Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” Turns 21: Stream

Most of the rappers whose names come up in Mount Rushmore debates are Black. As far as white hip-hop stars go, Eminem is almost always at the top of everyone’s list. For decades, the Detroit-born creative has kept us entertained with his cleverly penned verses, which have only evolved in poignancy as he’s gotten older. When he first came up, Slim Shady was known for splitting crass bars about women and drugs, but on “Lose Yourself,” he tapped into his more vulnerable side while converging his own personal life with the one he played out on-screen in 8 Mile as Jimmy.

“His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti,” the multi-talent’s famous first verse begins. Of course, those lines have gone on to become some of his most famous, with Eminem even opening up a restaurant in his hometown to pay homage to them.

“Lose Yourself” Was Just the Beginning for Eminem

As Genius notes, engineer Steven King previously asserted that Slim “laid down all three verses” of “Lose Yourself” “in just one take.” Though impressive, the “Mockingbird” hitmaker has hinted that there’s no truth to the rumours in the past. During his 2008 autobiography specifically, the recording artist recalled the time he spent writing his bars between taking care of his then-adolescent children and filming scenes for 8 Mile.

Quotable Lyrics:

He’s dope, he knows that, but he’s broke, he’s so stagnant
He knows when he goes back to this mobile home, that’s when it’s
Back to the lab again, yo, this old rhapsody
Better go capture this moment and hope it don’t pass him

Eminem Is Dropping “Mom’s Spaghetti” Sauce Line, Fans Demand Album

Eminem has made a noteworthy announcement today! He’s dropping a spaghetti sauce line. The rap legend, affectionately known as Slim Shady, took to his Instagram account on Tuesday, October 24th, to introduce a brand new product: Mom’s Spaghetti sauce. While this unveiling sparked considerable anticipation, there was an undercurrent of disappointment among fans, as they had been fervently hoping for the release of new music. The reactions from his devoted fan base support the new idea, but they’re not missing their chance to ask for new music as well. “Marshall, the sauce we really want is the album,” one person said. “Not the drop I wanted, but I’ll take 10,” another said. Someone else commented, “For a moment I thought it was the name of the album.”

Eminem’s announcement cleverly alludes to his iconic 2002 hit “Lose Yourself.” The song features the memorable line, “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, there’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.” This lyrical reference has become legendary in its own right and has solidified “Mom’s Spaghetti” as an iconic symbol associated with Eminem’s music. Therefore, fans were understandably excited about the prospect of a unique collaboration that pays homage to this celebrated track.

Eminem Announces “Mom’s Spaghetti”

However, instead of a much-anticipated album drop, what fans discovered was a culinary venture, Mom’s Spaghetti sauce. Eminem also announced it would be available for purchase in the upcoming week. This unexpected pivot from music to spaghetti sauce left many fans yearning for new tunes. Moreover, the unveiling of Mom’s Spaghetti sauce was an unexpected twist in the world of music news for today.

Furthermore, Eminem’s lyrics have the power of forseeing the future. Just like he used the spaghetti sauce line from “Lose Yourself,” to create an actual brand of spaghetti sauce, fans noticed how he predicted Drake’s career too. As HNHH previously reported, fans couldn’t help but point out how Eminem’s song “Zeuz” predicted Drake’s fans turning on him. The lyrics say, “And Drake, they’re gonna turn on you (You) one day too (Too), And the more you win, the sooner (Sooner) they do, They’ll be calling you a trash bin, Sayin’ that your new one isn’t better than your last.” However, in the dynamic world of entertainment, Eminem’s spaghetti sauce announcement serves as a reminder that artistic expression knows no bounds. Will you be purchasing Mom’s Spaghetti?

Vivek Ramaswamy’s “Lose Yourself” State Fair Performance Results In Cease & Desist From Eminem

Presidential candidates have been known to pull off all kinds of antics in order to heighten their chances of winning the election – just look at Donald Trump. Amid the former POTUS’ seemingly endless legal woes, he continues to aim for one final term in the White House. As always, he has some competition, including Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The politician went viral earlier in August after performing Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” at the Iowa State Fair. Needless to say, the 8 Mile actor definitely wasn’t feeling it.

According to TMZ, Em got in touch with BMI with a request to prevent Ramaswamy from using his music in the future. In response, they sent a cease and desist letter to the potential future president making him aware of the restaurant owner’s objection to the use of his discography. “BMI will consider any performance of the Eminem Works by the Vivek 2024 campaign from this date forward to be a material breach of the Agreement for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies with respect thereto,” the letter, obtained by DailyMail declares.

Eminem Wasn’t Feeling Republican Presidential Candidate’s Cover of His Hit Song

The Eminem Show artist may not want Ramaswamy using his bars to go viral again, but still, the 38-year-old is performing considerably well amongst his contemporaries. At the most recent GOP presidential debate, he won plenty of viewers over with his confidence and stance. He’s certainly faring better in the media than Trump, who’s continued to be the butt of many jokes thanks to his stone-faced mugshot.

Elsewhere in the world of hip-hop, Benzino admitted earlier this month that he played a role in Eminem’s failure to achieve a prestigious five-mic review from The Source magazine. The former media executive said that his enemy’s attitude put a rift between them. It still hasn’t fully been resolved all these years later. Republican Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy Raps Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” At Iowa State Fair

Vivek Ramaswamy, who is currently third in the polling for the upcoming Republican presidential primaries, rapped the lyrics to Eminem’s iconic song, “Lose Yourself,” at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday. Multiple clips of the performance have been circulating on social media throughout the day.

In one of the clips, he raps: “It don’t matter, he’s dope/He knows that, but he’s broke/He’s so sad that he knows/When he goes back to this mobile home, that’s when it’s/Back to the lab again, yo, this whole rap shift/He better go capture this moment and hope it don’t pass him.”

Ramaswamy labeled it his favorite song to walk out to while speaking with Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds during her “fair-side chat” event. “It’s like, young and scrappy,” he explained. Reynolds responded: “I am really starting to understand my age. I’m going to have to go look that up.” During the rest of his time on stage, Ramaswamy labeled the “climate change agenda” a “hoax” while also promising to sign a “declaration of independence from Communist China.” Ramaswamy currently polls at 6.1%, significantly behind Ron DeSantis at 15.1% and Trump, at 52.1%. The figure still leaves him in third place, however. Check out the clip of him performing “Lose Yourself” below.

Vivek Ramaswamy Performs “Lose Yourself”

Eminem likely wouldn’t be thrilled to see Ramaswamy performing his hit song, as he’s called out fellow Republican Donald Trump on numerous occasions over the years. At one point, he previously argued that the former President’s supporters are “brainwashed.” He also dissed him during a BET Hip Hop Awards cypher in 2017.
