After letting hip-hop lose its collective mind for a couple of hours, it seems like Drake has finally responded to all the ruckus about his leaked diss track. For those unaware, a couple of different versions of a response track to Kendrick Lamar, Future, Metro Boomin, and more’s disses surfaced online on Saturday (April 13). While a lot of folks are still silent, have dropped potentially subliminal clap-backs, or outright fired back, The Boy stayed unfazed online up until a recent Instagram Story post. It’s very simple: just a picture of Uma Thurman as The Bride in the Kill Bill franchise, facing off against a group of assassins with just a katana in her hand.

Of course, even if Drake is just a big Tarantino fan and wanted to post this shot, it’s impossible to interpret this post in any other way right now. This is especially true because of a certain William (Bill) whose stage name will likely sound much more familiar to you. Rick Ross dropped his response track to Drizzy within mere hours of the leak emerging, on which he takes aim at his biracial identity, his alleged surgeries, and his supposed ratting out of French Montana to law enforcement via a cease and desist. It seems like no one directly involved in this feud has wasted any sort of time in offering up at least something to escalate things… except maybe its big instigator.

Moreover, reactions from countless fans, fellow rappers, and big celebrities are flowing through the discourse river at a high speed, and this track isn’t even officially on streaming yet. As such, there’s still a fair share of skepticism and mystery surrounding it, which feels like quite the intentional choice considering that this beef is mostly for the fans and for the culture, not for the numbers. Regardless, it’s 99% confirmed that this really was Drizzy… recording it (writing it is another story), and the overall sentiment is: Nice!

For example, let’s take two opposite reactions to this Drake leak (no, not that one) that both seem to acknowledge it as a great showing. First is quite the seasoned competitor himself, LeBron James. He took to Twitter with an owl emoji and some fire emojis that followed, and then added this in another tweet: “Nothing like 2 heavyweights doing What They Do Best! For the love off [sic] the sport.” Furthermore, this is curious because the kid from Akron had co-signed Kendrick Lamar’s inciting diss, “Like That.” We wonder if Drizzy thinks this evens things out, or if he didn’t appreciate that praise at all despite LeBron being very friendly with both.

He posted the leaked Drake diss in question and took the opposite stance from LeBron James, instead emphasizing that this is not competition “for the love of the sport”: it’s for blood. “All you [ninja emoji]’s got smoked by a light skinned N***a,” Fif captioned the clip. “LOL YALL BETTER GET HIGH AS A MOTHER FVCKER AND COME UP WITH SOMETHING!” As for his previous remarks on this whole beef, he had expressed a desire to talk with J. Cole following his apology to Kendrick Lamar for unknown reasons… probably not very forgiving ones.

The 76-year-old was quietly battling cancer before he ultimately succumbed to the illness, and we even saw him making occasional appearances on Cam’ron and Mase’s It Is What It Is podcast. Simpson’s family says that he passed on Wednesday, “surrounded by his children and grandchildren” while also asking for privacy and grace from the world.

Unfortunately, due to Simpson’s shameless antics after being acquitted of Nicole Brown Simpson’s murder, people are having a hard time letting him rest easy. So far, social media posts about the athlete’s death are mostly joking about him being “dragged” to hell by his alleged victims, or crossing paths with other troubling figures who already might be spending time with Satan.

He was a dear friend to all of us, a wonderful man, and one of the most important and impactful DJs of all time. Social media has been ablaze with discussion after J Cole shockingly apologized for dissing Kendrick Lamar during a pause in his headlining set at Dreamville Festival on Sunday night. During the speech, Cole admitted that his “7 Minute Drill” diss is “the lamest sh*t I ever did in my f*cking life,” and praised Lamar as one of the best rappers ever. The comments come after two days of Cole and Lamar’s fanbases feuding online.

“J Cole said he wanted all the smoke on every verse but as soon as that smoke came he tapped out,” one fan wrote afterward. “This has to be one of the most embarrassing moments in rap I’ve ever seen. Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses Causing “Mass Casualty Event,” Lamar Jackson & More React

The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed on Tuesday after a container ship rammed into a support column earlier in the morning. The fire department’s communications director, Kevin Cartwright, described the collapse as “a mass casualty event.” Maryland Gov. Wes Moore confirmed that the ship issued a “mayday” after losing power, which allowed authorities to prevent further casualties. “We’re thankful that between the ‘mayday’ and collapse that-that we had officials who were able to-to begin the stop the flow of traffic so more cars were not up on the bridge,” Moore said.

Regardless of the warning, Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul Wiedefeld confirmed that eight people were on the Key Bridge at the time of its collapse. He says his department is currently looking into alternative transit options for the 35,000 people who traverse the bridge daily.

In response to the incident, plenty of celebrities, politicians, and residents have reacted to the collapse on social media. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson wrote on Twitter: “For the people and their families that was apart of the collapsing Bridge in Baltimore my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you all…” David Simon, who created the HBO show, The Wire, wrote: “Thinking first of the people on the bridge. But the mind wanders to a port city strangling. All the people who rely on ships in and out. The auto-ship imports, Domino Sugar, coal exports, dockwork, whatever container traffic we didn’t lose to Norfolk. Industries. Jobs. Families.”

Well, thankfully, the Travis Scott fan account @tervisscoot on Twitter provided fans with a brief snippet of an upcoming song. Based on the source, you can probably guess that the song features Travis Scott. He can be heard doing his signature ad-libs at the start of the song, although there isn’t much else to go off of. What is interesting to note, is that the song doesn’t sound particularly country.

Speaker Knockerz is an artist who made the most of his time on this earth. Overall, in just a short period of time, he became extremely influential for the next generation of artists. Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 19. This happened back in 2014, and over 10 years later, his legacy is still fondly remembered. However, his fans were reactivated this week when it was revealed that he was dropping a posthumous album called The Goat. Considering it has been 10 years since his death, this all seemed fairly bizarre.

Well, bizarre is certainly a good word to use when it comes to what this album actually is. If you go to Spotify or Apple Music right now, you will notice that this is actually an instrumental project. If you go scrolling through the project, you will not hear Speaker Knockerz’s voice. Overall, this came as a bit of a shock to fans. Moreover, the beats themselves are…well, to put it lightly, they’re not good. They sound dated and even at that, these would have been clowned back in the early 2010s regardless.

4batz’s meteoric rise to notoriety is due to his mega overnight sensation of a song, “act ii: date @ 8.” Fans are falling in love with the sticky melody, its dreamy beat, and the Dallas, Texas native’s high-pitch vocals. So much so in fact, that the song is already at a staggering 80 million streams in the three months it has been out. It is a straightforward cut about spoiling a woman and proving why he is the one for her. However, there is a massive camp that believes 4batz is an industry plant and that the song is just okay. But, Drake clearly liked what he heard and he decided to work with 4batz for the remix.

The rapper and singer only has three tracks in his discography, but based “act ii,” Drake saw potential. The Canadian superstar has a history of striking when the iron is hot. He did it with ILOVEMAKONNEN, Smiley, and a few others. Even with the big co-sign a lot of people are still sticking to their guns about how mediocre the track is.
