Kendrick Lamar & Jay Rock Made An Instant Classic With “Money Trees”

Kendrick Lamar has made some classics over the years. Overall, his album good kid, m.A.A.d city has some of the best modern hip-hop songs ever made. Rick Ross & Trina Look Almost Unrecognizable In Resurfaced 2002 Photo

It’s been a couple of years since Rick Ross and Trina sparked dating rumors following their many collabs together, but their history goes back much further than many fans might assume. Moreover, a photo recently surfaced of both rappers together all the way back in 2002, and they look downright unrecognizable from their present-day iterations (which we say in the most neutral way possible). We wonder whether the two are still tight and working on music together or if things are more casual these days. Also, we can’t help but laugh at the idea that Rozay and Katrina will have to think about whether to bring back the huge gold neck pieces or Celtics gear (which makes sense for the current NBA Finals run).

Jokes aside, we know that they most recently went on a massive tour with Gucci Mane and Jeezy announced back in 2021. The trek also tapped Boosie Badazz, 2 Chainz, Lil Kim, Fabolous, and DJ Drama, and it was a pretty star-studded and hectic affair. While this 2002 snapshot definitely surprised fans, it’s interesting to think about whether this reaction and resurfacing will inspire them to collaborate or link up again. Sometimes you find excuses for reunions in the most unlikely of places, which is hip-hop Twitter in this case.

Rick Ross & Trina Back In 2002

Elsewhere, Trina recently spoke about feeling like she should come up more often in top five femcee conversations due to her legacy. “I feel like I know what I’ve done and I feel like even your top 5 has been at some point influenced by me,” she expressed during a recent interview with Carlos King. “I know, or probably even worked with or loved – even idolized. It’s probably somebody I really support and love in the industry.”

Meanwhile, Rick Ross is not as concerned with the same recognition that Trina is, but rather wants to expand his empire. For example, he recently announced a huge “Luxury & Lifestyle” auction for charity that will probably also hold a lot of flexing and lavish happenings. Maybe these two will cross paths again, or they’ll just laugh at how things were back in 2002. Would you feel the same about a throwback pic of you from the early aughts… or am I speaking to a zoomer?

Ray J’s 19-Year-Old Hit “One Wish” Could Be Viewed As A Potential Metaphor For His Career

Ray J has had one of the more interesting careers in music. The McComb, Mississippi multi-talent has played the role of R&B songwriter, television star, entrepreneur, among other things. However, it seems like no matter what, the thing that people will remember him for is the infamous sex tape. Him and an ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian were constantly in the headlines in some fashion because of it, and it still comes up today. In fact, an interview with Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay Shay, just dropped with him and he still had a hard time talking about it.

However, the speed bumps did not stop with Kim. Ray J also had a tumultuous relationship with Love & Hip-Hop co-star Princess Love. They announced divorce after divorce, and it just seemed that they were never on the same page. Now, the troubled music mogul is tied to Sukihana, who is a controversial figure in her own right. Sometimes, it feels like Ray J could use “One Wish” from a genie or something to remove all of the headaches from his life.

In retrospect, his 2005 smash hit could be viewed as a metaphor for wanting the trajectory of his career to be different than it turned out to be. Two lines that feel all too real now are, “I swear, if I lose a second chance with you / I wouldn’t know what to do“. Things can always improve, and Ray J may be getting a second chance now to rewrite his legacy going forward.

What are your thoughts on “One Wish” by Ray J? Is this the best song of his career, why or why not? Is Raydiation the strongest record in his discography? Sexyy Red Confirms Her Appearance In A Throwback Fight Video

Earlier this week a video started making the rounds online. There’s a pretty popular subset of the internet that absolutely eats up videos of people fighting. Recently a clip went viral both in those circles and among rap communities that claimed to be Sexyy Red getting in a heated conflict. The twist was that it took place when she was in high school, so it was difficult to verify. But Red herself actually chimed in confirming the authenticity of the video in a new response tweet.

“Been on Det!!!!” she said in a quote tweet to the initial viral post. While the original tweet itself tallied more than 35k likes, Red’s response racked up more than 100k likes in just a few days. In the comments fans react to how proud she is of the video of her fighting in high school. “Hoodie up so no hair pulling is some CLEAN work btw” one reply praises. “BOW BOW BOW” another fan hilariously posted referencing one of her hit songs. Check out the video of her fight and the tweet she made confirming that its real below.

Both artists had major breakthrough years in 2023, but it was hard to imagine them ever crossing paths until they did. Over the weekend, video made the rounds online of Red and Lana Del Rey showing off their twerking skills together. Sexyy Red Pre-Fame Photo Leaves Fans Stunned By Her Looks

It wasn’t that long ago that Sexyy Red was largely unknown to most rap fans. Her breakthrough took place less than a year ago when her Nicki Minaj-featuring “Pound Town 2” started to build up momentum. That led to “Skee Yee” becoming a massive TikTok summer hit which led Sexyy to a couple of high-profile collaborations. Most notably she scored her biggest hit to date alongside Drake and SZA with “Rich Baby Daddy.” When she dropped her new solo single “Get It Sexyy” earlier this year it scored her highest chart debut to date.

For fans blindsided by how quickly she achieved fame, it doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. But recently a reminder of just how far she’s come made the rounds online. A picture of Red before her fame and without her now distinctive look has gone viral. The picture sees her without her signature tats or red hair and fans are admittedly quite impressed. “I been told n*ggas sexy actually fine” one of the top comments on the post reads. “She looked better wtf” another reply suggests. Check out the pictures and stunned fan reactions to them below.

Sexyy Red Pre-Fame Photos Emerge

Sexyy Red recently found herself roped into the biggest beef in rap music. She was mentioned on “euphoria” Kendrick Lamar’s recent response track to Drake. In the song, Kendrick takes shots at the two rapper’s association as an attempt to joke about Drake’s sexuality. A few weeks ago Tay Keith spoke on the surprising backlash he received even from those around him for working with Red. He was one of the earliest adopters of the unique MC and has continued to work with her throughout her recent rapid rise to fame.

What do you think of the newly unearthed photo of Sexyy Red before she achieved fame? Do you agree with the fans in the comments that claim she looked even better before finding her now signature look? Let us know in the comment section below.

YNW Melly Turns 25: Remembering How Special The “Suicidal Remix” With Juice WRLD Was

YNW Melly remains in a revolving door with the court system over the murder charges he is facing for allegedly k*lling his crewmates Sakchaser and Juvy. A lot of rappers have been showing support for the Gifford, Florida native such as Boosie Badazz and Fredo Bang. But like the Louisiana rapper once said about his case, “When they want you, they want you.” The latest development surrounding this never-ending saga is that prosecutors are trying to incorporate a documentary around the rapper’s rise to fame into the evidence pile. Unfortunately, to a lesser extent, YNW Melly will be celebrating another birthday in handcuffs.

Even though his image may not be at its best right now, we did want to celebrate the rapper and singer’s 25th birthday with a throwback post. One of his favorites of ours has to be the “Suicidal Remix” with Juice WRLD. The four-year-old track sees Melly at his best, which is him being in his melodic bag. This is just the second collaboration we have ever heard between him and the late great emo MC.

If you did not know, this song was actually teased on the same day that the hip-hop community lost one of its great talents. For us, this gives the song so much more weight and according to Genius, it was just the third posthumous collab for Juice. With the content of the song being about toxic relationships, getting him on a remix was a great idea on Melly’s part. If you want to help wish him a happy birthday, revisit the classic emo rap ballad above.

What are your thoughts on “Suicidal Remix” by YNW Melly and Juice WRLD? Is this the better version of this love cut, why or why not? Where does this rank amongst the rest of Melly’s hit songs? What do you think his fate will be in prison? Do you think him and Juice needed to work together more often? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Travis Scott, Justin Bieber, And Young Thug Delivered An All-Timer With “Maria I’m Drunk”

Travis Scott has delivered some phenomenal projects over the years. Overall, his latest Utopia was a solid effort, while Astroworld is the one that made Scott a superstar. However, his true magnum opus is 2015’s Rodeo. This is a project that contains the signature Travis Scott sound. Furthermore, it was jam-packed with a ton of bangers as well as moody cuts that proved to be a staple of nights out in the middle of the decade. Although not everyone is convinced of this album’s greatness, it has a case for being a top 10 album of the 2010s.

Today, Travis Scott is turning 33 years old, which makes it a perfect time to go back to his catalog and think about some of his best work. In fact, today, we are going back to the Rodeo era with a collaboration between Scott, Justin Bieber, and Young Thug. Of course, we are talking about the incredible song “Maria I’m Drunk.” This is a song that Scott fans remember fondly, and it is one of those cuts that has stood the test of time.

Travis Scott x Bieber x Thugger

The song begins with some moody vocals from Scott, over drugged-out and warped production that fits the aesthetic of the album perfectly. Meanwhile, Bieber and Thug deliver amazing vocal performances that stand out as some of the best on the record. This was quintessential Travis Scott during this era of his career. Fans will likely forever look back fondly on this era, and we hope that Scott some day revisits these sounds.

Let us know what you think of this track, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is one of the best songs that Travis Scott has ever come out with? “Views” By Drake Turns 8: “Still Here” Will Always Be The Legend’s Mantra

One thing about Drake is that he is always going to remain standing no matter what. Over the last month or so, that rings true, especially after Kendrick Lamar decided to choose violence on “Like That.” A lot of people feel that he is currently on top right now against everyone who checked him after his “Push Ups” response. Some have even gone as far as to say that Lamar will not be able to top him. Even if you are not the biggest fan of his, you have to admit that he always finds a way to maintain his stature in hip-hop. In fact, Drake even feels the same way on “Still Here.”

Based on what I got, it’s hard to think that He don’t hear me / Hitting like that 30 on my jersey, man, I’m gifted,” Drake raps on the now eight-year-old track. Yes, Views, the fourth studio album from The Boy, has now hit that mark today. It remains at the top in terms of first week sales numbers, raking in an absurd 852,000 copies. Additionally, it still sits firmly at 80th on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, five spots up from last week. If you do the math, it has now been somewhere on the list for 414 weeks.

Furthermore, it is one of eight Drake projects to still be on somewhere on the chart. He might really be remembered as the Iron Man of hip-hop for the reasons we mentioned, but also for how his albums seem to always stand the test of time. His ability to craft easily accessible rap and pop crossovers are not skills that everyone has. He truly is the Michael Jackson of the genre.

What are your thoughts on “Still Here” by Drake? Is this the best song from Views, why or why not? Where do you rank this album amongst the rest of his discography and why? What songs do you revisit the most? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Sexyy Red Reacts To Wild Throwback Video, Reveals The Secret To Her Success

Sexyy Red’s skyrocket to stardom has been impressive, to say the least. After “Pound Town” blew up, she went on to release her mixtape Hood Hottest Princess, which featured a remix of the viral hit featuring none other than Nicki Minaj. She’s since taken part in countless high-profile collabs with the likes of Drake, SZA, Latto, and more. She even teamed up with Nicki once again for the Queen of Rap’s track “FTCU (Remix)” alongside Travis Scott and Chris Brown, which came out just last night. It’s already become a fan-favorite, with some listeners arguing that it’s worlds better than the original.

Needless to say, Sexyy’s come a long way since her cheating boyfriend diss track days in St. Louis, but that doesn’t mean she can’t look back on them with fondness. Earlier today, she responded to a loyal fan looking back on one of her first-ever music videos. The video in question is for her remix of Vanessa Carlton’s 2002 track “A Thousand Miles,” dubbed “Ah Thousand Jugs.”
