Reality Stars Who Sued Bravo TV In Recent Years

Behind the glitz and glamor of Bravo TV’s popular reality shows are a couple of lawsuits. The darker side of reality TV has, on numerous occasions, led several stars to take legal action against the network that catapulted them to fame. Over the years, Bravo has faced its fair share of legal battles with its cast members. From contractual disputes to allegations of harassment and wrongful termination, these lawsuits shed light on the controversies inherent in reality TV. The Real Housewives of New York’s Leah McSweeney is the latest in the number of reality TV stars with lawsuits against Bravo, alongside these others.

NeNe Leakes (The Real Housewives Of Atlanta)

In 2022, NeNe Leakes filed lawsuits against NBCUniversal and Bravo TV. She also filed against executive producer Andy Cohen. Leakes cited a hostile and racially discriminatory working environment as her reasons. After her tenure on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she also claimed that the organization’s corporate hierarchy was deficient in diversity. Therefore, it fostered insensitivity towards individuals of Color. She further stated that the Real Housewives franchise is marked by racial segregation. Finally, she criticized the treatment of diverse cast members on the show. Leakes dismissed the lawsuits later that year, but it remains one of the most popular cases against Bravo.

Caroline Manzo (The Real Housewives Of New Jersey)

In January 2023, reports emerged indicating the departure of Brandi Glanville and Caroline Manzo from Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip. Allegedly, Glanville crossed boundaries at a party by repeatedly kissing Manzo without her consent. Fast forward a year later, and Manzo filed lawsuits against Bravo TV, its personnel, and affiliated companies related to the incident. Manzo’s lawsuit alleges that the network has a practice of providing the Real Housewives cast with alcohol, inducing severe intoxication. Therefore, sexual harassment among cast members was promoted and promised, all purportedly for the sake of ratings.

Mariah Huq (Married To Medicine)

In 2021, Mariah Huq filed a lawsuit against Bravo, alleging discrimination. Moreover, she asserted that the network withheld her due royalties. Huq, who is recognized not only as the leading lady on her reality series but also credited as its creator and an executive producer on Bravo’s official website, took legal action against Purveyors of Pop, Bravo TV, NBC, and Fremantle. In her lawsuit, she contended that they engaged in “illegal and unethical” practices. These included, but were not limited to, violations of contractual agreements. Other practices include harassment and the unauthorized exploitation of Married to Medicine & Married to Medicine: the Series.

Brandi Glanville (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills)

While Brandi Glanville has yet to file a lawsuit against Bravo TV, she did threaten to take legal action against the network and its executive producer, Andy Cohen. Glanville’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, sent a letter to NBC Universal, Shed Media, and Shed’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery. It was alleged that Andy Cohen, in an “inebriated” state, had sent her a video message. He reportedly expressed his intention to spend the night with another Bravo star while thinking of her and invited her to witness the encounter via Facetime. The letter further asserted that Glanville felt both “trapped” and “disgusted” by the nature of Cohen’s communication. Following the letter being disclosed, Cohen released a statement clarifying that the video was intended as a joke directed at Glanville.

Leah McSweeney (The Real Housewives Of New York)

Leah McSweeney, a former Real Housewives of New York City cast member, filed lawsuits against Bravo and Andy Cohen. In a strongly worded legal filing, she alleged that the show achieved its highest-ever audience ratings through an infamous episode titled Scary Island. In this episode, one of the stars appeared to exhibit confusion, irrational behavior, and a detachment from reality. She asserted that they deliberately exploited her struggles with alcohol in a calculated effort to turn her suffering into record-breaking ratings. According to Page Six, the network and its producers not only made alcohol available to her but encouraged her to drink. Last year, she sued the network for discrimination.

Rihanna’s Aspen Vacation Highlights Include “Real Housewives” Run-In & Gift From Kyle Richards

Rihanna is easily one of the biggest celebrities in the world, but that doesn’t mean she never gets starstruck when crossing paths with others in the limelight. It’s no secret that the mother of two is a fan of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchises, and during her ongoing vacation in Aspen with ASAP Rocky and their sons, she was fortunate enough to cross paths with Kyle Richards. The Halloween actress is a regular on the Beverly Hills edition of the show, and she happened to be shopping at the same private room in Kemo Sabe with Rih and the Mayers boys on Thursday (December 28).

According to TMZ, the reality starlet was with her daughters and estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, during her unexpected run-in with the Bad Gal. When Richards overheard an employee mention that Rihanna was in the building, she took a chance and asked for an introduction, to which the latter reportedly said, “F**k yes!” Their families spent some time mingling together, and after, Kyle came through with a late Christmas gift for her new friends.

The RHOBH cast member was kind enough to spend nearly $900 on a turquoise beaver hat, which is sure to bring a fun pop of colour to some of Rih’s future fits. According to an insider, the “Umbrella” singer only made a visit to the store because she previously saw Richards shop there on TV. Besides her gift, the Barbadian beauty also left with new boots, belts, and hats to spice up her wardrobe.

Rihanna’s been continuing on her trend of being a worldwide “Fashion Killa” in Aspen, but we would expect nothing less of her. When cameras first caught her and ASAP Rocky on their holiday trip, we were pleased to see the happy couple rocking matching shoes to coordinate ther outfits. Emimen Gets Response From “Real Housewives” Stars Over Copyright Deposition Request

Eminem’s had his fair share of legal battles over the years, but his latest might be one of his most bizarre yet. Moreover, he sought to block a trademark application from Real Housewives guests Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon for their podcast Reasonably Shady, as it conflicts with his Slim Shady alter ego. However, it seems like Marshall Mathers wants only his legal team to handle this, as when the Real Housewives of Potomac stars filed to deposition him, he motioned for a protective order against it. This is because he apparently has little information about this legal process and its context, to which Bryant and Dixon responded to via their lawyer, Andrea Evans.

“It seems obvious to us that if you file a lawsuit, you should be made available to be deposed,” she told PEOPLE of Eminem’s legal filing. “[We would like to question Mathers at least about his use of the expressions Slim Shady and Shady. It’s unclear to us that Mathers can be the owner of the trademarks and file this suit against our clients but he will not make himself available to be deposed.

“Opposer’s Motion to Compel the deposition of Mathers is also premature and unwarranted,” Eminem’s lawyer expressed. “Despite Opposer’s expression that the deposition would be both duplicative and unduly burdensome given Mathers’ limited knowledge of the subjects at issue, his absence of unique knowledge of the subjects at issue and others’ superior knowledge of said issues, Applicants have made no attempt to obtain the discovery they seek via more convenient and less burdensome means.

“Opposer has offered to produce three other individuals having equal and superior knowledge to Mathers on the relevant topics,” he went on. “However, without making any attempt to assess whether they will be able to obtain the relevant information from said individuals, and having taken no depositions to date, Applicants remain insistent on deposing Mathers, a high-level and removed decision maker. Accordingly, Applicants’ Motion to Compel should be denied. Opposer asks this Board to issue a protective order precluding the deposition of Marshall Mathers III.” For more news and the latest updates on Eminem, come back to HNHH.

Eminem Is Reportedly Seeking A Protective Order From Two ‘Real Housewives’ Over A Trademark Dispute

In the latest update of Eminem’s trademark dispute with The Real Housewives Of Potomac stars Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, the rapper has reportedly filed a protective order against the reality stars.

He first filed the dispute over Bryant and Dixon calling their podcast Reasonably Shady back in February, as he wanted to stop the duo from trademarking it, claiming it would “cause confusion in the minds of consumers.” Since then, the case has kept going.

Dixon and Bryant requested in October that Eminem (Marshall Mathers) would appear for an in-person deposition, which prompted him to seek a protective order. He claimed, according to People Magazine, that it would be “unduly burdensome” to participate in a deposition due to his “limited knowledge of the subjects at issue.”

Instead, he suggested others who could appear in his place, including his manager, Paul Rosenberg. Dixon and Bryant’s lawyer, Andrea Evans, responded to the publication for comment on the matter.

“It seems obvious to us that if you file a lawsuit, you should be made available to be deposed,” Evans shared, and that they would “like to question Mathers at least about his use of the expressions Slim Shady and Shady.”

“It’s unclear to us that Mathers can be the owner of the trademarks and file this suit against our clients but he will not make himself available to be deposed,” she added.

As of right now, it doesn’t seem like the dispute will end any time soon.

Eminem Requests Protective Order Amid “Real Housewives” Trademark Battle

In February of this year, Eminem moved to block a trademark application from Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon. The two Real Housewives cast members host a podcast called Reasonably Shady. According to “the real Slim Shady,” trademarking the name of their podcast would make confusion “unavoidable.”

Recently, according to legal documents obtained by AllHipHop, Bryant and Dixon filed a motion to compel him for a deposition. In response, Eminem requested a protective order, and argued that a deposition is “unwarranted.” His legal team claims that the rapper has “limited knowledge” of the matter at hand. They also say that there are far more qualified individuals available to answer their questions.

“Opposer’s Motion to Compel the deposition of Mathers is also premature and unwarranted because, despite Opposer’s expression that the deposition would be both duplicative and unduly burdensome given Mathers’ limited knowledge of the subjects at issue, his absence of unique knowledge of the subjects at issue and others’ superior knowledge of said issues, Applicants have made no attempt to obtain the discovery they seek via more convenient and less burdensome means,” his lawyer writes.

“Opposer has offered to produce three other individuals having equal and superior knowledge to Mathers on the relevant topics,” he continues. “However, without making any attempt to assess whether they will be able to obtain the relevant information from said individuals, and having taken no depositions to date, Applicants remain insistent on deposing Mathers, a high-level and removed decision maker. Accordingly, Applicants’ Motion to Compel should be denied and … Opposer asks this Board to issue a protective order precluding the deposition of Marshall Mathers III.” What do you think of Real Housewives Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon attempting to depose Eminem? Ramona Singer Racism Allegations Grow With Problematic Language: “The Word I Used Was N-Word”

The Real Housewives cast members are best known for getting caught up in drama of all sorts. This time around, it’s Ramona Singer who’s feeling the heat. The starlet appears in the New York City edition of the popular reality series. Earlier this month Vanity Fair exposed her allegedly racist behaviour toward a Black member of the production team. Fellow housewives Eboni K. Williams and Lean McSweeney spoke to the outlet about their experiences working with Singer.

The former, who became the first Black woman cast in the franchise just a few years ago, claims that the blonde told her “most” Black people don’t have present fathers. To make matters worse, the comment came out during a training call with two racial justice representatives. A publicist from Bravo and a communications expert from NBCUniversal were also there. According to Williams, Singer preceded her troubling statement by asking, “What if they don’t have a father? Why can’t I say that?”

As reactions to the concerning allegations fly, Page Six has an update from the 66-year-old, who unsuccessfully attempted to clear her name via text. “The word I used was ‘N-Word,’ not n*g…,” Singer reportedly wrote to one of the publication’s journalists amid the backlash she’s been facing. Aside from that brief message, the East Coast native promised that she’ll return with a “full statement” for the media at a later time.

The world of reality TV seems to be plagued with a growing amount of racial tension lately. Besides the ongoing scandal with Ramona Singer, we also witnessed Erica Mena’s fall from grace in the summer after she was put on blast for calling Spice a “blue monkey” on Love & Hip Hop. Shannon Beador Net Worth 2023: What Is The “RHOC” Star Worth?

With its picturesque views and excessive lifestyles, Orange County has been the backdrop for many a drama. Yet among its stars, Shannon Beador has emerged as one of its most genuine and affluent figures. Beneath the layers of reality TV storylines and glamorous events, there’s a tale of ambition, resilience, and savvy business decisions. The fusion of these elements has led to Shannon Beador boasting a net worth of $20 million by 2023, as noted by Celebrity Net Worth.

Birthed Among The Elite, Nurtured By Ambition

Shannon Storms Beador grew up with the privilege of Orange County’s elite, but her relentless drive and authenticity have stood out. An alumnus of the University of Southern California, her early life was not particularly public. It was her marriage to David Beador, a successful entrepreneur, that began her foray into the limelight, but it would be a mistake to see her worth merely as an appendage of this union.

Unscripted Drama, Real Success

Shannon’s entry into the Real Housewives of Orange County in its ninth season was more than just a stint on reality TV. It was a masterclass in leveraging personal brand value. Fans and critics alike have watched her navigate friendships, feuds, and personal struggles. Yet, despite the on-screen volatility, Shannon has capitalized on her fame off-screen. From her QVC food line, Real for Real Cuisine, to her recent ventures in the health and wellness space, she’s turned her narratives into business opportunities.

Away from the spotlight, Shannon is first and foremost a mother to her three daughters. Her journey has not been without its bumps—her publicized divorce from David Beador being a significant one. Further, her RHOC drama was plentiful. Shannon’s marriage issues and subsequent divorce played out for the world. Additionally, her struggles with alcohol were detailed in the series. In September 2023, Beador was arrested for a DUI and hit-and-run accident.

Still, she’s managed to turn even such challenges into platforms of growth and learning. Her advocacy for holistic living isn’t just for the cameras. It’s also a personal ethos rooted in her belief in organic foods and a toxin-free environment.

Shannon’s business ventures are not limited to what fans see on TV. Her restaurant in Newport Beach, Shannon’s Patio, offers a culinary experience inspired by her own food line. Moreover, she’s also ventured into the fashion industry with a line of jewelry and accessories. Philanthropically, she’s been known to support charities focused on family welfare and health, underscoring her commitment to these issues.

An Orange County Tale With A Golden Touch

Shannon Beador’s life, both on and off the screen, reads like an Orange County fairy tale—with its share of dragons and treasures. Yet, her spirit, tenacity, and shrewd business instincts have crafted her story. Reality TV stars come and go, but few transform their 15 minutes of fame into sustainable brands and noteworthy fortunes. Overall, Shannon Beador has not just lived the Orange County dream; she’s embroidered it with her golden touch.

Cardi B Leverages Mic Throwing Incident Into Shady “Housewives” Tagline

With the recent release of “Bongos” ft. Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B’s doing the media rounds, which seems like a promising sign she could be readying her sophomore album. However, this also presents an opportunity for Cardi to address some of her recent viral moments. During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Cardi B not only reflected on a hypothetical return to reality TV but also mentioned the viral mic-throwing incident at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas this summer.

As Cohen and Cardi B discussed The Real Housewives, the television personality asked the rapper what her tagline would be. And without prompt, Cardi B slyly nodded at the infamous moment that nearly led to criminal charges. “The only thing I throw harder than mics is shade,” she told Cohen. While hilarious, Cardi was initially listed as a suspect in the battery case. Fortunately for her, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department decided not to press charges after an investigation into the incident.

Could Cardi B Return To Reality TV?

Cardi B got her start in the entertainment industry through reality TV. Although she became a beloved cast member of Love & Hip-Hop, the show ultimately jumpstarted her career as a rapper. However, would it be possible to see her back in a reality television format? She explained to Cohen that she’s a bit hesitant these days, especially considering how easily she could get canceled. “Yeah, I wouldn’t mind but I kind of mind,” Cardi said. “I would get canceled every day.”

It seems unlikely that we’ll see her and Offset put their private life on display, especially considering how their relationship has often felt like a timeline from a reality show. From allegations of cheating to filing for divorce, the couple have undoubtedly gone through it in the public eye without hiring cameras to follow them. Check out Cardi B’s clip from Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen above and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below. Would you tune into a reality TV show starring Cardi and Offset?

Eminem Files Trademark Opposition Against Two “Real Housewives” Over “Relatively Shady” Podcast Name

Eminem filed a trademark opposition against two Real Housewives of Potomac stars for their “Relatively Shady” podcast trademark. Before going on, reports suggest they filed trademark for “Relatively Shady,” but their podcast is found online as “Reasonably Shady.” With that being said, the Detroit rapper already has a similar trademark in “Slim Shady” and filed a motion to block the Housewives‘s trademark. Moreover, Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant host the Reasonably Shady relationship advice podcast, and filed for trademark of that name in February of 2022.

Furthermore, trademark infringement cases typically rest on the likelihood that a consumer would confuse two brands. For example, a small restaurant can’t file a trademark for their “McDonald’s Hot Dogs” because consumers will likely confuse them for the fast-food giant. Within his opposition request, Marshall Mathers states that consumers would be confused by the “Reasonably Shady” name. However, another important aspect in these cases is the similarities between each trademarked product. After all, who would believe that Slim Shady is starting a relationship advice podcast with two Real Housewives of Potomac?

Eminem’s Trademark Case Against The Real Housewives

Still, multiple other trademarks exist with the term “Shady” in them. Moreover, trademarks like “Super Shady,” “Stay Shady,” and “Shady Baby” exist in active registration databases. Even with that in mind, trademark confusion isn’t all that the “Lose Yourself” MC hinges on. Also in his request is the claim that the new trademark could dilute Eminem’s existing “Slim Shady.” In this instance, the rapper believes that Dixon and Bryant’s registration hinders the “distinctive quality” of his “Slim Shady” trademark. In addition, the opposition request claimed that “Reasonably Shady” will inevitably remind people of Marshall’s artistry and brand.

Meanwhile, the Reasonably Shady podcast already has over 43,000 followers on Instagram, and the Real Housewives are clearly finding success. Furthermore, they must answer to Eminem’s opposition request by March 26 of this year. If they don’t, their request to trademark their “shady” podcast name may fall on deaf ears. However, if they fight back, it will be up to each party to make their case to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Regardless of what happens, stick around on HNHH for the latest updates on Eminem and this new trademark dispute.

Nicki Minaj Will Replace Andy Cohen As Host Of The Next ‘Real Housewives’ Reunion Special

Nicki Minaj may be working on a new album and a documentary about her career, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have time for some good, old-fashioned trash reality TV. By which I mean Andy Cohen has asked her to host the upcoming Real Housewives Of Potomac reunion special — according to a shared screenshot of her text conversation with the show’s publicist — an invitation she enthusiastically accepted.

She made the announcement in her usual fashion, by posting to her Instagram Story, then sharing a screenshot with her Twitter followers. “Who tf is ready?” she tweeted. On Instagram, she wrote, “Don’t move! Everyone binge-watch all the episodes cuz we finna get into some thangz hunty.” She also promised that “My questions will be well thought out, too. Mixed with funny & epic, of course.”

But, as is often the case, she had to include a quick disclaimer: “And Barbz, plz don’t send me a million comments about the album & doc chile just lemme have my moment.” She did toss her ravenous fans a bone, though, adding, “We almost there. Promise. Not lying this time. Love you.”

Naturally, the Barbz — who basically live for drama — were ecstatic to learn of this development. Get into their responses below, and follow along with the show’s cast Sundays on Bravo.
