Back in July, Travis Scott unveiled his eagerly-anticipated fourth studio album, Utopia. The project arrived jam-packed with high-profile features from the likes of The Weeknd, Drake, Playboi Carti, and even Dave Chappelle. He also teamed up with Westside Gunn for the track “Lost Forever,” which quickly became a fan favorite. Not every listener was thrilled with the collab, however, as evidenced by a recent social media post.
One critic took to Twitter to express their disappointment with the song, accusing Westside Gunn of ruining its potential. “@WESTSIDEGUNN ruined one of the best tracks on UTOPIA with his annoying high pitched voice.. LOST FOREVER had the potential to be the best track on there,” they wrote.
Westside Gunn wasn’t about to let the hateful comment slide, firing back by reminding the user that the album earned a Grammy nomination, his verse and all. “’Whipped the cocaine to the pot bust you was on the porch I was locked up,’” he wrote, quoting the track. “These type of comments is bullying it makes me sad I’m crying my fly pretty a** all the way to the Grammys.” They exchanged a few more jabs, with the user telling him to “enjoy [his] 5 min of fame.” Westside Gunn then brought up his 5 Grammy nominations again, prompting the user to say he only has two.
“Hahahahahahahaha u still ready,” the artist responded, listing off the albums he’s worked on that have been nominated. “I never wanted to be the best rapper buddy,” he also added. “I’m the illest curator & owner of Griselda records I make ART idc even about the accolades I’m a live forever.” What do you think of a social media user accusing Westside Gunn of ruining his track with Travis Scott? Travis Scott is making a call to action after he found out that his good friend Virgil Abloh’s skate park in Ghana is currently in shambles. This was one of his last initiatives before he passed away, and apparently someone filled it with cement, sand, and brick walls while claiming to own the land. It seems like a very complicated and unclear situation, with some blaming the government, others advocating for its closure, and many confused about the whole thing. Regardless, the Houston MC wants something done to restore this park to its former glory, as it will keep the design legend’s legacy alive and well while opening a space for fun and community like he envisioned.
“MANNN WHATT,” Travis Scott wrote as an Instagram comment recently, presumably for a post covering this ordeal. “WHAT WE DOINNNNNGGGGGGGG. LET ME KNOW WHAT WE GOTTA DO TO GET MY BROTHER PARK BACK GOING PLEASSSSSEEEEEEE.” For those unaware, they had a close relationship, one that carries over even after the latter’s tragic loss. For example, La Flame was announced as a headliner for a festival honoring the Off-White and Louis Vuitton icon’s memory.
However, he also has other other metrics by which he wants to do right by Virgil. One of these is his own musical work, the most recent of which was his 2023 smash hit album UTOPIA. Moreover, it’s nominated for Rap Album Of The Year at the 2024 Grammys, and Travis Scott let out a tweet on Thursday (January 4) manifesting a win against Metro Boomin’s HEROES & VILLAINS, Nas’ Kings Disease III, and more. “Gotta bring that rap album [trophy emoji] for the fans demmmmm Let’s lock in UTOPIA,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the “HYAENA” creative continued to make more strides in the fashion world, which echo Virgil’s artistry. The most recent sneaker of his we covered was the Jordan Jumpman Jack “Sail”. Travis Scott hasn’t released very many videos for his new album Utopia, but the ones he has have been events. The videos for “K-Pop,” “God’s Country,” and “Hyaena” are all relatively tame, though, in comparison to his Travis’ borderline-NSFW new clip for “Topia Twins.”
The video lives up to its title, featuring multiple sets of scantily-clad siblings riding jet skis, twerking on a yacht, and flashing in a local convenience store (with artful but ultimately pointless mosaic censoring). Rob49 and 21 Savage both appear for their respective verses, with Savage delivering his bars in a separate set of scenes overseeing a boxing match between one pair of twins and menacing the camera in night vision.
“Topia Twins” is one of the standouts on Utopia thanks to the two guest rappers. While 21 Savage is already a force in his own right, the emerging Rob49 used the placement to make a name for himself. In an August interview with Uproxx last year, he explained how his appearance on the track happened, and how the song evolved from its original version to the raucous format it has now. “It was just a mellow song, how his mellow songs be,” he recalled. “I said, ‘Give me this right here and put this up here. Cut the beat right here. This the song we’re going to start it from right here.’ And that’s what we did.”

Travis Scott is one of the biggest artists in the entire world at this point. Overall, he is someone who is always pushing his sound forward, and that was more than evident with UTOPIA. Although it is an album that has proven to be a bit polarizing, there are a lot of fans who love it. In fact, some would argue that this was the best album of 2023. Critics would have something to say about that, however, Travis does not care. He is doing his thing and the fans continue to support it.
There have only been a couple of music videos for this album so far. He has the Circus Maximus movie, however, it only encompasses a couple of the songs. Now, however, he has come through with the music video for the track TOPIA TWINS. This is one of the best collaborations on the project and it features Rob49 as well as 21 Savage. It is a high-octane song with some pretty raunchy lyrics. It is a truly fantastic track, and this music video is one that will have you changing tabs if your mom walks in the room.
As you can see above, this is a video that is filled with debauchery and scantily clad women. The Clermont Twins make an appearance in this video which seemed like a true given at this point. As for Travis and Rob49, they can be seen cruising on jetskis all while being surrounded by various twins. It is a video that plays on male fantasies and for some, it will really hit the notes of what one would consider to be a utopia.

Unsurprisingly, Travis turned around pretty quickly to take the album on an absolutely massive tour. The CIRCUS MAXIMUS tour took off earlier this year and has stunned audiences in numerous stadiums across North America.
In particular, Travis Scott delivered a major performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center earlier this week. In the immediate aftermath of the show one particular story caught on. That surrounded one particular moment when a moving piece of stage decor bumped into Travis, knocking him down to a lower point on the stage. The moment was nearly a disaster though he thankfully avoided any kind of injury and was able to continue performing. But when he sat down with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show he discussed an entirely different element of the Brooklyn show.
During his concert in Brooklyn, Travis Scott performed his Playboi Carti-featuring hit “FE!N” 10 times. When he sat down with Fallon a few days later he explained why he chose to do it. “Man, I have the best fans in the world and I go off the energy they give me, and they were wild that night, and so I just got even wilder,” Scott explains. He promised a similarly exciting show up next when he will hit up another legendary NY venue. “Tonight I plan on going even crazier at Madison Square Garden.”
Scott also narrowly avoided injury while sitting courtside at a recent Knicks game. He had a loose ball fly in his direction that thankfully avoided hitting him, but instead spilled a significant portion of his drink. Fittingly given how grand of an undertaking the album was it needed a tour that could match the caliber of excitement. Earlier this year Travis Scott took off on the Circus Maximus tour and it’s been just that. The larger-than-life performances often feature memorable moments and recurring guest stars on a night-by-night basis.
But during a show earlier this week, Travis Scott narrowly avoided disaster. In a video shared by TMZ, the “MELTDOWN” rapper is performing on stage while one of the suspended props slowly creeps up behind him. As fans watch, the prop hits him from behind and he only narrowly avoids a major fall by jumping down to a lower part of the stage. It’s unclear whether Travis was in the wrong place at the time or the prop simply wasn’t meant to be moving like that. Last week, Travis Scott had a different kind of tour issue. He canceled a planned Chicago show at the last minute and left plenty of fans frustrated.
