Boosie Badazz Wins $21K Settlement After Suing Florida Nightclub

Boosie Badazz has been on a lucky streak as of late, and fortunately for him, it doesn’t seem to show any signs of slowing down. Earlier this month, he saw a happy ending in his longwinded legal battle over a federal gun charge. A California judge dismissed the case, meaning that he’s finally off the hook. He got emotional about the verdict on Instagram, thanking god and sharing big plans for the future.

Now, he’s won a settlement after suing the Fort Myers, Florida nightclub Celsius. Allegedly, the nightclub played his music without having an ASCAP license. As a result, Boosie is now $21K richer, and his music can no longer be played in the club unless they secure the proper license.

Boosie has yet to comment on this particular case, as he’s surely been distracted by the dismissal of his federal gun charge. After all, it limited his ability to travel, forced him to wear an ankle monitor, and more. Amid the celebration, however, there has been some suspicion surrounding how exactly Boosie got off. Some have even speculated that he “snitched” on someone else in order to walk free. He vehemently denies this and insists that there wasn’t anyone he could have snitched on. He addressed the rumors during a recent interview with VladTV, claiming that they don’t even make sense.

“Four people got caught, I’m the only one that got charged,” he told Vlad with a laugh. “Who the f*ck imma tell on? That sh*t cr*zy.” What do you think of Boosie Badazz winning a $21K settlement after suing a Florida nightclub for playing his music without the proper license? What about all of the legal luck he’s been running into as of late? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Shyne Criticized For Not Paying Off Settlement To 1999 Shooting Victim

Shyne’s career was permanently disrupted in 1999. The rapper and heir apparent to Biggie was arrested and sentenced to a decade in prison for shooting a woman named Natania Reuben. Shyne has continued to release music, but his legacy is defined by this incident. Calling it a complicated legacy, however, is an understatement. Reuben claims that Shyne did not actually shoot her, but won a settlement against the rapper for his involvement in the incident. A settlement that he’s apparently yet to pay.

Natania Reuben blasted Shyne during an interview on The Art of Dialogue. She not only called the rapper names, but declared that he still owed her money. “Shyne did not shoot me because he didn’t, but Shyne is a con artist,” she claimed. “Everybody’s like, ‘Oh, we know Shyne was innocent.’ No, you don’t know… Because he’s far from innocent.” The concept that Shyne is “innocent” is something the rapper has been quick to put forth after his release. He told Chanel 5 Belize that he took the fall for artists who were more powerful than him. Reuben dismissed this narrative as being the rapper’s attempt at political power in his native country.

Shyne Has Maintained His Innocence In The Shooting

“He’s going to jockey off of me,” the shooting victim asserted. “Saying Shyne didn’t shoot me to try to leverage himself to get that prime minister seat. You ain’t nothing but a penny Annie Shyer, a shady car salesman, a dressed-up fraud, a liar.” Worse, still, according to Reuben, the rapper has yet to make good on his financial responsibilities. The victim claimed that the rapper is driving a Maybach around Belize, yet has not paid her what she is owed. “You still owe me money,” Reuben added. “In the settlement, Shyne was responsible… He didn’t have the money to pay [then].”

Natania Reuben was paid $1.8M by Diddy, however, after the incident. It was a sizable amount, but it also prompted decades of alleged harassment against Reuben at the mogul’s behest. The victim claimed that Diddy flattened the tires on her vehicle on several occasions. “Not only did he pew pew me in the face,” she stated. “He also set off a course of harassment against me for the past 24 years.” Diddy has repeatedly denied these claims.

Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert Finalize Divorce With Seven-Figure Settlement

Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s divorce process took some bumps along the road, but according to a new report from the Jasmine Brand, they have now finalized their settlement. A Fulton County judge oversaw the process, which began in a private filing on Taylor’s behalf back in 2023 after seven years of marriage with two daughters. Moreover, in the judge’s ruling, they divided many of their assets and outlined child support terms. However, it’s also important to note that, at press time, neither has publicly commented on the latest developments in court.

Nevertheless, this new ruling from the judge includes a one-time, seven-figure payment from Iman Shumpert to Teyana Taylor. In addition, the singer will reportedly keep four marital properties with an approximate $10 million value as assets from their shared estate. On the other hand, the former NBA star will keep a Miami condo and his compounds in South Georgia and Decatur. As for child support, Shumpert will pay $8,000 a month and cover private school fees for their daughters, and it seems like both kept most of their personal assets like cars and jewelry, such as Taylor’s Bronco truck.

Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert Finalize Their Divorce Settlement

Another aspect of the settlement concerns Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s business ventures, such as the former’s Taylormade and Auntie’s companies and the latter’s undisclosed investments. While all this has probably been a pretty stressful and difficult affair, the two are still publicly amicable with each other. Sure, this has led to some online interactions being even more prone the watchful eye of the gossip train, such as thirsty IG comments. But we can’t really know what’s going on, and we don’t know if they will ever address it specifically in the future.

Meanwhile, according to Teyana Taylor, there have been misleading reports on this in the past, so take this with a grain of salt as always. More likely than not, they finalized their divorce and can now move on into a new phase of their lives, which could surely be its own saga. What do you think about this whole situation? Let us know in the comments and come back to HNHH for more updates.

Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert Face Rapid Deadline To Finalize Their Divorce Agreement

A judge has reportedly ordered Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert to finalize their divorce settlement in writing by noon on June 27, according to legal documents reportedly obtained by TMZ. If they fail to meet this deadline, then the judge will remove the case from the docket, although they will still have a chance to start the process over if this is the case. Moreover, the former couple was in court on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday this week to discuss some unresolved issues which they have yet to put in writing. These include a final judgement, a parenting plan, and child support addendums and worksheets.

Furthermore, this legal development in court comes amid some interesting social media reactions between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert. For example, Shumpert recently commented on Taylor’s post about her Met Gala fit, praising her looks while also suggesting that she doesn’t need him to tell her that to know it for herself. It seems like this whole process has some murkier allegations behind the scenes, such as disagreements over money, cutting off utilities, and the former basketball player supposedly taking care of their kids while under the influence. But in the public eye, they’ve kept things quite civil.

However, other Internet happenings concerning Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert roped in other couples into the mix. Recently, YG caught flack from fans for commenting under Taylor’s Instagram post despite being with Saweetie. It wasn’t even a particularly thirsty comment or anything like that, but it was still enough to cause a bit of a social media stir. For what it’s worth, neither her nor Shumpert have publicly entered another big relationship since news of their split broke.

Meanwhile, Teyana Taylor did receive some new updates in the rumor mill thanks to dating rumors around Leonardo DiCaprio. That didn’t go anywhere, though, so don’t expect another celebrity power couple to emerge anytime soon. Regardless, hopefully this settlement deadline means that the former duo is close to reaching an amicable resolution to this phase of their lives. If not, then it looks like there’s still a chance for them to try again.

Kanye West & Donna Summer’s Estate Finalize Settlement Over Allegedly Unauthorized Sample

Back in February, Kanye West was sued by the late Donna Summer’s estate for allegedly sampling her single “I Feel Love” on Vultures 1 without permission. The suit came after the estate called Ye out earlier that month. They alleged that while he did ask for permission to sample the song, it was denied. They accused him of doing it anyway, prompting the legal battle.

“Summer’s estate … wanted no association with West’s controversial history and specifically rejected West’s proposed use,” her attorneys explained. “In the face of this rejection, defendants arrogantly and unilaterally decided they would simply steal ‘I Feel Love’ and use it without permission.” Last month, it was revealed that they were in the process of finalizing a settlement. Now, it appears that the case has been resolved.

According to court documents obtained by Billboard, both parties have “entered into a settlement agreement that is a full and final settlement of all of the claims in the action.” Neither of them has revealed further details of the settlement at the time of writing. It remains unclear whether or not this means Ye’s track “Good (Don’t Die)” will be available to purchase or stream again anytime soon.

Hopefully, Ye learned his lesson and will be sure to secure the permission necessary to sample other artists in the future. After all, according to Ty Dolla Sign, Vultures 2 is “almost done and could be released any day now.” What do you think of Kanye West and Donna Summer’s estate finalizing their settlement? Trey Songz Settles $25M Lawsuit Over Alleged 2016 Sexual Assault

In February of last year, Trey Songz was hit with a lawsuit from an anonymous woman accusing him of sexual assault. The woman, going by Jane Joe, claimed that she attended a house party with the performer back in 2016 after meeting him at a nightclub in Los Angeles. The evening took a turn for the worse when Trey Songz invited her upstairs, where the alleged sexual assault took place. Atlantic Records, Trey Songz’s manager Kevin Lilies, and 300 Entertainment were also named as defendants in her suit.

Reportedly, they’ve now settled, though the amount has not been disclosed. Initially, the alleged victim was seeking $25 million for the mental and emotional distress of the incident. They were scheduled to appear in court for a hearing in September, which has been vacated due to the settlement. “The settlement agreement conditions dismissal of this matter on the satisfactory completion of specified terms that are not to be performed within 45 days of the date of the settlement. A request for dismissal will be filed no later than June 10, 2024,” the legal docs reportedly state.

It remains unclear whether or not Trey Songz admitted guilt as a condition of the settlement, but last year, he denied the accusations on social media. “Lies will never be the truth,” he wrote in an Instagram Story. “No matter who chooses to believe such.” Sadly, this isn’t the first woman to have accused Trey Songz of assault, however. Just last month, Winter Blanco came forward on an episode of Behind The Likes to accuse him of assaulting her in 2018. She revealed that she chose to stay silent for the sake of her career.

“I’m tired of letting abusers get away with so much sh*t,” she explained at the time. “I was not going to ever talk about it because I was still trying to do music.” What do you think of Trey Songz settling his $25M lawsuit? R. Kelly Sues Prison Bureau For Seizing Of His Commissary Funds

R. Kelly is suing the United States government in an attempt to get his commissary funds back. The case stems from a March 2023 ruling, in which the Illinois Supreme Court decided Heather Williams was entitled to access the disgraced singer’s funds. “The defendant is appealing his conviction and the government’s seizure of his substantial Bureau of Prisons commissary account to satisfy the financial penalties imposed in the case,” an announcement of the lawsuit caught by HipHopDX reportedly read. Assistant United States Attorney Kayla Bensing will represent the United States in the matter.

Kelly has faced countless sexual misconduct allegations over the years. In 2021, he was convicted under the Mann Act and for racketeering while a year later, he was convicted for three child pornography charges and three charges of enticing a minor. Kelly’s currently serving a 31-year sentence at FCI Butner Medium I. He’s due for release on December 21, 2045, at the age of 78.

Back in January, Kelly claimed he wasn’t aware that he had lost a $10.5 million lawsuit back in August of 2023. He mentioned facing a high number of cases and switching legal teams as potential reasons for the slip up. In a statement, his attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, said to XXL: “We are absolutely pushing back on the $10.5 million default judgment that was entered against him without notice and without a sound legal justification. It would be simplistic and silly to write that the basis for our motion to vacate the windfall judgment relates solely to his illiteracy (although he is in fact functionally illiterate per formalized testing). The more significant problem is that there was no legal basis to enter the default judgment on the merits.”

Don Lemon Nets $24.5 Million To Settle CNN Firing: Report

Don Lemon has reportedly reached an agreement with CNN to settle his firing from the company. In turn, the network will pay out the remainder of his contract dating three-and-a-half years from the time of his firing. The deal lands him $24.5 million total.

Lemon spent 17 years with CNN before his firing. He had been facing backlash for comments he made about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley at the time. Appearing on CNN This Morning, Lemon remarked that Haley is “past her prime.” He later apologized and “agreed to participate in formal training.” Two months later, he was out from the network.

“I am stunned after 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have the decency to tell me directly,” Lemon wrote on social media at the time. “At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.” Afterward, CNN’s public relations team released its own statement, claiming the former anchor misrepresented what went down. “Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate,” the CNN Communications account tweeted. “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”

The settlement with CNN comes as Lemon is preparing to launch The Don Lemon Show on X in the coming weeks. That move follows in the footsteps of Tucker Carlson who similarly launched his own series on the platform after being let go from Fox in 2023. Biggie Smalls’ Estate Reaches Settlement In World Trade Center Pictures Lawsuit

Some of the most iconic pictures in hip-hop history unsurprisingly belong to one of the genre’s most iconic figures. Moreover, fans of any generation likely know the photos of Biggie Smalls with the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers as their backdrop. Photographer Chi Modu took them in 1996, and said that his lyrics on the song “Juicy” referencing the Towers partly inspired the shoot in Jersey City, New Jersey. However, a 2019 lawsuit from Big’s estate claimed that Modu illegaly licensed the snaps for sold products without respecting his rights. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2021, and thus, the battle turned to estate versus estate.

Furthermore, Billboard reports that Staci Jennifer Trager -– Biggie’s estate’s legal representative in this case -– announced a settlement on Thursday (January 18). While its details are unknown at press time, she explained that the rapper’s children and Modu’s widow came to an agreement. “Pictures of Christopher cannot be commercially exploited without a license from our client,” Trager reportedly remarked to the outlet. “The settlement agreement is a testament to the dedication of our client as well as our team members in staying the course over several years.”

Biggie Smalls’ World Trade Center Photos

As such, it seems like Modu’s estate will still be able to sell physical and digital prints of the pictures. However, they will not be able to use the images for other products, as suggested by the explanation of the settlement. Of course, this joins a long list of other “legacy items” that the hip-hop community treasures, especially for such an influential and impactful late legend. For example, Biggie’s autographed arrest fingerprints, and those of Tupac Shakur, went on sale for $225K last year.

Meanwhile, as the West Coast icon’s murder case develops with the arrest of alleged culprit Keefe D, folks also claim that the Brooklyn MC’s death is connected. That emerged as a speculative theory long ago, and the mystery that surrounds both cases makes judging it a tough call. Regardless, this settlement shows that his legacy will live on in respectful ways if his estate gets their word in. For more news and the latest updates on Biggie Smalls, stay up to date on HNHH.
