OsamaSon Continues Great Run With “The Whole World Is Free”

OsamaSon’s latest single, “The Whole World is Free,” continues his impressive run in 2024. The Atlantic/Motown recording artist latches onto the distorted production with a signature trap style. OsamaSon attempts to persuade the girl of his dream to be with him. He goes through every emotion to cope with the fever dream. Before “The Whole World Is Free,” Osama drew a buzz with his latest single, “just score it,” which generated over a million streams in a matter of weeks.

The song has drawn excitement since its release on Tuesday (Nov. 12). “This is so beautiful,” commented a Soundcloud user, while another wrote, “This is generational. I could shed a tear.” Some would compare Osama to his rival Playboi Carti. “Better than Carti,” commented a fan. Another would refute the claim with, “Def not is just this song he prolly trying sum different not glazing i js think he trying to go for sum that’s not sticking.” In 2023, Playboi Carti allegedly referred to Osama while promoting his I AM Music campaign on Instagram.

Carti shared an old Young Thug tweet that read: “Boy, slow down dropping all that BS music…” Fans immediately thought the tweet was directed at OsamaSon. Playboi Carti has never mentioned the new artist. Throughout 2024, Osama has prepared for his anticipated album with trending tracks “withdrawls,” “popstar,” and “ik what you did last summer.” Released last month, “ik what you did last summer” has become the rising star’s biggest of the year with over two million streams and counting.

Logic Wants To Rap Like Playboi Carti To Get Paid

Former Def Jam recording artist Logic and his music career appear to be at a crossroads, according to a new interview with TMZ. Over the weekend, Bobby Tarantino told the outlet he plans to create music similar to Playboi Carti due to the poor sales of his latest music. In August, he released his ninth album, Ultra 85, to 18k in first-week sales. It marks the rapper’s lowest debut yet.

Logic is known for his rapid conscious rap style, which the new album includes but doesn’t resonate with modern rap. On his way to Detroit, he told TMZ, “I’ve been on a run of doing super hip-hop music, but that stuff doesn’t pay the bills.” He decided to rap like Playboi Carti because the Whole Lotta Red creator is one of the biggest names in today’s hip-hop. Logic said: “I made my money doing pop and turn-up tracks, and I’ve been lucky to make music from my heart. But next year, I’m about to drop all this Carti-style trap and have some fun. It’s okay to make money, too.”

Logic Says His Raps Aren’t Making Money Like Playboi Carti

Logic has had a busy schedule lately, including a massive 2022 tour with Wiz Khalifa. Between album releases and touring, the rap star has faced off against multiple personal issues with his family and critics. He has frequently been attacked for his ethnicity as a mixed-race rapper and bars. Throughout the drama, he collaborated with icons like Eminem, Gucci Mane, and Lil Wayne. He announced his retirement, which turned into a year hiatus, in 2021.

Logic signed with Def Jam in 2013 and released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 2014. During his tenure with the legendary record label, he released seven albums, three of which reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart. He has produced 20 Hot 100 singles, including the massive hits “Everybody,” “Homicide,” and “1-800-273-8255.” 1-800-273-8255, a song about suicide prevention, achieved eight-time platinum by the RIAA. Logic signed a massive distribution deal with BMG in 2022 after leaving Def Jam for independence.

Logic Will Release Playboi Carti-Inspired Music Moving Forward, Because ‘Super’ Hip-Hop Songs Don’t ‘Pay The Bills’

Back in August, Logic released his latest album, Ultra 85. Well, if you were a fan of the “Therapy Music” rapper’s sonic direction you’re in for a rude awakening.

During a recent run-in with TMZ, Logic announced that he further releases will draw inspiration from Playboi Carti. Typically, this would be seen as a compliment, as Carti has been a go-to collaborator, Logic’s reasoning came off as a subtle jab at his sound.

“What I’ve noticed is I’ve been on a run of making super hip-hop music and that sh*t doesn’t pay the bills,” he said. “It’s because I made all my money before doing pop and turn-up sh*t, and I’ve been blessed enough to be in a position to make music from my heart. Next year, Imma f*ck em up. I’m about to drop all this, like, Playboi Carti trap, turn-up sh*t and go get a bag and have fun.”

Although Playboi Carti hasn’t responded to Logic’s remarks, users online did not hold back.

“‘My music isn’t working, so I’m going to entirely copy this other grown man.’ How pathetic,” wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter).

“Sounds interesting and sad at the same time,” penned another.

“This sounds like a threat not an announcement,” added another.

Ola Runt Responds To Playboi Carti’s 2020 Diss Song After Prison Release

Ola Runt and Playboi Carti do not get along. The two rappers have been going at one another for years. Playboi Carti went as far as to aim a diss track at Ola Runt on his 2020 album, Whole Lotta Red. The diss was titled “Stop Breathing,” but Runt was already behind bars by the time it dropped. Well, Runt was let out at the end of August, and he’s eager to pick the beef back up. He hopped on Instagram and made it very clear that he has a response track ready to go. He previewed the song in a car, and leveled some aggressive threats at Playboi Carti.

Ola Runt’s diss is reportedly titled “All Dead.” The title seems to be riffing on Playboi Carti’s most recent single, “All Red.” Runt calls out the enigmatic Playboi Carti for failing to get his music played in his native Atlanta. “Whole Lotta Red,” Ola Runt raps. “How you say that’s music but the A don’t play it.” The rapper then goes after Carti’s masculinity. “P**sy n**ga you wearin’ thongs, I bet you shave your legs,” he adds. Ola Runt took things a step further by tagging Playboi Carti on Instagram. He also targeted Carti’s crew, Homixide Gang.

Ola Runt Claims Carti’s Music Doesn’t Get ATL Play

It was only a matter of time before Ola Runt responded to “Stop Breathing.” Playboi Carti’s 2020 song was a scathing diss that went after Runt’s Henchmen crew. Bars like “I got n**gas in chain gang on my side” and “I had the n**gas shank Ola for a pie” made it clear Carti wasn’t playing around. The conflict between these two men stem from the death of Carti’s friend Bigg Sosa. It’s widely believed that Runt’s crew was responsible for Sosa’s death in 2023. “Ever since my brother died (Died, what? What? Yeah),” Carti added on the song. “I’ve been thinkin’ ’bout homicide.”

Tyler, The Creator And ScHoolboy Q Reunite For “Thought I Was Dead”

We knew Tyler, The Creator had bars on “Thought I Was Dead.” The rapper dropped a music video for the song a few days before its official release, but only a fragment of the song was included. Now that the full CHROMAKOPIA album has arrived, we have the full song. And it delivers. “Thought I Was Dead” offers up one of the hardest instrumentals on the entire album, which is saying a lot. The song also gives fans a chance to bask in the Tyler, The Creator and ScHoolboy Q reunion we didn’t realize we needed.

CHROMAKOPIA is, in many ways, the culmination of Tyler, The Creator’s sound. It includes pieces of all his previous albums. “Thought I Was Dead” is a throwback to the aggressive, clipped bangers that were all over 2015’s Cherry Bomb. The beat is wonky and horn-led, while the busy drum pattern breaks up the rapper’s bassy delivery. The chorus is simple and catchy. ScHoolboy Q, who also popped up on a stellar Cherry Bomb cut, brings his typical hybrid of menace and energy to the table. He’s the perfect rapper to get on a beat this bizarre. If you pick up the vinyl version of CHROMAKOPIA, then “Thought I Was Dead” also has a guest verse from Playboi Carti. If that’s not incentive, we don’t know what is.

Let us know what you think of this brand-new track, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Playboi Carti Has A Feature On Tyler, The Creator’s “Chromakopia,” But There’s A Twist

Tyler, The Creator fans are thriving right now as he has just come by with CHROMAKOPIA earlier this morning. The 14-track album features loads of talent such as ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Teezo Touchdown, Childish Gambino, and more. However, there is one other big-ticket guest that has fans talking. Tyler, The Creator and Playboi Carti have had some big hits before such as “Telephone Calls” and a hidden appearance on “EARFQUAKE” off of IGOR. Overall, though, it’s been a little while since we have heard these two together as both artists are always changing the sounds and approaches to their respective material.

But on CHROMAKOPIA the dry spell has ended… sort of. Right now, there is a snippet from the vinyl version, better known as the (TEST PRESSING VERSION). On the 11th cut “THOUGHT I WAS DEAD,” the DSP version of the seventh studio project contains a feature from ScHoolboy Q. But on this exclusive physical copy, fans will be treated to some Carti vocals instead. So, yes, you need the (TEST PRESSING VERSION) which now officially sold out. It was available for $30.00 USD.

You Need The “Chromakopia” Vinyl To Get The Exclusive Carti Feature

In terms of how fans are feeling about this, the reactions are all over the place. Some people are confused and upset. “Nah that’s crazy that’s so fire it should’ve been on the main album.” “Shit was so good why scrap the features mannn.” However, there are others are fine with it being on the vinyl only. “The song was better without him.” Then, there are people in the middle who appreciate Tyler for making buying physical versions worth it. “Tyler is making buying physicals fun again.” For those who got their hands on the special edition, we envy you!

What are your thoughts on Tyler, The Creator only including the Playboi Carti feature on the CHROMAKOPIA vinyl? Does this make you want to buy a physical copy even more or less? Is this the best feature on the album? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Playboi Carti Asks Bronny James To Send Him A Jersey After Lakers Opener

Playboi Carti may have surpassed Frank Ocean as the most unpredictable mainstream artist. He pulls back and goes silent just when it feels like there’s momentum and consistent engagement. It’s truly a confounding phenomenon. That said, Playboi Carti came out of hiding on October 22. The rapper had seemingly tuned in to the season opener for the Los Angeles Lakers, because he hopped on Instagram with a request. Carti tagged Lakers newcomer Bronny James and requested he be sent some merch.

Playboi Carti posted photos of Bronny James and a group of fans rocking Bronny’s jersey. He then tagged the famous progeny and stated that he wanted a jersey as well. “Send me ah jersey,” he wrote. Carti’s request may seem odd, but there may be a deeper meaning behind his request. Bronny James has stated, on multiple occasions, that he wears number nine as a tribute to the late rapper Juice WRLD. “Juice has just been a big part of me keeping calm in situations that I’ve been through,” James said in his first press conference. “Just paying homage to him, especially because he passed. It’s a really important thing for me.”

Playboi Carti Has A Strange History With NBA Jerseys

Playboi Carti was close with Juice WRLD throughout the latter’s career. They collaborated on multiple songs. Playboi Carti even reflected on Juice’s passing during a resurfaced interview. He dubbed the late rapper to be a G.O.A.T. and teared up when thinking about what could have been. Carti also admitted that he could have spent more time with Juice WRLD while he was alive. “He was really a G.O.A.T.,” he stated. “Even if we wasn’t seen together like that, we was close.” Beyond the Juice WRLD connection, Carti has an interesting history with the NBA and jerseys, in particular.

The rapper rocked a series of NBA jerseys throughout September, and fans began to theorize that they had something to do with the rollout for his upcoming album. The speculation reached such a fever pitch that NBA franchises began to pressure Playboi Carti to drop the album. The Atlanta Falcons, the Brooklyn Nets and the Orlando Magic Instagram pages left comments on Carti’s page whenever he posted photos rocking their jerseys. It didn’t lead to any new music, and it’s unlikely the Bronny James jersey will either.

Jermaine Dupri Clowns ‘Secretive’ Artists For Ruining Their Career Momentum

Jermaine Dupri has seen it all and done it all. He’s made stars from scratch, elevated stars to superstars, and helped fallen superstars regained their groove. He gets it. The producer has taken a step back in the last few years, barring his brief appearance during the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show. That said, he has some thoughts on the current generation of artists. Jermaine Dupri has nothing but respect for the talent and artistry of the current wave. He just feels like the way they’re rolling out their music is proving to be a hindrance.

Jermaine Dupri fired off two tweets with this sentiment on October 22. The first was brief. “Hits don’t allow you to be secretive,” he wrote. The second, however, saw the producer expand on his issues with the “secretive” approach. “N**gas all extra secretive on dey IG like they coming with that killa,” he wrote. “Y’all done let these none going out executives trick you.” Dupri believes that artists should follow a more traditional rollout when it comes to building anticipation for new releases. Rappers and singers are doing less, and the numbers support the producer’s claims.

Jermaine Dupri Criticized Current Music Executives

There has also been frustration on the part of fans. 2024 has seen artists like Kendrick Lamar, Playboi Carti and Frank Ocean tease new music. Some have dropped new songs, but have yet to announce plans for a release date. The timing of Jermaine Dupri’s tweets led some to speculate as to whether he meant to refer to Lamar, in particular. The Compton rapper released an interview with Harper’s Bazaar the day before, in which he still refused to reveal info about new music. Some in the comment section felt Dupri was out of touch. Others, meanwhile, agreed with his sentiments.

This is not the first time Jermaine Dupri has criticized the current state of the music business. The producer went semi-viral for his take on AI music back in February. “I don’t even know why people are excited because… it’s fake,” he said during an Atlanta conference. “It takes away from what you actually feel… AI comes in and it’s like washing away all of this.” To be fair, Dupri is putting his money were his mouth is. He recently launched a partnership with Create Music Group to focus on developing a new crop of artists.

LUCKI & Playboi Carti Appear To Bury The Hatchet With Vague IG Story Post

Playboi Carti took some words from LUCKI to heart a couple of weeks ago, leading to the two MCs to trade some shots. The Opium label boss had an issue with the Chicago, Illinois native buying a chain and saying, “crosses up”. He viewed that as a sneak diss toward his “ALL RED” track where he raps, “Upside-down cross tat’ on my neck, shut ’em up, uh, uh“. LUCKI attempted to clarify what he meant in a short video, saying, “Like I said from the jump, I don’t dislike you. You think, yesterday, because I bought a chain and I said, ‘crosses up,’ that I was sneak dissing you”.

He later added, “I just bought a chain and was saying, ‘crosses up.’ You just insecure because you don’t love Jesus like that”. LUCKI then shared an older picture of Carti with a t-shirt that said “I [heart] Jesus” on it. A few days later, the “Timeless” MC would subtly fire back on IG, “Should’ve signed to the O. I ain’t worried bout nobody, n****s can talk, say whatever they wanna say about me”.

Lucki Seems To Be The One Who Made The Call

Now, though, there is another vague social media post from LUCKI, although it appears to be showing signs of positivity. According to Kurrco, the GEMINI! creator posted a screenshot of a recently completed phone call with “Barti” to his second account’s IG Story. We can only assume that it was between him and Carti and that they discussed the public feud. Overall, it seems like things are all good now given that there’s a “❤” emoji over the screenshot. It is good to see that they reconciled, even if it was just a misunderstanding, ultimately.

What are your thoughts on LUCKI and Playboi Carti appearing to settle their differences? Do you think this beef was just a big misunderstanding? Could you see these two making some music together soon? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding LUCKI and Playboi Carti. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
