In recent years, the announcement of the NFL schedule has become an event unto itself. Teams relish the opportunity to hype and humor fans about their upcoming season. Furthermore, it’s a chance to energize younger viewers and fans by jumping on the latest trends and memes.

After numerous leaks and teases, the NFL schedule for 2023 was released at 8pm on May 11. Soon after, most teams revealed their individual schedules with pre-recorded videos. However, no all of these videos were made equal and we’re here to break down the best, and the worst, of the league’s 32 schedule announcements.

The Best Of The 2023 Schedule Announcements

The Chargers won the schedule announcement for the second year in a row. After debuting their reference-filled anime announcement in 2022, the Chargers ran it back with another anime announcement this year. As with 2022, the highlight of 2023 was the absolute shade thrown at one opponent. Last year it was a joke about not making a joke about the Browns. This year, it was putting up information about gambling addiction when revealing a game against the Lions.

Other notable announcements included DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart “eating the schedule” for the Colts. Meanwhile, the Broncos concluded their trilogy of The Office parodies, featuring Peyton Manning and The Office‘s Angela Kinsey. Elsewhere, the Jets tasked Geogussr god “Rainblot” to uncover their schedule while the 49ers employed the skills of rapper Locksmith.

The Worst Schedule Announcements of 2023

Let’s start with the Eagles and Cardinals. Neither team produced a schedule video this year, with both opting to produce a Twitter thread instead. The Eagles compared their opponents to cute dogs while the Cardinals went with Spotify tracks. Very tame, very boring. The Eagles turned it into a video but still, low-effort work.

The Commanders, Lions, and Buccaneers all did videos around the joke of “what if we AI-generated the schedule release” but unfortunately, it appears that AI doesn’t know what comedy is. Meanwhile, the Raiders did a video that looks exactly like the sort of thing that the head office forces its employees to make in order to look “cool”. As for the rest of the league, there were some videos that were fun enough but didn’t exactly wow you. Honorable mention goes to to Saints and Jaguars for making videos with the exact same premise of “here’s the guy who scripts the NFL”. Regardless, what was your favorite video? Young Nudy Befriends A Bird: Watch

Young Nudy has been making waves in headlines in more ways than one. In recent years, he has become a viral sensation via Tik Tok with his songs “Hell Shell” and most recently his song “Peaches & Eggplants” with frequent collaborator, 21 Savage. The Atlanta Rapper is seen to be fascinated with the most random things. More recently, fans learn he may seemingly be an animal lover.

On May 10th, a video began to surface of Young Nudy and his friends being fascinated by a bird. Additionally, the bird is a white Parrot. In the beginning, he flips the camera around to show the bird. Nudy can be heard saying “Shawty got a bird, aye make it say something!” Notably, the parrot is best known for their ability to talk back to humans. The group proceeds to get the bird to talk to them. The bird can be seen moving around the 22-second clip while trying to eat the bottom of an ice cream cone. Additionally, the video is captioned with a few laughing emojis.

Young Nudy’s Random Fascinations

Moreover, fans noticed Nudy’s pattern of naming his songs after foods. Some of these include his singles “Loaded Baked Potato” and “Barbecue” from his 2017 highly acclaimed Nudy Land album. Nudy seemingly noticed the tweets made by fans as he released his latest album Gumbo. The project Gumbo contains only tracks named after food. Singles include “Passion Fruit,” “Brussel Sprout,” and “Duck Meat.” Additionally, the album also includes start-studded features from 21 Savage and Key Glock. Last month, he also went viral for his performance at UNC-Chapel Hill’s JUBILEE festival. Prior to his performance, Nudy smiled when he noticed a baby in the crowd. Additionally, he waved and said, “Aye look at the baby.” The lighthearted moment has now become a notable Tik Tok sound.

While not the most difficult series to predict statistically, the order in which it happened is certainly unexpected. Few people would have confidently said the Warriors would be 3-1 down after four games. But those few people include Steph Furry. The chosen method of Furry’s predictions is having a ball thrown at him while he stands at the top of the stairs and knocking it down toward two labeled buckets.

So the only remaining question is – how does the series end, according to Steph Furry? Well Lakers fans, we know you already hate this dog so look away now. Furry has the Warriors going all the way with their comeback. If the good boy’s prediction is true, the Warriors are set to take both Games 6 and 7 to win the series 4-3. If they can achieve the feat, they will be just the 14th team to overcome a 3-1 deficit. They will also be the first since the Denver Nuggets did it twice in the 2020 postseason. Lil Meech’s Arrest Video Leaked: Watch

On December 13 2022, Demetrius ‘Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. was arrested a Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport after an unloaded firearm was found in his luggage. Furthermore, Meech could not provide a license for the firearm. However, the BMF star was cleared in January after new evidence showed that the firearm belonged to Meech’s bodyguard. Meech’s lawyer successfully argued that Meech had mistakenly picked up the bag of his bodyguard while they were rushing to the airport.

Despite this, the story is back in the news after the footage showing Meech’s arrest was posted online. The footage was quickly shared across social media. While a fairly standard TSA arrest video, there are a few elements that really make it stand out. It’s these elements that have led people to absolutely roast the footage and Meech’s behavior.

The arrest occurred at the pre-flight baggage check. TSA agents spotted the firearm, a Glock 19, in a bag reportedly belonging to Meech. But things get immediately weird as the 22-year-old Meech claims that he’s a minor. “Yes, I’m a minor. Sir, I’m a minor. Sir, I have security guards,” Meech is told telling a TSA officer. He then does the one thing you really shouldn’t do at an airport and claims he didn’t pack his own bag. “They left that [the gun] in my bag. I did not pack my own bag,” he tells TSA officers. Just as a quick PSA – don’t tell a TSA officer that you didn’t pack your own bag. They really don’t like it when you say that.

It’s an utterly bizarre thing to say. It is especially so when being questioned in regard to an undeclared firearm in your checked luggage. Furthermore, Meech can be heard asking if he can remove his ID from his luggage. Why tell the police you’re a minor if you’re about to show them ID that absolutely says you are not a minor? Ukrainian And Russian Delegates Fight After Flag-Stealing Incident

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is firmly in its second year. At the time of writing, Ukrainian forces are successfully holding a frontline in the far-eastern regions of the nation. After initial gains early in the war, Russian forces are currently limited to the regions of Crimea, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia. However, fighting remains fierce, with Russian state media recently claiming Ukraine had launched a drone strike on the Kremlin. Ukraine denied the allegations, stating they only fought in their sovereign territory.

A key aspect of the way has been supplies. While foreign nations have been able to provide Ukraine with aid, it is still a dire situation for the nation’s 43.79 million inhabitants. Tangentially, there has also been the issue of what Ukraine supplies the world. Ukraine is a major grain exporter. The European Commission estimates that Ukraine accounts for 10% of the global wheat market, 15% of the global corn market, and 13% of the global barley market. They could be a global crisis in regard to grain supplies if exports from Ukraine were to falter.

Ukrainian And Russian Officials Clash At Grain Talks

To prevent said global grain crisis, talks have been underway to ensure the safe passage of Ukrainian agriculture exports. The proposed solution would allow Ukrainian exports to cross the Black Sea. The Black Sea nations are currently meeting in Turkey to find a solution before the current grain agreement expires on May 18. While the main talks are occurring in Istanbul, the related Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization Parliamentary Assembly is happening in Ankara. During the summit, Ukrainian delegates had loudly protested as Olga Timofeeva, Deputy Head of the Russian Delegation and Deputy Head of the State Duma, spoke.

It was here that a physical altercation occurred between a Ukrainian and Russian official. Oleksandr Marikovskyi, a Ukrainian parliamentary member and economist, was posing for a photo while holding the Ukrainian flag. Valery Stavitskiy, the secretary of the Russian delegation, approached Marikovskyi and grabbed the flag out of his hands. Marikovskyi proceeded to chase Stavitskiy across the room, striking him several in the head and body before recovering the flag. Video of the altercation went public after being posted to Marikovskyi’s Facebook page. Additionally, the caption “Paws off our flag, paws off Ukraine…” was included along with the video. Beyond the viral fight, talks are expected to conclude positively next week.

In the vid, you can see a perplexed LUCKI trying to make sense of what was happening as he was met with a wall of iPhones and screams. Although, many fans in the comments expressed mix feelings about the ordeal.

However, there were a lot of commenters who made claims that fans have turned into unpaid paparazzi now. Fake Video Of Coi Leray And Latto Fighting Goes Viral

On April 30, Twitter account @PoeBase shared a video two women fighting entertainment and gossip Twitter account Pop Base shared a video of two women fighting. The video, which contained a large TMZ watermark, was shared with the tweet “TMZ share muted video of Latto and Coi Leray fighting at Something In The Water Festival.” The account has been designed to parody the popular gossip account Pop Base.

The footage was not from TMZ or Something In The Water. Instead, the user behind @PoeBase had taken footage from wrestling promotion TNA Impact Wrestling, muted it, and added the TMZ watermark. The clip has quickly gone viral since being posted at 3:30am EDT. At the time of writing, it has garnered over 1 million views, nearly 6,000 likes, nearly 600 retweets, and over 700 quote tweets.

Fake Latto-Leray Fight Fools Fans, Irks Others

Part of the reason the footage has gone viral is that a number of people genuinely believe, or believed, that is real. The account is designed to mimic Pop Base as closely as Twitter allows. This air of credibility has helped fuel the tweet’s spread. The responses fall into three main categories – people who believe it’s real, people who get the joke, and people legitimately annoyed at what they think is the real Pop Base account. Furthermore, it’s just believable enough to be true, given the recent beef between Leray and Latto.

“Blocked because why are you spreading misinformation? It’s giving desperate” reads one reply. “This misinformation is strong with this one. Might have to block” reads another, who follows up with a link to their Spotify song “Go To Bed”. However, as mentioned, there are plenty of people who believe this is genuine footage. “I knew something was going to pop up off…..” reads one quote tweet. “Why is my coi fighting” reads another before tagging the actual Coi Leray. With Twitter moderation a mess, it’s easier than ever to pass off fake bullshit as the real deal on the internet. The tweet quickly received a pending Community Note to help fight the misinformation.

NFL Reporter Accidentally Says Jalen Carter Has A Big Dick

The NFL draft is always a weird time of year. Without fail, there is always something that goes viral. The 2023 NFL Draft was no different, tough tamer when compared to previous years. There was the video of a player’s dad slapping his son’s girlfriend on the ass. Meanwhile, Twitter had a lot of fun watching Will Levis not get drafted in the first round. Away from the draft, but still in Kansas City, Travis Kelce was luging beers off one of his Super Bowl trophies.

However, it’s not just the draftees who go viral. Sometimes it’s journalists who are the ones grabbing the internet’s attention. That’s exactly what happened this year. In particular, one overlooked moment from this year’s draft came before the picks even started to be announced, courtesy of the NFL Network’s Briget Condon.

Condon Accidentally Says Carter Has A Big Dick

The moment happened during The NFL Network’s pre-draft coverage on Thursday morning. Condon, who is a veteran reporter and has worked for The NFL Network since 2021, was covering the Seattle Seahawks per her assigned beat. At the moment of the unfortunate slip of the tongue, Condon was discussing Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter as a potential option for the Seahawks at #5. However, she, unfortunately, concluded her spiel by saying “big dick, big guy” about the 6″3, 314lbs player. Carter’s draft stock appeared to tank somewhat after he was linked to the death of a teammate in January.

Thankfully for Condon, the Seahawks did not choose to draft Carter at #5. Instead, the Seahawks drafted Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon. However, Carter was still a top-ten pick, going four picks later at #9 to the Philadelphia Eagles. Carter was one of three Georgia defensive players the Eagles took in the draft, adding to the two Bulldogs defenders they took in the 2022 draft. Of course, Condon’s error is one that hundreds of journalists have made over the years. There’s nothing especially scandalous about the comment, it’s just funny that it happened live on TV. The pro football dreams of Iowa defensive end Lukas Van Ness came true on Thursday night. The 22-year-old was taken 13th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He is the highest-drafted Hawkeye since Tristan Wirfs went 13th overall in the 2023 Draft. He was seen as one of the top defensive ends in the draft.

Van Ness is a pure physical pass rusher. While his game is going to need some work to give him more versatility at the NFL level, he is going to be an absolute beast of a player in Green Bay. However, his dad has managed to overshadow van Ness’ moment in the spotlight thanks to a viral moment right after his son was drafted.

Dad van Ness Seen Grabbing Son’s GF’s Ass

Van Ness was not present in Kansas City for the draft, instead watching with family in Illinois. The large group of hardy corn-fed Illinoians went wild as van Ness receives the fateful phone call. His girlfriend, Frankie Kmet (white romper, brown hair) kisses her boyfriend on the cheek before getting up to hug Lukas’ dad, Jason. Kmet is the sister of NFL tight end Cole Kmet, who currently plays for the Chicago Bears. Their other brother, Casey, plays baseball at Notre Dame. Frankie is well known for her gorgeous appearance and Instagram presence. She and van Ness have reportedly been an item since last year.

Jason hugs his son’s girlfriend and then sends her back to the couch where Lukas is sat with a little double-tap on the ass. A completely forgettable and innocuous moment…if it hadn’t happened on live television. Social media went absolutely crazy over the moment as the draft continued. This had been preceded by confusion about all the women surrounding van Ness because apparently, people on Twitter don’t know what a family is. None of the parties involved have spoken out about the incident, because why would they? However, it is an evergreen reminder that the NFL Draft is the best place to be for weird moments.
