Young Thug’s Top 10 Most Streamed Songs

Young Thug is one of the most popular artists of our generation. Through his unique voice and delivery, he’s paved the way for many other artists. He’s already been in the game long enough to have inspired people through his music. With a label under his belt and successful members on it, he’s already left his mark on the game. He’s also collaborated with multiple other popular artists both in the rap world and outside of it. These include not only people on his albums, but his features on other people’s albums. With so much music in discography, one might wonder which songs are bringing in the most listeners. In this list, we’ll be examining his most streamed songs on Spotify.

#10: Never Hating – Lil Baby feat. Young Thug

Young Thug and Lil Baby have multiple songs together. This one comes from Lil Baby’s album It’s Only Me. Young Thug comes in on the second half of the track and uses a flow that dances over and around the production. The strings on the song add a small sense of drama to the head nod-inducing production and trap drums.Thug doesn’t weave in any singing this time but the flow is what holds listeners attention during his portion. His verse is short but fits in well with the tone set by Lil Baby on the hook and his verse. They may not trade bars on this one but their presence compliments each other on the song.

#9 Metro Spider – Metro Boomin (with Young Thug)

This is one of Young Thug’s most recent songs and his performance on it was very well received. As one of the solo cuts on the Metro Boomin helmed album, Thugger made sure he left his mark. The focus is on him and he made sure listeners stayed locked in on everything he had to say. Over menacing piano keys and bell chimes, Thug crafted an earworm of a hook and verses that complement it well. The most standout point is in his second verse where he goes into a bouncy pocket with his flow that’s catchy and infectious. His adlibs on this one are more understated but they still are effective. It may not be gym playlist worthy, but the energy is still present on this one.

Listen

#8 Trance – Metro Boomin (with Travis Scott and Young Thug)

Thug and Travis’s melodic techniques have been well-documented across the years. In this cut from Metro Boomin’s album HEROES AND VILLAINS, the iconic duo put their vocals on display. Metro crafts a dreamy atmosphere for them and they deliver. Thug opts for a rap sung flow that matches the atmosphere of the song well. The strings that come in during portions of his verse enhance his flow well and take the song to the next level. As expected, Thug blends his vulnerabilities and flexing in a unique verse The final moments of his verse have him in a mini duet and his vocals blend well with Travis’. This is one for late-night listening and everything in it sets the tone for that.

Listen

#7 Potion – Calvin Harris (with Dua Lipa and Young Thug)

Rappers collaborating with pop artists is not something that’s unheard of. But, when it does happen, listeners are always curious about how it comes out. This one has pop superstar Dua Lipa and producer Calvin Harris on the production. Thug’s first verse finds him showcasing his rapping and singing skills over a summery beat. Towards the end of it, he uses a unique singing technique. He comes back in for the song’s bridge which features more vocal gymnastics from him. Dua’s hook takes up most of the song but Thug makes his presence known. Anyone who wasn’t familiar with him found out quickly once they heard his contribution to the song. This one was interesting to say the least.

#6 Solid – Young Thug feat. Drake and Gunna

Drake and Thug have had several tracks together over the years. Gunna has a verse after Drake’s and before Thug’s. The eerie production of this one is one of the main draw-ins to this song for sure. At the beginning of Gunna’s verse, there’s a beat switch and the original comes right back flawlessly.  The second beat comes back during his verse too. Young Thug closes out the song with a verse that sees him using a more understated delivery. He’s not whispering but still keeping the volume at a relaxed level. There’s some alliteration towards the end of his verse and Thug delivers it effortlessly. We get a beat switch during his verse too which adds to the layers of production the song has and showcases his ability to adapt to it.

Listen

#5 Hot (Remix) – Young Thug feat. Gunna and Travis Scott

This remix was on the deluxe edition of Young Thug’s album So Much Fun. The original featured frequent collaborator Gunna. This remix features another frequent collaborator, Travis Scott. Thug starts his verse with some vocals that are hard to hear because of his volume and how he’s saying them. However, after this moment he picks up in volume and energy. Many may remember how much Thug name dropped Cartier in this verse. His flow skated all over the horns on the song and he ended the verse the same way he started it. But, at the end, he had vocalizations from Travis in the background and he did deliver the bars at a slightly higher volume.

Listen

#4 Way 2 Sexy – Drake feat. Future and Young Thug

If there’s one thing Drake and his team know how to do, it’s generate buzz. When the tracklist for Certified Lover Boy released, many were equally skeptical and intrigued by this track title. The song samples another song titled “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred. Future interlopes the hook from that song and also has a verse. Thug comes in calm and confident after that verse with a flow of his own.  Thug’s flow is unique as it has a “start-stop” cadence to it that fits the bounce of the song. Much like the entire mood of the song, several of Thug’s bars have a certain silliness to them. Still, we all remember how we felt the first time we heard this one.

Listen

#3 Go Crazy – Chris Brown & Young Thug

This song came out in 2020 but radio stations still have it in rotation like it came out last week. This track comes from Chris Brown and Thugger’s collab album Slime & B. Fittingly, Thug’s verse on here heavily favors singing. Over glistening keys, he croons about his thoughts on his lover. Background vocalizations enhance the melodic delivery of his verse. This time around, he’s not on hook duty with Chris and has only one moment on the track. However, before his verse begins, we do get some vocalizations from him. We have come to expect these to precede his verses as it lets us know he’s on the song. While it can be generally classified as R&B, this one fits better in the daytime. The upbeat drums and keys make it ideal to play during a day out.

#2 pick up the phone – Travis Scott feat. Young Thug

This was not the first collab between these two artists but it was one of their most popular. The hook has Travis on the first half and Thug on the second half. Thug’s portion sees him showcasing his vocals with just a splash of autotune in the hook’s first appearance. Thug uses his verse for braggadocios bars in the first half of his verse. He also weaves in reflection on his mother in the second half of the verse. Almost each line of his verse has an ad-lib on this one and they are all fun and hype as we expect. For many listeners, this was the song that sparked the idea that these two needed a collab project.

Listen

#1 The London – Young Thug feat. J. Cole and Travis Scott

Hearing J.Cole and Young Thug on a song together is something nobody imagined would ever happen. Travis Scott is on this one too. J.Cole’s verse was praised, as per usual. Thug comes in after him and uses three flows total for his verse. All of them blend well with the production which is a testament to his versatility. The first one is somewhat scattered yet cohesive. The second finds him in a high register with a rap sung flow. The third one finds him in a more traditional one that closes his verse well. This was easily one of the most popular songs the year it dropped mainly because the collab was so unexpected. It also came out really well.

Travis Scott & Epic Records CEO Share Promising Update On “Utopia” Release Date

Among the several albums expected to drop this year, fans are anxious to hear Travis Scott’s Utopia. It’s been five years since Astroworld and Scott’s gone through the highs-and-lows of stardom within that period. He’s become one of the biggest brands in America with collaborations alongside McDonald’s, Jordan, and Fortnite to show for it. At the same time, his long-awaited “comeback” was impeded by the tragic events that transpired at Astroworld Festival in 2021.

Since the deadly crowd crush, Scott’s remained rather lowkey in the public eye. He hasn’t dropped much music since then, so it’s still unclear what we should expect from him o Utopia. Though he previously hinted at a project titled, Dystopia, the predecessor to Utopia, it appears that those plans may have been trashed and he’s gearing up to directly unleash his his fourth studio album.

Epic Records CEO Shares Update On Travis Scott’s “Utopia” Release Date

Travis Scott’s boss quietly revealed when we should expect the project last month. In a resurfaced excerpt from Sylvia Rhone’s cover story for Billboard’s Women In Music 2023’s Executive Of The Year, she outlined what to expect from the label, including a timeframe for Scott’s forthcoming effort. “We have a new Travis Scott record, expected to come in June,” Rhone’s said before giving a shout out to Future. “Last year, Future delivered the biggest album of his 10-year career at the company. How many hip-hop artists can do that and still be relevant?”

The resurfaced excerpt comes shortly after Travis Scott announced that his upcoming album would arrive after the rest of the Cactus Jack roster releases their respective projects. It seems that the campaign began this morning when Don Toliver released Love Sick. “We got Faygo about to put a little EP out. That’s on the way. And right after that, Utopia,” he said during a concert. So, it seems like Utopia will be coming out just in time for the summer, if all goes to plan. Just before that, he informed fans that Utopia was coming soon during a celebrity softball game. Check out Scott’s announcement above.

Kylie Jenner Takes Children Aire And Stormi To Disneyland

One-year-old Aire, son to Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner, recently visited his first theme park with his mom and sister, Stormi, last Friday (Feb. 17). The mother of two took to social media as she showed off her day with the children and her niece, Chicago, in tow. According to reports, it appears to be the toddler’s first major public outing. For the girls, not by far.

While the reality star’s Instagram Stories have since expired, dozens of fan pages scoured the internet for photos of the crew at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. In one from Instagram user @kylie.sassy, you see the baby formerly known as Wolf tucked away in a stroller as he adorns his newly-obtained toy. In another, Aire is secured by Kylie as they take a ride on one of the park’s kiddie attractions.

Kylie Jenner Goes To Disneyland

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner announced their son to the world on February 2, 2022. Since his birth, Aire has undergone a name change after his mother had a change of heart. “I thought it would just come to us when we saw him and it didn’t, and 24 hours before we had to register him, Khloé [Kardashian] said, ‘What about Wolf?’” She said on an episode of Hulu’s Kardashians. “And I liked the ‘W W’ so we just put Wolf Webster in the moment and right after I signed the birth certificate, I thought, ‘What did I just do?’”

Less than a month ago, the socialite cleared the air on how to pronounce her son’s name. Though it may have come off as “Air-y” to most (and lewd to some), Jenner made it clear with her one-word reply that it’s simply “Air.” Travis and Kylie are co-parenting well, as there have been reports the two have seemingly separated. After not appearing together during the holidays, fans and newsrooms alike began rumors of their split, until a source from US Weekly confirmed the true tea. “This has happened so many times before, they’re known to be on again off again, but always remain friends and great co-parents,” they alluded.

Travis Scott’s ‘Utopia’ Album Is Coming Soon, But Under One Very Specific Condition, He Revealed

Travis Scott’s highly-anticipated fourth album, Utopia, will be coming soon, according to the Houston hitmaker. However, not before his Cactus Jack artists, Sheck Wes, Don Toliver, SoFaygo, and DJ Chase B, drop their upcoming projects.

In a clip that has surfaced online, the rapper and producer can be seen on stage sharing the announcement with a crowd of fans, who were more than excited to hear the news.

Travis Scott hasn’t said much about his upcoming project but did note that it would be out sometime this year. The rapper has been slowly creeping back into the public’s eye since the tragedy at Astroworld, his annual music festival, in 2021. Recently, Scott made appearances on both Metro Boomin’s Heros & Villians as well as SZA’s SOS album that was released last year.

Aside from new music, the rapper is expected to perform at Rolling Loud and the Wireless Festival alongside acts like Cardi B, Playboi Carti, and more.

Don Toliver will be the first Cactus Jack artist expected to drop this year. The “After Party” rapper’s third album Love Sick will be released on Friday (February 24). In the meantime, the rest of the Jackboys are hard at work on their upcoming projects.

Travis Scott Confirms That “Utopia” Is “On The Way”

Travis Scott should be here any second now. Since the fall of 2020, the Houston icon has been teasing his fourth official studio album Utopia. Although he has provided continuous updates regarding it, very little music has materialized. But, you could likely attribute part of that to Fall 2021’s Astroworld catastrophe. While he was just beginning to rev up his album rollout, the disaster happened. At his annual Astroworld festival in Nov. 2021, 10 people in the crowd died because of how crammed and rowdy it was. The night before that, though, Scott had put out his first two promotional singles for the album. “Escape Plan” and “Mafia” were meant to get fans hyped for the impending album. Instead, that is the last we’ve heard of Travis in the form of a solo release since.

However, in 2022, he did take on some duties as a feature artist. Whether it be Southside’s “Hold That Heat,” NAV’s “Never Sleep” or Pharrell William’s “Down In Atlanta,” Travis Scott was busy all year. Additionally, he gave four guest verses for Metro Boomin’s December album Heroes & Villains. It seems he used 2022 as a nice way to revamp his career. Fans are now hoping this indicates Utopia will arrive soon. And, this week, he added fuel to the Utopia fire once more.

Travis Scott’s Promise

On Thursday (Feb. 16), Travis Scott hosted the 2023 Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic at Minute Maid Park in his hometown of Houston, TX. Travis had many celebrities and H-town legends join him for this event to fill the rosters. Alongside Metro Boomin, basketball stars like Tracy McGrady and Steve Francis and football stars like Andre Johnson, Vince Young, and Adrian Peterson all participated. In one moment of the game, Travis hit a running round ball that almost saw him record a single. But, he was thrown out in the nick of time.

But, the real story of the day came after the game. While signing autographs for fans and Houstonians, Travis was badgered about Utopia. When fans continued asking him when the LP would come, he gave them an inspiring answer. “That motherf**ker on the way,” Scott proclaimed. The video posted showed Travis eagerly shouting this, which means he could be excited about a soon-to-come rollout. Although he recently broke it off with his baby momma Kylie Jenner for good, Travis Scott seems to be in good spirits during a year that could be huge for his career.

Jay-Z, Drake, Travis Scott & More Pop Out At Michael Rubin’s Super Bowl Party

Michael Rubin, CEO of Fanatics, has become known as one of the best party-throwers in the world. While also having an ownership stake in sports franchises like the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils, he also owns another brand. Alongside Jay-Z, Meek Mill and Lil Baby, Rubin has an ownership stake in the long-famous merchandise brand Mitchell & Ness. All of these endeavors not only show his supreme business practices though, but also his friends in high places. So, as if to flex his otherworldly social circle, Rubin likes to throw parties.

Aside from his annual, all-white themed Fourth of July party, Rubin also typically throws a Super Bowl just a day before the big game. With all the celebs, musicians and athletes in Arizona this past weekend for Super Bowl LVII, Rubin threw another bash on Saturday (Feb. 11). Beforehand, there were slated to be four major performances for the party, but it ended up totaling nine different performers. Pre-planned acts like Travis Scott, Lil Baby, The Chainsmokers and J Balvin were joined by DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, A$AP Ferg, Fabolous and Bobby Shmurda later on.

Michael Rubin Keeps It Exclusive

The guest list for the rager could not have been more high-profile. Athletes like Shaq, Buffalo Bills’ Demar Hamlin, Jaguars’ QB Trevor Lawrence, Phoenix Suns players Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Chris Paul, 49ers QB Brock Purdy and NFL icon Odell Beckham Jr. showed up. Additionally, movie stars like Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Paul Rudd turned up. Along with those performing, rappers Drake, Jay-Z, Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo and YG made appearances. It’s safe to say this is an early contender for party of the year. However, not everyone was able to join in for the fun.

Reports from Daily Mail revealed that many folks were denied entrance. The gathering took place at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, and was full of security. Over 2,000 individuals were sent away at the door, even those who offered to pay up to six figures to be let in. Additionally, a few desperate souls were thwarted after attempts to to jump the fence. A source told Daily Mail that the security was top-notch. “Some tried-to go through the main hotel entrance, some tried to hop the security fence and others tried to sneak into the VIP check in,” they said. “But multiple security guards handled would-be trespassers superbly. Fort Knox would have been a lot easier to infiltrate!” Check out some photos and video from the party below.

Fans Are Split On Kylie Jenner And Travis Scott Throwing An ‘Astroworld’-Themed Birthday Party For Their Son

Travis Scott might be slowly returning from his self-imposed exile to headline festivals again this year, but fans don’t seem apt to let him forget about the disaster at his own Astroworld Festival which prompted him to go on hiatus in the first place.

Case in point: Travis and Kylie Jenner have come under fire for the decorations for their one-year-old son Aire’s birthday day, which were inspired by the massive inflatable head from the festival. The festival’s decorations were, of course, inspired by Travis’ third studio album, also called Astroworld and named after a defunct theme park in his hometown, Houston.

As he told GQ in 2017, “They tore down AstroWorld to build more apartment space… We want it back. We want the building back. That’s why I’m doing it. It took the fun out of the city.”

Observers on social media are calling out the Astroworld-themed celebration for “mocking” the victims of the doomed 2021 festival, during which a crowd crush caused 10 deaths and hundreds of injuries. Travis is still facing a massive wrongful death/injury lawsuit combining over 1,000 cases, and some survivors have criticized his efforts to make amends.

However, some fans are defending the couple, pointing out that they’ve used similar theming for their six-year-old daughter Stormi’s parties in the past and arguing that the decorations are a reference to the album, not the festival.
