, went to his crib… X was in a positive zone. I was liking how he was carrying it at that time.

Cassidy’s Story Time: DMX Versus A Scorpion

“One of the memorable moments was when he showed me this giant scorpion we was riding past,” he continued. “He was on the four-wheeler, we was in the car and he was leading us back to the road to leave. And then he turned around and said, ‘Yo, y’all wanna see a scorpion?’ He took a rock and threw it down and it made the scorpion tail come off. He picked it up like this, and poison was dripping and he was like, ‘Look, look!”

Furthermore, Cassidy spoke on that being the last time he connected with DMX, labeling him a “wild” but gold-hearted soul. In fact, they were once label mates, and although they didn’t get to link up in the same way again, his fond memories of the Yonkers legend persist. “That’s how I remembered him,” Cassidy remarked at another point in his conversation with the show host. “[DMX] didn’t give a f**k about nothing. He was just wild, but a good dude.” If you have a favorite story from the “Party Up” star, leave in in the comments and join us in celebrating his legacy. Also, stick around on HNHH for more moments, memories, and the latest updates on DMX and his incredible impact, career, and triumphant life.

Blueface Claims Rick Ross & Lil Baby Want To Have Sex With Chrisean Rock

Just when you thought you would have a break from the ongoing Blueface and Chrisean Rock updates, the coupe is back. The pair have been igniting viral moments since Rock first emerged as a star of the rapper’s online reality show. Their relationship quickly moved from business to personal, and people are concerned about their connection these days. We’ve seen videos of Blueface and Rock physically assaulting one another, but it hasn’t caused the popularity to dwindle. In fact, Zeus tapped them for Crazy in Love, an unscripted series filled with fights and drama between the couple and their families.

More recently, Blue and his leading lady were at the center of controversy after the California rapper alleged Lil Baby was trying to get close to Rock. A DM showed Baby allegedly saying he was trying to be like a big brother, but Blueface refuted that. The couple sat down with the Bootleg Kev Podcast to set the record straight. Instead of quelling the drama, Blueface kicked it up a notch and, this time, mentioned Rick Ross.

Blueface Claims Rick Ross Called Chrisean Rock “Sexy”

Kev thought that as an artist, it would be wise for her to network with Rozay and Baby. “Hell no,” Blueface replied. “‘Cause they’re not gonna—it’s not gon’ be real networking.” Rock laughed in the background and said it couldn’t work if “they’re trying to f*ck.” When Kev asked Chrsiean if she believed the two hitmakers were reaching out to get her in bed, she deflected to her boyfriend. “She knows. She likes to play around,” the “Thotiana” rapper said.

As far as those Lil Baby DMs go, Blueface added that despite the “big bro” remarks, Baby was telling Rock something different. Chrisean didn’t want to confirm or deny anything, but Blueface claimed she told him that Baby called her “sexy.” He also allegedly asked Rock to “come to the studio” and said he wanted to have her around. Blue added, “I don’t know if she like cuz or not, but she tryin’ to water it down.”

Chrisean Finds It All Amusing

Some have pointed out that Rock doesn’t seem to be ending the speculation but instead has fueled the flame. The clip of the couple’s Bootleg Kev interview only intensified the backlash against Blue and Rock, especially as they added names of others into their mix. Check it out above.
