50 Cent Throwback Photo Reminds Us How Curtis Jackson Made It Out The Mud

Few people go through what Curtis Jackson has endured and live to tell the story, but today (November 6), the Power producer is starting his week by reflecting on just how far he’s come since his days as a youth in New York. Earlier this month, 50 Cent celebrated one of his first major hits, “In Da Club” achieving Diamond certification from the RIAA. Now, he’s showing off a throwback photo along with a poignant caption sharing the father of two’s thoughts on defying all expectations by making it out the mud.

“This is what it looks like when you have nothing and you fall in love with something,” Fif wrote in the caption of today’s upload. In the image, a young Jackson calmly looks down at production equipment in front of him, perhaps in a makeshift studio or someone’s basement. It’s unclear if he knew just how far his star would rise at this point, but the East Coast superstar hasn’t stopped striving for greatness since his run in the industry first began.

He also wrote, “Music is magic. Swizz Beatz and Michael Blackson are among those praising Fif in the comments, with the latter hinting at showing up to his friend’s upcoming London concert.

Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” Turns 21: Stream

Most of the rappers whose names come up in Mount Rushmore debates are Black. As far as white hip-hop stars go, Eminem is almost always at the top of everyone’s list. For decades, the Detroit-born creative has kept us entertained with his cleverly penned verses, which have only evolved in poignancy as he’s gotten older. When he first came up, Slim Shady was known for splitting crass bars about women and drugs, but on “Lose Yourself,” he tapped into his more vulnerable side while converging his own personal life with the one he played out on-screen in 8 Mile as Jimmy.

“His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti,” the multi-talent’s famous first verse begins. Of course, those lines have gone on to become some of his most famous, with Eminem even opening up a restaurant in his hometown to pay homage to them.

As Genius notes, engineer Steven King previously asserted that Slim “laid down all three verses” of “Lose Yourself” “in just one take.” Though impressive, the “Mockingbird” hitmaker has hinted that there’s no truth to the rumours in the past. During his 2008 autobiography specifically, the recording artist recalled the time he spent writing his bars between taking care of his then-adolescent children and filming scenes for 8 Mile.

Nicki Minaj Wishes Drake Happy Birthday By Posting Throwback Photos

Most, if not all hip-hop heads know how close Nicki Minaj and Drake are. It really all began back when both of them were brought on to the Young Money/Cash Money record labels. From countless classic songs together like “Moment 4 Life,” “Only,” and “Truffle Butter,” the list goes on forever and ever. While it does not seem that she was at the recent Drake birthday bash, Nicki sent her love and well wishes from afar. Thejasminebrand’s Instagram page caught some of Nicki’s Instagram story posts and shared them with their followers. Let’s just say they give all of the nostalgic feels.

You can check out all of the posts below. Nicki posted three separate photos of her and Drake a few minutes apart. The first one looks to be from the late 2000s or early 2010s. Nicki is rocking her blonde wig and bright pink lipstick, while Drizzy is wearing a tan blazer with a cheetah print button-down shirt. The following post seems to be from the mid-2010s, maybe right around the time Nicki put out The Pinkprint. She throws in a handful of different color heart emojis and captions it, “Happy Birthday @champagnepapi.” Finally, the last one shows how much love Nicki has for her close friend. “Happy Birthday Drake Love You.” She throws in the cake, present and confetti emojis as well.

Recently, The Game took to social media to throw it way back, unveiling an old photo of him posing alongside Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. “Had the hottest chicks in the game rocking my chains,” he captioned the photo, which shows each of them wearing bling featuring his rap moniker. The trio were celebrating the 2006 launch of Hilton’s self-titled debut at Privilege nightclub in West Hollywood.

According to The Game, he went on to date Kim for a short time in 2007 prior to her relationship with Reggie Bush, and he was “damn near in love.” Allegedly, the two of them broke things off after he spotted Bush in her condo building. “We start dating a little bit, but I would always hook my Xbox up,” he told U.S. Weekly. “She had that good internet.”

This isn’t the first time The Game showed off just how successful he was at his peak, however. At the end of last month, the “Where I’m From” performer went on a rant during a club appearance, reminding everyone of his influence on the rap game. “I took Nipsey’s CD, put it in my pocket,” he began. “I took Kendrick on tour when Kendrick was Jay Rock’s hype man.” The Game continued, “I put the west on my back. So when n****s say ‘I’m him,’ no n***a, I’m him.”

On top of music, The Game also centers his life around family nowadays, showing love to his kids on social media. Safaree Blasts Nicki Minaj Throwbacks In His Car

Recently, Safaree took to Twitter to share what an amazing day he’s having. According to the rapper and reality star, he was on a drive enjoying the beautiful weather when he decided to play some throwbacks. He says he treated himself to none other than ex Nicki Minaj’s 2012 hit, “Starships.”

“Yoooo I’m driving blasting starships right now and it’s a beautiful SUNNY day wowwww,” he wrote. “IM SO HAPPPY GOD IS THE GREATEST! Let me just love music. I look like a damn fool right now [laughing emojis].” While fans can’t blame him for indulging in a classic, some find it strange that he admitted to blasting his ex’s music. After all, the two of them have had their fair share of differences since their 2014 split.

Safaree Still Listens To His Ex’s Music

With that being said, this isn’t the first time Safaree’s made it clear that he has nothing but love for his former partner. Last year, he celebrated the hitmaker’s 40th birthday by posting an old photo of the two of them, telling followers that he has no regrets. “I wouldn’t change anything about my past!!,” he wrote. “I’m like Kanye I love everybody.” While Safaree still hold memories of his past love close, Nicki has since moved on with husband Kenneth Petty. The couple welcomed their first child together in 2020.

Safaree also went on to marry Love & Hip Hop co-star Erica Mena in 2019, but they later divorced. In May, the rapper opened up about a breakup he seemingly regrets, and many speculated that he was referring to his run with Nicki. “I see the amount of things that I’ve been through just when it comes to breaking up. The Legend EVE #DZ,” he captioned his Instagram post. However, it seems like a lot of fans quickly assumed that the DJ was just thirsting for her rather than reminiscing on good times. As such, they quickly joked with him that Eve is happily married to Maximillion Cooper, and has been since 2014.

What’s curious is that this is far from the first story to emerge from Stevie J’s past romances following his recent divorce. For example, Joseline Hernandez (another one of the 49-year-old’s exes) recently dished about an alleged threesome she had with him and Mimi. While the Joseline’s Cabaret was quite blunt and quick when asked about it, her assessment throws some lewd shade at one of the two other members. “I’ve had better head,” she stated simply, and perhaps we’ll never know who she was referring to.
