Nicki Minaj Jokingly Announces Son Papa Bear’s Real Name, Twerks To 50 Cent Remix

Following the drop of her anxiously awaited new album Pink Friday 2, Nicki Minaj has been going all in with promotion. The hitmaker appeared on Kai Cenat’s livestream last week, has an interview with Funny Marco on the way, and more. She even joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, making for an expectedly fun conversation.

At one point in her appearance, Nicki teased the reveal of her son’s real name. Fans know the three-year-old as Papa Bear, but the Queen of Rap has kept his true identity a secret, leaving fans curious about his actual name. She announced that she was finally ready for the reveal on the show, prompting an audible gasp from the live studio audience. “His name is Andy Cohen,” she then jokingly declared.

Nicki Minaj Jokes That Papa Bear’s Real Name Is Andy Cohen

Obviously, Nicki’s not quite ready for a real reveal, so fans will have to continue calling her son Papa Bear for now. Regardless, they’ve been having a blast with Nicki’s return to center stage, and are loving Pink Friday 2. Aside from her interviews and appearances, the Trinidadian-born performer has been very active on social media to promote her latest project.

Recently, for example, she took to TikTok to show off her moves to her remix with 50 Cent, “Beep Beep.” In the video, she’s seen sporting a denim mini-skirt and jacket, throwing it back to the fan-favorite track. Clearly, Nicki’s having as much fun with the release as fans are, and the Barbz love to see it.

Nicki Minaj Goes No. 1 With “Pink Friday 2”

To absolutely no one’s surprised, Nicki Minaj’s new album Pink Friday 2 had a great first-week debut on the Billboard album charts. Moreover, according to new metrics from Chart Data, the project is set to sell 222K units in this timeframe, placing it at the No. 1 spot on the charts. She must be very happy with this outcome, regardless of whether or not she believes in the power of angel numbers. Other placements on this week’s album chart are also unsurprising: Taylor Swift (thrice in the top 10), Drake, Morgan Wallen, SZA, and so on. Congrats to the Trinidadian MC for closing out 2023 with another No. 1 hip-hop LP, one of the few we got this year.

Furthermore, she is showing no signs of slowing her roll down in the near future. In fact, Nicki Minaj recently teased a long-anticipated spectacle for her Barbz, one that’s been in the works for a while. But she kept things clear and optimistic when relaying that she’s still hard at work on her documentary. Considering the 41-year-old’s massively impactful career and her staggering trajectory, such a tale should be a compelling look into this success.

On the other hand, she is also getting ready for her world tour in 2024, something that the Barbz have begged for incessantly for a long, long time. Finally, it seems like Nicki Minaj is ready to fully embrace the stage once again, fueled by this newfound wealth of material. Of course, we would expect her to run through her stacked catalog of hits too, but to see her in a new era is the most exciting of these prospects. If you’re thinking about buying a ticket, act fast; we’d only expect them to get tougher to purchase from here on out.

Meanwhile, what remains to be seen now is whether the “Let Me Calm Down” hitmaker landed a No. 1 song on the charts. With a couple of different smashes to choose from, it would be pretty interesting to see which one lands on top from all the tracks on Pink Friday 2, even if it doesn’t nab the highest placement. Let us know your predictions on that end in the comments section down below. Also, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Nicki Minaj.

Azealia Banks Defends Nicki Minaj Following Kanye West’s ‘No Body’ Verse Clearance Request Rant

After her iHeartRadio Jingle Ball performance on December 14 in Atlanta, Georgia, Nicki Minaj is laser-focused on all things Pink Friday 2. That means leaving behind anything that will siphon off promotional attention from it, including older collaborations. Unfortunately, that means her leaked viral verse for Kanye West’s song “New Body” might never see the light of day.

After Nicki apparently refused to clear her verse, which was set to appear on West’s forthcoming joint album Vultures with Ty Dolla Sign, he went on a rant against her. Now, Azealia Banks has inserted herself into the mix to take up for Nicki’s artistic decision.

On Saturday, December 16, in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Banks tore into West. “Okay. Now I’m really pissed the f*ck off,” she wrote. “Regardless of how I feel about [Pink Friday 2], did fat, smelly loser Kanye West really just try to step all over Nicki’s release? Did I hear correctly when he tried to take credit for supporting her career.”

She continued, “Did he forget that Lil Wayne and Young Money [Records] supported her, believed in her, and shared their money, time, and resources with her to launch a female rapper to international icon status? Has Kanye ever successfully launched any artist he hasn’t sabotaged out of jealousy?”

Banks’ opinions on other artists tend to divide users online, but most fans support this take.

Will Lil Nas X Drop A Remix Of Nicki Minaj’s ‘FTCU?’

Nicki Minaj’s latest album, Pink Friday 2, has awakened the inner Barb in users online. With the “Cowgirl” rapper’s forthcoming world tour slated to kick off next year, supporters are trying to memorize the lyrics to the 24 songs and remixes shared on the body of work and Gag City deluxe version.

But fans believe, as she’s hinted, there is still more music to come. Although it doesn’t appear Minaj’s verse on “New Body” will make it to streaming services, supporters are turning their attention to another collaboration. Will Lil Nas X drop a remix of Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU” is now the question at the top of their minds. The answer is: maybe.

Today (December 15), the former Barb fan account manager took to his official X (formerly Twitter) to share a tease freestyle he recorded over the ATL Jacob-produced instrumental.

“We gone f*ck that club up / We gone throw some dubs up / If you broke, ain’t got no money, n**** shut the f*ck up / Shout out Miss Onika Tonya, that’s my mama, that’s on God / If you f*cking up the club, hit up Nas Maraj / I am in and in and out of town, ATL underground I stay in the South, been in Houston mo’ than Bobby Brown / F*ck this society, I do things in my way / It’s Onika and Lil Nassy, it’s a Pink-er Friday,” raps Lil Nas X.

Who knows if the pair will ever officially link, but for now, fans will hold on to the “FTCU” Nas Maraj mix for as long as they can.

Tasha K Thinks Nicki Minaj’s Album Rollout Could’ve Been Better In This Way

Tasha K is as big of a Nicki Minaj fan as anyone, but even she has her reservations about the rollout of her new album, Pink Friday 2. Moreover, she took to Twitter to voice some of her concerns and critiques, particularly with the press run behind this project. Of course, the blogger made it clear that she loves the rapper’s work and what she stands for. In fact, it’s a big part of the reason as to why she would hold her up to a higher standard when it comes to what she represents, highlights, and platforms. Tasha thinks that Nicki could’ve done a better job of uplifting female voices in the media space, but chose not to for whatever reason.

“I love tf outta Nicki Minaj and I gotta say something,” Tasha K’s tweet began. “Her press run is dope but it would have been even more classic if she would have included a FEMALE Media VOICE for the culture! I didn’t see her sit down with NOT one WOMAN in a male dominated media industry! I’m not talking about me!

Tasha K Speaks On Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 Rollout

“I’m talking about the same thing she faces is in a male dominated rap industry!” Tasha K continued. “Angela Yee, Sherri Shepard, Jennifer Hudson, and at least one NewMedia voice! Please don’y forget the Barbie’s in media that have to fight for the same rights as you! I’m in Africa on my vacation! Don’t forget about the female voices that disseminate too! If I’m wrong on this, and I missed something, I will apologize for my error!” Overall, she’s making quite an interesting point that others also levy at the Trinidadian MC when it comes to her rap collabs.

Meanwhile, we know that Tasha has some heavy beef with other male media figures, so this callout against that hierarchy is unsurprising. Still, what do you think about her comments on Nicki’s treatment or alleged erasure of female voices in music coverage? Does she have a strong point or is this all just looking too deeply into it because she’s such a huge star? Whatever the case, drop your thoughts down in the comments section below. As always, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Nicki Minaj and Tasha K.

Nicki Minaj Thanks Travis Scott For Clearing “Pink Friday 2” Sample

Nicki Minaj has been in an absolute tailspin of news recently. She’s dealing with a potential major beef with Cardi B that seems to be escalating by the minute. Plus she recently appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live where she made some substantial promises to fans about material coming soon. Additionally in between all of that and the numerous announcements she’s made recently, she found the time to livestream with Kai Cenat.

During the livestream, they discuss a wide variety of topics and when Kai brings up a Travis Scott concert Nicki has something to say. She’s thankful to Travis for making it easy on her to clear a sample from her new album. The song “Pink Birthday” contains a sample of the intro track to Travis Scott’s modern classic Rodeo. Nicki is thankful for how smooth the process was and that Travis wasn’t “petty” about any of it. It’s not the only high-profile sample on the album either as the intro track “Are You Gone Already” contains a prominent sample of a Billie Eilish song. Check out the clip of Nicki thanking Travis below.

Of course the main reason Nicki Minaj is everywhere right now is the release of her new album Pink Friday 2. The project marked her first new album in 5 years and her 5th studio album over all. Subsequently even beyond the samples the project was a major group undertaking. Rappers like Drake, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, Future, J. Cole, and more all lent guest verses to the album.

One thing fans noticed when the tracklist was announced is that none of Nicki’s major female rap contemporaries were included. Since then it’s become much clearer why as she takes shots at Latto and Megan Thee Stallion on the record. Additionally she now finds herself embroiled in a beef with Cardi B online. What do you think of Nicki Minaj shouting out Travis Scott for clearing a sample of his music to appear on her new album? Let us know in the comment section below.

Nicki Minaj Updates Fans On The Status Of Her Highly-Anticipated Documentary

Nicki Minaj’s recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live has sparked all kinds of discussion around her. One of the highlights came when she dropped a long-awaited update on her Nicki documentary that she’s promised in the past. “It is absolutely still coming. I wouldn’t have wanted it to come out right now because it would’ve taken time away from them really listening to the music. Now that they’ve digested the music, the documentary will be a different level of emotional rollercoaster. I’m sharing stuff that probably no one would expect me to share,” she explained.

The documentary has gone on quite the journey in the past few years. It was originally announced in 2020 and was intended to drop on HBO Max. Since then updates on the project have been few and far between. Though it initially got a teaser trailer, the only real information Nicki shared was that she was looking for a new distributor for the project. She finally concluded the interview segment by sharing an even more enticing update. Since her tour starts in March of next year, she wants the documentary out before then. Check out the interview segment below.

Nicki Minaj’s Documentary Is Still Coming Soon

Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj released her 5th studio album Pink Friday 2. It was her first entire new album of studio material since 2018’s Queen. The album was met with shrugs by many critics despite Nicki’s die-hard fans seeming to love it. She didn’t hold anything back from the album either grabbing some of the biggest names in hip-hop for features. Drake, Future, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, and J. Cole all make appearances on the album.

Her collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert “Everybody” has been the breakout song form the record so far. It’s caught on immediately on social media and numerous fellow celebs have already shared clips of themselves enjoying the track. What do you think of Nicki Minaj promising that her documentary is still coming soon? Do you think it will ever actually come out? Let us know in the comment section below.

Lil Nas X Remixes Nicki Minaj’s “FTCU”: Listen

Pink Friday 2 is here, and there are a lot of artists that are feeling more like Barbz these days as a result. Moreover, many fellow rappers and musicians in other genres came forward to show their love to Nicki Minaj’s latest album. The most recent addition in that vein actually came in the form of a new remix. Furthermore, Lil Nas X recently took to social media, particularly Instagram, to share his remix of the track “FTCU,” which includes a brag-heavy, boisterous, and bombastic new verse from him. He comes off with a lot of charisma and with some funny bars and references, whether it’s proclaiming his Nicki standom or pulling together some punchlines with Doja Cat song titles.

Not only that, but this is very interesting given the Georgia artist’s recent switch-up into his self-proclaimed “Christian era.” As is unfortunately usual for him, he faced a lot of backlash as a result, but also some surprising support from a leader in the Christian rap space, Lecrae. Hopefully this means that Lil Nas X wasn’t deterred from expressing himself in whatever way he saw fit. Who knows, maybe other future remixes of his will also take on this religious slant.

“FTCU” Remix By Lil Nas X: Listen

What we wouldn’t bet on, though, is for the MONTERO superstar to cook up more remixes of the Trinidadian MC. For those unaware, Lil Nas X and Nicki Minaj have a complicated relationship, although they’ve never been too close to one another to begin with. Rather, their bond stems from his aforementioned love of her and her music, which became a hot topic in the headlines at one point. Following some apparently rejected collabs and some fanbase clashing, we’d remain pretty skeptical of the idea that they could eventually come together.

However, we’d love to be proven wrong, as they are too talented of a duo to pass up on. It’s nowhere near the level of cold war that the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” hitmaker has with Cardi B, but it’s still a touchy subject. Do you think that Nas Maraj will eventually get to work with his Queen? Let us know down in the comments section below. In addition, keep checking in with HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Lil Nas X and Nicki Minaj.

Nicki Minaj Claimed ‘Pink Friday 2’ Sales Were Removed By ‘Billboard’ And Here’s Why That May Have Happened

nicki minaj

Nicki Minaj released her latest album, Pink Friday 2, last Friday (December 8), and it has a good chance at debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart; The most noteworthy album that also released on the same day would be Tate McRae’s Think Later. It appears Minaj’s album may not end up with as many first-week sales as the rapper was counting on, though.

As Stereogum notes, in a now deleted post, Minaj announced a contest for her fans, writing, “Show the PROOF of your 4 vinyls OR 4 DIGITAL DOWNLOADS (each cover) & you can win what he just did. A Change to help me pick the next 3 songs for the #GagCity2 edition that comes out in 5 days. In person ;).”

Then, in also-deleted tweets shared yesterday, December 14, Minaj claimed that Billboard was removing 100,000 sales from the tracking week for Pink Friday 2 due to the contest. She wrote, “been discussing my 100 barbz contest for months. they said billboard reached out to say they gon take away sales for me telling y’all about the 100 barbz thing. Can’t wait until these next 6 hours are up so I can tell y’all some sh*t. You can give out millions in cashapp money tho. Lol. So barbz, me asking you to show PROOF of something that was already DELIVERED OR PURCHASED IS AGAINST THE RULES. SO pls disregard. Apologies.”

She added in another tweet:

“They so mad

They said 170-190 knowing it was 200k alrdy.

Then they said 199 just so that 2 wouldn’t leave they moof chi

It’s at 300 but once they filter out 100K, you’ll be none the fking wiser.

I’m being punished for:

Not signing a 360

Making great music

Having great fans

And for not leaving the game so that their new Nicki’s (who signed 360 deals) can be propped up to look as tho they are a lot more successful than they rlly are.

Having too much power

#PinkFriday2.”

On a related note, Billboard reported this past May:

“Limited combinations of merchandise and physical albums will be counted on Billboard‘s album charts starting this summer, but with new rules to prevent the issues that led to the elimination of such ‘bundles’ three years ago.

The new combinations of merch and albums, dubbed ‘fan packs,’ will allow fans to support their favorite artists on the charts in a way that research suggests that many would like to. However, the packs will be restricted to just two options per album release — a sweatshirt with an LP and a t-shirt with a CD, for example — with the requirement that each individual item must also be sold separately in the same web store. Fan packs will include only merch — not tickets, meet-and-greet opportunities, virtual items or non-tangible benefits — and they must also contain a physical copy of an album: Combinations of digital downloads and merch will not count towards the charts. In addition, fan pack offerings must be approved in advance of their on-sale date by Luminate and Billboard. […]

The new rules allowing fan packs will take effect during the tracking week that runs from June 30 to July 6, 2023, for charts dated July 15.”

Nicki Minaj Said Her Long-Awaited ‘Nicki’ Documentary ‘Is Absolutely Still Coming’ And Shared When She Would Like For It To Drop

Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday 2 still has the Barbz in a frenzy. While much of her fanbase is satisfied with her fifth studio album, Minaj always manages to leave the Barbz wanting more.

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the rapper revealed that her long-awaited six-part documentary is finally on the way.

“It is absolutely still coming,” she said. “I wouldn’t have wanted it to come out right now because it would’ve taken time away from them really listening to the music. Now that they’ve digested the music, the documentary will be a different level of emotional rollercoaster. I’m sharing stuff that probably no one would expect me to share.”

The docuseries was first announced in 2020, and was set to premiere on HBO Max. However, last summer, Minaj shared a teaser for the documentary, and indicated that she was now on the search for a new distributor.

Though Minaj didn’t share which platform the documentary will arrive on, she did tease a tentative date. And if it all goes her way, fans may be able to see the documentary sooner rather than later.

“Because the tour starts in March, I would want the documentary out prior to March,” Minaj said.

You can see a clip from the interview above.
