TLC’s T-Boz Says Her Daughter Was Almost Sex Trafficked
Be careful of your surroundings because T-Boz claims her daughter almost became a kidnapping victim. The TLC icon shared her story on Instagram, and it all began when her 22-year-old daughter Chase left a doctor’s appointment. T-Boz, real name Tionne Watkins, shares Chase with rapper Mack 10. According to Watkins, Chase noticed something “weird” on her windshield. She was aware of sex trafficking tactics, so she didn’t touch the item and instead jumped in her car and drove to a public, safe location.
“You’ll always hear about sex trafficking and stuff like that. So, my daughter was just leaving the doctor’s office, and when she came to the car, she had a weird thing on her windshield wiper,” explained T-Boz. “So, instead of touching it, ’cause when you do they’ll have some kind of drug substance on there that’ll make you drowsy and knock you out.” Quick thinking may have saved Chase’s life.
T-Boz Issues a Warning
She continued: “So this is the thing. She looked at her surroundings, she hurried up and got in the car, drove off. Went to a safe, crowded location, and took some object to knock it off. But now, the concern is now I hear they put trackers on your car. So if you have a father, brother, male around, police station, wherever, make sure y’all check for trackers so they won’t track you guys home or to the next location.”
Meanwhile, Chase shared her mother’s video on her Instagram Story and was surprised it went viral. She echoed T-Boz and cautioned the public to stay alert. The windshield trick is a common tactic with traffickers and people looking to track potential victims. They usually leave a note, a flower, or some strange item on a person’s car. When someone stops to view or read, it gives a kidnapper or trafficker enough time to snatch the person away. Additionally, people leave markings on vehicles that look like strange lettering. It’s the trafficker’s way of noting if the potential victim, usually a woman, has children or a man with her. These markings have also been found outside of people’s homes on mailboxes. Doechii is plotting on the summer with her first drop of 2023 alongside Kodak Black. The TDE signee just came through with her new single, “What It Is (Block Boy)” featuring the Florida star, which could very well have the airwaves dominated for the months to come. The song exudes classic 90s R&B-Rap crossover vibes based on the sheer chemistry between the two artists. However, the iconic sample of TLC’s “No Scrubs” and Trimville’s “Some Cut” further emphasizes their dynamic on wax.
Doechii’s sugary hook and lustful verses lay down the tone with infectious lyrics, as she details an ideal relationship. Kodak Black provides the male perspective on the record with his own needs from his love interest. Though the pairing is unexpected, Yak continues to prove that, beyond his controversies, his talents are undeniable, even if his attempts to reach Drake-level Billboard records seem like a far-reach.
Doechii Collides With Kodak Black On Their New Collab
The song undoubtedly showcases Doechii’s versatility. We’ve heard her take on different routes but “What It Is (Block Boy)” ft. Kodak Black feels like it could be the record that truly has her dominating summer 2023. “This song is a fusion of nostalgia and pop vibes,” Doechii said. “I feel like I’m showing off a side of my vocal range with this one that my fans haven’t really seen yet. I love using the old samples of [TLC’s] ‘No Scrubs’ and [Trimville’s] ‘Some Cut’ to mix in some playful energy as well.”
Hopefully, this single leads the campaign for her follow-up to she / her / black b*tch, which produced singles like “Persuasive” ft. fellow TDE labelmate, SZA, and the Rico Nasty-assisted, “Swamp B**ches.” So far, she hasn’t made any major announcement on album plans but if “What it Is” succeeds the way it’s supposed to, we might not be too far away from a release date.

TLC’s Chilli Dating Matthew Lawrence, Rep Says She’s “In Love”
After initially denying that they were dating, TLC’s Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas and ’90s heartthrob Matthew Lawrence have confirmed their romance. The 51-year-old singer and 42-year-old actor were previously spotted vacationing together. Paparazzi photographed them enjoying time at the beach; however, rumors of a budding relationship were quickly thwarted.
Yet, the pair are kicking off the new year by revealing to the world that they are, indeed, seeing one another. PEOPLE reported that Chilli’s representative confirmed the gossip, adding that the couple began dating sometime around Thanksgiving.

The TLC hitmaker has been tied to major players like Dallas Austin and Usher, but most of her love life has gone unknown. Back in 2010, What Chilli Wants premiered and documented the singer’s quest to find true love.

Chloe x Halle Fire Off A Soaring Cover Of TLC’s Timeless Track ‘Waterfalls’
It’s been nearly a year since Chloe x Halle released their standout sophomore album Ungodly Hour, but the two are still making sure there’s enough music to go around. They’ve been holding fans over with a number of fun covers, and they’ve now taken a stab at a rendition of TLC’s classic song “Waterfalls.”
Chloe x Halle take the sultry cover as an opportunity to once again showcase their impressive vocal range. “This song speaks so much to who we are as artists and human beings,” the duo said about the song. “We always say music is therapy to us because the lyrics are healing. There’s something about singing these words to yourself—it turns into an encouraging mantra that makes you feel inspired after listening.” This isn’t the first time the duo have covered “Waterfalls.” Back in June of 2020, Chloe x Halle shared a medley of covers to their YouTube page featuring songs by Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah, and TLC, saying they are three artists who have “inspired” them immensely.
Ahead of sharing their rendition of “Waterfalls,” Chloe x Halle have taken on a number of other hit songs. They recently released a moving cover of “Georgia On My Mind” for the 2020 Masters Tournament. Before that, Chloe Bailey took on a cover of Cardi B’s “Be Careful,” Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open,” and Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain.”
