During her stellar performance at 2023’s Dreamville Festival, the empress of modern-day R&B, Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope Records), announced that her forthcoming effort CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP will drop May 19thCLEAR 2: SOFT LIFEEP is the sequel to Summer’s 2019 release, CLEAR, which served as a four-track offering and a prelude to her magnum opus and platinum effort, Over It. Fans can pre-order the project exclusively from her website at www.summerwalkermusic.com

In 2022, Summer revamped her 2018 masterpiece Last Day of Summer with Last Day of Summer (Sped Up). The newer version arrived after the TikTok success of “Karma,” which saw spikes in streams after fans sped up the older rendition at the start of 2022. TikTok influencer @whereisreese created the viral dance and helped propel the song into new success, including her No. 9 entry on urban radio, which continues to climb.

Other Summer songs which have found similar success after being sped up on TikTok and YouTube include “Shame,” “Deep,” and her Billboard smash hit “Girls Need Love (Remix)” featuring Drake. The latter began catching traction when Kehlani expressed her joy in the sped-up version, dubbing it her “new favorite sound.” Last Day of Summer is officially the first sped-up album to be released by a major recording artist and is a result of the singer listening to her devoted fanbase, who found pleasure in revisiting her classic but in a newer way. Last Day of Summer was the precursor to Summer’s electric 2019 debut album Over It, which spawned acclaim and fanfare throughout the music industry.

She also continues to rack up more RIAA wins and certifications, including “I’ll Kill You (2X Platinum),” “CPR (Platinum),” “Just Might (Platinum),” “Karma (Platinum),” “Just Might (Platinum),” “Tonight (Platinum),” “Constant Bullshit (Gold),” “Insane (“Gold”), “My Affection” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR (Gold),” “Off Of You, (Gold”), “Toxic” featuring Lil Durk (Gold)” and “Unloyal” featuring Ari Lennox (Gold).”

Summer Walker’s CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP is now available for pre order exclusively at www.summerwalkermusic.com.

J. Cole Was Left Speechless After Summer Walker Beat Him At An Arcade Basketball Game

J. Cole hosted Dreamville Festival for yet another year at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend. The Dreamville boss reasserted his rap dominance as the co-headliner with Drake on Sunday, April 2, but his Cole’s otherwise pristine reputation as a hooper took a hit.

Summer Walker was not intimidated by Cole nor his presumed home-court advantage.

“[Cry-laughing emoji] ran it up at the Dave & Buster’s,” Walker captioned an Instagram reel. In it, Walker is coolly running up the score on the Pop-A-Shot. Cole stands beside her in amazement, putting his hands on his head and staring at her in disbelief.

An A&R consultant who was on hand confirmed that Walker actually beat Cole at the game.

Walker used her Sunday set at Dreamville Fest to confirm she’ll be dropping an EP, Clear 2: Soft Life, next month.

“Just wanted to let you guys know that I have an EP dropping May 19,” Walker said before finishing her set with “Insane,” a track from 2021’s Still Over It. “Go to my website if you wanna pre-order it. It’s a lil somethin’, somethin’. Clear. Y’all ready for some new music?”

Dreamville Festival also boasted Usher as the headliner on Saturday, April 1. Lil Durk, Ari Lennox, City Girls, Sean Paul, EarthGang, Jessie Reyez, Key Glock, Sir, Lute, Omen, Marqus Clae, Victony, JID, GloRilla, Bas, Waka Flocka Flame, Mario, Ayra Starr, Baby Tate, Cozz, Jordan Ward, Reuben Vincent, and Burna Boy rounded out the heavy-hitting lineup.

Summer Walker Wins $400 At Dave & Busters With J. Cole, Waka Flocka & More

Dreamville Festival was a massive success this year. J. Cole and co. brought out the stars for an incredible two-day festival. Along with the Dreamville roster, including J.I.D, Bas, and others, they also hosted acts like Summer Walker, Usher, and plenty of others. However, after closing things out with J. Cole and Drake’s incredible co-headlining set, they took the party to Dave & Busters where Summer Walker emerged as the winner.

The R&B star took to Instagram where she revealed that she was snatching up everyone’s money. Walker revealed that she won $440 “on accident” from apparently placing bets against a number of people on the basketball arcade game. A video emerged of Walker hitting back-to-back swishes at D&B’s emerged as J. Cole appeared shook at her athletic abilities. Eventually, he holds his head in disbelief while Walker peers over her shoulders and says, “What?” Perhaps, we’ll catch the two of them collaborating in the near future following her win at the arcade.

After showcasing her basketball skills, she got into a game of air hockey with Waka Flocka. Apparently, Dreamville has some pull at D&B as Waka Flocka was spotted sparking a blunt at the other end of the table. Evidently, the eventful weekend closed out with some fun for everyone involved in Dreamville Festival. “$440 from Dave N Busters on accident,” she captioned her story. “Ain’t lost one game.” Ultimately, it seems like her skills impressed both Waka Flocka and J. Cole.

Summer Walker delivered an incredible set at Dreamville Festival, though she has even more surprises in store for her fans. This afternoon, she announced her new EP, Clear 2: Soft Life. The upcoming project marks her first since 2021’s Still Over It. The new EP drops on May 19th, so we’ll have plenty of heat in store for the summer months. Though she hasn’t revealed a tracklist yet, we could imagine that she’ll have a few collabs on deck for Clear 2: Soft Life. Check out footage from Dave & Busters above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Summer Walker Confirmed When She’s Dropping Her ‘Clear 2: Soft Life’ EP At Dreamville Festival

Summer Walker hit a personal milestone at the beginning of this year. “I really reached my goal of hella kids before 30,” she wrote on her Instagram Story in January. “I’m so happy.” Walker welcomed twins, her second and third children after first welcoming a daughter, Bubbles, with her ex, London On Da Track, in 2021.

Now, it appears she’s ready to hit more professional milestones.

Walker announced her Clear 2: Soft Life EP will drop on May 19 while performing her set at Dreamville Festival on Sunday, April 2. (Her Clear EP arrived in January 2019.)

“Just wanted to let you guys know that I have an EP dropping May 19,” Walker told her audience. “Go to my website if you wanna pre-order it. It’s a lil somethin’, somethin’. Clear. Y’all ready for some new music?”

Walker finished her set by thanking J. Cole and Dreamville — “love all of you” for having her and performing “Insane” from her 2021 album, Still Over It.

Dreamville Festival was headlined by Usher on Saturday night, April 1, and co-headlined by Drake and J. Cole on Sunday. Away from the stage, Walker ruthlessly “ran it up at Dave & Buster’s, shocking Cole in the process:

Summer Walker Announces “Clear 2: Soft Life” EP During Her Dreamville Set

Even after giving birth to twins a few months ago, Summer Walker continues to prove her dedication to her craft. She performed at this past weekend’s Dreamville Festival, chiefly using her time on stage to make an exciting announcement. In between singing some of her biggest hits from projects like Over It and Still Over It, the R&B diva confirmed that a new EP, titled Clear 2: Soft Life, will be coming very soon.

The upcoming release will mark her first solo effort since the 2021 album. That body of work markedly chronicled her tumultuous relationship with London On Da Track. The two artists share Walker’s oldest child, Bubbles. Unfortunately, they’ve had a difficult time navigating co-parenting since going their separate ways. Since then, the Atlanta native has also ended things with the father of her twins, Larry, causing some fans to speculate that this new EP may give us some insight into that situation.

Summer Walker Says New Music OTW

“Just wanted to let y’all guys know that I have an EP dropping… May 19th. Go to my website if you wanna pre-order it,” the 26-year-old told the crowd on Sunday (April 2) night. “Y’all ready for some new music?” As Hypebae notes, the planned release will serve as a sequel to 2019’s CLEAR, which consists of four solo titles – “Riot,” “Grave,” “Wasted,” and “Settling.” More recently, we’ve heard the mother of three on “Tell Me It’s Over” with Jacquees and 6LACK from the former’s 2022 album, as well as alongside Ciara on “Better Thangs.”

Regardless of what stories she plans to tell on her next project, R&B lovers are just happy to know that new music from the ethereal vocalist is on the way this spring. Elsewhere at Dreamville Fest, Summer Walker posed for a photo with Usher (who headlined on April Fool’s Day and hilariously tricked his audience into thinking Beyoncé would be joining him) and played arcade games with J. Cole himself. Keep scrolling to see more photos and videos of the singer’s weekend in Raleigh, and let us know if you’re excited about her upcoming EP in the comments.

Alex Vaughn Gets Real On “The Hurtbook (Homegirl Pack)” Album Feat. Summer Walker, Ari Lennox, And Muni Long

Last October, Alex Vaughn blessed our ears with The Hurtbook, on which her sweet and soulful voice rings out over eight featureless tracks. After leaving that to digest with listeners through late 2022 and into the new year, she returned this New Music Friday (March 17), with the Homegirl Pack version of her project, which boasts some seriously impressive guest features. For one, we hear her LVRN labelmate Summer Walker on the “So Be It (Remix),” which has already been streamed upwards of 4.5 million times on Spotify.

Dreamville’s own Ari Lennox comes through on the next title, “Demon Time (Remix),” which beautifully blends her voice with Vaughn as they trade raunchy verses over the silky smooth beat. “Love it when I’m drippin’ on you, grabbin’ on my neck / Watchin’ you, watchin’ mе, I’m the best you evеr had,” the “Needs” songstress croons on the refrain.

For her part, Lennox sings about her incessant hunger for a jaguar, whom she’s willing to climb a tree for. “Talking to some dudes, but I’m f*ckin’ you / Satisfied / Oven toast you right for that creamy pipe / Let it stay inside,” her flirtatious lyrics continue before both women come together to make music magic on the chorus.

Elsewhere on her updated project, Vaughn tapped singer-songwriter Muni Long to help her with “IYKYK.” As expected from the two beauties, the track is quickly picking up traction and earning the praise it deserves online. “Thank you so much @arilennox @munilong @summerwalker for sharing your gifts w me on this project,” the young starlet wrote on Instagram earlier this weekend. “I am so grateful. y’all are SUPERHEROS.”

Summer Walker Shares Video Of Baby Bubbles “Beating [Her] Ass”

Her relationship with her baby daddies may not be exactly what she expected. Still, Summer Walker always knew she wanted to be a mother of multiple children at a relatively young age. She and London on da Track share her oldest, known as Bubbles. Of course, they’ve had a difficult time publicly navigating their co-parenting situation. When the Still Over It hitmaker announced her second pregnancy, this one with then-boyfriend Larry, fans were overjoyed that she had a shot at experiencing a healthy romance while carrying her babies.

As her due date neared closer last year, internet sleuths noticed Walker’s beau’s sudden absence from her social media posts. They accordingly began speculating that trouble was afoot for the pair. She denied the gossip at first. Later, though, the mother of three later confirmed that she and Larry decided to go their separate ways. While the news was undeniably heartbreaking, she’s managed to soldier on with grace as she adjusts to life with two more children.

She’s kept her newborn’s faces mostly out of the spotlight. Lately, though, Walker has been sharing occasional posts revealing their adorable matching outfits underneath emojis. Her first child, Bubbles, has often been seen on Instagram in the past. However, the Atlanta-born songstress seems to be embracing more privacy for the young girl as well. Still, she couldn’t help but share a hilarious clip of her daughter “beating [her] ass” non-stop earlier this weekend.

In the video from her Instagram Story, the 26-year-old sits in her living room with friends and her little one, singing away as Bubbles begins attacking her. “This child stay beating my ass 😂. She wrong af,” Walker wrote on top of the concerning footage. As the man behind the camera continues to record, the mother-daughter duo’s scrap continues, though it’s obviously the latter who’s winning against her famous parent. See for yourself below, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.
