It’s maybe a slight coincidence but let’s break down some facts: the Kansas City Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles on ABC next Monday, the day before DWTS. We know that Swift has been showing up to some recent games, and the NFL has been using Swiftian Concepts for their own personal benefit, so is it really far-fetched to believe DWTS is using Swift’s God-like status as a way to boost viewership after a lackluster season? You decide!
The long-running dancing competition will feature Swift’s Eras Tour choreographer Mandy Moore (not that one) as a special guest judge for its “Celebration Of Taylor Swift” night on Tuesday, November 21st. The six remaining couples will shake it off to various Swift cuts. If you ever wanted to see the likes of Alyson Hannigan and Jason Mraz battle it out on the Swift-inspired dance floor, now is your chance. Also, you must be from the year 2008, welcome.
While there is no confirmation that Swift will appear at the Chiefs game or even acknowledge the Dancing With The Stars night, she will be in Argentina this weekend, so maybe we can give her a day off from running through everyone’s brains.

Spears and her partner Alan Bersten posted a respectable 16 for their Cha-Cha. However, they still found themselves in the bottom two alongside former NFL running back Adrian Peterson. They just didn’t have the public votes and Spears was sent home. Peterson’s samba had earned him a 15 from the judges. The judges were fairly shocked by Spears’ exit, having praised her performance and improvement from week one.
Latin Week had proven to be a mixed bag. While most couples improved, there was still a week-low of 12 points for Mauricio Umansky. Meanwhile, two couples set a new season-high with 24 points. Xochitl Gomez scored 24 for her samba while Jason Mraz scored the same with his rumba. Also breaking 20 points were Lele Pons, Charity Lawson, and Ariana Madix. Next week, the show will have its first Motown Week of the season.

It’s safe to say that Spears was not the most popular contestant on this season of the show. In particular, she had received intense backlash from fans of her sister Britney during week one. Many people questioned why Britney hadn’t been invited, with others calling it “Dancing With The Stars’ Sister”. Furthermore, several others openly wished for Jamie Lynn to get injured or for her partner Alan to sabotage the pair.
However, TMZ has reported that Britney was told about Jamie Lynn’s casting prior to the show airing and “took it pretty well” according to one source. Spears has been facing her own dancing woes as of late. A string of knife videos sparked concern among fans and even led to the musician receiving a welfare check from local police. Outside of Britney, the Spears family had been pretty supportive of Jamie Lynn. Even Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline say he was rooting for her.
Former Dancing With the Stars host Len Goodman has died at age 78. According to Page Six, Goodman died from his battle with Bone cancer.
Speaking with Page Six, Goodman’s agent, Jackie Gill, confirmed his death in a statement.
“It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78,” Gill wrote.
She added Goodman was “a much loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him.”
Goodman passed in hospice with his family by his side.
Goodman was a Dancing With The Stars judge through November 2022. He judged Hip-hop culture contestants, including Master P, Nelly, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Kim Kardashian, Lil Kim, Mya, Brandy, Wendy Williams, Romeo, and Vanilla Ice.
In case you missed it: Retired NBA star Iman Shumpert is now a champion in two sports, basketball and ballroom dancing. The former Brooklyn Net won the 30th season of the dance competition show Dancing With The Stars with his professional partner Daniella Karagach, becoming the only NBA player in the show’s history to qualify for the finals and to win the competition.
Online, though, some have begun to credit his impressive win (in week 6 of 10, he and Karagach scored a perfect 40 in the contemporary dance category) to his marriage to R&B singer/dancer/choreographer/director/producerTeyana Taylor. The two share two children, have appeared in many of Taylor’s videos together, and also star in a reality show on VH1, Teyana And Iman. With her impressive list of accomplishments, as well as her expertise in the field of dance, fans came together to joke that her stern tutelage was a big contributor to Shump’s success, making her name trend on Twitter in the process.

Of course, considering what the response would have been if were the roles reversed, no one should have a problem with the jokes, as men are often credited for the accomplishments of their famous female partners (sometimes, headlines erase their partners’ names entirely, reducing women to just athletes’ wives and girlfriends). If we can poke a little fun at a rich and famous athlete and the patriarchy at the same time, I’d call that a win-win for everybody.
