Quavo & Takeoff Drop Their Latest Single “Nothing Changed”

We’re less than a week away from the release of Quavo and Takeoff’s upcoming album, Only Built For Infinity Links. The new project will be their first as a duo, sans Offset. However, Quavo and Takeoff haven’t sounded as revitalized in the past five years as they have on the slew of singles they released since May’s “Hotel Lobby (Unc & Phew).”

Today, the duo slid through with their fourth and presumably final single before the album drops in its entirety. “Never Changed” boasts production from Murda Beatz, Keanu Beats, and Fabio Aguilar, who create a spacey soundscape for Quavo and Takeoff. The two artists come through with honeyed melodies, paired with ostentatious bars that reflect their wealth and loyalty.

Only Built For Infinity Links will boast features from Birdman, Gucci Mane, Summer Walker, Young Thug, Gunna, and more.

Check out their new song below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
No letterman, I been a veteran
N***a do anything for a name
When you start getting them ‘lil chains, watch how your partners and everything change
And when you step foot in that field, make sure you’re strapped and make sure you got aim

Freddie Gibbs & Pusha T Pen A Cocaine Novella On “Gold Rings”

The wait is finally over. Freddie Gibbs came through with a potential AOTY contender this morning. Following weeks of anticipation with singles like “Too Much” and “Dark Hearted,” the Gary, IN native came through with $oul $old $eparately in its entirety. The new album from Kane boasts 15 songs with a few familiar faces including Pusha T.

Sevn Thomas, Sean Momberger, and Jahaan Sweet bring opulent harp strings for Freddie Gibbs and Pusha T’s latest collab, “Gold Rings.” As you’d expect, “Gold Rings” is a lyrically potent banger that finds the two heavyweight MCs trading cocaine tales. Gibbs kicks off the record, detailing love and heartbreak through the POV of the coke trade before Pusha T leaps into his verse that he describes as his “cocaine novella.”

The two rappers certainly don’t disappoint in their latest collaboration. They previously connected on Bandana highlight, “Palmolive” alongside Killer Mike. That one song sparked demand for a joint project between Gibbs and Push. Neither have shut the door on the possibilities but it seems more likely that we get the long-awaited Pusha T x Madlib album before a joint project with Freddie Gibbs.

Quotable Lyrics
I’m the street dream, Nas with the cummerbund

The dope floats on a boat, now come give the drummer some
They going for thirty-three, I just let the numbers run
The king of the kilo, I don’t believe none of ’em except Gibbs

Smino & J. Cole’s Highly-Anticipated Collab “90 Proof” Lives Up To The Hype

We’re officially approaching the 4-year mark since the release of Smino’s excellent project, NOIR. Though he hasn’t left fans empty-handed. The St. Louis rapper came out out a handful of singles since then, along with a few collabs with artists like Yebba, J.I.D., and more. However, he’s remained lowkey as fans anticipate one song in particular.

Following the debut of his new song on St. Louis’s Hot 104.1 a few weeks ago, Smino’s finally unveiled his latest collab with J. Cole, “90 Proof.” Smino’s elastic vocals stretch over the bluesy production from Monte Booker and Groove. J. Cole delivers yet another stand-out verse in his 2022 run, flexing double-time flows with a melodic approach akin to Smino’s.

“90 Proof” serves as the first single off of Smino’s forthcoming album, Luv 4 Rent.

Smino and J. Cole are no strangers to each other. The former lent his talent to Revenge Of The Dreamers III on “1993” and “Sacrifices,” both of which feature J. Cole.

Earlier this year, Dreamville released D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape with DJ Drama. Additionally, Cole appeared on Bia’s “LONDON,” Benny The Butcher’s “Johnny P’s Caddy,” and more.

You know they gon’ G-O-A-T me, I spell it out for you like Fabolous

Roddy Ricch Arrives With “Stop Breathing” Single

Los Angeles hitmaker Roddy Ricch may be a more withdrawn figure in the industry, but when he appears, Hip Hop pays attention. In 2019, Ricch’s Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial peaked at the No. 1 position on the Billboard charts, and his 2021 sophomore follow-up, Live Life Fast, climbed its way to No. 4.

As usual, fans have been clamoring for more from the “High Fashion” hitmaker and it’s said he’s close to sharing the latest installment of his mixtape series. Feed Tha Streets III is rumored to arrive before the year’s end and in a post shared earlier this month, Roddy let the world know the project was on the way.

As we edge into the rapper’s rollout season, he brings us “Stop Breathing,” his latest single that will assumingly find a home on Feed Tha Streets III. He’s teased this track on Instagram, so fans are already belting out the snippets that emerged online.

Quotable Lyrics

Carti please, four G’s make them stop breathin’

They can’t be rich they just tryna make a carbon copy of ‘em
Countin’ up this new money, every single day I’m home

Akbar V. Drops Cardi B Diss “Bothered”

Akbar V. is not letting up on Cardi B. Days after their Twitter war, the Atlanta rapper still has some things to get off her chest. Earlier this week, she shared a snippet of an alleged diss track about the Bronx rapper, stating “It be the ones that don’t know what’s going on that have so much to say. I can really end b**** with like two lines. New music getting ready to drop.”

The track, which spans one-minute and 46 seconds, entitled “Bothered,” comes just days after the two femcees traded insults on social media; dragging each other about everything from record sales to motherhood. As Cardi continues to celebrate the success of her chart topping collaboration “Tomorrow 2” with GloRilla, Akbar unleashes her wrath on the Grammy nominated star, rapping, “She still ugly.”

Last month, the 33-year old rapper joined Nicki Minaj on her controversial track “Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix).” Since the success of the record, Akbar has been finding her footing in hip hop game, by any means necessary. Share your thoughts on the new track below.

Quotable Lyrics

I’m pretty in real life, this face don’t need no fillers
Keep it a band, keep it a buck, b**** you don’t really know no hitters
Why you bothered? Why you bothered?
Calling my phone b****, how you get my number?
