JT Defends Sexyy Red After Her Sex Tape Leaks

Yesterday fans were shocked to find that Sexyy Red’s Instagram had been hacked. The way they found out was when her sex tape was briefly uploaded to her Instagram story and the events caught fire online from there. Red herself was quick to respond expressing her disappointment in what happened and making sure fans knew it wasn’t her doing. “I’m so heartbroken anybody that kno me knows I wouldn’t do no goofy sht like that,” she said in a tweet yesterday.

It didn’t take long for many online to respond to the incident. DJ Akademiks was uncharacteristically sympathetic. He offered some advice in a tweet complimenting her for how down to earth she is but insisting she improve her choice in men. City Girls rapper JT also chimed in showing support for Red. “Girl you know you sexyy!! gone do yo sh*t, f*ck what these ho’s talkin bout you know you that b*tch,” she said in a quote tweet to Red’s original response. Overnight Drake dropped his highly anticipated new album For All The Dogs. Late in the tracklist is the dancy cut “Rich Baby Daddy” which featured both SZA and Sexyy Red. Red handles quite a bit of the song as well with two full verses and the chorus coming courtesy of her. It’s just one appearance in an absolutely stacked feature list for the project.

Sexyy Red has been releasing quite a bit of music recently. Earlier this week she dropped the music video for her new song “No Panties.” The video was about what you’d expect. Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’: Here Are All The Features And Producers On The Album

The journey toward Drake’s For All The Dogs lasted a bit longer than expected. After announcing it over the summer during his It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage, rumor had it that the project would initially arrive on August 25. However, that day came and went without its release and Lil Yachty blamed fans for believing a date that was not announced by Drake himself. Well, Drake later announced an official release date of September 22 for For All The Dogs, but he was later forced to delay it to October 6, in order to complete the project and not cancel any tour dates to do so.

At long last, as promised, Drake delivered For All The Dogs on October 6. It was made available to stream at 6am EST as opposed to the traditional time of 12am EST, but nonetheless, the album is here. It features 23 songs and appearances from Teezo Touchdown, 21 Savage, J. Ebro’s never been one to shy away from hot takes and controversial conversations, but his most recent example of that is harder to stomach than most for some fans online. Moreover, he recently reacted to the news that Sexyy Red’s sex tape leaked on her Instagram Story with a pretty heated take. “Sad Sexyy Red is hurt by the [sex] tape leak, but it is actually on brand based on the music. Still terrible tho,” the radio host wrote on Twitter. “This is like saying ‘she got r*ped because she wore a mini skirt’ you’re a weirdo Ebro!” a user replied to him on the social media platform.

“Huh?” Ebro clapped back. “Revenge p*rn is terrible. Her raps are p*rn rap. Both can be true.” While the promiscuity of the St. Louis native’s music and public persona is certainly an important aspect of her image, it also holds weight because of her agency in these matters. As such, Sexyy Red’s antics or open-book nature when it comes to sexual matters shouldn’t justify something like this happening. Of course, that’s not what the media personality meant to suggest, but it’s still a link that displeased many fans.

Meanwhile, Sexyy Red herself issued a response to this scandal shortly after it started to make rounds on the Internet. “I’m so heartbroken anybody that kno me knows I wouldn’t do no goofy s**t like that,” the 25-year-old expressed on Twitter. Many fans expressed their condolences in the apparent revenge p*rn case, but that didn’t stop others from weighing in unprompted. The most recent example of that is DJ Akademiks, who tried to give her some advice in terms of how she could overcome this.

“Sexyy red gotta stop f***ing broke bums wit nothing to lose,” he tweeted. “How every n***a she wit desperately tryna let the world know they smashin her. I love how down to earth she is but it’s bout time she leave these n***as wit ankle monitors on .. in they momma houses where they belong. Sexyy is linking up with veteran rappers in photos and in the studio for collaborations. You can find her on tracks with Nicki Minaj, Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Young Nudy, Latto, and plenty of other trap legends. Over the past couple of weeks, she shared some more boisterous bangers that could rival her biggest hit so far, “SkeeYee.”

One of the two most recent singles is “Shake Yo Dreads.” People are already making TikTok’s and Instagram reels with the song and they are gaining traction. Then, just a few days later, she uploaded a track to be featured on the mixtape for Rap Sh!t S2. The St. Louis native was recently tapped to contribute the sexy single “No Panties” to the soundtrack for season two of Rap Sh!t after capitalizing in a big way on the success of her breakout hit “Pound Town.” She returns to her eyebrow-raising raunchy ways in the video for “No Panties,” running a variety of sex-themed businesses, including a massage parlor and a car wash.

Sexyy Red has been creating controversy almost since she first appeared on the scene with her Vanessa Carlton-sampling viral single “Ah Thousand Jugs.” When she released “Pound Town” and “Born By The River,” listeners on Twitter were quick to express as much exasperation with her ratchet ways as interest and appreciation for her over-the-top explicit content. “At first I don’t think people was f**king with him,” Sexxy Red said. “They thought he was racist, saying little sh*t against women. But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Aw baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office.”

The free money Sexxy Red refers to are stimulus checks during the pandemic, which Trump was known to have stamped his signature on.
