Ty Dolla Sign And 070 Shake Join Swedish House Mafia’s Moody ‘Lifetime’ Performance On ‘The Tonight Show’

Just hours after debuting their new single “Lifetime,” Swedish House Mafia appeared on The Tonight Show to deliver a moody performance of the new track with Ty Dolla Sign and 070 Shake, as well as their prior single “It Gets Better.”

All of the performers appear in silhouette in a darkened room. During the Swedish House Mafia parts, each of the three members appears in one of three orange-tinged “portholes” playing their respective instruments. During Ty and Shake’s appearances, the two R&B futurists are tripled to appear in all three of the circles of light.

“It Gets Better” and “Lifetime” are the lead and second single from Swedish House Mafia’s upcoming debut album Paradise Again, respectively, while Paradise Again is the Stockholm trio’s first full-length project since the 2012 compilation Until Now.

070 Shake, who the band said they would put “on every single record we did” if they could, made her splashy debut last year with Modus Vivendi after writing for Kanye West on his GOOD Music albums in 2018. Meanwhile, Ty Dolla Sign is also closing in on a year removed from his own 2020 album, Featuring Ty Dolla Sign.

Ty Dolla Sign And 070 Shake Reflect On Once In A ‘Lifetime’ Loves With Swedish House Mafia

EDM supergroup Swedish House Mafia returned earlier this year with a new single, “It Gets Better,” and the announcement that they’d be releasing their debut studio album Paradise Again in late 2021 — their first project since 2012 compilation Until Now. Today, they released the latest single from the upcoming project, “Lifetime,” which features R&B futurists Ty Dolla Sign and 070 Shake reflecting on once-in-a-lifetime lovers over a pulsating production from the Stockholm-based trio.

Debuting the song on Apple Music 1, the trio told Zane Lowe: “This was the time where we sat down and we were just throwing ideas at each other of what kind of music we like, and this is boiling everything down to like, ‘What did we feel?’”

070 Shake, who sings the song’s electrifying chorus, returns after a year of near radio silence in the wake of her debut album Modus Vivendi. SHM member Steve Angello said of working with her, “We’ve never experienced an artist like her. She’s so far away from formula, but she’s right at the center of youth and we just love her, the energy, the vibe she has, the artistic integrity — everything about her is so unique… we would put her on every single record we did. She’s incredible.”

Of Ty Dolla Sign, Sebastian Ingrosso said, “We love Ty Dolla Sign. We loved him from the very, very beginning. We actually talked to him kind of 10 years ago doing something because he did a remix of ‘One’ that came out on YouTube, I think, something like that. So we always had Ty Dolla Sign in mind.”

Ty Dolla Sign Joins Dwn2earth To Issue A Stern Warning To An Indecisive Girl On ‘Don’t Play With Me’

With a resume that features collaborations with a number of artists across many genres, Ty Dolla Sign has solidified himself as one of the guest verse kings in the music industry. It’s a title that eventually pushed him to name his third album Featuring Ty Dolla Sign. With a long list of guest appearances that highlight his ability to find chemistry with whoever he shares a song with, Ty submits another example by standing beside Dwn2earth for a remix of his 2020 track, “Don’t Play With Me.” The original song is housed on Atlantis, a project Dwn2earth released last year, and the new update also comes with a new video featuring the duo.

In the visual, Ty and Dwn2earth bring their talents to a strip club where they spend most of the night throwing money into the sky. While they’re certainly enjoying their time there, the duo also takes a moment to issue a stern warning to the special woman in their respective lives. They ask that she moves cautiously and carefully consider her choices as anything that they deem disrespectful will not be tolerated.

The video arrives after Ty joined DVSN and Mac Miller on “I Believed It.” Ty and DVSN then promised a joint album for fans in the near future after releasing the song. As for Dwn2earth, he’s been fairly quiet since dropping Atlantis last summer.

Ariana Grande And Ty Dolla Sign Hype ‘Safety Net’ With A Live Performance Video

Last fall, Ariana Grande released her third album in as many years with Positions. The project grew to be one of the most popular pop releases from the year and it’s an effort the singer continues to promote as she returns with a new video for “Safety Net,” her collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign. The video released for the track is a live performance in which Ariana performs on a grass-covered stage under a futuristic-looking lighting fixture.

The track joins “34+35,” “POV,” and “Positions” as the only other songs from Positions to receive the visual treatment. “Safety Net” is also a song that was included in Uproxx’s ranking of the best songs in Grande’s career as it came in at No. 45. Aside from her own work, Grande’s most recent work has come in the form of collaborations.

Prior to the new video, she teamed up with Doja Cat for “I Don’t Do Drugs” from the rapper’s third album, Planet Her. She also contributed a verse for a remix of The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears.” It’s a song that topped the Billboard singles chart for two consecutive weeks and one that they performed together at the iHeartRadio Music Awards earlier this year.

DVSN, Ty Dolla Sign, And Mac Miller’s ‘I Believed It’ Reflects On A Past Lover Who Broke Their Promise

Every now and then we receive an unexpected collaboration from two or more artists and this new track seems to be one of those. DVSN, Ty Dolla Sign, and the late Mac Miller bring their talents together for their new song, “I Believe It.” It’s a reflective effort that finds the trio looking back on their past with a former lover who broke all the promises they once hoped to keep. Along with the song, DVSN announced a joint project with Ty Dolla Sign is “on the way” in a post to Twitter.

While the song marks the first time the three artists have collaborated on a song, it’s not the first time the individual acts have worked with one of the names on the song. Last year, DVSN recruited Ty Dolla Sign for “Dangerous City” off their third album, A Muse In Their Feelings while Mac Miller worked with Ty Dolla Sign back in 2016 on “Cinderella” from the late rapper’s album, The Divine Feminine. Prior to the song’s release, DVSN and Ty Dolla Sign both shared videos of them working on “I Believed It” with Mac Miller in the studio, confirming that the song was worked on and finished before Mac’s tragic death.

The song comes after DVSN shared a deluxe reissue of A Muse In Their Feelings and weeks after Ty Dolla Sign joined YG and Mozzy in the video for “Vibe With You.” As for Mac Miller, the late rapper has a book on the way comprised of stories from his friends and collaborators.

YG, Mozzy, And Ty Dolla Sign’s Video For ‘Vibe With You’ Is The Essence Of A West Coast Summer Day

YG and Mozzy dropped their joint album Kommunity Service last month. It was a solid display of West Coast rap and it’s one that the duo continues to promote. Indeed, now they’ve dropped a new video for “Vibe With You,” which elicits Ty Dolla Sign to sing the song’s chorus, all while the trio drinks in the essence of a West Coast summer day. That includes riding with their ladies in a car with the top down and enjoying an outdoor day party with a large cast of women standing around them.

“Vibe With You” is the fifth track from Kommunity Service to receive the video treatment, following ones for “Dangerous” with G Herbo, “Gangsta,” “Perfect Timing” with Blxst, and “Bompton To Oak Park.” As for Kommunity Service as a whole, the 10-track album features help from A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, G Herbo, Tyga, D3, E Mozzy, Celly Ru, and Young M.A., in addition to the aforementioned names.

YG And Mozzy Show Off Their Softer Sides With Help From Ty Dolla Sign On ‘Vibe With You’

Hip-hop has granted fans a decent amount of joint albums over the last few years. Drake and Future, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, 21 Savage and Offset, Future and Lil Uzi Vert, and more are among the list of rappers who took a moment to combine the best of both worlds for a project. The latest example comes from YG and Mozzy who just released their joint album, Kommunity Service. The 10-track effort is flooded with the many colors of West Coast rap with one example coming on “Vibe With You” which features fellow California native, Ty Dolla Sign.

On the collaboration, the two rappers take a moment from the muscle-flexing and big talk that is heavily present on Kommunity Service to let their softer sides fly. Altogether, “Vibe With You” is a chilled track that sees YG and Mozzy detailing how their fame has made it easier to keep the ladies entertained.

In addition to the Ty Dolla Sign guest appearance, Kommunity Service also sees features from G Herbo, E Mozzy, Celly Ru, D3szn, Tyga, Blxst, Young M.A, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. YG and Mozzy first began the campaign for the new album with “Bompton To Oak Park” and “Perfect Timing.”

Comedian Tiffany Haddish stars in the sunny video for Ty Dolla Sign’s “By Yourself” remix, hopping from man to man on a series of dates throughout the Los Angeles area, reflecting the song’s emphasis on a woman embracing her independence. Meanwhile, for each verse, Ty performs alongside one of the song’s guests Bryson Tiller and Jhene Aiko, as well as Haddish herself during Ty’s verse.

The song is the latest remix to emerge from Ty’s 2020 album, Featuring Ty Dolla Sign, including remixes of “The Business” with Tiesto and “Spicy” featuring J Balvin, Tyga, and YG.

Since releasing Featuring Ty Dolla Sign, Ty’s lived up to the album’s cheeky title, popping up on Ariana Grande’s album Positions, 2 Chainz’s “Can’t Go For That” video from So Help Me God, Blxst’s single “Chosen” with Tyga, and SZA’s “Good Days.” Ty also staged a number of impressive live performances, including one for “Nothing Like Your Exes” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and a soulful return to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts with an in-home setup that let his skills shine.
