Vybz Kartel Gets Matching Tattoos With His Fiancee

Vybz Kartel is out and about, focusing on himself and his health after being released from prison after a 13-year stint. Moreover, he got some new ink to commemorate this freedom, but that’s not the only menaingful body art that he added. In addition, the dancehall artist also got matching tattoos with his fiancée, Sidem Ozturk, with each one of them putting the other’s name on their arm. It’s always a wholesome affair, as small of a detail as it is, to see couples represent each other and tribute each other in this way. We also imagine that it carries a particular weight after all of his legal issues and the like.

Furthermore, Vybz Kartel could get right back to building his career and clout as a free man, and while he has, there are stronger priorities in mind. “Just finished my morning workout […] I can’t overdo it yet […] You know what I say, fitness and family? That’s the greatest,” he told his Instagram followers, as he’s focusing on his health journey after a rough time behind bars fighting Graves’ disease and a mysterious heart condition.

Vybz Kartel & His Fiancée’s Matching Tattoos

Still, for fans out there, this moment is a lot more about this health journey and Vybz Kartel’s personal growth and stasis than it is about new music or getting his career back together. After all, listeners got two dozen albums and mixtapes during this prison stint, so it’s clear that this prolific release schedule could come back at any time. He dropped First Week Out, a collection of loosies from past years, as his first official release since finding freedom, and it’s unclear whether or not he plans to keep the pace up. Hopefully, no matter what the outcome is, the emphasis on health and happiness remains.

Meanwhile, a lot of artists are very happy to see Vybz Kartel released, including one longtime fan in Drake. He recently posted himself wearing a “Free Vybz Kartel” shirt online to celebrate this freedom, and many others are following suit. Regardless, the happy couple has a lot more life to live, and after such hardships, they should treasure all these blessings. Whether they come in the form of new music or new ink, they are very welcome after 13 years of patience.

Vybz Kartel Celebrates The End Of 13-Year Prison Stay With Symbolic Tattoo

Late last month, Vybz Kartel finally saw the end of his longwinded legal battle and was released from prison alongside three co-defendants. The dancehall icon spent 13 years behind bars and has wasted no time getting back to his life outside. Earlier this week, he announced that he’s been focused on his health since his release, staying active and investing in some exercise equipment. He suffers from Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder, as well as a heart condition.

Aside from getting healthy, Vybz Kartel has already unveiled a new mixtape, First Week Out. He’s even decided to celebrate his newfound freedom with a symbolic tattoo. In a new clip, he showcases the piece, which features an eagle getting released from a cage. Of course, this represents his own release after a lengthy prison stay.

Vybz Kartel Embraces His Freedom With New Ink

Vybz Kartel and his fans aren’t the only ones celebrating his long-awaited release, however. Shortly after he got out, Drake took to his Instagram Story to show his support. He rocked a “Free Kartel” t-shirt in a mirror selfie to celebrate the exciting news. This prompted fans to demand a collab, though it’s unclear whether or not that will happen any time soon. He’s also been spending time with his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, who he met in 2019.

While supporters are certainly glad to see Vybz Kartel having fun with his freedom, they’re also glad that he now has access to proper medical treatment. Last year, his attorney Isat Buchanan revealed that he was “fighting for his life” behind bars, arguing that his health issues were being worsened by allegedly poor prison conditions. What do you think of Vybz Kartel getting an eagle tattoo to celebrate his release from prison? How does it look? Vybz Kartel Freed: Everything We Know About The Dancehall Legend’s Release

Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, has been released from prison after judges ruled he should not face a retrial for murder, BBC reports. Kartel, who was imprisoned in 2014 for the alleged murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams, has always maintained his innocence. His conviction was overturned by UK judges in March. On Wednesday, appeal judges in Jamaica decided the case would not go back to court. This decision marks the end of a long legal battle for the 48-year-old artist, who is said to be in poor health after spending 13 years in custody. Here’s everything we know about his release and the events leading up to it.

The Initial Conviction & Appeal

Vybz Kartel was convicted in 2014 alongside co-defendants Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John. The prosecution argued that Kartel and his associates were involved in the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams in August 2011. Williams and another man, Lamar Chow, were reportedly summoned to Kartel’s house after failing to return two unlicensed firearms. Chow testified that they were attacked and that he saw Williams lying motionless on the ground before the house was burned down. Williams’ body was never found.

Despite their consistent claims of innocence, Kartel and his co-defendants were sentenced to life in prison. Kartel, specifically, received a minimum term of 35 years. Following his conviction, Kartel appealed to courts in Jamaica, which upheld the verdict. However, his legal team did not relent and took the case to the Privy Council in London, Jamaica’s highest court of appeal.

The Privy Council Ruling

In March, the Privy Council in London ruled that the conviction was unsafe due to the presence of a biased juror. Kartel’s defense had argued that a juror had attempted to bribe other members of the jury, which should have led to their removal from the trial. The Privy Council agreed. They stated that the decision not to remove the juror infringed on the defendants’ fundamental right to a fair hearing. The judges concluded that this oversight was “fatal to the safety of the convictions which followed.”

Decision Against A Retrial

Despite the Privy Council’s ruling, Jamaican authorities had the option to retry Kartel and his co-defendants. However, on Wednesday, Justice Marva McDonald-Bishop of Jamaica’s Court of Appeal, along with two other judges, decided against a retrial. They considered several factors, including the “egregious nature and seriousness of the offense,” the unavailability of access to witnesses and evidence, the passage of time, and the considerable expense of a retrial. Additionally, Kartel’s declining health played a significant role in their decision. The judges concluded that “the interests of justice do not require a new trial,” and formally acquitted Kartel and his co-defendants.

Reaction To The Release

Kartel’s release has sparked widespread reactions in Jamaica and beyond. Known for hits like “Clarks,” “Ramping Shop,” and “Summer Time,” Vybz Kartel is one of Jamaica’s most influential dancehall artists. His music career, which continued to thrive even while he was imprisoned, has shaped and propelled dancehall internationally. Vybz’s release is seen as a monumental moment for dancehall music.

His release has been met with plenty of praise, from mainstream artists like Drake and Cardi B to 1Xtra’s Dancehall Show presenter, Seani B, who described Kartel’s release as a “mammoth day” for Jamaica and the dancehall community at large. Seani also acknowledged the lingering pain of Williams’ family, emphasizing the need to remember the victim amid the celebrations. No doubt that he’ll be releasing new music soon, indicating his plans to reclaim his spot as the top artist in the dancehall scene.

Vybz Kartel To Be Released After A Decade In Prison

Vybz Kartel has dealt with his fair share of legal trouble over the past decade after he was arrested for his alleged role in Clive “Lizard” Williams’ disappearance. Now, however, there’s been a major breakthrough in the Jamaican dancehall icon’s case. Today, it was decided in court that Kartel and his two codefendants Kahira Jones and Andre St. John will not be retried. Instead, they’ll be released.

“Having regard to all considerations the court has taken into account, we conclude that the interest of justice do not require a new trial to be ordered for the appellants,” Justice Marva McDonald-Bishop explained. “We therefore make the following order: judgments and verdicts of acquittal are entered in relation to the appellants.”

Vybz Kartel Fans Celebrate His Freedom

Of course, fans couldn’t be happier for the 48-year-old, who was previously handed a life sentence. The news comes only a few months after he successfully appealed his life sentence, and his conviction was overturned. He was subsequently denied bail, as authorities opted for him to stay in jail while they determined whether or not he’d be retried. Luckily, things worked out in the performer’s favor. Vybz Kartel’s release also comes after his attorneys raised concerns about his health and allegedly poor living conditions.

“His neck was swollen, if you think of a shirt that is about 18.5 inches in the neck area, you couldn’t close the collar on his neck and that’s how bad it is in this moment,” Isat Buchanan told FOX 5 in 2023. “His face is actually swollen. And one other thing. He always wears glasses; in this condition, that causes his eyes to protrude.” What do you think of Vybz Kartel finding freedom after spending several years behind bars? Blueface’s Father Provides Hopeful Update On His & Chrisean Rock’s Legal Woes

Both Blueface and Chrisean Rock have found themselves behind bars in recent months, and updates on the iconic duo have since been few and far between. Fortunately, however, Blueface’s father Johnathan Porter Sr recently provided fans with a brief message. In a new Instagram post, he vibes to Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us” before sharing his hopes for the future.

According to him, he hopes that his son will be released within the next 20 days with time served. He also wishes for Chrisean’s release on the same day. Porter Sr asks supporters to keep them both in their prayers, “so that everybody can have a new start.” At the time of writing, it remains unclear when Blueface will actually be released. He was previously expected to get out on July 2.

Johnathan Porter Sr Hopes Blueface & Chrisean Rock Will Be Released In The Next 20 Days

He turned himself in back in January for an alleged parole violation and has been in custody ever since. Chrisean then attended one of his hearings last month, where she was also arrested. Reportedly, she’s expected to get extradited to Oklahoma after finishing up a 30-day stint in California for alleged assault with a deadly weapon. She was charged in Oklahoma with “possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.”

In his caption, Blueface’s father noted that their son Chrisean Jr. is “missing his mother dearly.” Hopefully, both of them will return home to the 11-month-old sooner rather than later. Ralo Buys An Atlanta Block & Plans To Open City’s First Vine City Mosque After Prison Release

Ralo has been through a lot over the past few years, and now that he’s officially free from his halfway house, he can move onto greater things. Moreover, he recently announced that he bought a whole block in Atlanta consisting of various commercial properties, and also relayed plans to build the first Vine City Mosque in the history of the state of Georgia. In the Atlanta rapper’s Instagram post on the matter, he specifically highlighted the importance of not having to recur to his old lifestyles and troubles now that he’s found personal and financial freedom. Overall, it’s a very heartening story and a hard-earned one, and hopefully one that brings him a lot of fulfillment, joy, and opportunities in the future.

“The folks sent me to federal prison, took everything from me and left my family out hea with NOTHING,” Ralo’s Instagram caption began. “I ran this s**t back up legally. I won’t ever have to sell a piece of dope again in my life. I’ve become a restaurant, hair salon, barber shop and clothing store owner. Allah has blessed me to open up the first #VineCityMosque in the history of Atlanta.

Ralo Shares His Financial Freedoms & Mosque Initiative

“I won’t ever in my life have to rent another condo again now that I own dozens directly across the street from the Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta,” Ralo’s Instagram post continued. “Go watch Ralo Chapter 38 | Hood Hero #OutNow on YouTube to see how I’m putting all this s**t together. My goal is to link up with the people and do this in every state. If you wanna donate to the cause or help with the mostque go to FamericaNews.Com #KingAkh.”

Meanwhile, Ralo also recently stood by many values that he continues to champion from his past life, even under wildly different circumstances. “Man ain’t no way Shawty just got on that stand against his childhood friend,” he expressed concerning Trontavious Stephens’ recent testimony in the Young Thug and YSL RICO case. “I rather die ah thousand deaths before I do some s**t like that.” We’ll see what other principles, initiatives, and developments the 29-year-old enjoys in his freedom.

Ralo Officially Released From Halfway House

Ralo is now a free man, as he recently shared an update on his legal situation with fans on Instagram on Thursday (June 27). Moreover, he posted a photo of a federal release notice form indicating that he was officially free from his stay at a halfway house (which lasted eight months) that same day. The Atlanta rapper and YSL sympathizer, according to this revealed paperwork, will also face five years of probation following this release. “Today the last day of this federal halfway house s**t, I’m signing my papers we finna be outside…” he captioned his post. “#FukPrison #Fuk12 I’m ready to do my interviews, my shows call Johnnie (404) 798-0197.”

For those unaware, Ralo saw a prison release in November of last year following a five-year prison sentence. Back in 2018, authorities arrested him after allegedly discovering $1 million worth of marijuana on his private plane at an Atlanta airport, and in June of 2022, he received an eight-year prison sentence. The judge credited this with four years of time served and, reportedly, with “one and a half year for good time,” according to the Thugger affiliate. Since then, he stayed at the halfway house in Atlanta until just this week.

Ralo Announces His Freedom

In addition, Ralo also released some singles following his prison release, including a “First Day Out” and a couple of other collaborations. We don’t know what’s left in store for the future, but either way, fans are very happy with this development and are sending their best wishes. Unfortunately, this freedom also involved some bumps along the road, including a bizarre social media suspension shortly after its lawful commencement. Presumably, this had something to do with his post-release terms restricting fan engagement.

Meanwhile, the rap game welcomed Ralo back with open arms, as folks like Lil Baby treated him to “welcome home” gifts like a $50K watch. It’s been heartening to see, and though the process hasn’t been perfect, that’s an increasingly rare luxury. Hopefully the rest of his return to the regular world goes by without many hiccups. We’ll see what this halfway house release provides in the future.

Pop Smoke’s Alleged Killer Cuts Off Ankle Monitor: Watch

The Pop Smoke murder trial has taken some interesting turns as of late concerning former codefendants, but they’re on very different extremes of discussion. On one hand, the sole adult defendant in the case, Corey Walker, failed to secure a plea negotiation in his case, so he will have to wait longer to face his trial. But for the other codefendant of note these days, Blockstar, his newsworthiness stems more from his extreme attempts at securing freedom. Moreover, a clip recently emerged of him seemingly cutting off his own ankle monitor, making his attempts at escape known for whatever reason.

Furthermore, the court previously released Blockstar earlier this month in the Pop Smoke murder case, presumably due to completing his four year juvie sentence following a guilty plea. The circumstances and vagueness of this release provoked a lot of debate within fans. Of course, a lot of negative messages and threats ensued, and another video was posted that shows Blockstar’s probation officer calling him and requesting relocation due to concerns over his safety. Clearly, a lot of anger or confusion over this has caused some due worries, and hopefully it doesn’t escalate.

Blockstar Cuts Off His Ankle Monitor

However, things took yet another curious turn when Pop Smoke’s released alleged murderer demanded that No Jumper hand him a bag. Specifically, it seems like he wants the publication to pay him for providing coverage of his prison release and, by extension, allegedly exploiting his name and story for their own gain. We’re sure that Blockstar extends this ire to other news outlets and media pages talking about his release, but he still chose one particular target. Perhaps something develops from this in the future, but again, hopefully things stay more measured.

Pop Smoke’s Alleged Murderer Might Be Relocated

Meanwhile, this news arrived a couple of months after folks heard a new alleged testimony of the tragic loss of Pop Smoke. It came from a supposed friend or colleague of his that was apparently at his house when home invaders took his life. It’s a bit of a harrowing account, but it also emphasizes the mundane nature of the situation before a dark end. With luck, we will celebrate the late New York MC’s legacy this year for many more reasons that have nothing to do with this crime.

Pop Smoke’s Alleged Killer Reportedly Released From Prison

According to numerous online reports and social media activity, authorities reportedly released one of Pop Smoke’s alleged killers from jail (specifically juvie) for what seems like his 21st birthday. Moreover, there isn’t a lot of concrete information available about this supposed release at press time, other than this being the completion of the alleged killer’s four-year sentence for pleading guilty to murder. This follows other developments in the New York drill rapper’s murder case, such as an alleged eyewitness explaining how it all went down. That took place on social media, though, not in court. As such, there are still a lot of unanswered questions and doubts when it comes to this tragedy.

Furthermore, four years have passed since Pop Smoke died in a home invasion and robbery, and only one defendant remains in his case. Corey Walker is also the only adult defendant in this case, and the court delayed his trial due to an inability to settle a plea agreement with prosecutors. “Negotiations fell through, but there’s still a possibility we’ll come to an agreement,” defense attorney Deion Benjamin told Rolling Stone. “A few things need to be ironed out. If they don’t get resolved, we’ll go to trial,” for which jury selection would begin on August 6.

However, this vague release definitely isn’t the most odd or bizarre thing to emerge out of this Pop Smoke case. Some connected it to the death of rapper Sirtanky, and believe that the latter passed away as a move of retaliation for the murder of the former. In fact, the Los Angeles rapper washed up in a barrel on the shores of Malibu, a gruesome and disturbing end with unclear context behind it. Hopefully no further violence affects this whole situation.

Meanwhile, Pop Smoke continues to live on as a staple of contemporary New York hip-hop, falling alongside city legends that have also done a lot to rep for the city in their respective eras. Sadly, his time on this Earth was far too short for him to fully enjoy and realize his impact, potential, talents, and life. Hopefully this release is a sign of completed justice, and that folks involved have learned from their horrific actions. We’ll see how else The Woo endures.
