2 Chainz’s Son Isn’t Impressed By His Dad’s Fame

2 Chainz success as a rapper, songwriter, and businessman is undeniably impressive. Though there’s one person that his fame has failed to impress, his own son. The rapper’s son Halo has become somewhat of a star in his own right, mainly through the pairs podcast Me and Halo. In a recent episode, guest Issa Rae had some questions for Halo about his dad. “Do u know who your dad is?” she asks. “Yes. 2 Chain,” Halo responded. Rae was clearly looking for a more personal answer. “But who is he to you?” she follows up. “My dad. Just a rich a guy in the house. The richest guy in the house. Almost,” Halo responded.

Halo’s hilarious response certainly implied that he isn’t all that impressed with his dad. But in case there was any wiggle room he was asked directly if he was impressed. “No,” he responded. He also punctuated the whole discussion with another hilarious distinction. “I got more money than him, so…” Halo concluded. The funny clip went viral on TikTok following the release of the podcast episode.

2 Chainz And His Son Compare Bank Accounts

Earlier this month Metro Boomin’ dropped his absolutely stacked soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse. The tracklist includes an appearance from 2 Chainz, who joins 21 Savage and Don Toliver on the song “Givin’ Up (Not The One).” The album debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and many of its collaborations landed on the Hot 100 following the launch of the film and soundtrack.

This also isn’t the only time recently that Halo’s comments towards his dad have gone viral. Last month 2 Chainz couldn’t help but laugh it off when Halo called him “fat.” Following an appearance during Lil Wayne’s Rolling Loud set earlier this year, 2 Chainz spilled some of the details on a forthcoming new project he has with the rapper. He told fans that they had been working on the album for years now and that they’re putting the finishing touches on it now. What do you think about Halo’s assessment of 2 Chainz? Method Man Explains The Difference Between Rap Eras

Method Man identified one major difference between rap today and rap during Wu-Tang Clan’s heyday. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, the rap legend spoke on how regional identities have been lost in the decades since he first started. “When you heard records from the West Coast, you know it was from the West Coast. When you heard UGK, we know that was down south,” Method Man explained. While many rappers still flex their hometowns, he sees it as less distinct than previous eras of hip-hop.

Method Man was also quick to clarify that he isn’t criticizing all of modern rap. “I’m not taking anything away from the music nowadays, you know? Because whatever works, works. And I like some of the sh*t they be doin’ today,” he said. “But back then, we had identities. And everybody was fightin’ for their own identity. Whereas now, it seems like everyone’s fighting for the same identity.” Despite that, he still sees the future of rap looking bright. “that’s going to spark the mind that changes everything, you know?”

Method Man Gets Real On The Breakfast Club

Last month on Kevin Hart’s podcast Gold Minds podcast, Method Man mentioned that he hadn’t watched a single episode of the Wu-Tang Clan TV show. Wu-Tang: An American Saga seeks to tell the story of the influential rap group’s come-up. While he did give the show its flowers he also noted that there are some flaws in the way its stories are told.

Further evidence of Method Man’s thoughts on modern hip-hop came earlier this year when he shouted out GloRilla. He claims that the rapper’s music is being played often in his house. Even though he doesn’t love much modern music he was sure to shout out someone he does like. GloRilla seemed to appreciate the shoutout and responded with an Instagram story expressing similar feelings back to the Wu-Tang legend. What do you think of Method Man’s take on modern hip-hop and its identity crisis? Let us know in the comment section below.

Lil Yachty Will Answer Fan Questions & Give Advice On His New Podcast

Georgia-born rhymer Lil Yachty was just 18 years old when he blew up thanks to SoundCloud in 2016. In the years since, he’s delivered projects like Teenage Emotions, Nuthin’ 2 Prove, and most recently, the experimental Let’s Start Here. Lil Boat’s talent has also allowed him to forge close friendships with huge figures such as Drake, who’s never been one to shy away from giving his young pal his flowers. Earlier this month, the pair linked up to do a Stake live stream together via Kick.

While the Canadian kept us laughing with his painted nails and declined credit card, fans were obviously happy to have Yachty in the vicinity too. It remains unclear if the heads at Kick followed through with Drizzy’s idea of signing the “Broccoli” hitmaker to their platform. Nevertheless, Yachty is obviously feeling inspired as he announced via his Instagram Story earlier this week that his first-ever podcast episode will be dropping soon. Rather than using his platform to discuss topics of his own choosing, the 25-year-old is eager to give fans an opportunity to connect with him on the show.

Lil Yachty Hops on the Podcast Bandwagon

“Filming my first podcast,” Yachty wrote on Monday (June 12). “Send me any questions [you] want me to answer/any advice [you] need. Haha let’s go,” he added before hundreds of responses presumably poured in. The “Act Up” writer didn’t explicitly share when he plans to drop the podcast episode, but the fact that he’s recording something is promising.

While there’s definitely excitement surrounding the news, some replies in @nojumper’s comment section expressed disdain for yet another celebrity-hosted internet show. “Just what the world needs. They just gonna be talking about finger nail polish etc,” one critic speculated. “I’m good.” What advice would you most like to receive from Lil Yachty? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

During a recent appearance on the Whoos House podcast, Boosie Badazz gave praise to Bobby Shmurda. He suggested that Shmurda’s six years of prison time ought to be “saluted,” claiming that he has more to show for his lifestyle than some of his peers. Boosie had previously shown his respect for Shmurda’s refusal to “snitch” amid his charges. “SOLID AS A ROCK!!” he said in 2019. “It’s a shame how the world don’t glorify the REAL ONES SMH. Rats get mo love then the stand up guys.” Shmurda served time for conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon.

Shmurda recently appeared on The Danza project podcast, where he discussed the influence of rap on the younger generation. “These kids are following you guys, and you’re rapping about these f*cking lifestyles…and it’s very dangerous to the communities [because] these little kids [really] think that [it’s] going on, and you did not even live [any] [of] [it],” he explained. The artist went on to say, “Rap is supposed to be telling motherf*ckers to go from negative to positive, coming from poverty to go to riches…and how to stay in that and how to change. That’s the sh*t that I want to hear. I wanna hear about living life…”

S**t don’t even be worth it, bro.” He went on to say, “You get older you be like, ‘Damn, man.’ Lotta s**t come with this s**t. It’s the only thing that matter, bruh, staying alive. This ain’t the life you want, though, dog. All y’all young n***as out there, this ain’t the life you want.”

Last year, Shmurda took to Instagram to share his thoughts on rappers playing “dress-up” with their lifestyles. “I don’t want to be named as a rapper no more, bro,” he explained. “It’s like when you do that rapper sh*t, n****s like try to come for that light. Fat Joe Claps Back At Fans Who Don’t Believe His Viral Story

Earlier this week Fat Joe drew attention for a story he told during a recent episode of the iconic Records podcast. In the story he claims to have set up The Notorious B.I.G and Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony to record music together. That ultimately became “Notorious Thugs” which landed on Biggie’s album Life After Death. “Biggie hit me up and was like, ‘Yo bro, I’m trying to get in touch with your guys. They don’t wanna do it. They ignoring me.’ They didn’t wanna do a song with Biggie,” Joe explains.

Fat Joe went on to praise Biggie for his musical intuition. “And just for Biggie to think that advanced because New York wasn’t up on Bone Thugs like that. He know that they was gigantic and he was like, ‘Yo, I need to do a song with them.’” He then claimed that “I was like, ‘Um alright.’ And he was like, ‘Nah, I know you the plug. You can do it.’ I was like, ‘Alright Big, I got you.’” But in the wake of that story dropping plenty of fans had thoughts on whether or not it was the real truth.

Fat Joe’s Bold Claims

After many people challenged the authenticity of the story Fat Joe posted a response on Instagram clapping back. In the video he clarifies the role that Tupac had in Bone Thugs not wanting to record a song with Biggie initially. He also claims that Bone-Thungs long time manager would verify his story. Though the video is short on details Joe does claim that a number of people involved will back him up and prove his story right. The Instagram video now features hundreds of comments where fans continue the argument over whether or not Fat Joe is telling the truth.

Tyler, The Creator Hates Seeing Top Five Rapper Lists

Pretty much anywhere rap music is discussed, fans are debating about who is the best around. From making a Mount Rushmore of rappers to just a simple top-five list of either living rapper or of all time, there are plenty of ways that this discussion manifests. Even though plenty of those lists include Tyler, The Creator, he isn’t a fan of the whole concept. In a new interview on the Rap Radar Podcast Tyler made it clear that he doesn’t like “Rap Twitter” or the idea that there’s any kind of objectively best rapper.

“You know what annoys me? When people are like, ‘This is my top five,’ and people argue it. You got 17-year-olds like, ‘Yeah, dude, Ready To Die and Enter The Wu-Tang is my top ten albums ever,’” Tyler rants. He goes on to say he thinks that fans are only pretending to appreciate those albums to generate clout in various online circles where they’re respected. He continues “It’s performative. Again, some people might be right, but … you got YoungBoys and Baby’s out here and that’s your favorite album?”

Tyler, The Creator Take Aim At Rap Twitter

Tyler, The Creator recently brushed shoulders with someone whose name often appears in best rapper lists, Kendrick Lamar. Tyler makes a cameo appearance in the music video for Kendrick and Baby Keem’s recent collaboration “The Hillbillies.” He also recently announced the return of his Flog Gnaw Music Festival which hasn’t happened since 2019. The festival’s 2023 edition doesn’t have a full lineup confirmed yet but it’s set to take place in November.

Earlier this year Tyler dropped a deluxe edition of his 2021 album Call Me If You Get Lost. The reissue featured the fan-favorite single “DOGTOOTH.” It also featured an A$AP Rocky collaboration that was long rumored to exist from the original album’s sessions. Tyler guested on two singles last year including Pharrell and 21 Savage track “Cash In Cash Out.” He also joined Pharrell again alongside Nigo, Gunna, A$AP Rocky, Pop Smoke, and Pusha T in the song “I Know NIGO.” Tell us your take on Tyler’s comments about top 5 rapper lists in the comments below.

Bobby Shmurda Says Rap Has Become Too “Dangerous” For Kids

Bobby Shmurda says that rap music has gotten too “dangerous” and that he doesn’t listen to it anymore. He explained that he feels music should be uplifting and not negative during a recent appearance on The Danza Project podcast.

“These kids are following you guys, and you’re rapping about these fucking lifestyles…and it’s very dangerous to the communities [because] these little kids [really] think that [it’s] going on, and you did not even live [any] [of] [it],” the rapper said. He also cited reggae as one of his favorite genres.

He continued: “Rap is supposed to be telling motherfuckers to go from negative to positive, coming from poverty to go to riches…and how to stay in that and how to change. That’s the shit that I want to hear. I wanna hear about living life…” Shmurda famously served 6 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon for his involvement in the GS9 gang back in September 2016. In the time since his release, Shmurda’s dropped two projects: the mixtape, SHMURDAGOTCASH, and the EP, Bodboy. He’s also been teasing a debut studio album titled Ready To Live.

Shmurda’s The Danza Project appearance isn’t the first time that he has been vocal about violent lyrics in hip-hop. When he spoke with HNHH in 2022, Shmurda explained that rappers need to be more cautious with lyrics now being used against them in court. “When I came into the game I didn’t take the music industry serious,” Shmurda said at the time. “I didn’t even really know about the music industry. I didn’t even give a fuck about the music industry when I first came in the game, and then I see how powerful music was, and like how kids really react to it.”

Boosie Badazz Wants Gunna To Flop: “I Don’t Want No Rat To Excel”

Boosie Badazz recently shared his thoughts on what’s next for Gunna’s career on a podcast. He told The Big Homies House podcast that he hopes Gunna’s career is over, claiming that he’s “been hurt” in the past. The discussion followed Gunna allegedly snitching on Young Thug during the YSL RICO case.

In the podcast appearance, Boosie is asked if he thinks artists can still have a solid career amid “snitch” labels. Boosie claims he doesn’t think so. “Gunna might be done unless he go to another country,” he explains in the clip. He also cited Wheezy claiming to be through with Gunna, allegedly calling him a “rat” earlier this month. “Wheezy say he outta here,” Boosie claimed. “I don’t want no rat to excel. I hope he never sell a record again,” he continued. Boosie then went on to reveal that he himself has “been hurt” by alleged snitches in the past.

Boosie “Hopes He Never Sells A Record Again”

Lil Durk’s take on the Gunna situation was also mentioned during the podcast. Last week, Durk appeared on DJ Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast, where he shared his thoughts. “Now I don’t sit up here and play games, man,” Lil Durk told the DJ. “That man told. You should have went in there and kept your mouth closed,” he added. The rapper went on to say, “If you a rat, you a rat. If you rewind this clip a little bit, I looked into the camera and told you, if you a rat, I f***ing hate you. Because I love Thug.”

Gunna made his first public appearance after being released from jail earlier this week, attending a basketball game. Earlier today, he shared a clip to social media where he appears to address allegations that he is a “snitch.” “He forgave me for my sins now they mad that I got out,” he raps in the video. Although it is unconfirmed that this has to do with the RICO case, it has led to some fans’ speculation.

Machine Gun Kelly Beefs With The All-American Rejects’ Frontman

Frontman of The All-American Rejects, Tyson Ritter, discussed his beef with Machine Gun Kelly during a recent podcast appearance. He told Tuna on Toast with Stryker‘s host, Ted Stryker, that the beef took place on set of a film Ritter starred in alongside Megan Fox. Ritter says he suggested putting his fingers in Fox’s mouth in a scene, leading MGK to go “ballistic.”

“I go over [to Fox’s trailer] and there’s her man in there with her. This Colson guy, who you know as Machine Gun Kelly, I call him ‘Pistol Pete,” he begins. “I was like, ‘Hey Megan, you know, I wanted to talk to you about this moment where when you die, because you’ve been teasing me, putting your fingers in my mouth, that when you’re dead, I put my fingers in your mouth.’” “Colson like just goes from zero to like rage and awesome, super angry,” he revealed. “He was super bummed about me asking if I could put my fingers in Megan Fox’s mouth and I knew she was right there and he just went ballistic. He kind of went maniac mode.”

Ritter Says MGK Went “Ape” On Him

Ritter explained, “I remember when ‘Pistol Pete’ started going ape on me.” He continued, recalling, “I was like, ‘This is really confrontational, but also, like, thank you, dude.’” The frontman says MGK “had this like baby’s arm of a joint dangling out of his mouth,” during the confrontation. He went on to reveal MGK was “fully unhinged.” Ritter says he “was just like, ‘OK man, I’ll just receive you.’ ’Cause obviously it wasn’t gonna be anything crazy. But yeah that was … holy s–t. It was the greatest gift.” Ritter went on to claim that the two artists never officially made up after the incident.

Rumors of MGK and Fox breaking up began to circulate earlier this year, though the pair has been seen out together since. The couple even took a “healing” Hawaiian vacation together in April. One source told the media then that the two of them are “officially back on after going through a rocky patch in their relationship.”

Another commented, “Translation she has way to much money and she doesn’t need me so I can’t manipulate and control her with the very thing she has.”

Ne-Yo and his ex-wife Crystal Renay finalized their divorce in February. Afterward, he told TMZ that he was open to the idea of dating fans of his music. “Somebody on my level kind of understands that plight of what I go through just as a celebrity,” he said at the time. “But at the same time, we’re weirdos. Us celebrities, we’re weirdos. So I like normal people. I’m okay with going for just regular people.”

Ne-Yo On Taylor Swift

As for Taylor Swift, she is currently dating the Matt Healy of The 1975 fame. While neither has spoken at length about the relationship in public, Swift alluded to the relationship being in a great place during a recent stop on her Eras tour. “It’s insane. I kind of just feel like telling you, that I don’t know, that just…I’ve never been this happy in my life in all aspects of my life ever before,” she told the audience. “And I just want to thank you for being a part of that. It’s not just the tour, like, I don’t know, my life finally feels like it makes sense.”
