Kanye West Confesses He Almost Went Bankrupt Last Year

Like many celebrities, Kanye West spent the weekend in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. While there he was spotted in an Alexander McQueen mask depicting Jesus on the cross and may have even been kicked out of the big game itself. But more importantly, he dropped Vultures 1, his new collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign. After months of teasing, delayed release dates and multiple listening parties the album finally made it’s way to an official release.

Earlier this week, Kanye West returned to LA where he caught up with TMZ. In the most particularly attention-grabbing moment of the interview, West explained how he “can’t be canceled” and that he can’t be antisemitic. But that wasn’t the only surprising revelation he made during the brief conversation. “I’ma just be honest with y’all: I was two months from going bankrupt and I put everything I had into it and we moved to Italy. We moved to the factories and we survived. We survived through the cancellation, we back No. 1.” All weekend West has been claiming that his album is “number one” in dozens of countries despite no official confirmation of that. Vultures 1 has been getting mixed reactions from fans and critics. Some are impressed by the album’s more experimental ambitions absolutely stacked list of features. Others criticized the record for seemingly being unfinished and for some of the more controversial lyrics West delivers.

While at the Super Bowl itself, West also paid for a TV spot for fans watching at home. In the 30 second clip, West records himself on his phone doing a very DIY advertisement for his YEEZY shoes. Despite the contrast between it and most of the high-gloss professional Super Bowl ads, West claims to have made quite a bit of money off the spot. Kanye West’s Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Dropped

Kanye West has seemingly been in legal trouble constantly for years. Some of them have been the kind of purely absurd lawsuits that grab headlines like the Donda Academy lawsuits. They claim that all the windows in the school were removed because West didn’t like glass. But much of the legal proceedings have been much more mundane and that was the case with a copyright infringement case spawning from a 2021 video West shared to social media.

Videographer Elijah Graham sued West last year for allegedly stealing a video he recorded and posting it to social media. The video was a clip of West himself discussing his wife and kids while serving meals to homeless people. The video went viral for his seemingly earnest self-reflection. “We’ve made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve publicly done things that were not acceptable as a husband… but I’m here to change the narrative,” West says in the clip. According to Billboard, the lawsuit wasn’t being “prosecuted diligently” and Graham ultimately agreed to drop it entirely.

It’s pretty good news for West to get this legal drama off of his plate. That’s because there could be even more legal drama coming down the pipe soon. West recently released his new album Vultures with Ty Dolla Sign. After a listening party in advance of the album’s release he was called out for two uncleared samples on the album. Both the estate of Donna Summer and Black Sabbath front man Ozzy Osbourne called out West for using samples despite being denied clearance and either could pursue legal action.

Vultures is still being processed by West’s fans and critics alike. The album has received some backlash for its controversial lyrics and seemingly unfinished sound. But some fans are still riding with the project, which sports a myriad of features from some of the biggest names in rap. Killer Mike Clashes With “The View” Host Over Brian Kemp Support

Killer Mike has a surprising and particularly notable start to his February. He took home a sweep of the rap Grammys this year winning Best Rap Album for his project Michael. He also took home Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for his track “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” with Future, Andre 3000, and Erin Allen Kane. But as soon as fans online were processing those wins, videos of Mike being escorted out of the ceremony in handcuffs began making the rounds online. It took days for the details of the situation to eventually fully unravel.

When Mike did eventually sit down to discuss the night’s events he did so in a surprising place. He sat down with the panel on The View to discuss his night at the Grammys and his own political activism. When addressing his Grammys arrest he chose to valorize the night. He called out many of his political heroes who have also been arrested in the past. But during the next segment, he dug into politics where he found himself going back and forth with one of the show’s hosts Sunny Hostin. Kanye West Shows Off His Alexander McQueen Crucifixion Mask

After some time away and a series of mysterious stories appearing out of Europe, West returned to the US late last year. Since then he’s been spotted a lot more often but almost every time he has something covering much of his face. Sometimes that’s been the kind of ski masks that he’s worn on and off for years. Other times he’s stepped out in something closer to a hockey mask. He was in attendance at the Super Bowl this weekend like many other celebs and he matched the special occasion with a special mask.

As soon as West was spotted fans honed in on what he was wearing over his face. He was sporting a black eye mask over top of a black ski mask covering his entire head. Displayed on the eye mask itself is a cut out of Jesus being crucified. The imagery is striking and West took to Instagram to show fans a close-up look at the piece. “Alexander McQueen Jesus Mask” he captioned the Instagram post revealing that the piece was from the legendary fashion brand. Playboi Carti Clowned By Fans For Bizarre New Video

Playboi Carti doesn’t communicate with fans directly that often, so they pay close attention when he does. That meant there was extra scrutiny on a recent strange video he shared to his Instagram story. In the clip he shows off his assets in a way that is much more familiar for female rappers and musicians online than the men. The move garnered plenty of completely befuddled reactions from fans who weren’t really sure why he chose to record the video in the first place and even more confused by why he posted it publicly.

In the comments of a repost of the clip fans react largely by cracking jokes. “I know iggy pissed thats her bd” one of the top comments on the post reads. Carti has a child with rapper Iggy Azalea but the two haven’t exactly been on good terms since then. “It’s like he tries so hard to be different” another comment suggests. Even among all the jokes there’s some fans with genuine concerns. “All jokes aside, Did something happen to him??” another one of the top comments reads. Offset Loses His $1 Million Super Bowl Bet On The 49ers

Over the weekend one of the most exciting Super Bowl’s in recent years took place. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs outlasted the San Francisco 49ers in an overtime thriller. The big game took place in Las Vegas this year and saw the NFL leaning further into the world of sports betting than ever before. That included some major wages from a few notable high rollers. One of the biggest bags dropped on the big game came from Offset.

Video of the rapper showing up to the Super Bowl made the rounds online in the middle of the game. In the clip, he’s rolling up to the stadium in style where he reveals that he’s dropped a million dollars on a bet. Shortly after he shares that he placed his bet on the 49ers. When the video first made its way to the internet San Francisco was winning which led some fans to congratulate him on a good start. Last month, Offset shared some pretty special news. In the wake of his new album SET IT OFF that dropped last year, he’s taking off on his first ever solo tour. The 17-date series of shows will begin in March and stop at many of the biggest cities in America.

Whatever’s going on between Latto and Ice Spice definitely isn’t as tense as the drama between Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj. However, hip-hop heads have been curious to see how the two younger women will handle the beef that’s been brewing between them for months now. While they’ve never come to blows in person, there’s been plenty of subliminal shade thrown online, and more recently in the studio too. After the redhead confirmed that her first single of 2024 is a diss aimed at Latto, the 25-year-old seems to have aimed at Spice on her “Sunday Service” song, which hit DSPs today (February 9).

Not long after the single’s debut, the former reality star shared its accompanying visual, much of which was filmed in her opp’s neighbourhood – The Bronx in New York. “Every time y’all book me with them h**s, it’s gon’ be big drama / Twenty black Suburbans, we pull up like Sunday Service,” Latto enunciates on her hook. In the following verse is when her apparent shot at Spice comes out. “These b**ches corny, soon as monkey see, then you know monkey do / Do you rap or do you tweet ’cause I can’t tell, get in the booth, b**ch,” she begins.

“Think I’m the s**t? / Bitch, I know it, ho / Jesus walked on water, I got ice boiling though,” Latto’s clever bars continue. She tapped Go Grizzly, Pooh Beatz, and Bankroll Got It to produce for her, creating a distinctly Southern sound reminiscent of the blonde beauty’s roots.

As you may recall, his last stint on the road saw the Toronto native handing out all kinds of prizes to concert patrons. LadBible reports that Champagne Papi was on stage this past Wednesday (February 7) when he briefly paused his concert to shout out a 33-year-old woman named Lauren Schwallier. That same day, she spent five hours at Vanderbilt University Medical Centre, undergoing bone at CT scans. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2022 and recently completed chemo before getting to see Drake live. After performing “God’s Plan” he took notice of her sign in the crowd with the exciting news. “I hope my manager doesn’t kill me ’cause I’ve never really done this much, but, listen, I want you to cash this in at the end of the night,” he declared. “We’re gonna give you $100,000.”

Supporters who have been running up streams on “HISS” since it first dropped weren’t surprised to see the diss track debut at the top of the prestigious list. Still, there are skeptics – particularly among The Joe Budden Podcast co-hosts – who have questions about the authenticity of Thee Stallion’s rollout. “I’m not here to sugar coat it, we could see through certain s**t,” one person on a recent episode of the popular internet show argued. “It’s the same fight that Nicki been talking about, the machines, and the manufactured diss.”
