Drake Shares Throwback Pictures On Instagram, Calls Playboi Carti’s Filter Racist

Drake is no stranger to reminiscing. In fact, the rapper is often fond of looking back on his early days before becoming one of the biggest musical artists in the entire world. That was the case on a recent Instagram post where he shared a photo dump of old photos from earlier in his career. “How?????” he captioned the post, seemingly unable to believe just how far he’s come. One of the pictures included in the post is of a younger Drizzy posing with Common. Check out all the old photos he shared below.

Vintage Drake Photos

In a much weirder online moment, Drake used Playboi Carti’s Instagram filter and it didn’t go as planned. In the clip he’s able to use it on himself no problem but when he tries to point the camera at anyone with a darker complexion, it won’t recognize them. “Unusually bias Carti filter that detects light skins wtf kind of t3(hnol0gy is this?!??” the caption of the post reads. In the comments, fans try to point out that it has more to do with the darkness of the room he’s in than the filter itself. It’s hard to tell exactly how serious Drake is in his accusation though. Check out the full video of him using Carti’s filter below.

Drake Trying Out Playboi Carti’s Filter

Drizzy is currently on the second leg of his “Its All A Blur” tour with J. Cole and Lil Durk. He just released a new album For All The Dogs and a new EP Scary Hours 3 last year. Following the releases he claimed that he would be taking a hiatus from releasing new music, but doesn’t seem to be sticking to that. He’s been teasing new material coming soon while on tour.

What do you think of the throwback pics Drake shared giving a peek at his past before becoming a musical superstar? What about his accusations after trying out Playboi Carti’s Instagram filter, calling it racist? Let us know in the comment section below.

Fans Uncover Footage Of Nicki Minaj Filming “No Frauds” Music Video

The Barbz are gagging after behind-the-scenes footage of Nicki Minaj filming the music video for “No Frauds”. Minaj is seen in her iconic outfit from the video as she lip-syncs under an arch. It was one of the first times that Minaj referred to herself as the “Queen of Rap”, taking direct shots at Remy Ma’s long-standing claim on that title. Minaj later took further shots at Ma, giving her 72 hours to release a response and offering her $500,000 if she could book a show or interview without using Minaj’s name to do so.

The Young Money track, also featuring Drake and Lil Wayne, was released in 2017 and peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, the song was largely panned by critics. Furthermore, the music video was criticized due to its proximity to a terror attack in London. Additionally, “No Frauds” was seen as a generally weak response to Ma’s “Shether” despite the level of talent on the track. Despite this, some critics noted that Minaj won the beef on “star power alone”.

Nicki Minaj Hypes Wireless Fest Set

This year’s show will be a billion times more special, creative, beautiful, cohesive, ugh! I’m so excited. I’d like to tell you guys thank you in advance. Last year was so meaningful but won’t compare. Just wait & see,” Minaj wrote on Instagram. Minaj has been a regular feature at Wireless for over a decade.

Wireless Fest takes place in London’s historic Finsbury Park this July. Other headliners include Future, 21 Savage, and Doja Cat. Minaj is currently set to play the O2 Arena in London on May 28. Are you attending the Pink Friday 2 Tour? Are you excited? Let us know in the comments.

SZA Showcased Her Raw Talent On The “CTRL” Opener “Supermodel”

Prior to the release of her album CTRL, SZA was someone who was certainly making interesting R&B music. The early stages of her career were a grind, but she eventually broke through. Overall, CTRL is seen as a modern-day classic, and for good reason. At 14 tracks, it is a concise record packed with hits and personal stories that will strike a chord. One could look at songs like “Drew Barrymore” and “20 Something” to understand exactly what we mean. However, it is “Supermodel” that has ultimately stuck with us all this time.

“Supermodel” is the opening track on the record, and it is a heart-shattering introduction that leaves the listener is awe of a few things. Firstly, those dissonant guitar chords are gorgeous and completely out of left field. Secondly, SZA’s voice is heavenly and unique, creating a combination that captures your attention. Lastly, the lyrics are personal and at times salacious. It feels like SZA is pulling you into the pages of her diary. We get simultaneous feelings of shame and shameless that contrast perfectly.

SZA Has Blossomed Into A Superstar

These inner conflicts show up all throughout SZA’s music. She has no issues being vulnerable with the listener, even if it leads to people judging her taste or even her actions. These are songwriting risks that SZA takes with her to S.O.S., an album that was robbed of an Album of the Year award at the Grammys. While “Supermodel” may not be the biggest hit on this project, it is certainly the most powerful.

Let us know your thoughts on CTRL, in the comments section below. What is your favorite song from this album? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Fans Share Throwback Photo Of Drake & Travis Scott Ahead Of Grammys 2024 Showdown

Fans have circulated an image of Drake comforting Travis Scott at the 2019 Grammys ahead of the expected showdown between the two men at tonight’s awards. Scott saw both “Sicko Mode” and Astroworld lost out in the song and album categories respectively. Drake, whose “God’s Plan” beat “Sicko Mode” was the picture of humility as he comforted his fellow nominee. Scott has previously spoken about how hard those losses hit him.

However, history is a cyclical beast and five years later, the pair are set to face off again. Her Loss from Drake & 21 Savage goes up against Scott’s UTOPIA for “Best Rap Album”. While it’s not a direct head-to-head clash as it would be with For All The Dogs, it’s still another Grammys pitting Scott against Drizzy. Who do you think is going to take home the award? Let us know in the comments.

Travis Scott Stops Concert To Lecture Stage-Rushing Fan

Meanwhile, Scott showed that he had learned from the tragedies of his past as he stopped a show to lecture a fan who tried to rush the stage at his recent show. “Ragin’ ain’t runnin’. If you runnin’ down here, that ain’t ragin’. Ragin’ is ragin’. Get back out there before one of these n-ggas knock your lights out. You get what I’m sayin’?” Scott told the fan before sending him back into the crowd. The rest of the audience proceeded to show the admonished fan what “ragin” actually looked like.

Of course, Scott is particularly sensitive to the dangers of a fan rush following the infamous AstroWorld tragedy. It’s not the first time that Scott has admonished a fan on the current Circus Maximus tour. While in Austin, Scott chose to rage alongside a fan who rushed the stage. However, he did give the fan a talking to before deciding to indulge them. Despite these hiccups, the Circus Maximus tour has proven to be a massive success for Scott. It recently included a surprise appearance from Kanye West and may result in a new album being released.

Shannon Sharpe Flexes Shredded Physique From The 80s, Says He’s “Always Been Poppin”

Shannon Sharpe shared a throwback picture of his 20-year-old self to prove that his recent muscular physique is nothing new. “When they say UNC just started poppin. That’s a lie. UNC been poppin since the 80s. Here’s proof of young 20 yr old Nephew. 😜😜🤪🤪 #ТВT #SSUQRANGECRUSH #BEENHIM #IMSTILLHIM,” Sharpe wrote on social media.

“20-year-old nephew” dates the photo to 1988, Sharpe’s penultimate season at Savannah State. In 1990, he would become an unheralded seventh-round pick by the Broncos. However, the rest is history. Sharpe would become one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history and one of the greatest Broncos of all time. He ended his career with three Super Bowl rings and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2011.

Shannon Sharpe Delivers Subpar Electric Slide

While Sharpe might be in great shape, it appears that dance is not his forte. In July 2023, a video shared by The Neighborhood Talk appeared to show Sharpe at a cookout. In particular, the video showed Sharpe joining in a group dancing the electric slide. The only problem is that Sharpe puts little effort into the moves and just sort of vibes around at the back of the group. While it is true that Sharpe got a hip replacement, that was in early 2022. The resulting comments meant that ribs weren’t the only thing being grilled.

“He aint never been around so many black women since he was 18,” one person noted. “Lmao he dance like a middle aged white man,” another astutely pointed out. “He used to them football drills this a different type of steppin😂,” argued a third. However, some argued that Sharpe wasn’t the only person disrepecting the dance. “Oh no. Is it a simulation? Is it AI? Because I ain’t never seen so many off beat black folks doing a slide in my life 😩.” Furthermore, some argued that Sharpe’s tendency to date white women couldn’t even be used an excuse. “Can’t even blame the white women because them folks love a good line dance too.”

Drake Gave Us A Worldwide Bop And Lyrical Banger On “Scary Hours” EP

Drake is one of the few artists who can have a song blow up without much notice or rollout. He was able to pull that off six years ago (January 19) with his two-pack EP, Scary Hours. It began the running theme within Drizzy’s catalog that has now produced a follow-up and is the title for the For All The Dogs extended version. As we mentioned, the first Scary Hours possessed one of Drake’s biggest songs ever, that is “God’s Plan.”

It took over the internet and it was his first single since “Signs” about a year prior in 2017. Joining the global phenomenon was the more lyrically-heavy “Diplomatic Immunity.” While “God’s Plan” is more of a triumphant and thankful cut about how far he’s come amidst adversity, the latter flexes a more braggadocious Drake. “‘Cause n****s started talkin’ to me like I’m slowin’ down / Opinions over statistics, of course / Gassed off journalistic / Come at me and all you’ll get is the ballistic report.”

Sexyy Red Plans To Be A “Whole New Woman” After The Birth Of Her Child

Meanwhile, Red announced that she plans to be a “whole new woman” after she “drops” her baby this year. “Super sexyy. Super pretty. Get money,” Red explained in a series of videos posted on Instagram. Red initially announced her pregnancy in October, but it’s unclear how far along she is in her pregnancy. As a result, it’s unknown when her due date is.

Of course, being pregnant hasn’t stopped Red from going wild. Red was twerking like the best of them as she celebrated the release of the deluxe version of Hottest Hood Princess. Jazmine Sullivan & Anderson Paak Crafted Magic On “Price Tags” Three Years Ago: Stream

Three years ago today (January 8), Jazmine Sullivan released her acclaimed and enduringly compelling album Heaux Tales. Moreover, it has a lot of smooth, emotive, soulful, and musically proficient highlights, plus some notable collaborations with the likes of H.E.R. and Ari Lennox. However, perhaps none rank greater than her link-up with the one and only Anderson .Paak on “Price Tags,” which is one of the more thematically consistent cuts on the record. On it, the 36-year-old talks about wealth, material success, sexual empowerment, and relationship dynamics. It’s a pretty versatile song when looking at these themes, but most importantly, it’s an infectiously groovy jam with a lot of lush instrumentation and catchy melodies.

Furthermore, Jairus “J-Mo” Mozee put together a pretty impressive production from behind the board, highlighting both featured artists’ talents. The crisp and simple drum beat is consistently nasty, and offers some funky and stark contrast from the traditionally lavish backing elements. These include an ear-worm, high-pitch key sample, vocal harmonies, light guitar strums, and cavernous bass. Jazmine Sullivan shines with a dynamic performance, and the “Stand Up” singer shows off her range from soaring cries to sultry temptations. On his end, Anderson .Paak proves himself as one of the most charismatic vocalists working today with a sassy and impassioned verse.

Meanwhile, this follows a successful but sometimes turbulent 2023 for the Philly native, who had her set canceled at the Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival due to a stampede. Hopefully 2024 brings Jazmine Sullivan more luck, and finally brings the return of NxWorries that Anderson .Paak’s been teasing for so long. As we look forward to what these stars will do this year, we have this throwback to remind us of their talent and skill. If you’ve never heard “Price Tags” before, find it and the rest of Heaux Tales on your preferred streaming service and peep some notable lines down below.
