Nicki Minaj Throws Shots At Spotify Amidst Drake’s UMG Legal Drama

Nicki Minaj was not messing around on Monday. The rapper got on Twitter shortly after it was announced that Spotify would be releasing its Wrapped data later than usual. Fans were perplexed by the delay, and many theorized it may have to do with accusations that Drake recently leveled at the streaming platform. The 6 God alleged that Spotify and UMG were in cahoots to boost Kendrick Lamar’s streaming numbers using bots. Evidently, Nicki Minaj is supporting Drake’s cause. She questioned why Spotify was taking so long with its data. She also alluded to the platform lying.

“Show me the data,” she wrote on Monday afternoon. The rapper followed this ominous request up with a more damning comment. “Spotify ain’t gotta lie,” she explained. These critiques were intriguing, given that Nicki Minaj received two notable honors via Spotify the same exact day. She was the most streamed female rapper in November with 355 million streams. Minaj was also the most streamed female rapper of 2024 with 4.1 billion streams and counting. QC Worldwide claims the rapper is on pace to close out 2024 year with 4.5 billion streams.

Nicki Minaj Bashed Spotify For Prioritizing Drake In 2018

This is not the first time Nicki Minaj has gone after Spotify. The rapper has a history of clashing with streaming platforms, whether it be lack of promotion or perceived preferential treatment of her peers. The latter proved to be the case in 2018, when Minaj blasted Spotify for de-prioritizing her music so it could promote, of all people, Drake. “Spotify put Drake’s face on every playlist but told me they’d have to teach me a lesson for playing my music 10 mins early on #QueenRadio,” she tweeted. “Even tho they’ve been giving away my music for free for years & I am one of the top Spotify artists of all time.”

Nicki Minaj’s relationship with Drake has been hit-and-miss over the years. The two have collaborated multiple times, but there have also been rumors of tension at different points in their career. Drake said as much on 2013’s “Tuscan Leather.” It appears as though both rappers are on the same page in 2024, however. They are presenting a united front against their critics and their combative peers. Based on the numbers, it seems to be working.

Doja Cat Hints At New Music In Cryptic Video

Fans have been patiently waiting for Doja Cat’s forthcoming fifth album. She hinted at new music on Friday (Nov. 22) in a series of new posts on X. In the first clip, captioned “Let’s talk about it,” she appears ready to speak but abruptly cuts off the video, leaving her followers clamoring for more. In the second post, she simply tweeted, “vie vie vie.” On Thanksgiving, she tweeted the word “vie” in the post: “tu es ma vie,” which translates in Spanish to, “You are my life.”

Speculation began in late October when Doja wiped her X, formerly Twitter, account clean, leaving only a cryptic post that read simply, “album.” In early November, she reignited the hype by posting what appeared to be a tracklist featuring 13 songs. The list, which she quickly deleted, included five-starred tracks that she labeled as her favorites: “Cards,” “Acts of Service,” “Make It Up,” “Did I Lie,” and “Crack.” She clarified that the songs weren’t in their final sequence, adding to the intrigue. The next album will follow her hugely successful fourth album, Scarlet, released in 2023.

Ari Fletcher Threatens To Sue Blogs Alleging That G Herbo Still Pays Her Bills

Ari Fletcher is certainly no stranger to rumors, and recently, the reality star hopped online to shut some down. One X account shared a post accusing Fletcher of getting her bills paid by her ex G Herbo despite being in a relationship with Moneybagg Yo. According to her, she never said this, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Moreover, she thinks haters need to stop focusing on the relationship between her and the father of her child, as it’s simply none of their business.

“I’m gone start suing you b*tches!” she threatened. “I never tweeted no sh*t like this! Tf is wrong with yall. The obsession y’all have with me and my bd is cringy is f*ck. We do not have relations and he don’t pay me nothing. Stop this sh*t! It’s called healthy coparenting. Literally nothing to see here!” Fans can’t blame the Remedy By Ari founder for feeling frustrated, especially since these aren’t the first rumors she’s had to address as of late.

Ari Fletcher Confirms G Herbo Pays Her “Nothing”

Earlier this week, for example, some social media users began to suspect foul play on Fletcher’s part. During a chat with fans on IG Live, a man appeared to sneak behind her, who many theorized was Skilla Baby. This prompted cheating allegations to fly, but she was quick to set the record straight. “The fact that my love life is confusing is hilarious,” she wrote in part on her Instagram Story. She continued, claiming that Skilla Baby is like a brother to her and that the man in the video wasn’t even him.

Skilla Baby later took to X to deny the allegations as well. “G Herbo my real big brotha and one of the only rapper friends I have that I value,” he explained. “I’m not that type of guy and sis ain’t that type of girl 100% not me in no video with Ari.”

The Alchemist Makes Fans Drop To Their Knees After Teasing Even More Music In 2024

The Alchemist already dropped three new albums, he produced for some of the best rappers in the game, and his instrumental landed on the scariest diss track of all time in 2024. What else can he do this year? Well, what Uncle Al knows best: Keeping his foot on the gas. Moreover, fans are incredibly excited for the possibility of something more from the legendary producer this year after his recent tweet on Thursday (November 28). “The year isn’t over,” he tweeted quite ominously and promisingly, even though we and other fans might be delusional in thinking that he’s talking about more new music.

Still, The Alchemist is incredibly prolific, so we wouldn’t be surprised if he has more music to drop this year, another music video, some merch rollout, or another big endeavor that he’s excited to announce. After all, he dropped Black & Whites with Hit-Boy and Big Hit, Heads I Win, Tails You Lose with Oh No as Gangrene, and The Genuine Articulate. Plus, the California native’s eerie piano beat on Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track “meet the grahams” was hip-hop fans’ most played song this year… if Spotify Wrapped did a “Songs That Showed Up In Your Nightmares” edition, that is. Or “Wildest Dreams” if you’re an OVO hater, I guess.

The Alchemist Says “The Year Isn’t Over”

Jokes aside, we have no idea what The Alchemist meant with this new tweet, and we all know that he’s not exactly the most serious person on his Twitter page. Nevertheless, we do know that he apparently has a collab album on the way with Big Sean, so there is definitely something coming eventually. If this is all wishful thinking, though, it would be ridiculous for us to complain when we already got so much quality.

However, it turns out that maybe we should absolutely take The Alchemist’s word here, since he proved that he’s a bit of a prophet. He guessed earlier this year that Kendrick Lamar would drop an album in 2024, and we were all surprised by GNX‘s release. Sure, there’s a whole lot of people that guessed this too, but we’d never say no to new Al, so we’re just trying to manifest without rushing greatness.

Beyonce’s Publicist Breaks Silence On Whether Singer Is Touring Soon

Beyonce is definitely in her prestige era. The singer dominated the 2000s, but the 2010s and beyond have seen her release increasingly experimental and sonically rich albums. Cowboy Carter is one such example. The album sees Beyonce foray into country music, and fans and critics alike have praised her sophisticated approach. Queen Bey’s live show is a huge part of her appeal as an artist, though, so the fans are eager to find out when she plans to go on tour. And her publicist finally gave an update on Nov. 27.

Yvette Noel-Schure, Beyonce’s longtime publicist, responded to a tweet on Wednesday evening. The social media account Pop Tingz claimed that the singer was going out on tour at the top of 2025. “[It’s] set to kick off with her halftime performance at the NFL Christmas Game,” the outlet claimed. Beyonce’s publicist quickly shut this allegation down. “Untrue,” Noel-Schure tweeted back. “Nothing to report here. Whenever there is any news, you will hear it directly from the source first.” This is not the first time that Yvette Noel-Schure has had to contend with rumors about a Beyonce tour.

Beyonce Will Not Be Touring At The Top Of 2025

A source told The Daily Mail that Beyonce was prepping “to unveil a series of UK stadium gigs for next summer.” These dates were alleged to include five shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. It has been firmly refuted by Noel-Schure’s tweet, however. Beyonce may not be hitting the road at any point in the near future, but fans will get a chance to see her in action at the aforementioned Christmas Game. Beyonce confirmed she will be performing during halftime for the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game. The game will air on Dec. 25 via Netflix. It will mark the first time Queen Bey plays songs from Cowboy Carter in public.

Beyonce’s lack of promotion regarding the album has not hurt it in terms of accolades. Cowboy Carter has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. This sizable number brings Beyonce’s total count of Grammy nominations to 99. This means she is the most recognized artist in the organization’s history. Hopefully fans will get a chance to see Bey for themselves at some point in 2025.

Kanye West’s 2020 Tweet About The “Big Three” Resurfaces Amidst Feud

The “Big Three” has really imploded in 2024. Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J Cole declared war on each other, and chaos has ensued. Drake and Cole’s careers have suffered, and Lamar has become the new king of the genre. Kanye West, meanwhile, looms over the “Big Three.” He’s a major influence on all three artists, and has had complicated relationships with each of them over the years. He even got on a remix to “Like That” to throw shots at Drake and Cole. This combativeness was not always the case, though. A tweet from 2020 shows that Kanye West had other plans in mind for the talented trio.

West’s 2020 post about Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J Cole has gone semi viral in the wake of Drake’s legal drama. He praised all three artists, and claimed that he wanted to get them all in the same room in the interest of doing something great for the genre. “We need J Cole Drake Kendrick all in a room 2gthr,” Kanye West wrote. “It’s time to get free… we will not argue… while somebody we don’t know in Europe is getting paid.” It’s a fascinating idea, given how fractured the relationships between all four of these men have become in the last few years.

Kanye West Wanted To “Free” Drake, Kendrick And Cole

Kanye West’s tweet is also fascinating given its business implications. The rapper has been rallying against the traditional label system for a decade. He’s suffered financial losses as a result, but he has also claimed to be “free” as a result. Conversely, he called out Drake for being a product of the label machine, and someone who did the biding of those in power. Kanye West suggesting that the biggest rappers in the world team up is so powerful because he alludes to taking back power. He wants to see the men he influenced break “free” of the system.

It’s a sentiment that Kanye West expressed far more negatively during a 2024 appearance on The Download podcast. He claimed Drake had a “rich baby daddy” at UMG named Lucian Grainge. Drake’s decision to file a lawsuit against UMG and Spotify seemingly supports West’s comments. It’s interesting to think of an alternate timeline in which West, Drake, Kendrick and Cole did get a room together around 2020. It’s impossible to say whether or not the “Big Three” battle would have been avoided, but it’s fun to ponder regardless.

Mustard Admits To Yelling Own Name After Kendrick Lamar “TV Off” Meme

Mustard has worked with Kendrick Lamar twice, and both times have yielded major results. The first time, Mustard and Lamar produced the number one single “Not Like Us.” The second time, they made “TV Off,” a standout cut from Lamar’s new album. Lamar’s “Mustard!” ad-lib has taken the internet by storm, and everybody is yelling the producer’s name at the top of their lungs. Lizzo did it during Kai Cenat’s live stream, and now Mustard himself is getting in on the fun.

The L.A. producer confirmed that he has fallen under the spell of Lamar’s song on November 27. He hopped on Twitter and claimed that he caught himself shouting out the “Mustard!” ad-lib despite the fact that he’s the producer in question. “I just walked down the street,” he wrote. “And yelled my own name. I forgot it was me.” The comment section was flooded with laughing emojis, as many knew how catchy and addictive the “TV Off” chant has been to repeat since its release. It’s part of what has made the song so popular. It’ll be exciting to see how the memes translate to Billboard chart success.

Mustard Claimed He May Have A New Producer Tag

Mustard told Billboard that he was honored to be included on Kendrick Lamar’s new album, let alone get a shout out from the rapper. “That sh*t was elite. So fire,” Mustard explained to the outlet. “Like, is that a new tag? I can’t wait to perform that song and just hear people saying that, ’cause everybody’s going to say that like crazy.” The producer also praised Lamar for his ability to synthesize different styles and rap sounds into a cohesive whole. Mustard may have gotten the shout out, but Sounwave, Sean Momberger and Kamasi Washington are also credited on “TV Off.”

“I was losing it,” Mustard said when he first heard the song. “I mean, I already knew I do me with the beats, you know? But Kendrick is the best rapper, bro. Like, of all time. I think he’s one of the best.” Mustard is not alone in his praise. The hip hop community has rallied around Kendrick Lamar since GNX dropped. Nas, Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dogg are just some of the genre legends who have gone on to social media to praise the rapper’s latest effort.

MGK Claims He’s “Isolating” In Desert Before Megan Fox Gives Birth

MGK and Megan Fox are not a normal couple. They are strange even by celebrity couple standards. From their polarizing joint interviews to MGK’s infamous “I am weed” proclamation when they first met, the two have continued to baffle and fascinate the public. Their streak of inexplicable choices was extended on Monday, November 25. MGK took to social media to announce that he was taking drastic measures to finish recording on his upcoming album. Measures made all the more drastic by the fact that Megan Fox is currently pregnant with their child.

MGK hopped on Twitter to inform fans that he will be retreating to the desert. He’s not hiding out from his partner or anything, he merely wants to get his head straight and focus on music. “Isolating myself in the desert next week to restart this album from scratch,” the rapper turned rock star explained to his fan base. “When inspiration flows through me unblocked, we will reach the destination in no time.” Perhaps sensing that fans would be confused by the timing, MGK assured them he is ready to assume dad duty when he returns. “Don’t worry,” he added. “After all, I’m about to be a dad again!”

MGK Wants To Complete His Album Before Fox Is Due

MGK has been vocal about the impact that fatherhood has had on his life. The rapper told the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast that it was the birth of his daughter, Casie Baker, that helped him to get sober. “It took me a while afterward, because obviously drugs have a vice grip on you,” MGK admitted. “That was step one for me. As a father and as a man, to be the father I wish my dad would have been, I have to break this generational curse for my kid.”

MGK and Megan Fox will be welcoming their first child today after the latter suffered a miscarriage. She opened up about the traumatic experience during a 2023 interview with Good Morning America. “I’ve never been through anything like that in my life,” Fox noted. “I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us.” MGK dedicated the songs “Don’t Let Me Go” and “Last November” to his unborn child.

Antonio Brown Mocks Kim Kardashian For Still Being In Law School

Antonio Brown has always got jokes. The former NFL star and social media presence has gotten in hot water for making fun of pretty much everyone. He decided to keep his trolling streak going on November 26, when he targeted Kim Kardashian. While most celebrities have been supportive of Kardashian taking an interest in law, AB decided to target the celebrity’s intelligence with a meme from a classic Adam Sandler movie. No caption needed, the message was loud and clear.

Kim Kardashian posted a photo of herself to Instagram with the caption: “law school.” As we previously noted, the celebrity’s foray into law has been met with praise from fans. But this particular post turned a few heads. Fans were perplexed as to why Kardashian was still in law school. Especially since a standard law degree takes three years. Antonio Brown saw a wide opening with regards to mockery, and he took it. He posted a photo of Adam Sandler from the 1995 cult classic Billy Madison. Sandler’s titular character sits among elementary school students while AB’s caption reads: “Kim Kardashian begins year 7 of law school.”

Antonio Brown Posted A Photo From Billy Madison

The plot of Billy Madison sees Sandler’s character attend grades 1-12 in an attempt to inherit his dad’s fortune. Antonio Brown knew exactly what he was doing when he posted the photo, and fans flocked to the comment section with laughing emojis. Kim Kardashian has spoken at length about her aspiration to become a lawyer. She cited her late father, Robert Kardashian, as her biggest career influence. She also admitted that she failed her first year of law school, which has likely contributed to her lengthy degree process.

Kim Kardashian provided an update on her law school progress during a 2023 appearance on Today. “I’m still studying,” she conceded. “I’m actually in constitutional law 1 and 2 right now. Not the biggest fan of it, I’ve been sharing my struggle. But with that said, I took a midterm yesterday. I got 100 percent… That gives me that boost of confidence again just to push through.” Kim Kardashian will not be deterred from achieving her dream, even if people like Antonio Brown are going to clown her for it.

Drake Puts Universal Music On Blast In Resurfaced Tweet From 2011

Drake has seemingly run out of rappers to battle with, so now he’s taking on record labels. The 6 God decided to file a petition against Universal Music Group on Monday, November 25. The petition claimed that UMG partnered with Spotify to boost the sales and visibility of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” all the while failing to put the same effort and promotion behind Drake’s music. It was definitely surprising, but those who have been following Drake’s career know this label tension is nothing new.
