“The Jamie Foxx Show” Stars: Where Are They Now?

The Jamie Foxx Show premiered on The WB on August 28, 1996. With its hilarious cast led by the phenomenal Jamie Foxx, the show delivered laughter, charisma, and unforgettable moments to audiences across the nation. Altogether, it has 100 episodes split across five seasons that ran from 1996 to 2001. Although it’s been over two decades since it ended, many fans dearly hold fond memories of watching its episodes. Also, new audiences continue to find and experience it. Recently, Christopher B. Duncan, who played Braxton P. Hartnabrig, posted on Instagram about his time on the series and mentioned that he almost got a spinoff. While that unfortunately never happened, he, as well as the other stars, have achieved much since the show ended. Here’s what the stars of The Jamie Foxx Show has been up to, and where they are now.

Co-creator and central character of the show, Jamie Foxx held it down through all five seasons. Foxx’s portrayal of Jamie King aptly showcased his comedic talents and laid the foundation for his successful career in Hollywood. Since the show wrapped in 2001, the actor has achieved some very impressive feats. In 2005, he swept up awards at the Oscars, Golden Globes, and BAFTA ceremonies, among others, for his outstanding performance in Ray. Additionally, Foxx won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group in 2010.

Today, Jamie Foxx is a very accomplished and recognized figure in the entertainment industry. Foxx has starred in many films since 2001, including Dreamgirls (2006), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), and They Cloned Tyrone (2023), among others. Now 56 years old, he is still going strong. The actor is set to appear in a handful of upcoming movies, like Back In Action which also stars Cameron Diaz.

Garcelle Beauvais (Francesca Danielle “Fancy” Monroe)

For five seasons, Garcelle Beauvais portrayed the character Francesca Monroe on The Jamie Foxx Show. The romantic arc of her and Foxx’s character was one of the highlights of the entire show. Before starring in the show, Beauvais was a prominent young model and had appeared in a handful of other shows and movies. However, she mostly appeared in recurring or guest roles, and her part on The Jamie Foxx Show was one of her first major TV roles. She has built a very impressive catalog since then, racking up acting credits in several films and shows. These include The Mentalist (2014), Spider-Man: Homecoming(2017), and Coming 2 America (2021), among others.

Jamie King’s nemesis-turned-best friend, Braxton, was hilariously portrayed by the talented Christopher B. Duncan. An important character on The Jamie Foxx Show, he was present throughout the show’s five seasons. Since the show’s finale, Christopher B. Duncan has bagged roles in many other films and TV shows. These include My Name Is Khan (2010), The First Family (2012 – 2015), and First Kill (2022), among others. In addition, the 59-year-old is a father of three, and has been married to Susan Wood Duncan since 2007. Interestingly enough, Duncan revealed that he and Susan, his on-screen girlfriend on The Jamie Foxx Show, were considered to star in a spin-off series.

Ellia English (Aunt Helen King)

Another series regular, Ellia English portrayed the beloved Aunt Helen on The Jamie Foxx Show. After moving on from the show, English went on to star in a handful of TV shows and movies. While her filmography is not as extensive as others on this list, it is still impressive. Ellia English has acting credits on Curb Your Enthusiasm (2007 – 2009), Cornered! (2009), and Good Luck Charlie (2010 – 2014), among others. However, since the final season of Code Black aired in 2018, she has not appeared on screen.

Acting veteran Garrett Morris first appeared on-screen in 1960, and has a career that spans over six decades. His portrayal of Uncle Junior King on The Jamie Foxx Show was one of the best parts of the show. Like the aforementioned stars, Morris was also a series regular throughout the show’s five season. By the time the show finished in 2001, Morris was 64 years old. However, in subsequent years, he continued to act, starring in many shows and movies. Now 86 years old, he has appeared in recent movies and shows including Grand-Daddy Day Care (2019), Self Made (2020), and How I Met Your Father (2023), among others.

Andy Berman

Andy Berman is the only member of the main cast who did not appear in all five seasons of the show. As a matter of fact, he was only a series regular for the first 12 episodes of the first season. In those episodes, Berman portrayed the character Dennis, the bellboy of King’s Tower. After leaving The Jamie Foxx Show, Berman went on to build his career as an actor, writer, and producer. He starred in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2004), as well as Psych (2006 – 2014) which he also has writing and production credits on. Additionally, Berman is well known for his voice role as Dib Membrane in Invader Zim. He has starred in a handful of other shows and movies.

Jaleel White’s portrayal of the iconic Steve Urkel catapulted him to fame. The actor has since come a long way from his suspenders and nasal voice. While he wasn’t always welcome by the cast, there seems to be no animosity between them today. Beyond Family Matters, White has dabbled in voice acting, reality TV, and more. He has been in projects such as Sonic the Hedgehog, The Preacher’s Son, Sonic Underground, and Trial & Error. White’s career has also evolved beyond the Urkel persona, proving his versatility as an actor. White also launched his own cannabis line, which he named Purple Urkel. He shares a daughter with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Hardy.

Next up is the man who kept the Winslow ship afloat, Reginald VelJohnson. After portraying the lovable and stern Carl Winslow, he also remained active in the entertainment industry. VelJohnson continued his acting career with roles in various TV series and movies, including Die Hard and its sequels. He can also be seen in other popular projects, including: Like Mike, The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee, Turner & Hooch, and Pride And Prejudice: Atlanta. Overall, VelJohnson continues to bring his A-game to the entertainment scene.

The matriarch of the Winslow family, Jo Marie Payton, has been far from idle since her days as Harriette. After Family Matters, Payton appeared in numerous television shows and movies, displaying her acting prowess greatly. Kellie Shanygne Williams played the Winslow family’s eldest daughter Laura, and has also pursued a diverse career since the end of the show. Darius McCrary who portrayed Eddie Winslow, continued to build his acting career post-Family Matters. He has starred in various TV series such as Freedom, Kingpin, Committed, and Monogamy. McCrary has also been in films like Steppin: The Movie, He’s Mine Not Yours, and Wayward. In addition to acting, McCrary is also a musician, showcasing his multifaceted talents. In November 2023, the actor was arrested for the second time. He was charged with failure to pay child support. While he spent time behind bars, it is unknown if he’s out.

“Martin” Stars: Where Are They Now?

Martin is a groundbreaking comedy show that was one of the most popular series on Fox during its five-season run. Featuring a phenomenal ensemble cast led by co-creator Martin Lawrence, the show aired from 1992 to 1997. A cornerstone of ‘90s television, Lawrence and his talented cast left an indelible mark on the hearts of audiences. Although it’s been over 25 years since it wrapped, Martin’s legacy endures. Likewise, its stars remain favorites of audiences old and new. While they have moved on to other things since finishing the show, their work on it will always be appreciated. For anyone wondering, here’s where the stars of the show Martin are now.

Martin Lawrence (Martin Payne)

The leading man of the show himself, Martin Lawrence has stayed booked and busy since the show ended. A comedy icon, he has starred in many movies and TV shows over the years, some of which he also directed, wrote, or produced. Movies and shows he has appeared in since Martin include Big Momma’s House 1 & 2 (2000 – 2006), Partners (2014), and Bad Boys For Life (2020), among others. The actor is in a good place career-wise. Lawrence is currently single as he divorced his last wife Shamicka Gibbs in 2012. However, he is also father of three children, all born between 1996 and 2002.

Tisha Campbell (Gina Waters-Payne)

Starring as Gina Waters, Tisha Campbell portrayed the hilarious and endearing love interest of Martin on the show. Like Lawrence, the actress has continued acting, starring in multiple roles since 1997. Pastor Brown (2009), Lemonade Mouth (2011), and The J Team (2021) are some of the movies she has appeared in. Besides film, Campbell has also appeared on many TV shows, including Everybody Hates Chris, Dr. Ken, and Empire, among others. After 21 years of marriage, the actress filed for a divorce from her ex-husband Duane Martin in 2018. The two are now separated, but they share their two sons together.

Carl Anthony Payne II (Cole Brown)

Since he finished with Martin, Payne has continued to work in the entertainment industry. Besides starring in films and shows, he has also produced and directed music videos and short films. In addition, Payne has toured the country as a stand-up comic. After Martin, he starred in the movies The Messenger and Zulu Wedding, as well as the show 5th Award, among many others. Besides his works, the actor has kept a low profile, but he seems to be doing well for himself.

Thomas Mikal Ford (Thomas “Tommy” Strawn)

Ford portrayed one of Martin Payne’s best friends in the show and was present for all five seasons. Like most of his fellow main cast members, the actor had no trouble bagging roles after he finished with the show Martin. He starred in multiple roles in films and TV shows, including New York Undercover, The Parkers, and Hitched, among others. Unfortunately, Ford is no longer with us as he passed away in October 2016. He died from a ruptured abdominal aneurysm at the age of 52. He is survived by his two children whom he shared with his ex-wife Gina Sasso.

Tichina Arnold (Pamela “Pam” James)

Riding on the waves of attention the show brought her, Tichina Arnold bagged many roles after Martin. The sassy character she played is certainly one of its most unforgettable and a favorite of many fans. Since the show’s finale, Arnold has built up an impressive filmography, appearing in many films and series. Everybody Hates Chris, The Boondocks, and The Main Event are some of the stuff she’s starred in. For her stellar work on Everybody Hates Chris, the actress received many award nominations. She won a Teen Choice Award and an NAACP Image Award in 2006 and 2007 respectively. After a sex tape controversy in 2016, Tichina Arnold split from her husband.

Jon Gries (Shawn McDermott)

Shawn McDermott, Gries’ character on Martin only appeared in the first two seasons of the show. However, even though his stay on the show was short, he certainly made his mark on it. After moving on from Martin, he wasted no time securing other roles. The actor has grown his catalog extensively since, starring in many popular shows and movies. Gries appeared in all three installments of Taken, starred in Lost, and portrayed the character Greg in The White Lotus. Besides his acting career, Gries is also a writer and director. His personal life has mostly been kept under wraps, and it remains unknown if he has a partner or children.

Garrett Morris (Stan Winters)

Like Jon Gries, Garrett Morris only starred in the first two seasons of Martin as a member of the main cast. Subsequently, in the third season, he appeared only as a guest actor. He had to leave Martin after unfortunately suffering an injury. Regardless, also like Gries, Morris left his mark portraying Stan Winters on the show. The actor is now 86 years old, and he has kept his acting career going over the years. Never taking his foot off the gas, he has appeared in many shows and movies, including Ant-Man, This Is Us, and Self Made, among others.

112: Where Are They Now?

The iconic R&B group 112 went from the heart of Atlanta to the top of the R&B charts. After their debut in 1996, it didn’t take long for the group to gain acclaim and popularity. Since then, 112 has left an indelible mark on the music scene. Although their widespread popularity has since waned, while they were under the spotlight, they worked with the likes of The Notorious B.I.G. and Monica, among others.

Over the years, the group navigated through changes in lineup and the evolving landscape of R&B. However, they did so while continuing to captivate audiences with timeless hits like “Cupid,” “It’s Over Now,” and “Peaches & Cream.” It’s been almost three decades since their debut, and some fans have not heard about them in a while. Here’s what the members of 112, the flashy R&B group, have been up to since.

112: An Unforgettable R&B Group

112 was formed in 1991, and the group was originally named “Forte,” comprising five members. Daron Jones, Michael “Mike” Keith, Reginald Finley, Aldon Lagon, and Marvin “Slim” Scandrick were the original members in 1991. Following their audition for Sean “Diddy” Combs in 1993, Quinnes “Q” Parker joined the lineup, and they were signed to Bad Boy Records. However, Finley and Lagon were unfortunately dropped from the group. As a result, the group became a quartet, and adopted the name of the club where they auditioned for Combs, “112.”

Subsequently, they went on to have a notably successful career, making waves in the R&B scene. They even won a Grammy Award in 1997, and received another nomination for the 2002 ceremony. In February 2002 however,112 left Bad Boy Records, and the group signed with Def Jam. Under their Def Soul imprint, the group released Hot & Wet (2003), and Pleasure & Pain (2005). Afterwards, in 2007, 112 launched their label, One Twelve Music Group, but they went on hiatus soon after. Although they reunited and released another album, Q Mike Slim Daron, in 2018, Q and Daron soon left the group. While there are just two members left in 112 now, they are still functioning as a group. On September 4, 2020, they released a 9-track project titled Forever.

Marvin “Slim” Scandrick

With his impressive high tenor voice, Slim has been the lead singer of 112 since he joined. However, soon after their hiatus in 2007, Slim released his solo debut album Love’s Crazy (2008). The album’s lead single “So Fly” appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 49. It remains Slim’s only solo song to appear on the chart. In 2016, he followed his debut album up with a second project titled Re-Fueled, which unfortunately did not chart. As aforementioned, he reunited with the other members of 112 in 2018 and released an album with them. Now, he is one of the group’s two last remaining members.

Michael “Mike” Keith

Another founding member of 112, Mike has been present since the group was known as Forte back in 1991. Like Slim, Mike went solo following the group’s hiatus. Unlike Slim, however, Mike left because he believed a former member of the group had been stealing his money. Subsequently, in 2008, he released his solo debut album Michael Keith, but only as a digital download through iTunes and Amazon. After some time had passed, he returned and reconciled with the rest of the group in 2010. Alongside Slim, he is now the last remaining member of 112, as Q and Daron seem to have left the group for good.

Quinnes “Q” Parker

Before finally leaving 112 in 2018, Q had already ventured into acting, appearing in the 2015 film My First Miracle. Since then, he has starred in a handful of other movies, including Cheating in the Next Room (2021) and Christmas Ringer (2023). As he seems to be getting more into his acting bag, we may see more of him on-screen in the coming years. Surprisingly, in September 2023, following the death of singer Irish Grinstead, Q openly called out to Mike and Slim for a reunion. It remains to be seen if the two current members of 112 will pay him any heed.

Daron Jones

Daron Jones has the most extensive solo discography of all four 112 members. Since 2015, he has released several singles and projects. These include Christmas in Atlanta (2015), The Unofficial Diary Of Daron Jones, Vol. 2 (2017), and Human (2019), among others. Besides his music, the singer has kept a low profile over the years. Like Q, he left 112 seemingly for good in 2018, and has since focused on his solo career.

“Dawson’s Creek” Stars: Where Are They Now?

Dawson’s Creek, the iconic teen drama that premiered in 1998, won the attention and hearts of many. With a fresh coming-of-age storyline, relatable characters, and dramatic plot twists, the show was a major hit. Moreover, the series gave an authentic portrayal of the ups and downs of teenage life. These included: love triangles, peer pressure, and the enduring bonds that last till adulthood. More importantly, Dawson’s Creek catapulted its young casts into the spotlight, turning them into household names. The show ran for six seasons, ending in 2003, and since then, the cast have remained active.

James Van Der Beek (Dawson Leery)

After his role as the aspiring filmmaker Dawson Leery, James continued to grace both the big and small screens. He starred in films and shows, such as! Don’t Trust The B**** in Apartment 23, CSI: Cyber, Varsity Blues, and Texas Rangers. In 2019, he participated in the popular reality competition Dancing With The Stars, coming in fifth place. He also voiced Boris from the Vampirina from 2017 until 2021. The star now lives with his wife Kimberly and their six children.

Katie Holmes (Joey Potter)

Katie Holmes played the strong-willed and independent Joey Potter on Dawson’s Creek. She smoothly transitioned from teen idol, to a successful film star. She starred in blockbuster hits such as Batman Begins, The Gift, and Mad Money. Holmes has also delved into the world of directing and producing. In 2006, she married the renowned actor Tom Cruise, and the two share a child. However, she and Cruise got divorced in 2012. Soon after, Holmes began a longtime relationship with Jamie Foxx, which ended in 2019.

Joshua Jackson (Pacey Witter)

Michelle Williams played the troubled Jen Lindley on Dawson’s Creek. She has since evolved into one of Hollywood’s most respected actresses. Busy Philipps, who joined the cast as Audry Liddell in the later seasons, has remained a familiar face on television and in the entertainment industry. The PJs was an animated sitcom that first graced television screens in the late 90s. It was a groundbreaking show that tackled many social issues through humor and satire. Eddie Murphy, Larry Wilmore, and Steve Tompkins were the creators of the adult sitcom. The series follows the comedic misadventures of Thurgood Stubbs, the superintendent of the Hilton-Jacobs housing project. Thurgood navigates the challenges of managing the building alongside his wife Muriel.

The PJs featured a talented ensemble cast that brought the characters of the Hilton-Jacobs housing project to life. With such a star-studded series, most of the names on the project are still largely active. They’ve also gone on to achieve even more success in the industry. Eddie Murphy

Cassi Davis

Since The PJs, Cassi Davis has become widely recognized for her role as Ella Payne on the television series Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, which premiered in 2006. In the House was a popular sitcom in the 90s that warmed the hearts of many. Its five-season run was fairly successful and also featured a star-studded cast. Unleashing the comedic chops of LL Cool J to the world, the series enjoyed a pretty remarkable run. While a reboot is unlikely, reruns have kept many households entertained. However, it’s always common to wonder what the cast of the series is up to today, especially since some of them have drastically reduced on screen. Here’s what the cast of In The House are up to today.

LL Cool J

LL Cool J already had a prolific music career before starring as Marion Hill on In The House. Though he played a character with financial troubles, LL Cool J’s career hasn’t slowed down in decades. He’s widely considered one of the most iconic rappers of all time. Since the end of In The House, he has guest-starred on various game shows and even hosted a few. He has been married to Simone Johnson since 1995 and they have four children together. These days, he is best known for his long-running role as Special Agent Sam Hanna in the NCIS franchise, which he finally retired this year after 14 years.

Following the conclusion of In The House in 1999, LL Cool J kept the music rolling with his eighth album, G.O.A.T. This was his first and, to date, only album to top the Billboard 200 charts. By his 11th album, Todd Smith, his music penetrated younger listeners, particularly with the radio hit, “Control Myself,” featuring Jennifer Lopez. However, on the music front, he hasn’t released any new albums since 2013’s Authentic.

LL Cool J has rightly received his flowers over the years. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016. He also became the first rapper to receive the Kennedy Center Honors in 2017. Likewise, LL Cool J was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

Debbie Allen

Debbie Allen is a well-decorated actress, choreographer, and film producer, with five Emmys, two Tonys, and a Golden Globe Award to her name. She played Jackie Warren on In the House, the down-on-luck mother of two who moves into Marion’s house. She married former NBA player Norm Nixon in 1984 and they share four children. Career-wise, she has dipped her toes in multiple areas of the entertainment industry, from choreographing to producing, and even music. Allen has also continued her acting career, guest starring in various shows such as The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder and Raven’s Home. She currently maintains her long-running role as Dr. Catherine Avery Fox on Grey’s Anatomy.

Maia Campbell

Maia Campbell has led a relatively private life in recent years. This is due to her ongoing struggles with her mental health. In 2000, she lost custody of her daughter due to her refusal to take medication for her bipolar disorder. The following years were also not too kind to her, as she was publicly recorded displaying unstable behavior. Subsequently, she was institutionalized by her family. She hasn’t been active in the entertainment industry since 2017.

Jeffery Wood may have only been in the first few seasons of In the House, but his character, Austin Warren, was a beloved one. Alfonso Ribeiro

Alfonso Ribeiro joined the cast of In the House in its third season, playing Dr. Maxwell Stanton, a friend of Marion’s and his coworker at the sports clinic. Best known for his role as Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Ribeiro continued to work in entertainment after both shows. Ludacris Reveals He Still Has His Car From The ’90s

During a recent interview as part of Men’s Health‘s series “The Rewind,” Ludacris revealed something he’s held on to since early on in his career. Apparently, the artist still owns the 1993 Acura Legend he purchased before he made it big. According to him, the vehicle serves as a reminder of what he’s gone through to get to where he is. He also says the car keeps his head in the right place, allowing him to remain down-to-earth.

Though he may have acquired a few more whips since back in the day, he still says that his old Acura is his top pick. When the interviewer showed him a photo of himself sitting on the hood of the car, he shared the story. “I still got my 1993 Acura Legend to this day. It has over 253,000 miles on it,” Ludacris explained. “It’s still my favorite car. You know why? Because it keeps me grounded. It’s my anchor.”

He went on, noting how it helps remind him of where he came from. “I had this car before I got a major record deal and started making millions of dollars. And I still have that car now because it reminds me of the hustle and the struggle of everything that I went through and it brings me back to where I first started.”

It’s no doubt that Ludacris has managed to make some pretty major contributions since his debut. The artist was just honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this summer. Various celebrity guests showed up to support him, like LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Vin Diesel, Tyrese, and more. The performer’s oldest daughter, Karma, even surprised him by giving a moving speech at the ceremony. “I was fighting tears. Seriously, I was glad that I had my sunglasses on today,” he said after the touching moment. “That blew me away. Usually, it’s not easy for people to keep certain things from me, but that was 100 percent a surprise.”
