Kanye West And Teyana Taylor Rework A ‘K.T.S.E.’ Cut In A ‘Jeen-Yuhs’ Outtake

In director Coodie’s comprehensive Kanye West-centered documentary, Jeen-Yuhs, viewers get an intimate look at Ye’s creative process. Through over 20 years of footage, fans see the work that went into his iconic albums, including The College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation. In the Netflix documentary’s third and final part, titled “Act III: Awakening,” we see parts of the Wyoming sessions, which took place between 2017 and 2018, which resulted in the albums Ye, the Kid Cudi-collaborative Kids See Ghosts, and Teyana Taylor’s K.T.S.E.

In an outtake shared by Time, Ye and Taylor work on a song called “Cold Blooded,” which ultimately didn’t make the final tracklist of K.T.S.E. Unsatisfied with the sound of the song, Ye strips “Cold Blooded” of its original beat, then creates a new instrumental track in real-time.

Before making a name for himself as a rapper, Ye climbed the industry ladder producing tracks for Jay-Z, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys. In recent years, he’s worked behind the boards for artists like Christina Aguilera, Lil Nas X, and Pusha T.

With Jeen-Yuhs, we get a look at how some of Ye’s biggest songs and albums, both of his own and ones he produced for other artists, came to be.

it is unmistakeable that the Jeen-Yuhs documentary on Netflix that chronicles the life and times of Kanye West by friend and filmmaker Coodie over the past two decades is one of the most important pieces of visual Hip Hop history available to the public today.

Adding to the five hours of never seen before footage of Ye is the Time Magazine-exclusively released footage of West and G.O.O.D. Music signee Teyana Taylor in the studio in 2017 during Ye’s infamous Wyoming sessions. The two are shown working on an unreleased song titled “Cold Blooded” that didn’t make the final cut for Taylor’s K.T.S.E. album.

Taylor’s K.T.S.E. was recorded in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and was the ast of five albums completed there, including Pusha T’s Daytona, Kanye’s YeKids See Ghosts with Kid Cudi and Nas’ Nasir.

Doja Cat Struts Her Femininity In The Aesthetically Striking ‘Woman’ Video

Doja Cat’s Planet Her is one of 2021’s biggest albums and it all starts with the opener, “Woman.” The song quickly became one of the album’s favorites and now, Doja had gone ahead and made a video for it.

The Teyana Taylor-featuring video sees Doja flaunting her femininity on Planet Her as she dances to the Afrobeats track. At one point, she borrows a page out of the “WAP” playbook by dancing in a shallow pool of water. Overall, the clip is full of striking environments and costumes, making for an aesthetic visual to accompany the rhythmic song.

As for the song (which she co-wrote with Jidenna), it sees Doja offering praise of the fairer sex, as she kicks off the opening verse, “What you need? / She give tenfold, come here, papa, plant your seed / She can grow it from her womb, a family / Provide lovin’ overlooked and unappreciated, you see.” She later stands up for the roadblocks that women face: “Gotta face a lot of people of the opposite / ‘Cause the world told me, ‘We ain’t got the common sense’ / Gotta prove it to myself that I’m on top of sh*t / And you will never know a god without the goddesses.”

Teyana Taylor Was Hospitalized For Exhaustion Prior To A Recent Concert

Nearly a year after she announced her retirement from music, Teyana Taylor set out on a brief tour to say goodbye. The string of shows, titled The Last Rose Petal… Farewell Tour, began earlier this month and is set to continue until November 30 in Atlanta. Unfortunately, her plans for a smooth tour were disrupted before a recent show. She was set to perform in Connecticut on Saturday alongside Ari Lennox and Sevyn Streeter when she took to Instagram to reveal she was hospitalized for exhaustion

“Thank you for being so understanding,” Teyana wrote under a picture of her in a hospital bed. “Y’all know Petunia don’t miss no shows & most importantly, know I’ve been leaving it all on tha stage for a month straight 1000%. So I am really saddened to have not been able to do the same for you last night.” She continued, “My team & I tried everything down to the very last second to get me out on that stage, but my body simply just gave out, which actually started a few days ago. SHUT DOWN, my body actually low key betrayed me cause ah b*tch was tryna get on that stage.”

“Y’all know I’m with the sh*ts,” she added. “Y’all have seen me with a broken foot and all types of other crazy sh*t but still got on that stage and bodied it… But honestly you have to listen to your body and know when to sit down; or it will definitely sit you down….. in the ER.”

Teyana also said that she would take the next few days to “continue to recover.” She added that a new date for the Connecticut show will be scheduled soon and previously-purchased tickets will be honored.

Teyana Taylor’s 5-Year-Old Daughter Stopped A Concert To Scold The Crowd For Fighting During Her Set

Teyana Taylor is currently gearing up for retirement from music by going on one last show-stopping tour. During her performances, Taylor’s adorable daughter Junie, who is five years old and already probably more Instagram-famous than you, oftentimes makes an appearance on stage. During a recent set, Junie made it clear that she inherited her mother’s fearless spirit because she stopped the show to scold the crowd for fighting during her song.

“Ain’t no f*cking fighting while my baby’s performing,” Taylor told the crowd and Junie clearly agreed. She reprimanded the audience for causing a disturbance and made it clear she had every intention of keeping the show moving. “Whoever has gotten sassy, they need to get out,” Junie said, continuing with: “If you don’t play my music, I’m beating y’all up.”

It was far from the first time Taylor has stopped one of her performances due to some commotion in the crowd. Earlier this month, the singer was performed a show at Los Angeles’ The Novo theater when she noticed member of the crowd was looking queasy and slumped over the barrier. Taylor then paused her set to make sure the fan was OK. She instructed security guards to pull the fan out of the packed crowd and sit them down until they were feeling alright.

Fans Credit Iman Shumpert’s Dancing With The Stars Win To Teyana Taylor’s Tutelage

In case you missed it: Retired NBA star Iman Shumpert is now a champion in two sports, basketball and ballroom dancing. The former Brooklyn Net won the 30th season of the dance competition show Dancing With The Stars with his professional partner Daniella Karagach, becoming the only NBA player in the show’s history to qualify for the finals and to win the competition.

Online, though, some have begun to credit his impressive win (in week 6 of 10, he and Karagach scored a perfect 40 in the contemporary dance category) to his marriage to R&B singer/dancer/choreographer/director/producer Teyana Taylor. The two share two children, have appeared in many of Taylor’s videos together, and also star in a reality show on VH1, Teyana And Iman. With her impressive list of accomplishments, as well as her expertise in the field of dance, fans came together to joke that her stern tutelage was a big contributor to Shump’s success, making her name trend on Twitter in the process.

Of course, considering what the response would have been if were the roles reversed, no one should have a problem with the jokes, as men are often credited for the accomplishments of their famous female partners (sometimes, headlines erase their partners’ names entirely, reducing women to just athletes’ wives and girlfriends). If we can poke a little fun at a rich and famous athlete and the patriarchy at the same time, I’d call that a win-win for everybody.

Teyana Taylor Stopped Her LA Show To Make Sure A Fan In The Crowd Was Okay

Teyana Taylor is about to retire from her music career. The singer is making sure she’s going out with a bang with one last show-stopping tour, The Last Rose Petal Farewell Tour, which kicked off this week and comes to a close at the end of November. Along with making sure fans have a special time seeing her perform one last time, she also wanted to ensure their safety. That’s why she stopped her show mid-set to check up on a fan in the crowd who wasn’t looking too hot.

Taylor was performing at LA’s The Novo theater when she paused the show. As seen in videos captured by the audience, Taylor walked over to a fan who was slumped against the crowd barrier. She asked if the fan was okay and instructed security guards to pull them out of the crowd and sit them down. “I’m about to retire, you ain’t finna sue me, baby,” she said into the mic.

Taylor’s comment about a lawsuit might have been referencing what went down over the weekend at Astroworld festival. A crowd-control disaster led to a massive stampede of people, tragically causing eight deaths and several injuries. The event has also led to a number of lawsuits, with several Astroworld concertgoers suing Live Nation and Travis Scott for $1 million in damages.

Teyana Taylor Announces A Farewell Tour As She Nears Her Official Retirement From Music

Last year, Teyana Taylor announced her plans to retire from music months after the release of her third album, which was called, simply, The Album. She revealed that she would be “retiring this chapter” of her career due to “being overlooked,” which she said was a result of issues with her label, Def Jam. “I constantly feel alone, I constantly feel under-appreciated, I constantly feel failed…there is literally no push,” she said during an Instagram Live, adding that she asked to be dropped from the label “on almost 10 different occasions.” Taylor seems quite close to making her retirement official, but she won’t do so without a farewell tour, which she announced today.

Starting this November, Taylor will hit the road for The Last Rose Petal Farewell Tour. “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard,” she wrote on social media. “However, for every goodbye, God makes the next hello closer. Come out and watch me leave it all out on the stage… One last time… Just for you & as my last rose petal falls, I say farewell.”

The tour begins on November 7 in San Francisco and continues throughout the month before coming to an end on November 30 in Atlanta. Pre-sale tickets will be available starting on September 23 while general admission begins on September 24 at 10 am.
