Kim Kardashian’s $73,000 Watch Is A Custom Previously Auctioned Off By Pharrell
While it feels like she’s been famous forever, Kim Kardashian’s rise in Hollywood didn’t become fully realized until 2007. The 42-year-old graduated from high school in 1998 and went on to become Paris Hilton’s personal assistant. Still, it wasn’t until her sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J leaked online that the public really began taking interest in her. Since then, plenty of hard work and a number of high-profile relationships have kept her and her family at the centre of the news cycle for years.
Among Kardashian’s many interests is the world of fashion, in which she’s steadily become more involved. Her previous marriage to Kanye West allowed her to connect with plenty of fashion moguls and industry insiders, as while as attend the Met Gala for the first time. In the time since their tumultuous divorce, the mother of two has been redeveloping her personal style and working in plenty of luxurious jewelry pieces to her looks. Most recently, she was spotted out with James Corden wearing one of Pharrell Williams’ old custom pieces.
Kim’s Custom Flex
As Complex notes, photos of the reality starlet and the English comedian running around Malibu are circulating. Wearing jeans, a bodysuit, and a long braided ponytail, Kardashian looks more casual than usual but still put together. At the time, she also wore a watch on her wrist, which we now know cost an astounding $73,000. The model is a Casio G-Shock x Bape DW-6900. It’s a one-of-a-kind that was designed thanks to the talents of Jacob & Co.
The coveted piece was part of a 2022 auction through JOOPITER, the new Louis Vuitton Men’s Creative Director’s online platform. The listing reveals that it boasts 14-karat white gold with white, cognac, yellow, and black diamonds. “It is a perfectly balanced exercise in form vs. function. In addition to the flooded bezel and case, the back is also frosted with a diamond-studded caricature of Pharrell, borrowed from the In My Mind album cover artwork,” the product note explains.
Filming Carpool Karaoke with James Corden
It remains unclear exactly when we’ll see Kim Kardashian (and her watch) on The Late Late Show. Still, fans are eager to watch her perform her favourite songs during Carpool Karaoke. The socialite has appeared on Corden’s program in the past. However, seeing her croon – something she rarely does publicly – on camera will certainly be entertaining. Let us know what you hope to hear her sing in the comments, and check out some of the segment’s funniest moments in the video above.

Louis Vuitton Wants Pharrell To Be The New Menswear Designer, Taking Over Virgil Abloh’s Vacant Role
Ever since the passing of Virgil Abloh, the head menswear designer role he held at Louis Vuitton has been vacant. That may be changing soon, as the French luxury house is reportedly in talks with music superproducer Pharrell Williams to fill the position, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Virgil, who founded the streetwear brand Off-White in 2013 and worked heavily with Kanye West in the early ’10s, was the first African-American to be artistic director at a French luxury brand after joining Louis Vuitton in 2018. He was also a relatively successful DJ and cover art designer, marking the overlap in music and fashion.
Pharrell would offer a natural extension of that overlap; while he got his start in music as one-half of the superstar production duo The Neptunes, he went on to have a tremendous influence in the world of fashion thanks to his collaborations with brands like Adidas and Bape and his work with his own brands BBC and Ice Cream.
LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the company that runs Louis Vuitton (along with a bunch of other luxury brands, as you can probably tell by its title), is likely looking to take advantage of that cultural cachet, continuing what Abloh started in embracing streetwear and the two musicians’ more avant-garde approach to fashion.
Tyler, The Creator Shares Pharrell’s Advice That Made Him Take Music Seriously
Jumping into the entertainment industry can be all fun and games, but Tyler, The Creator was set straight by Pharrell Williams. Those who have been tracking Tyler’s career not only recall the impact that his music had on the industry but the carefree and often silly approach he took to his art. That still seems important to the rapper—having fun while drifting through the illusion the industry brings. However, he shared that it was Pharrell who offered up sage advice that helped Tyler shift his focus.
RapCaviar Presents is a new series slated for Hulu, and ahead of its March release, they’ve dropped off a teaser. In it, Tyler said, “I didn’t have a father, I didn’t have a big brother… So, as a kid, since 10, 11, Pharrell is who I looked at.” Pharrell also appeared, revealing that the admiration turned into a friendship. “He would ask me advice on certain things,” said the megaproducer.

The two hitmakers were once in the studio, and Tyler recalled being told, “You got it, n*gga! You just don’t see it, n*gga! You got it, you got the sh*t.” Then, Pharrell shared advice that he once received from Jimmy Iovine. The music giant once asked Pharrell if he liked “house music.” Williams thought Iovine was referring to the genre and said it has a “good tempo.” Iovine corrected him and said, “No Pharrell, house music. Good music that could buy you a house.”
Pharrell later drove home the point to Tyler. “Make something undeniable and make it equally as infectious,” Pharrell recalls telling him. “Why are you doing music? Is it because you just want to look cool? Because that will burn out. When it becomes purpose-oriented, it can be as cool as the flashy sh*t, but it will be much more meaningful.”

It was advice that changed the course of Tyler’s career. “Oh, f*ck,” the rapper remembered thinking. “No more being silly. Music first. At that moment, we went home, and I just wanted to change everything. I just wanted to switch. And the switch f*cking happened.” Check out these two sharing the story above.
