Beyoncé’s Three-Act Project: Is A Second Release Imminent?

2024-01-10-beyonce

Beyoncé fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of her three-act project, and recent comments from singer, songwriter, and producer The Dream have sparked even more excitement.

‘MY HOUSE’

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, Jan. 9, The Dream opened up about his collaboration with Beyoncé on Renaissance. The singer-songwriter discussed his challenges in crafting the track “MY HOUSE,” which was prominently featured in Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.

The concert-documentary film delved into the creation of Queen Bey’s record-breaking Renaissance World Tour, which was released on Dec.1. Dream stated:

“How do we wrap Renaissance up in a way without also trying to compete with it or make something that’s light-Renaissance, because Renaissance is a special thing?”

Dozens of fans were excited to hear of the news of a possible release of “ACT 2,” as one user named @TonyTh3King wrote, “Most folks ain’t picked their Renaissance wigs up off the floor yet. You know I’m ready tho sis @Beyonce let’s go!”

ACT 2?

However, some fans believe that others are being rather ‘delusional.’ One user named @StevenKlenk wrote, “Maybe I’m delusional but am I the only one that thinks that they would have said “how do we wrap up THE Renaissance” if they really meant they were wrapping up the era? To me this sentence reads “how do we wrap up Renaissance” (a film by Beyonce) since it’s the credit song, idk.”

Queen Bey herself has referred to Renaissance as “ACT I,” hinting at the existence of subsequent acts. In a 2022  message preceding the release of her seventh studio album, she wrote:

“This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.”

R.I.P. Tina Turner

Additionally, rumors have surfaced that the “CUFF IT” singer will be performing a tribute to the late Tina Turner at this year’s 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Although the news has been confirmed by the Today Show, Beyoncé has yet to make an official announcement.

‘The Book of Clarence’ Soundtrack

While Beyoncé’s devoted fans eagerly await “ACT 2” of her Renaissance, other artists have also returned to music. Neo-soul icon D’Angelo recently returned after an eight-year hiatus, collaborating with Jay-Z on the soundtrack for the thought-provoking film Book of Clarence.

The-Dream Says He Loves ‘Making You Guys Happy’ After Seeing The Reaction To Beyonce’s ‘Break My Soul’

Last week, Beyonce sent the world into a frenzy with the announcement that her seventh album Renaissance would arrive at the end of July. The chaos picked up when she revealed the project’s lead single, “Break My Soul” would be made available for fans on Tuesday. The song arrived a few hours earlier than expected as fans were given the opportunity to press play on it with just hours left in the Juneteenth holiday. Beyonce received sweeping praise from her fans for the song, and The-Dream, one of the song’s co-writers, took to Twitter to thank fans for their words.

“I Love Making You Guys Happy,” The-Dream wrote on Twitter before adding, “and even if for a second I can give anything of [myself] to help you get through a moment in these crazy times I’d use my entire heart to do so.” He continued, “No one’s f*cking sleeping tonight! @Beyonce we have done something special yet again my good friend.”

In addition to The-Dream, Beyonce’s “Break My Soul” also features songwriting from Tricky Stewart, Jay-Z, Fred McFarlane, Allen George, and others. The song itself samples Big Freedia’s 2014 bounce record “Explode” and Robin S.’ 1993 single “Show Me Love.”

Brent Faiyaz’s Upcoming ‘Wasteland’ Album Will Feature Drake, Tyler The Creator, Alicia Keys, And More

It’s been over two years since Brent Faiyaz released an album, with his last effort being 2020’s F*ck The World. While the project only peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200, it would go down to be one of the more celebrated R&B projects of that year. Since then, fans have been patiently waiting for the singer’s third album, and luckily enough for them, the wait for the upcoming project hasn’t been too grueling. He’s released records like “Mercedes,” “Wasting Time,” “Show U Off,” and “Gravity.” Thankfully, at long last, Brent arrived with the news that we’d been waiting for.

Brent announced the title for his third project and revealed its collaborators as well. Rick Ross And The-Dream Enjoy The Nightlife Of ‘Little Havana’ In The Song’s Official Video

In the video for “Little Havana” from Rick Ross’ eleventh studio album Richer Than I Ever Been, a title card introduces the song’s guest monologue from Willie Falcon, explaining just who the former kingpin is for those who heard him on the original but didn’t understand his significance to the Miami rapper’s music.

The video also adds a counterpoint from Ross himself, framing Falcon’s opening monologue as a phone conversation between the two men as Willie looks over his gorgeous tropical surroundings and Ross surveys his luxuriously appointed, fully stocked liquor shelf. As the beat kicks in, Ross and The-Dream, the song’s other featured artist, cruise through the nighttime Miami streets in a Rolls-Royce convertible taking in the city’s neon-washed nightlife.

In addition to “Little Havana,” Ross’ latest album also includes the singles “Outlawz” featuring 21 Savage and Jazmine Sullivan, and “Wiggle” featuring DreamDoll. The 12-song album, which also featured Benny The Butcher, Blxst, Future, Wale, and Wiz Khalifa, was followed up by a deluxe version that added three new songs including “Vacheron” featuring Golden Era veteran AZ and “Not For Nothing” with frequent Ross collaborator Anderson .Paak.

Rick Ross And The-Dream Celebrate Their Successes On The Lavish ‘Little Havana’

Of all the most bulletproof rap personas, Rick Ross‘ commitment to drug dealer kayfabe is probably the most impressive. We all know that his tales of being a lavish cocaine kingpin are likely mostly fabricated but we continue to tap in and enjoy them nonetheless. In turn, he keeps cranking them out and occasionally upping the ante, as he does on his new single “Little Havana.” The track opens with a monologue from Augusto Guillermo “Willy” Falcon, a former drug kingpin credited with operating one of South Florida’s biggest drug organizations through the ’70s, ’80s, and early ’90s. He’s credited here as “Willie Falcon.”

Willy expresses pride in his accomplishments, boasting, “I helped build Miami skyline into what it is today. Twenty billion dollars got me twenty-seven years in federal prison. I always live by the code of honor. That’s why my best days are ahead of me.” Meanwhile, Ross manages to remain humble even as he continues to brag about his own feats. “Problem was I never was a prodigy,” he raps in his verse. “Possibly, my biggest flaw is lack of modesty.”

Ross has plenty to boast about these days, though. His new album titled Richer Than I Ever Been drops next week, he and the founder of Rap Snacks have launched their own cannabis company, Drake’s called him the “greatest rapper alive,” and he’s even just got his driver’s license after being eligible for the past 29 years. Things are looking up for Rick Ross; indeed, it seems that like his good buddy Falcon, his best days are ahead of him.
