Pete Davidson Escalates PETA Beef With Crazy Voicemail

The next chapter in a newly sparked beef between Pete Davidson and PETA features a profanity-laced voicemail from the former. The beef started when Davidson was filmed buying a dog from a New York pet store instead of adopting one from a shelter. Following the video PETA made a statement expressing their disagreement with the decision. Apparently, Davidson took quite an issue with that move.

According to TMZ, Davidson chose to respond with a profanity-laced voicemail for PETA executive Daphna Nachminovitch. On the call, he argues that because he’s allergic to dogs he had to find a specific breed that would have been difficult to locate in a shelter. From that point, the voicemail goes on an angry rant. Apparently, Pete was getting the dog for his mother to replace another dog that had recently died. He brings it up in the voicemail as an explanation for his action.

Pete Davidson’s New Puppy

In a response to the situation, PETA said “Our hearts go out to the Davidson family for the loss of their dog, but Pete must know in his heart that there’s no excuse for buying a dog and propping up the puppy mill industry when millions of dogs await loving homes in shelters.” After the voicemail was made public Davidson issued an apology. In his statement, he lamented his anger and emotion but defended his motivations. “It was a poor choice of words. I shouldn’t have said what I said, but I am not sorry for standing up for myself and my family.”

Controversy has followed Pete Davidson around for years most notably his time with Kim Kardashian. Kim and Pete’s relationship returned to many people’s minds recently when the topic was covered on an episode of The Kardashians. Pete was also slated to return to Saturday Night Live last month, his first time back since leaving the show. Before he could step in as host though the ongoing Writer’s Guild strike caused the episode to be canceled. What’s your take on the beef between Pete Davidson and PETA? PETA Shares “Last Of Us”-Inspired Ad Blaming Meat For The Apocalypse

PETA has released a new commercial that will air ahead of The Last of Us, this weekend, to warn against the dangers of eating meat. In doing so, the ad pokes fun at the new hit series for HBO. The commercial, titled “The Don’t List,” features a girl who appears to take inspiration from Bella Ramsey’s character, Ellie, on The Last of Us.

Throughout the commercial, the young girl walks through a destroyed city while listing off typical rules that parents give their children. Notably, she mentioned never being told not to consume “meat or dairy,” before implying that’s the cause of the apocalyptic scenario.

“You said it was your job to protect me. You were always telling me what not to do. ‘Don’t run with a lollipop in your mouth, don’t touch the light socket, don’t go near the stove, don’t chase a ball into the street, don’t talk with strangers online. Don’t do this and don’t do that because you could get hurt.’ But you never said, ‘Don’t eat meat or dairy.’ Now look what you’ve done,” the girl says in the ad.

“The horrors portrayed in The Last of Us are imaginary, but as Greta Thunberg has made clear, kids will face a truly dire future if we continue pumping greenhouse gases from meat and dairy production into the atmosphere,” said PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman in a statement. “No parent wants to doom their children to an inhospitable planet, which is why PETA is urging them to feed them vegan before it’s too late.”

Sunday’s episode of The Last of Us will be the show’s season one finale. The series has been a hit for HBO since premiering earlier this year. The first five episodes averaged almost 30 million viewers for the network. In January 2023, HBO renewed it for a second season, which will be based on The Last of Us Part II video game.

Rihanna Gifted An Faux Fur Coat By PETA After Being Spotted Rocking A Real Fur

PETA has decided to help Rihanna add to her closet after being spotted rocking a full-length genuine fur coat. The animal rights organization contacted the Fenty Beauty founder to offer her a “cruelty-free “alternative. PETA not only gifted the Barbadian-bred mogul with her very own faux-fur coat from Unreal fur but also an important message. In a letter obtained by TMZ, PETA’s senior vice president Lisa Lange pled to Rihanna, especially as a new mother, writing, “…You know what it’s like to feel protective and to want to make sure no harm comes to your family.”

She continued, “Please understand that this desire — this instinct even — is shared by the minks, foxes, and rabbits who are torn away from their families and killed for their fur.”

The organization has offered to take any of Rihanna’s fur clothes off her hands and donate them to survivors of the recent earthquakes in Syria and Turkey, according to the letter.

PETA then asks Rihanna, “Won’t you please help create a kinder world for your children to grow up in by deciding today that you’ll no longer wear fur?”

Rihanna and her team have yet to make a statement about the recent news, but it’ll be interesting to see if she makes the switch. The fashionista won a PETA award in 2020 for a limited edition faux fur capsule wardrobe for her FENTY fashion brand, so maybe there’s hope.

Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Turn Heads During Milan Date Night, PETA Gifts Singer Faux Fur Coat

Following the birth of her son last May, many Rihanna fans expected the 35-year-old to take some time out of the spotlight to adjust to such a major life change before making a major comeback. Their predictions weren’t exactly inaccurate, though many thought that she’d be announcing the arrival of her next album before revealing another pregnancy. During her Super Bowl Halftime performance earlier this month, the singer proudly put her budding bump on display, sharing the exciting news without actually saying a word.

Her first time carrying a child saw Rihanna boldly experimenting with her style. Many of her outfits were very revealing, giving the Fenty Beauty founder a chance to hone her confidence while waiting for her firstborn. This time around she’s been a bit more conservative as far as showing skin, though we can’t deny that her “Fashion Killa” status is still intact.

PETA Puts Pressure on Rihanna

After taking some time to recover from the intense preparation that went into her return to the stage, one of the first looks we saw the Barbadian-born beauty rock was baggy jeans, a graphic tee (featuring her bump peaking out the tiniest bit), and a long fur coat. Her vibe is effortlessly “cool girl,” and while many fans think she looks fabulous, PETA is calling Rihanna out for allegedly wearing real fur. According to TMZ, senior vice president Lisa Lange wrote a letter to her team expressing concerns over her outfit.

“As a mother, you know what it’s like to feel protective and to want to make sure no harm comes to your family,” she wrote to the lingerie designer. “Please understand that this desire – this instinct even – is shared by the minks, foxes, and rabbits who are torn away from their families and killed for their fur.” The animal rights organization then asks Rihanna to consider making a pledge to stop wearing fur upon reading the letter.

Additionally, they offered to take any animal items out of her closet and donate them to those struggling in Syria and Turkey due to the recent earthquakes. Seeing as they’re requesting the Bad Gal give up a seriously stylish piece, PETA is also helping to relieve her burden by sending over a faux fur coat from Unreal Fur in an effort to make the cruelty-free switch easier on her. It’s worth noting that Rihanna has been wearing real fur for years, though she previously won an award for creating faux leather products at Fenty.

RiRi & Rocky’s Fashion Week Fits

Clearly, the “Desperado” singer isn’t letting PETA’s request bother her too much. Rather, she’s embracing the finer things in life overseas at Milan Fashion Week with her beau A$AP Rocky. Paparazzi snapped photos of the couple arriving in the country earlier this week, RiRi happily carrying her baby boy in her arms after deplaning. The Testing rapper was one of the many celebrities in attendance at the Gucci show, and following that, he and his partner stepped out for date night in Italy.

Rihanna opted to wear various shades of orange for their night on the town, including a sleek silk dress with a flirty leg slit and a darker-coloured bomber to keep her and her bump warm. Rocky donned jeans with a unique silhouette, a white tee, and a black leather jacket. LisaRaye McCoy Accuses Kylie Jenner Of Copying Her Look With Lion’s Head Gown

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, or so they say, and LisaRaye McCoy is claiming Kylie Jenner copied her look. Jenner recently made a show-stopping appearance at the Schiaparelli runway show for Paris Fashion Week. The mogul wore Schiaparelli gown complete with a faux fur lion’s head—a look that was also featured in the show.

Jenner captured the attention of the world as her appearances often do. McCoy also acknowledged the display while also paying homage to a similar style she previously showcased at an event.

On Instagram, McCoy shared video that showed her one-shoulder animal design

“Yes @adrejhono YOU all plus bestie @kevinarnett did this look on meeeeeeee and it slayed!!!” the actress wrote.

“It’s nice to see others @kyliejenner copy and try to duplicate it in there way but we did it 1st baby. Thank yall again. Since we’re trending maybe we all need to get together and come up with something for someone to be inspired by……again! ✨

McCoy faced pushback, as social media users pointed out that Jenner wasn’t responsible for creating the dress.

Although Jenner’s attire was criticized, PETA came forward to express their support of the reality star’s faux fur gown. They have often called out the Kardashian-Jenners for wearing real fur, but this time, they had nothing but praise.

“These fabulously innovative three-dimensional animal heads show that where there’s a will, there’s a way,” the company wrote. “We encourage everyone to stick with 100% cruelty-free designs that showcase human ingenuity and prevent animal suffering.”

Alicia Silverstone Poses Nude For PETA, “Clueless” Star Says She “Never” Gets Naked

It’s no secret that sex sells – PETA has known this for years, which is precisely why they recruit stunning celebrities to star in their informative campaigns. The shock appeal of seeing a famous face (and body) nude while reminding you about the wrongs of animal cruelty truly never gets old for the organization.

In the past, stars like Pamela Anderson, Karina Smirnoff, and Bethenny Frankel all bared their physiques for the camera in favour of saving their furry friends. Now, it’s Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone’s turn to break the internet.

The new campaign made its debut on Tuesday (December 20). Ahead of the release, PEOPLE shared a first look at the accompanying video. “I never, ever, get naked in TV, in film, nothin’, never, nope,” the blonde beauty tells the camera.

“But I’ve done it for PETA because that’s how much it matters to me,” she added. “The amount of resources, water, food, oil for transport, the amount of energy that goes into making leather is extraordinary. It’s just not sustainable. The Earth can’t handle it.”

In the new photos, Silverstone wears nothing but cowboy boots while posing in a cactus field. “DON’T BE A PRICK,” the clever slogan reads. “Wear Vegan. Buy cactus, mushroom, or apple leather instead!”

The mother of three herself is a long-time vegan, making the personal decision to change her diet back in 1999. Since then, she’s often used her platform as a place to speak on animal rights and other issues.

In the new campaign video, Silverstone says that her dream is to get “earth-friendly materials into the hands of famous designers” so the industry as a whole can gravitate closer toward sustainability.

“I’d rather go naked than wear animals,” she additionally notes in the clip.

Though it’s already making rounds on social media, PETA has plans to launch the new ad on a billboard in Times Square before the ball drops on New Year’s Eve.

Check out Alicia Silverstone’s latest photoshoot below, and come back later for more pop culture news updates.

PETA Urges Jack Harlow And Drake To Donate Proceeds From “Churchill Downs” Video To Thoroughbred Horses

Jack Harlow Drake KY Derby

Jack Harlow had celebrated the release of his second studio album Come Home The Kids Miss You, by attending the Kentucky Derby that same weekend. It was a star-studded event, and even Drake showed up. The two took the opportunity to make a video for their track “Churchill Downs,” which featured clips of horses racing in the video.

While many might have turned a blind eye to the horse racing, one group didn’t. And that would be the animal rights group PETA.

PETA came out against the video, claiming that Harlow and Drake were “glamourizing” horse racing with the music video, and that the abuse that horses endure was left out of the music video.

The statement released on PETA’s website reads: “Jack Harlow and Drake have chosen to glamorize horseracing with their new ‘Churchill Downs’ video. In response, PETA is calling on Harlow to donate the song’s proceeds toward caring for Thoroughbreds discarded by the industry, which exports 7,500 of them for slaughter every year.”

The statement continued, saying “Jack Harlow’s glamorized portrayal of horse racing is missing the whips, drugs, and deaths that run rampant in the industry,” says PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo. “Profiting from the abuse of others is never acceptable, and PETA is calling on Jack Harlow to pony up and pay for the care of American Thoroughbreds who would otherwise be shipped to foreign slaughterhouses.”

Since the statement was released, neither Harlow nor Drake have responded. It is unlikely they will since this is not the first time PETA has spoken out against rappers. Remember when Kanye said to tell PETA his mink is draggin’ on the floor?

Jack Harlow And Drake Were Criticized By PETA For Their ‘Churchill Downs’ Video

Just before the one-month anniversary of his sophomore album Come Home The Kids Miss You, Jack Harlow arrived with a video for one of the album’s most popular songs. “Churchill Downs,” which is highlighted by a stellar guest feature from Drake, got the visual treatment in the best way that the song could. Jack and Drake brought their talents to Kentucky’s Churchill Downs, the famed horse racetrack in Louisville, which is Jack’s hometown. The visual captured scenes from last month’s Kentucky Derby and its scenes from it that are the source of criticism that Jack and Drake recently received from PETA.

“Jack Harlow and Drake have chosen to glamorize horseracing with their new ‘Churchill Downs’ video,” the animal rights group wrote in a statement according to HotNewHipHop. “In response, PETA is calling on Harlow to donate the song’s proceeds toward caring for Thoroughbreds discarded by the industry, which exports 7,500 of them for slaughter every year.”

PETA’s Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo added, “Jack Harlow’s glamorized portrayal of horse racing is missing the whips, drugs, and deaths that run rampant in the industry. “Profiting from the abuse of others is never acceptable, and PETA is calling on Jack Harlow to pony up and pay for the care of American Thoroughbreds who would otherwise be shipped to foreign slaughterhouses. The only sure thing in horse racing is that the horses always lose.”

Earlier this year, Kanye West and The Game were criticized by PETA for the cover art of their “Eazy” collaboration.
