21 Savage & J Cole Link Up Backstage At Birthday Bash

It was a big weekend in Atlanta. 107.9 Birthday Bash took place with massive performances from Finesse2Tymes, NLE Choppa, and more. However, it was the hometown hero, 21 Savage, who headline the event. Of course, it wouldn’t be right if his homecoming show didn’t bring out some special guests. Considering 21’s pull these days, he certainly had to go out big. The Atlanta star brought J Cole out on stage during his set where they performed their hit record, “a lot.”

Shortly after the performance, 21 Savage hit Instagram with some behind-the-scenes shots of himself and Cole hanging out. “Birthday bash hasn’t felt like that in a while,” 21 captioned the post. “Thank you to everybody who came out for me.” Although 21’s birthday is actually in October, Gillie Da King slid through with his well wishes, writing, “Hbd bro.” However, it didn’t take long for fans to quickly correct him, explaining that he’s months early.

J Cole and 21 Savage formed an incredible bond together over the years. The two first worked together on “a lot,” which helped the North Carolina MC earn the first Grammy award of his career. However, J Cole and 21 Savage have continued to strengthen their chemistry throughout the years. The two co-headlined The Off-Season tour together while also collaborating on “m y l i f e” alongside Morray.

Besides his show at Birthday bash, 21 Savage is gearing up to hit the road alongside another rap giant, Drake. The It’s All A Blur tour kicks off on June 29, 2023, in Memphis, Tennessee before closing out in Drake’s hometown of Toronto in October. Jazmine Sullivan Set Canceled At Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival After Stampedes

Many in Los Angeles were excited to see Jazmine Sullivan and other performers like Wale and Too $hort for the Leimert Park Juneteenth Festival hosted by Amazon Music Live. However, when it came to the R&B star’s set in particular, something happened that made them cancel it. It’s unclear what it was at the moment, as this is a developing story. Still, testimonies on social media indicate that multiple crowd stampedes caused disruption at the festival and prompted either Jazmine, her team, or organizers to call things off. Some were unaware of what happened while attending, while others said that a shooting went down.

In addition, many who were watching the performances via livestream expressed confusion online, as Amazon Music apparently simply said that the event was over. Of course, given the early nature of this news and reports, take these with a grain of salt as more information emerges. Regardless, fan testimonies are particularly scary to hear, as it seemed like a potentially dangerous development in what was otherwise a beautiful and joyous celebration. Fans of the acclaimed singer who weren’t present gave their complaints, but the focus quickly shifted to people on the ground.

In fact, Jazmine Sullivan herself came through with a message for fans on her Instagram Story. “I hope everyone made it home to their loved ones tonight!” the 36-year-old Heaux Tales star wrote. “I’m so disappointed we couldn’t come together and celebrate Juneteenth! If you’re still at the park please leave. The show is cancelled,” she concluded with a crying emoji. While she didn’t hint at the reason behind the cancellation, the fact she expressed hope that everyone got home safe confirms what fans are saying online.

On that note, some fans gave testimonies of there being a shooting that caused these stampedes, while other news outlets don’t mention it. In fact, others online are calling it misinformation and stating that there was poor crowd control and two shoving incidents. No matter what happened, hopefully everyone made it home safe. 03 Greedo Thanks Fans For Keeping Him Rich During Jail Stint

Earlier this year 03 Greedo was released from prison after facing drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm charges. He didn’t waste any time getting back into the studio to record new tracks and back on the road playing shows for fans. In a recent video shared on Instagram by DJ Akademiks, Greedo thanked fans for their continued support. The video’s caption reads “03 Greedo thanks his fans for keeping him rich while he was in jail.” That description is no joke as he literally ends his speech mentioning directly that he appreciates fans keeping him rich throughout his sentence.

03 Greedo has had an incredibly busy 2023 for someone who began the year incarcerated. Shortly after the news broke that he would be released from prison, he surprise dropped his Free 03 mixtape. The project had features from KenTheMan, Drakeo The Ruler, and more. He followed that up in March with an absolutely massive new album called Halfway There. The 33-track, 100-minute project proved just how little time Greedo wasted getting back to making music. The tracklist has a ton of features from Maxo Kream, Ty Dolla $ign, Rich The Kid, Babyface Ray, and more.

In addition to his two projects, 03 Greedo has also popped up with guest spots on a number of other artist’s singles. He also tried to repair some burned bridges with other artists, in particular with J. Cole. Way back in 2018, Greedo said in an interview that J. Cole was “trash.” In a tweet he made he retracted the criticism and admitted that he was wrong all along.

Greedo was also part of a conversation about whether or not rap has an upper age limit. On the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast he made the argument that if rappers hit 40 without making it, they should stop. Memphis Non-Profit Claims Saucy Santana Scammed Them

Saucy Santana is one of the definitive LGBTQ+ voices in all of hip-hop right now. Despite that, he’s caught up in some controversy over a prude event that he allegedly skipped out on. According to The Neighborhood Talk, a Memphis non-profit called One Memphis One Vision booked Saucy for a show that he never showed up to. “One Memphis One Vision claims that their company booked Santana for a Juneteenth Pride event that was supposed to take place June 18th,” the report claims. “The org agreed to pay Santana a total of $25k to host the event and perform two songs.”

After apparently missing his flight, Saucy Santana wasn’t able to make the event. Afterward, the report claims that “Santana’s team then tried to convince the promoters to “find him another place to perform” and pay him the backend of $10k that he was owed.” OMOV declined as that “wasn’t part of their agreement.” The organization then asked for them to return the $5k that they spent on the days’ events, but Saucy’s team refused. OMOV then said that they play to sue for the money they’re owed and are asking for a public apology from Saucy Santana.

Saucy Santana has had a mostly uncontroversial 2023 until this dropped. Just last week he dropped his new single “Whole Family.” The song featured a guest verse from Flo Milli and saw the pair holding nothing back. The song was also dropped with an accompanying music video. In the video the pair and a number of backup dancers parade around a spa living their best lives. It’s Saucy’s second new single of 2023 following “1-800-Bad-Bxtch” which dropped back in March.

Saucy Santana also reportedly has a song with Lil Nas X that’s yet to be released. The pair have linked up to perform the song together multiple times. 21 Savage Surprises Fans In Atlanta With J. Cole Appearance

Yesterday, 21 Savage headlined Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash event in Atlanta, where he surprised fans with a special guest. He brought out J. Cole, who performed a 5-minute-long set of hits, including his collab with Lil Durk, “All My Life.” The crowd at the State Farm Arena went wild for the appearance.

The duo led with their 2018 I Am > I Was collab, “A Lot.” “Atlanta, make some muthaf*ckin’ noise for J. Cole,” 21 Savage told the audience when they’d completed the song. “Hold on, don’t go nowhere. I need you to do a couple more for me, bro.” J. Cole then performed “All My Life,” followed by his 2014 hit, “No Role Modelz.” The event, dubbed a “Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop,” also featured sets from GloRilla, NLE Choppa, and more.

Earlier this week, Lil Durk revealed that it took him and J. Cole years to settle on their “All My Life” collab. “He went super cr*zy,” he told Nadeska. Durk expanded, “And it’s so cr*zy because we’d been talking for, like, two years. He’d always be like, ‘Send me a record.’ And I’m like, ‘I gotta find the right record.’ Man, I’m glad it wasn’t three years. In my eyes, he a legend so if you have a chance to do a song with a legend, you either send them something just to send it, just to say you got one, or you gon’ make it stick. But that’s why I never just sent him a record. ‘Cause I’m like, ‘I want something that’s gon’ stick.’ Yeah, as soon as I did the record, he’s the first person that popped into my head. I’m like, ‘I got it.’ Yeah, that’s why I believe in timing. Timing is everything.”

Durk previously praised J. Cole’s verse on the hit, saying he “had to listen to it like four times.” “You know I ain’t super big on lyricist-type rappers,” he told RapCaviar in May, “With Cole, [he] was one of the ones, like him and Jay, you gotta play them 50 times to catch what they’re saying. Like, if you listen to Lil Wayne right now, and you heard some s**t ten years ago that you just catch onto today. But he definitely gave me one of them verses and I appreciate it. ‘Cause he ain’t even have to, for real. He could’ve gave us anything.”

Cam’ron & Mase To Perform “Special Set” At JAY-Z’s Made In America Festival

Cam’ron and Mase will be reuniting on stage for a “special joint set” at JAY-Z’s Made In America festival, later this year. The festival announced its full star-studded lineup on Wednesday. Other performers include SZA, Lizzo, Miguel, Tems, Metro Booming, Ice Spice, Coi Leray, Latto, Lil Yachty, and more.

Made In America 2023 will be held at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia from September 2-3. Tickets for the event are available now through the Made In America website. Two-day general admission passes are listed at $240 while the VIP package is up for $835.

The special set won’t be Cam’ron and Mase’s first time on the stage together in recent years after the two made amends last summer. In January, they took to the stage in New York City to perform their hit “Horse & Carriage” for the very first time live nearly 25 years after its release.

They have also been hosting the show, It Is What It Is, for several months now. On the program, they discuss a wide range of topics relating to the major sports. Cam’ron recently explained the decision to bring Mase in for the show during an interview with Good Day New York.

“Mase got me my first record deal, ever,” he recalled. “So doing this show and creating this show and having him be a part of it, it felt like I’m giving back to him for helping me even be an entertainer. I may not have been where I’m at if [Ma$e] didn’t take me to Biggie Smalls [The Notorious B.I.G.] and get me my first record deal… I wanted to pay him back, and hopefully, this show will do that.” Cam’ron and Mase infamously had a falling out in the 2000s and went on to trade multiple diss tracks about each other. They eventually made amends in 2022.

Tory Lanez & DaBaby Accused Of Trying To Ambush Megan Thee Stallion Performance

Tory Lanez is facing a very lengthy stay in prison right now. Just a few months ago, he was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. Overall, this was a very substantial ruling that has led to a huge fallout. Moreover, Tory is trying to get his judge disqualified from the case, however, all of his motions have failed. Additionally, a recent memo from prosecutors reveals that they are now asking for a 13-year prison sentence.

Ultimately, this is not good for Tory Lanez, and it seems as though things are starting to get a lot worse. Within the memo published by legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, it was alleged that Tory and DaBaby had planned to ambush Meghan Thee Stallion’s performance at Rolling Loud in 2021. Despite a protective order, the two artists were within 100 yards of Meghan. Although they were unsuccessful at rushing the stage, Meg was understandably frightened by the alleged plan.

“During the victim’s performance, the defendant went through security clearance and entered the green room,” the memo reads. “These areas were within 100 yards of the stage where the victim was performing, in violation of the protective order. It was also brought to the victim’s attention that the defendant and DaBaby attempted to rush the stage… In no way was the victim previously aware of nor did she consent to the defendant’s presence at the venue when she would be performing.”

With Tory’s sentencing set to take place sometime soon, all of this will be taken into account. However, it is clear that the prosecution wants to make an example out of Tory Lanez. They feel as though his behavior before, during, and after the incident is unacceptable. Only time will tell what his prison sentence will be. Latto proved this in a recent appearance on Cut‘s Truth or Drink show with her sister. During the interview, she dishes out answers to one saucy question after another. She confirms she’s in a relationship without confirming who her man actually is. She also admitted that she’s kissed a girl before, but opted to take a drink instead of confessing whether or not she’s hooked up with someone famous before. Perhaps most notably, she confessed which of her performances made her the most nervous.

“Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Clive Davis,” Latto said after being asked when she’s had the most nerves. The legendary record producer hosts a notorious Grammy pre-show party every year which often features the industry’s biggest names. It was too many famous people in there. I had just seen Cardi B. It was legends. And I had a wardrobe malfunction,” Latto explains. “My whole crotch ripped open,” she elaborates.

Latto bringing up Cardi B as a celebrity she was nervous to perform for is good timing. The pair just linked up on a new remix of Latto’s song “Put It On Da Floor.” The resulting song, titled “Put It On Da Floor Again” sees the pair linking up for a series of fire verses. Another moment when the two were brought up together is after Latto’s recent comments about female rappers. She said women in hip-hop were the “most disrespected,” a sentiment that immediately reminded any fans of comments Cardi has made in the past.

It’s the most recent song in what’s been a pretty busy 2023 for Latto so far musically. She started the year with the release of “Lottery” alongside LU KALA. She followed that up with a guest verse on the Mello Buckzz single “Boom Pt. 2.” She’s also dealt with ongoing rumors that her secret man might be 21 Savage. Initially, the soundtrack would only be released at the end of the season. However, he has since gone back on that. Boosie Badazz Says DMX Made Him Cry

In a recent interview with Shade 45, Boosie Badazz opened up about his experience seeing DMX perform live on his “Hard Knock Life” tour. He revealed that the show was his first major concert, sharing that the performance even made him and his cousin get emotional. He also called the show the best performance he has ever seen live.

In the interview, Boosie reveals that he was only 14-years-old when he saw the artist live. “Jay-Z opened up for him,” he recalls, “in Jacksonville, Florida.” He went on to share that he was staying with family at the time, and his uncle brought him along to the show. “DMX made me cry bro,” he revealed, “when he said that prayer at the end bro? Boosie revealed another emotional experience he had recently, when his son told him he didn’t want a Boosie fade. He shared the tragedy with The Breakfast Club earlier this month, saying, “This is my time, bro. When you go back to school, when you go back out of town, you do what you want. But this is my time. When you get 18, do what the f*ck you want.” He continued, “But when you come for the summer – my two months – have enough respect for me to come as you are.
