Denzel Curry Drops Complete “KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH” Album

Denzel Curry has been chipping away at the KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH title for quite a while. He dropped a mixtape with the title in 2012, then an album in 2024. It still wasn’t enough. Curry opted to record a few bonus tracks, rearrange the tracklist, and drop the complete version of the album on Friday. It was well worth the wait. KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH encompasses every facet of the Denzel Curry experience. It showcases the rapper’s aggression, his commercial sensibility, and his consistently stellar lyricism at every turn.

It’s not easy to make a lyrical album that knocks, but Denzel Curry does that exact thing here. The rapper pays homage to the Waka Flocka Flame hit “Hard In da Paint” with “STILL IN THE PAINT.” He adds to the blistering instrumental, and trades bars with the likes of LAZER DIM 700 and Bktherula. It’s an obvious tip of the cap to the music Denzel Curry grew up listening to, and he manages to put a fresh spin on it. The other bonus tracks features less notable samples, but they are of equal quality. “ANOTHA LATE NIGHT” is a nocturnal meditation on sex and love. “P.O.P.,” meanwhile, is a smooth riding anthem with additional bars from Sauce Walka and Key Nyata. It might be the best song on here, even if it’s subtleness will lead to it being buried.

Let us know what you think of this brand new album, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign Sued For “VULTURES” Copyright Infringement

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign cannot seem to escape the mess that is VULTURES 1. The album suffered through numerous delays and controversies. Most stemmed from West’s controversial antics and public statements. Upon its release, however, VULTURES 1 was subject to a lawsuit by the estate of disco icon Donna Summer for an uncleared sample. The lawsuit was settled in June, but now it seems another one has taken its place. Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign are being sued over yet another uncleared sample.

The sample in question is on the song “Fuk Sumn.” The copyright infringement lawsuit has been filed by a trio of artists: Criminal Manne, DJ Squeeky and Kilo G. Per TMZ, the lawsuit claims the song sampled at the beginning of “Fuk Sumn” was taken from from the DJ Squeeky track “Drank a Yak (Part 2).” Criminal Manne is the rapper who spits the lyrics “Smokin’ on a junt, with my n**gas drinkin’ O.E.” Kilo G then gets sampled later on the track. The trio claim that they tried to negotiate with Alien Music when “Fuk Sumn” was first released.

Kanye West Allegedly Failed To Clear “Fuk Sumn” Sample

Unfortunately, Kanye West fired a large portion of his staff in May, and the negotiations never got off the ground. Criminal Manne, DJ Squeeky and Kilo G claim that they have yet to be paid royalties, despite the fact that their work was clearly sampled. They also claim that Kanye West’s reps have not been in touch with them for several months. The trio are seeking damages for the runaround they feel they have been given since February 2024. This is merely the latest lawsuit that has been leveled against West in recent months.

The rapper was accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed by his ex-assistant, Lauren Pisciotta. He’s also facing lawsuits from other former employees, many of which are stemming from his defunct school, Donda Academy. It gets worse. Kanye West is in the midst of finding new legal representation, and Ron Zambrano, an opposing attorney, derided the rapper for having “the attention span of a goldfish.” The rapper will be forced into a default judgement unless he finds new representation soon.

Cordae Reveals Incredible Guest Features For “Crossroads” Album

Cordae is not messing around. The rapper has a solid resume thanks to albums like The Lost Boy and From a Bird’s Eye View, but he seems poised for a breakthrough. He’s been dropping some of his best music to date in 2024 in preparation for his upcoming album, Crossroads. The rapper has been hard at work on the album since 2022, which is set to be a direct sequel to From a Bird’s Eye View. It’s been a long wait, but Cordae has finally dropped the tracklist and guest features for Crossroads. And one look proves this thing will be worth the wait.

Crossroads boasts 16 tracks, which will make it his longest album to date. The rapper has hinted at a nostalgic theme running through the album, based on buzz singles like “Summer Drop” and “Saturday Mornings.” Both of these songs are present on the tracklist, and boast stunner guest appearances from Anderson .Paak and Lil Wayne. The latter has heaped praise upon Cordae in the past, and been cited as one of Cordae’s biggest influences. As a result, Weezy will also be featured on the song “Back on the Road.”

Cordae Will Collab With Idols Like Weezy And Ye

Cordae tapped some of his generational peers for Crossroads. Jordan Ward and Ravyn Lenae both appear on the song “Don’t Walk Away,” which is poised to be an R&B stunner given the talent on hand. Joey Badass will also drop by for inevitable bar-fest that will be “Syrup Sandwiches.” The rest of the album, however, will feature rappers that Cordae grew up listening to. In addition to two Weezy guest spots, Crossroads will boast appearances from Juicy J and Kanye West. Juicy J will drop by for “Neva Seen It,” while West is set to rap on “No Bad News.”

Cordae has never worked with Kanye West before. He has, however, praised West several times in the past. Cordae rapped over West’s 2005 classic “Gone” during a viral concert clip in 2021. He also cited the Chicago rapper as his “biggest musical influence” during a 2022 interview with All the Smoke. He’s worked with Juicy J, however, appearing on the veteran emcee’s 2024 album Ravenite Social Club. We can’t wait to hear what Cordae has in mind for these collabs.

Ab-Soul is known for challenging rap’s conventional narratives with his deep, thought-provoking lyricism and distinctive style. Joining Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in 2007, he became part of the revered Black Hippy collective alongside Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Kendrick Lamar. His music often delves into personal hardship, philosophy, and social issues. His journey has been marked by significant struggles, including being diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome at age 10, which severely impacted his vision and skin. After a six-year hiatus, Ab-Soul returned with Herbert (2022), an album that showcases his vulnerability as he reflects on mental health, grief, resilience, and self-discovery—earning praise from both fans and critics for his growth and authenticity.

Liam Payne’s Death Leads To Tributes From Juicy J, Ty Dolla Sign And More

Liam Payne is gone, and fans around the world are stunned. The former One Direction singer was only 31 years old, and still in the midst of releasing new music. The circumstances surrounding Payne’s untimely death are still being sorted out. TMZ reported that the singer fell from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina. The outlet also alleges that he was acting erratically in the lobby, and had to be carried to his room shortly before his fatal fall. Regardless of the circumstances, the music world has been mourning Liam Payne’s death.

Juicy J, who collaborated with Liam Payne on the 2016 single “You,” tweeted his condolences. “R.I.P. Liam Payne,” he wrote. “Wow I can’t believe it prayers up for the family.” A similarly heartbroken thought was shared by Flavor Flav, who was shocked to learn the singer had died at such a young age. “R.I.P. to Liam Payne,” the Public Enemy rapper tweeted. “Much too young.” Payne was the One Direction singer who leaned into R&B and hip hop the most throughout his solo career. His debut solo single, “Strip That Down,” featured a snappy instrumental and a guest verse from Quavo.

Ty Dolla Sign Spoke To Liam Payne Days Before His Death

Liam Payne also worked with artists like A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, J Balvin and Zedd throughout his solo career. One artist he did not get a chance to collab with, however, was Ty Dolla Sign. Despite this missed opportunity, Ty revealed that he had spoken to Payne a few days before his death. “Just talked to you 2 days ago my guy,” the R&B singer wrote. “Ima miss u frfr.” Ty Dolla Sign also posted a video of Payne on his Instagram Stories. Zedd, who appeared on Liam Payne’s only solo album, LP1, celebrated the singer for his musical legacy. “R.I.P. Liam,” he wrote. “I can’t believe this is real. Absolutely heartbreaking.”

Liam Payne admitted hesitation to break away from the pop-rock of One Direction in his own music. He told Entertainment Weekly that he loved hip hop music, though, and cited Migos and Lil Uzi Vert as some of his favorite artists. “I listen to a lot of rap music,” he asserted. “It’s important to do something that you want to do, but you can’t forget your fan base, you can’t forget your roots.” Payne’s aforementioned song with Quavo was a top 10 Billboard smash in 2017, so fans didn’t seem to mind.

Ty Dolla Sign Seemingly Defends Diddy In Leaked ‘FRIED’ Demo

Ty Dolla Sign established a reputation for fraternizing with complicated figures when he decided to link up with Kanye West. The R&B singer decided to release two collab albums with West during the wildest and most controversial period of the latter’s career. One of the songs these two worked on was “FRIED,” which appeared on VULTURES 2. A demo version of the song leaked on October 11, however, and it saw Ty Dolla Sign decide to take a very bold stance in favor of another complicated figure: Diddy.

Ty Dolla references the disgraced mogul in a verse that was scrapped from the final version. “Don’t say no Diddy ’round me,” the singer croons over the demo. “That’s my dog.” It’s a genuinely surprising take to dish out on a song in 2024, when public opinion of Diddy could not be lower. Furthermore, Diddy is currently behind bars. He’s awaiting trial on federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, and is facing 15 years to life. Ty Dolla Sign defending Diddy is, as they say on the internet, a choice. Especially given Kanye West’s feelings toward the Bad Boy founder.

Ty Dolla Sign Declared That Diddy Was His “Dog”

Kanye West has made it clear that he does not co-sign Diddy. He infamously roasted the Bad Boy founder when he appeared on a 2023 episode of Drink Champs. “As far as Meek Mill, Puff Daddy, whoever, none of these n**gas,” he told the hosts. “All of you fake hard n**gas, f**k you!” To make matters even more bold, West accused Diddy of being protected by the feds. “You can’t shoot nobody anyway,” he asserted. “And the reason why you gotta talk is because you did a deal, you f**king fed!”

Ty Dolla Sign has put forth a pretty unified front with West during these tumultuous VULTURES rollouts. Even when West seemingly flew off the handle and made controversial statements. His decision to cape for Diddy is one that has not been met with much praise from the internet. It remains to be seen whether Ty’s scrapped bars will get him in trouble with fans. Best case scenario, though, it’s still a very bad look.

Travis Scott And Ty Dolla Sign Fuel Kanye West Album Rumors On IG

Kanye West is as enigmatic as they come. He also overshares. The legendary artist doesn’t go for the mysterious route the way that Playboi Carti or Frank Ocean does. Rather, he confounds expectations because he seems to change his mind at the drop of a dime. Entire Wikis have been dedicated to all of the Kanye West albums that have been made and shelved over the years. He has as many unreleased albums as released ones, at this point. Because of this, a Kanye West album is always an event. And it seems like a new one might be coming soon. Travis Scott and Ty Dolla Sign seemingly think so.

Kanye West teased a new single called “Preacher Man” via Instagram on September 23. The very next day, producer Digital Nas shared a text in which West claimed to be in “art studio mode.” Then, the IG post started receiving comments from artists in the rapper’s circle. “There he is,” Ty Dolla Sign wrote underneath the video of West chopping a soul sample. Travis Scott responded, weirdly, with the same comment as Ty. Only he emphasized the word “he” in his. “There HE is,” the Houston rapper asserted. Confused? So are we. Fans have been trying to unpack what these two comments could mean, or why Scott slightly tweaked the emphasis of Ty Dolla Sign’s comment.

Travis Scott And Ty Have Also Teased New Music

This is not the first time Travis Scott and Ty Dolla Sign have teased new music in recent weeks. The former told Cultured Magazine that he was back in “album mode” and working on new songs during his tour. “I can see the music for what it is,” he told the outlet. “I’m f*cking amped.” Scott and Kanye West have not had the smoothest relationship over the last few years, but it seems as though the two have mended fences. Scott even brought West out during the Orlando leg of his UTOPIA tour.

Ty Dolla Sign, on the other hand, is working to complete his trilogy with Kanye West. The two have yet to release VULTURES 3, after the messy rollout for VULTURES 2 stretched on for weeks. Some questioned if it would ever see the light of day, but Ty Dolla Sign confirmed that it’s real and it’s coming soon. “V3 bouta rip heads off,” he wrote on Instagram. Given how close Kanye West is with both artists, it’s safe to assume they have an inside line to what he’s working on. We can only hope that the context of their IG comments come to light soon, and that West decides to bless us with his “art studio mode” as soon as possible.

Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign, and ARE WE DREAMING Unveil Video For “If I Fall”

unnamed 17

QuavoTy Dolla $ign, and ARE WE DREAMING (Composer – Brian Tyler) – roll out the official music video for their resilient anthem, “If I Fall,” for Paramount Animation and Hasbro Entertainment’s upcoming motion picture TRANSFORMERS ONE.

Directed by Brian Tyler (ARE WE DREAMING) and DJ Furth, the epic video for “If I Fall” features a dynamic visual aesthetic with red and blue laser themes that reflect the intense juxtaposition between Optimus Prime and Megatron. QuavoTy Dolla $ign, and ARE WE DREAMING (chorus vocals) build up the tension as they passionately deliver their verses while clips from TRANSFORMERS ONE are shown on the background screens and integrated throughout the video, serving as a backdrop to the impending fallout between the two characters. Complete with drum solos from ARE WE DREAMING, the visual perfectly encapsulates the emotional weight and energy of the track.

About the video, Tyler said, “It was so dope getting to work with legends Quavo and Ty Dolla who both killed it in the video for “If I Fall”, which has a sick sci-fi feel that brings you into the world of Transformers. The sets were epic, it felt like we were on Cybertron.”

Tyler also edited the video alongside Elizabeth Saltzman. “It’s kind of crazy directing your own music video when you are also singing on it, playing the drums, editing the cut, and creating the visual effects. Being so integrated in the entire process has been insane but amazing,” Tyler gushed. “This video is actually the first of its kind for my upcoming audio-visual project Are We Dreaming, which I direct and create all the visuals for, as well as produce the music which spans many genres but is primarily centered around bass music and hip hop. So hype for the world to see what we’ve cooked up!”

Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign & ARE WE DREAMING Collide For Transformers Soundtrack Cut “If I Fall”

If you are looking to create elements of excitement for a film’s soundtrack, look no further than Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign. Both artists have tons of experience penning songs for movies over their illustrious careers. Perhaps each one’s most notable contributions include The Fate of the Furious (Quavo) and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Ty Dolla $ign). They each had massive songs off their respective projects, such as “Go Off” and “Scared of the Dark”. So, it’s no surprise that the creators of Transformers One are recruiting Quavo and Ty for song, which in this case is “If I Fall”.

The animated motion picture will arrive in theaters on next Friday, September 14 and it’s going to be an origin story of the universe involving the Autobots and Decepticons. Assumedly, the soundtrack will have more big names like the cast has. Speaking of which, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, and Steve Buscemi are just a few to rattle off. “If I Fall” also features, ARE WE DREAMING, a production and singing team, who also handles the chorus of the single. It’s your standard ready for battle type of song that you’ll find in a lot of kids’ action movies. It’s nothing too special but check it out and see what you think.

Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign, and ARE WE DREAMING (Composer – Brian Tyler) join forces on their new collaborative anthem, “If I Fall,” for Paramount Animation and Hasbro Entertainment’s upcoming motion picture TRANSFORMERS ONE. The three superstars build off one another’s resilient verses, vowing to “take no prisoners” and refusing to give up when the odds are stacked against them. “It’s in my bloodline; I have too much pride,” declares Quavo on the track.

Set to release September 20th, TRANSFORMERS ONE features a star-studded voice cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, with Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. Debuting as the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.

“I started writing the song “If I Fall” as a personal way to both express my gratitude to those who truly lifted me up when I fell down in life and a rebuke of those who turned away,” says composer Brian Tyler. “This concept is the core story of TRANSFORMERS ONE, so it’s a synergistic song. I was blessed to have both Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign contribute their incredible vocals to the track – it turned out so dope!”
