50 Cent Doesn’t Feel Good About Louisiana’s New Film Tax Cut

Damn, 50 Cent, your G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, promised to be the next big thing in Hollywood, what happened? The mogul’s new film empire may have endured an obstacle after the state announced plans to eliminate its film tax credit on Wednesday (Nov.13). The Louisiana House of Representatives voted to dismantle the state’s $150 million tax incentive program, threatening the film industry and the future of operations in Shreveport. 50 Cent fans on Instagram were encouraged to “stay positive” in several posts.

He captioned the first post with, “This doesn’t feel good, but it could be great for Louisiana. Patience—let’s see how it plays out.” A second post captioned: “I know people in Shreveport are sick right now, stay positive everything happens for a reason. I want to thank you for supporting me with Humor Harmony having zero violent crimes for 16 days, believe it or not that made that event one of my biggest accomplishments.” 50 Cent launched G-Unit Studios in April.

Is 50 Cent’s Louisiana Empire In Danger?

Shreveport’s Mayor Tom Arceneaux publicly discussed the loss of the tax credit and acknowledged the challenge ahead and the lack of immediate solutions. The removal of this funding threatens the city’s efforts to establish itself as a prominent Southern film hub—a status that 50 Cent’s recent investments had helped shape. 50 Cent’s involvement was set to bring Shreveport into the film industry spotlight.

The vote to eliminate the credit passed decisively at 87-12 and now heads to the State Senate and Governor’s desk. Without reinstatement, the state risks losing a unique opportunity for growth in entertainment. 50 Cent’s investments could bring major production and jobs to the region. The tax elimination may result in relocation. G-Unit Film and Television Studio was originally to be located in Houston, Texas. In October, he raised 500,000 for the Houston Children’s Charity. 50 holds an annual Tycoon Festival in Texas.

50 Cent’s Shreveport Film Studio Plans In Jeopardy Amid Louisiana’s Potential Tax Credit Changes

Plans for 50 Cent’s new G-Unit Film & TV Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, have hit a snag due to potential changes in the state’s tax credit policies. Louisiana lawmakers are considering ending a tax credit program that offers a 40% rebate on in-state film and TV production expenditures. On Wednesday (November 13), the Louisiana House of Representatives voted to phase out this program by June 2025 as part of a broader tax system overhaul.

The proposed bill will now advance to the Senate, where it awaits a vote. Louisiana’s film and TV production tax credits played a significant role in 50 Cent’s decision to establish his base in Shreveport, a move he announced earlier this year with plans to boost local industry and community.

Reacting to the news on Instagram, 50 Cent expressed mixed emotions. “This doesn’t feel good, but it could be great for Louisiana. Patience—let’s see how it plays out.” He followed up with another post, acknowledging the challenges. “I know people in Shreveport are sick right now. Stay positive; everything happens for a reason. I want to thank you all for supporting me. Humor Harmony recorded zero violent crimes for 16 days, which turned it into one of my biggest accomplishments.”

Beyond the film studio, 50 Cent had ambitious plans to invest in Shreveport’s housing. He has already initiated efforts to revitalize several properties in the downtown area. Gerod Durden, a real estate broker involved with G-Unit’s projects, stated that 50 Cent intends to purchase and renovate approximately two dozen commercial properties as part of a three-phase initiative. According to local NBC affiliate KTAL, this project aims to bring significant investments to Shreveport’s economy and uplift the community.

“He is very passionate about the city,” Durden said. “I would say 10 or more properties that we’ve already closed a few of this week. It’ll be an additional 10 or so. These are all-cash offers. You know, there, there’s quite a few entertainment spots for not only adults and kids.”

Hurricane Chris Reignites 50 Cent Feud During Heated Debate With DJ Vlad

Hurricane Chris says he’s a better rapper than 50 Cent and can put together a much better performance than him in Shreveport, Louisiana. He shared his hot take during an interview with DJ Vlad published over the weekend. It comes after he and 50 feuded over the Humor & Harmony Festival, earlier this year.

“You [50 Cent] cannot out rap me. You do not make better music than me right now,” he said. When Vlad referenced Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and labeled it a “classic,” Chris admitted it was a great project, but didn’t move from his stance. “Song making, he don’t make better songs than me,” he countered. “If 50 was to make a song right now and I make a song right now I’mma smash that s**t. I make music way better than 50 Cent. I know it’s a fact.”

From there, Chris brought up the idea of performing in Shreveport. “If we were to perform in Shreveport, I perform way longer than 50 and I would rock that s**t way harder than 50 or anybody who f**king came to Shreveport because I go back since I was 15 years old in high school,” he said. Chris recently feuded with 50 over his Humor & Harmony Festival, which took place in Shreveport. Chris was upset that 50 didn’t platform enough local artists despite using his hometown with no connection to it. In turn, he labeled him a “culture vulture.”

Hurricane Chris Speaks On 50 Cent

50 eventually fired back by suggesting the “A Bay Bay” rapper is a one-hit-wonder, sparking a back-and-forth on social media. Eventually, Chris admitted that the two were done beefing. 50 Cent x “Million Dollaz Worth Of Game”: Key Takeaways

50 Cent continues to reach new heights in his career with or without releasing new music. Beyond a catalog of timeless hits, he’s proven to be one of the most business savvy individuals in hip-hop. His foray into film and television has been fruitful, to say the least: several TV shows, movies, and most recently, the opening of his production studio in Shreveport, LA, where he hosted the Humor & Harmony festival.

The rapper recently joined Gillie and Wallo on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game during his festival and they surely lived up to the title. For nearly an hour, 50 Cent dropped gems that reflected his rise in hip-hop and his transition into the entertainment world as an executive. His journey into entering the rap game officially under Eminem and Dr. Dre’s tutelage to the inner workings of the television industry.

Fat Joe Beef Does 180

While the two have a shared history of animosity, things couldn’t be going any better between Fat Joe and 50 Cent. During his appearance on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, Fif explained that he and Fat Joe are practically best friends these days. It’s a 180 to when Fif and Joe went at it on wax and the effects rippled through the streets of New York and beyond. Ultimately, it was Joe’s allegiance to Murder Inc that caused their issues. “I didn’t f*ck with people because they had already dealt with them,” 50 explained. “The entire beginning of my career I was up against the leverage of Murder Inc. So, my whole beef with Fat Joe was really his loyalty.” He added, “Later we become the best friends, like I really f*ck with him,” 50 Cent admitted. “He’s loyal to a default, because he worked with him.”

What’s $1M To Dame Dash?

By now, we’ve seen the headlines surrounding Dame Dash and the debt he’s accumulated, upwards of $10 million. His financial situation comes as a shock, especially considering his contributions to hip-hop through Roc-A-Fella and other ventures. Always the business-minded hustler, he apparently didn’t have great things to say after 50 Cent inked a deal with Shady Records for $1M. In fact, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder apparently didn’t think that $1M was any money to begin with.

“The only person that pointed out a million dollars was no money was Damon Dash, and he has no money now,” 50 said. “How you gonna say that’s no money?” He recalled Dame telling him, “’After you get you a watch, chain, look out for the homies and then do this, then it’s nothing.” Naturally, this conversation resonated with 50 in ways that Dame Dash probably didn’t realize. “I’m from 134th Street. A million dollars is a lot of money. I think I hit the lotto. How are you gonna say that it’s no money? I just never forgot that because of how it felt.”

Since then, Dame has responded to Fif, claiming that they should have a “CEO War” between their respective networks. “Let’s do CEO war. You drop your television network today — you should be able to do that because you have power, you have the resources and you know, you’re getting money. And because I’m ‘broke,’ this should be easy work,” he said.

Nearly Signing Desiigner

An insightful moment in the interview that apparently warranted a response came as 50 Cent divulged how he nearly inked a deal with Desiigner prior to Kanye. At the time, Desiigner barely had a hit record to his name with “Panda” only beginning the bubble. However, 50 Cent comes from a time where record deals didn’t happen with the success of a single song, and apparently, Desiigner failed to have anything else to show for his talents. “I had him at the office. I was like, ‘Yo, let me hear the other records you got.’ And he’s like… ‘That’s it,’” he continued. “And the shit was so hot that he had, I was struggling. But I was like, ‘Nah, I can’t give that n***a that money. Let them give him whatever the f**k they gonna give him.’”

Desiigner later responded in the form of a diss track. In the snippet he previewed, he raps, “N***as talkin’ that 50 Cent, I be talking 50 mill/ N***as talkin’ that Timmy Turner, glad the n***a got killed / I got signed to Kanye, lil n***a, you was never worth a deal.” If we’re being honest, it’s hardly a diss nor is it something that someone like 50 Cent should even acknowledge.

Meeting Eminem

After years of grinding and getting blackballed from the industry, his deal with Eminem undoubtedly became what took him to astronomical heights. He explained that he felt like he was getting Punk’d by Ashton Kutcher because how unbelievable that experience was.

“He flew me to LA, right? I came out. I was so bugged out from the experience that I came through the airport with the vest and s**t on. I’m lucky I took the shock plate out the front of the joint. Because when I came through it didn’t. But the lawyer that I had with me that took me to him, I get there he’s like ‘Yo’ he felt the vest and s**t and was like,’” Fif said before mimicking Em’s reaction. “‘Yo this is going to be the biggest s**t right?’ He was so excited that it made me question whether what was happening was right ’cause I just wasn’t so used to it. It felt so good that it couldn’t be like right. I’m like ‘Yo, nah.’”

Ghost Was Supposed To Die In Power Season 4

Apparently, the way Power panned out wasn’t as initially planned. According to 50, Ghost was actually supposed to die at the same time as his character in season 4. “At the end of the day, Ghost was supposed to die when I died. I extended it… The problem with working with 50 Cent is, it’s 50 Cent’s show,” he said. This came after Omari Hardwick’s complaints of being underpaid, which many believed to be a dig at 50 Cent. However, Fif clarified that Hardwick messaged him later on and stated that it wasn’t the case. Ultimately, it was an issue with Starz.

50 Cent Addresses “Cheap Deal “Backlash To His Shreveport Studio

50 Cent is one of the most prolific, accomplished, and versatile hip-hop moguls we have today. Sure, much of that infamy these days attributes itself to his scathing takedowns of another rap mogul, Diddy, but don’t let that distract you from his film and television empire. Moreover, Fif recently caught flack from fans who accused him of opening a G-Unit production studio in Shreveport, Louisiana only for it being a “cheap deal.” While speaking to KMJJ’s Anthony “Big Ant” Simmons, he laughed off this idea and explained not only why he made the decision, but why the logic behind this argument is a deeply flawed one. No matter what side you stand on, it seems like G-Unit is staying in Louisiana. Nevertheless, they did consider Houston, as well.

“[Houston] embraced me. When I got out there, they showed me a lot of love,” 50 Cent shared. “But Shreveport had the infrastructure already here. Even the tax incentive. I’m spending $20 million this year anyway in the same building that they saying was the cheap building. So find somebody else to spend the $20 million…They don’t have anyone who has enough production going on for them to just offset that.”

50 Cent Refutes Claims That He Picked Shreveport For A Production Studio Due To Being Cheap

Also, Simmons praised 50 Cent’s commitment to filming 80 percent of all his productions in Shreveport as part of this deal. As they both noted, this would “eject a lot more money” into the city on top of the hype concerning pretty much any 50 project. However, this isn’t all that was criticized when it comes to G-Unit’s Louisiana presence. The Queens superstar actually went back and forth with Hurricane Chris over critiques of his Humor & Harmony Weekend Festival in the city.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent does have some defenders out there when it comes to these criticisms, including Fredo Bang. These are just the consequences of having such a wide media reach. But we’ll see if any future moves inspire a similar gut reaction or if people appreciate these moves more. After all, we have to see what this Shreveport studio produces in order to fully speak on it, and we’re excited to see what’s coming next.

50 Cent Fires Back After Luenell Calls Him Out For All-Male Comedy Fest Lineup

Earlier this month, 50 Cent hosted his Humor & Harmony Weekend festival in Shreveport, but Luenell was not impressed with the lineup. She weighed in during a recent interview, expressing her disappointment that female comedians weren’t included. “I want to say that the game is still so misogynistic because I just heard about this Comedy Festival that my dear friend 50 is having right now… and there were several comedians on the plane, but not one female comic. Not one,” she explained.

She also noted how important fair representation is, as people of all genders were in attendance. “How can you expect women, who buy a lot of tickets, to sit and listen to man after man after man after man after man?” she wondered. “The assumption is that men are funnier than women… but that’s the assumption that’s been perpetrated.”

50 Cent Claims Luenell Was Too Busy For Humor & Harmony Weekend

Luenell’s comments sparked a response from Fif, who took to Instagram earlier today to clear things up. According to him, it was not intentional, and he would have liked to include women in the lineup. He claims he was even interested in booking her, but he figured that her schedule was simply too busy. “Proof you can’t make everybody happy,” he wrote. “I love luenell’s work that’s why I had them put her in Ghost. We saw her big a** was booked already,🤨so we didn’t reach out. you think I didn’t want Monique, Sommore or Amy Schumer they on FIRE 🔥WTF 😤 @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

50 Cent Blame’s “Diddy’s” Key To NYC For Keith Sweat’s Possibly Virtual Event Appearance

In a couple of weeks, 50 Cent will host his Humor & Harmony Weekend in Shreveport, Louisiana. The event has been boasting several fellow celebrity guests, including Keith Sweat. Recently, however, Fif took to Instagram to reveal that Sweat offered to attend the event virtually via Zoom instead of in person. He wasn’t feeling this at all, and called Sweat out for “tripping.”

According to him, Sweat’s hesitation to attend in person stems from the fact that he won’t be attending an important event for him a few days before his own. On August 3, Sweat is scheduled to accept the Entertainer’s Key to New York City. Previously, Diddy held the key to the city, but it was revoked after footage of him assaulting Cassie surfaced online.

50 Cent Trolls Keith Sweat

“This [ninja] @keithsweat is tripping,” 50 Cent captioned the post. “He getting Diddy’s Key to the city Aug’s 3 They blocking off streets in Harlem for him. Now if he don’t show up in Shreveport, we ain’t f*cking with him no more. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.” This prompted a response from Sweat, who took the opportunity to look back on Fif’s 1999 track “How to Rob,” in which he jokes about robbing him. “Hey Fif I gotta respond to you I’m definitely not coming to Shreveport now,” he wrote.

“I just remember you said this about me back in the day. I’ll see y’all in NYC Aug 3rd when I get to the key to the city. You need to be there with me and everything is squashed,” Sweat also added. Shortly after, 50 Cent replied, demanding that Sweat attend the event. “Oh no, I was tripping when I wrote that, yo a** better be in Shreveport [ninja],” he said. “We need that grown and sexy sh*t ! @keithsweat stop playing get your a** on da jet man.” What do you think of 50 Cent trolling Keith Sweat? 50 Cent Reveals Why Diddy Is Not Welcome In Shreveport

It’s no secret that Diddy’s currently dealing with his fair share of legal issues, including several lawsuits and a federal human trafficking investigation. The Bad Boy Records founder is accused of sexual assault, abuse, and more. This has unsurprisingly earned him a great deal of backlash online. One person who hasn’t backed down since the beginning is 50 Cent. He’s been hard at work trolling Diddy with shady social media posts, and earlier today was no exception.

He took to Instagram to share a clip of himself joking that Diddy is coming to Shreveport. “You’re not gonna believe this, but I just got a call and Puffy’s confirmed for Shreveport,” he said. “It’s lit!” 50 Cent quickly made it clear that he wasn’t serious, claiming that the mogul is not welcome in the city. “Puffy’s not confirmed 🚷😆fvck it he not welcome !” he captioned the post.

50 Cent Continues To Make Fun Of Diddy

“He can’t come,” he also said, laughing. “Everybody be scared to drink… Wake up, your butt sore.” Fans aren’t exactly surprised that 50 Cent doesn’t want Diddy anywhere near Shreveport, as that’s where he launched G-Unit Studios back in April. It’s also far from the first shady joke he’s made about Diddy in recent months, though he hasn’t been the only peer on his radar as of late.

Fif’s also been clowning Rick Ross for getting beat up in Vancouver a couple of weeks back, revisiting their longstanding feud. He visited Canada for his birthday following the incident and made several jokes about the viral altercation onstage. Ross has yet to respond and previously insisted that he walked away from the fight unscathed. What do you think of 50 Cent continuing to troll Diddy amid his allegations? Are you surprised or not? 50 Cent Takes Fans Behind-The-Scenes Of His New Studio In Shreveport

For many rap fans, the most notable thing 50 Cent has done in 2024 is post on Instagram. The veteran rapper makes posts about all kinds of things but across the past 6 months or so he’s honed in on one particular topic, Diddy. The rap mogul has had a rough year as years’ worth of allegations have been made against him by former collaborators and romantic partners. In addition to the allegations, he’s also under investigation by the federal government. They raided two of his properties in Miami and Los Angeles back in March alerting the public to the investigation in the process.

The entire time 50 has rarely gone more than a day or two without posting about Diddy. The posts have come in a variety of different forms. They’ve featured everything from videos of people making allegations about Diddy to old photos of various celebrities alongside him, updates on his pending documentary about the situation and even AI-generated images. His attacks have also extended to almost anyone else mentioned in any of the lawsuits. In particular he took aim at Meek Mill because of his inclusion in Lil Rod’s highly-contested suit against Diddy. But now he’s shifting focus to use his Instagram for a different kind of post. Check out what he shared below.

50 Cent Pushing For Second Shreveport Development Following G-Unit Studios

In recent months, much of the news surrounding 50 Cent has been from his relentless Instagram trolling campaign. He was one of the first to start taking shots at Diddy last year when the first lawsuit against him filed by Cassie broke. Unsurprisingly, he’s continued his trolling throughout the controversial Lil Rod lawsuit and the rap mogul’s homes being raided. That campaign has included just about any “evidence” 50 can find including inmate recordings and AI-generated images. He’s also taken shots at almost anyone who comes up in the story, for which he’s been threatened with violence.

But now he’s trying to expand a different project he started last year. According to AllHipHop, he opened up G-Unit studios in Shreveport earlier this month following approval granted last year. Part of the celebration even included the town labeling it’s opening day, April 18, as 50 Cent day. “Through the expansion of G-Unit in Shreveport, my aim is to embody the spirit of conscious capitalism to focus on creating jobs, stimulating commerce and contributing to the economic growth of this vibrant community. I envision [making] Shreveport a beacon of the entertainment industry,” he said during the launch of the studio. Now he has even more ambitions for the area. Check out his newest plans below.

50 Cent Looking To Add To G-Unit Studio

His next proposal to the city centers around a sports and entertainment complex. He’s proposing turning the Expo Hall into the new G-Unit sponsored complex and has some ambitious goals for it. The pitch includes mentions of professional basketball outings, a variety of other sports including boxing and MMA lineups. But the center can also host concerts and a variety of expos and conventions. The same city council that approved the last building will also vote on this one.

What do you think of 50 Cent looking to expand his reach in Shreveport after opening G-Unit Studios earlier this month? Do you think the city will also approve a sports and entertainment complex? Let us know in the comment section below.
