Angel Reese will seemingly miss at least two more LSU games. Yesterday (November 23) was Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving means NFL football, and NFL football means halftime shows. Marcellus Wiley, the former Dallas Cowboy and ESPN analyst, has been named as the defendant in a troubling lawsuit. An Ivy League professor alleges that Wiley “raped her multiple times in her dorm room” while they were both attending Columbia in 1994. “[Wiley’s] actions were intentionally designed to cause plaintiff severe emotional distress or were taken with reckless disregard of the significant and/or substantial probability of causing plaintiff severe emotional distress,” the lawsuit reads. Furthermore, the victim alleges that she attempted to report Wiley at the time but was rebuffed by school administrators. The victim claimed administrators “expressed a fondness for Wiley” and tried to convince her that “the event was a misunderstanding”.
At the time, Wiley was placed on “academic probation” for “poor grades”. However, more students would come forward with similar allegations about Wiley, but none of the accusations went anywhere. As a result, Columbia is also named in the suit for their “callous, negligent, reckless and deceptive response to, and handling of, plaintiff’s and other students’ allegations was an unconscionable revictimization of the plaintiff, which caused psychological injuries, financial and academic damages.”
The lawsuit against Wiley was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. The act is a state law that lets women sue their alleged abusers beyond the initial statute of limitations for the crimes in question. However, the law is set to expire tomorrow. Other high-profile cases under this law include the recent suits against Axl Rose, Russell Brand, and Diddy. Also being sued is Cuba Gooding Jr, who was sued by two women earlier this week.
Jasmine Abbay accused Gooding Jr of “forcibly kissing her without consent” when she was working as a cocktail waitress in midtown Manhattan in September 2018. Meanwhile, Kelsey Herbert claimed Gooding Jr “groped her breast” at a different Midtown bar in June 2019. “Our clients were deprived of the justice they sought in the criminal case. They are now seeking justice and accountability in their civil cases”, said the plaintiffs’ lawyer, Gloria Allred. Allred has risen to prominence in recent years, representing clients in cases against Bill Cosby and Donald Trump.

An investigation has been opened after Cal basketball player Fardaws Aimaq confronted a fan after allegedly being called a “terrorist”. The incident occurred at the SoCal Challenge tournament, with Aimaq confronting the man after Cal’s 75-72 loss to UTEP. “Throughout and after Monday’s game, Fardaws Aimaq was allegedly subjected to abhorrent and offensive comments from a fan. This included being called a terrorist. I have asked the SoCal Challenge tournament director that a formal investigation be conducted and that this fan be barred from the premises,” Cal coach Mark Madsen told reporters.
However, Madsen also noted that Aimaq would be disciplined for responding the way he did. “Fardaws and I had an important conversation today about how he needs to maintain his composure regardless of what takes place in a game or what is said to him directly. I am disturbed that Fardaws was allegedly on the receiving end of such language. And I’m disappointed that he confronted this fan in the stands. Fardaws understands my expectations for how he as a student-athlete conducts himself. The consequences related to this situation will be managed internally,” Madsen added.
However, the incident involving Aimaq was not the only thing viral incident that has come out of the various holiday tournaments. Marquette head coach Shaka Smart had to be restrained by his own players as he tried to throw down with members of Kansas’ roster. Late in the first half of the game at the AllState Maui Invitational, Kevin McCullar Jr. drilled a corner three for the #1 Jayhawks. Then , he appeared to say something to the Marquette bench as he moved back down the sideline. Moments later, the benches cleared as Smart appeared to try and chase after McCullar. However, the third-year head coach was held back by his players, and nothing more than an exchange of words occurred. Regardless of the lack of violence, a team technical was called on the #4 Golden Eagles.
The incident aside, the game was all positives for Marquette. With school legend Dwyane Wade sitting courtside, the Golden Eagles knocked off Kansas 73-59. Despite the game getting the deserved hype of a top-four matchup, Marquette led for all but 22 seconds of the game. With #2 Purdue also advancing in the Feast Week tournament, Marquette will become the 10th team in NCAA history to play the top-two ranked teams on consecutive days. Furthermore, they became the first to do so since 1972. However, the last time a team won both such games was in 1963.
Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin has downplayed any notion of friction between him and Giannis Antetokounmpo after the two had a heated sideline exchange. “He wanted to stay in, I wanted to give him a breather. That’s all it was. And then I told him to stay at the table for one possession, and he got right back out there,” Griffin said after the game. Meanwhile, Giannis simply said “no” when asked to give an explanation of the exchange.

Kourtney Kardashian resumed her offensive against Tristan Thompson on the latest episode of The Kardashians. “I see these TikTok videos and there’s these people and they’re like, ‘I am a sociopath narcissist. Furthermore, Kourtney took aim at not just Thompson, but also her family at large. “In this family, you guys are so lucky — all the guys — because for whatever reason, it’s held a higher priority of, ‘Let’s keep everyone happy and getting along, and let’s make sure Tristan is at Christmas Eve and everyone’s there, and it’s one big happy family and let’s make sure everything’s fun and happy’. For some reason, that takes a priority in this family over setting a boundary or having someone’s back or having someone’s side,” Kourtney lamented.
Much of Kourtney’s screentime on the current season of the show has been about standing up to Thompson. There is certainly a spectrum of acceptance towards Thompson amongst the family. Furthermore, Kourtney definitely slots in at its lowest end. “Tristan and I really have not connected and I just can’t fake it,” Kourtney told Kylie Jenner ahead of the now multi-episode sitdown with Thompson.
The confrontation was preceded by Kourtney laying bare her feelings about the Cavaliers role player. “I told her the first day of school, I was so triggered by him. And I know why, but I feel like we all brush it off and are fine, and then I was just so triggered. I was like, ‘I just can’t do it anymore’,” Kourtney said of a conversation with her daughter Penelope. However, Kourtney, who has grown more distant from the core family in recent years, does appear to be a minority dissenter. This season of the show has also seen Kim wax poetical about how conflicted she is about the awful things Thompson did to her sister but also the kindness he shows the family and how good he is with the KarJen children.
